Imagine paradise. Imagine it as a place on a map. In your mind, drop a pin there… then start walking. Walk away from it as far as you possibly can in the universe you’ve just created. Then drop another pin. That pin is as far away from perfect as you can get… that pin, if you will, is hell. Now, again imagine you tap that pin. Yes… you guessed it. That pin is Yo Sushi at the Trafford Center. Only worse… because going to hell at least has a sense of justice to it. You end up in hell because you did something. I ended up in Yo Sushi, the real incarnation of hell, because my kids wanted to go there. That seems like a harsh punishment. What makes it hell is that in no way does it live up to any of its promises. This is meant to be luxury, exotic, flavoursome… frankly Yo Sushi should have a licence from the FCA to arrange personal loans and mortgages to pay the bill. Their food is so expensive that it is perfectly reasonable to expect it to cure cancer, reverse male pattern baldness, or serve as the world heavyweight champion of aphrodisiacs… But instead, what you get is to wait in a long queue in a shop that’s too hot for it to be good for anyone - another way it is very much like hell. You are sat in grubby, dirty, dilapidated surroundings, and even though I came with small children, you are sat at a bar that in no way lends itself to supervising kids. To the best of my knowledge there is no way to summon waiting staff - I understood they did not use the app and had to be summoned. Only I assume they had to be summoned by telephone, by email, even perhaps by telepathy, because none were around to be summoned by more traditional means. Finally, when my seven year old had got sick of waiting, he went to find one, in a moment I found out about a split second too late, because he was next to me at a bar, not in front of me at a table. When the server was to be found, she knew about as much about the menu as I do about open heart surgery (read: I am not a cardio thoracic surgeon). Couldn’t guide me through the dishes, couldn’t tell me how the menu had changed, couldn’t suggest any alternatives. It was, almost exactly, like talking to a hand puppet. Only hand puppets are fun. This was like putting a knitting needle into my ear. So, with my kids having eaten four plates alone. Four small plates. With pennies worth of food on them, I got sick of the shoddy experience, baulked at the idea of having my pocket picked to be treated like.a simpleton and left. The cost for those four plates? A few pence shy of £18. So in short - I would not recommend this food venue to anyone - unless I bitterly hated them, because I’d caught them in bed with my wife, after driving my car, and having ingratiated themselves to my friends. Then and only then could I loathe someone enough to recommend eating at this establishment. For less dramatic occasions - give it a dramatic swerve. Your bank manager and your sensibilities will thank you.

Today on the 1st September I came here with my friend and my 1 year old daughter. We were seated and given a High chair (which was dirty and I had to clean myself) our order was than taken, we waited quite a while for 2 bowls of miso soup. When the soup was eventually brought to us the waitress served the bowl of soup by going straight over my 1 year olds head. I did say to the waitress please don’t do that it could spill all over her. The annoying part of this for me is it’s actually not the first time this has happens. It’s probably the 3rd time each with different staff members. I am not one who like confrontation so I politely asked the lady serving us to not do that and said how dangerous it was. I think the whole team need educating on how dangerous this is. If any of that had spilt on my 1 year old she was have been seriously hurt and god knows what the extent of her injuries would have been! Somebody else could not be as lucky for it not have not spilt! I’d hate for someone else’s child to be injured because of carelessness!!

We wanted to experience something different ‘food wise’ at the Trafford Centre so we decided on Japanese. For starters we got 2 bowls off the conveyer belt - California crunch and salmon ponzu tempura. For our mains we shared a Korean fried chicken donburi and veggie ramen dumplings which were exceptionally nice. All washed down with some tasty brewgooder rice lager. An enjoyable lunchtime.

The food was good, though not as good as it has been in the past. Our table was a bit of a weird layout for a family, the two on one side of the table couldn't hear, or pass food to the two on the other side of the table. Then I requested a glass of Malbec, the waitress came back to tell me there was no red wine. No red wine at all? No, no red wine at all! On a Friday night. We requested children's chop sticks. There weren't any so we were given a fork instead. No wasabi on the table. It feels like the standards have dropped massively

From the moment I stepped into Yo Sushi at the Metrocentre, I was captivated by the vibrant dance of dishes on the moving conveyor. The highlight was the **YAMASA** soy sauce, which added the perfect umami kick to every bite. As **Willow**, I indulged in a delightful array of sushi that tantalized my taste buds. The **glass bottle of Coke** was a refreshing companion to the **Gari ginger**'s zesty snap. I ventured into the verdant mystery of a green dish, whose name escapes me, but its flavor lingers fondly in memory. The **California Inari Taco** was a fusion fiesta, while the **2 Sesame Cucumber Makis** provided a crisp, clean contrast. The **Duck Roll** was the pièce de résistance, rich and satisfying. All this culinary adventure came at the reasonable sum of **£31.39**. **Payment Order:** 001 **Conclusion:** Yo Sushi delivers an experience that's as delightful to the eyes as it is to the palate. It's a must-visit for any sushi aficionado in the Metrocentre!

Bad customer service. Staff that work there are oblivious to customers in the actual restaurant. They leave you to order from qr code and walk off they don’t try to help you. Food not the best. They charged me for someone else’s food!! Because they don’t know what I’ve ordered just count dishes in that area when someone leaves and pays on app I then paid for this as well. Not worth it

This is our to go place, every time that we visit the Trafford centre . The food here is always spot on for us . The spicy seafood ramen is the best . The presentation is always good and the taste is amazing . The staff are always friendly and the chefs are also lovely . They have a good team at the Trafford centre to sushi . This is the best yo sushi venue and the best service . We decided to try the yo sushi at middlebrook in Bolton and it was awful! I would highly recommend yo sushi in the Trafford centre and I would advise to book online before you come as it does get very full on weekends and sometimes through the week . Worst sushi restaurant I’ve ever been to. After entering the restaurant, the staff directed us to the bar seating where the leather stools were ripped up. 1) Food is extremely overpriced especially for the horrendous quality. I ordered the ramen for 11 pounds and all the noodles were for some reason broken up into little pieces (attached picture). I could just eat instant ramen and have 10x the quality. The salmon maki looks miserable with barely any filling and still costs 11 pounds a piece. 2) Service was slow, had to wait for 20 minutes before the main dishes would come. 0/10 would recommend, made this account just for this singular review. Would avoid 100%

Not as good as it used to be. Ordered 2 kid bento boxes, first one arrived after 10 minutes second we waited 40 minutes for. Had to ask staff 3 times where second bento box was. Staff inattentive and don’t care. Chef shouted at another member of staff in front of customers. Really poor experience and seriously overpriced for what you get.

Used to be a firm favourite. We weren't told it was now app based ordering so sat there like lemons 10 mins. Couldn't make app work. Another staff said we could order as normal, person to person. Somos españolas y al principio al camarero que nos ha atendido le costaba un poco explicarnos el sistema de pedidos que se hace a través de un código QR, y los platos van pasando por una cinta. Rápidamente ha sido muy diligente para sacar un traductor y explicarnos todo. La comida estaba muy buena, y era de gran calidad. Ha sido una grata sorpresa cuando el camarero nos ha traído una bolsa con la nota “un regalo por las molestias :)”, y dentro había un preparado de sushi especial. Are here a couple of weeks back with the wife while shopping. To be honest, it wasn’t bad. It just wasn’t good either. We’ve eaten sushi all over the world and have been to Japan a few times so perhaps it’s just a case of having high expectations. We’ve never eaten at Yo! before and while I’m not saying we wouldn’t go back, we wouldn’t be in any rush to return. The range of sushi was poor and price-wise, it was a tad expensive given the quality wasn’t what we’ve come to expect. If you want to sit at a bar in a fancy designer shop, this might be the place for you. It all just seemed a bit too pretentious personally.

Attended the sushi making class with my daughter and would recommend to anyone who enjoys sushi and wants to learn the basics to be able to make it yourself. The staff were really warm and welcoming, making the experience really enjoyable. A special mention to Jack who taught the class and was really enthusiastic and knowledgeable. Thank you guys! Experienced dirty plates and seating area.Staff where extremely rude with comments on other guests in the queue which I was totally appalled with.Very limited selection on the menu including what I thought were very basic dishes….. such as vegetable rice and chicken noodles.Rules for one and not others on allowing people into booths as I was told 2 people aren’t allowed in booths only 3 or more but yet a couple were sat in the booth shortly after we were seated.Food was ok but not the standards you would expect as some of the covering dishes provided where dirty with food.The experience has changed completely and isn’t anything like you would expect now after the pandemic but surely they could make that experience slightly better.Ordering online isn’t easy or at all and was not explained to us.Automatically adding a tip for giving zero service or help and explanation is completely unacceptable in my eyes.Overall a very disappointing visit.

We were hoping to visit Yo Sushi for the first time in a long time, and a shopping/eat out experience for us (in almost two years). It was to celebrate a birthday, and to be honest, it never cross my mind it would require a booking and that is on me. I had booked the day off work and unbeknownst to me, it was also school holidays. Again, had I known this, it might have crossed my mind to book.We arrived and there was a shirt queue, and it was moving quickly and there were plenty of seats available. Then a party behind me asked if I had booked. I then was nervous about being turned away because we had no booking (probably why the queue was moving so fast - they were told no tables without booking). We got to the front and was immediately asked for a booking, I advised them we didn't have one. Then was told they didn't have anything until 3pm - moret han a 3 hour wait. It took us about an hour to find a parking spot in Trafford Centre that day, and I am guessing most of those empty tables were due to people trying to find parking spots outside.It kind of ruined the day for us (but again, my fault for not booking), but seriously, you have a queue of people wanting to eat and most of your tables are vacant - and you turn business away.

Covid has really hit this place hard and you can see it from the start. The original concept (and game changing idea) of yo sushi was the conveyor belt of food which you picked as you wanted. Fast and efficient and the option of a menu for those less popular items. This is now obsolete, apart from the food you order. The food was great, however you now have to order and pay for everything in advance using the app (including the wasabi and ginger). We did miss a few items that we ordered and did have to ask for them (it seems another customer had claimed them as theirs). The buttons for service have also been removed (understandably) and you now have to find a team member to get their attention.It’s a real shame as yo sushi was one of our favourite restaurants and if the restrictions aren’t lifted soon then I can honestly see this being the end of the chain and the end of “conveyor belt food”.

One of the chefs had made a small burger for the customer on the table next to ours and when they received it and passed to their younger daughter she took the burger apart to find it had mayo on which she had asked not to have mayo so the parent got the chefs attention and handed it back after also handling the burger herself this was then put on the side right in front of our eye's and another chef requested a burger for another customer and was then told to take that same burger and give it to the other customer i was in total shock so i called the manager who especially in the current circumstances with covid didn't seem to interested in making any attempts to stop the burger reaching the other customer which was absolutely terrible after this we got up and left absolutely disgusting behaviour.

Last visited years ago and my little girl cost us a fortune taking dishes from the conveyor belt!I actually prefer that you now order (on an app) the food you want and the light strip announces its imminent arrival. The atmosphere is a bit lackluster but if you have good company who cares about other people?!So, years later on the recent visit with my daughter and her friend who 'liked sushi', we had a lovely experience (despite me putting my empty dish back on the conveyor belt - I don't know why I did that - I'm sorry!). The service is a little void (no one about, not sure why you'd pay a service charge e.g. no chance of getting another drink). The beef teriyaki, salmon, strawberry mochi all tasty. We really loved it and I can't wait to go back with hubby who hasn't been there before.

Quite shocked at the level of food served, and by no means up to the standard of Yo!Sushi - They really took the mickey on what was plated for us. The nigiri was sliced thinly enough to be called carpaccio and only the length of my sons thumb whose birthday it was, it's a sad day. VERY limited menu now with it being contactless, and looking at pictures on your cellphone to chose is just nonsense. Someone else blame Covid for this, that & the other (Review based on having used Yo!Sushi in various other countries)

I had such an amazing time out for dinner here! The new covid layout doesn’t take away from the experience at all, in fact it’s somewhat more exciting with the LED’s. The food was incredible! It was my boyfriend’s first time trying sushi and it was a success, only thing i’d say is we had to wait quite a while for our drinks but over all it was brill!

I brought 7 year old son for a treat. There’s been a lot less going on recently. Yo has found its own unique way to use the layout, keep safe and re-open. It’s not quite the same as it was, but certainly good enough to want to go back. Food still great, staff v friendly and the traffic light conveyor belt was a hit. I was initially distraught as the hand rolls are currently off the menu. 7 year old was delighted with the new traffic light on the conveyor belt. He tucked in to Maki, Edamame and Mochi.I had perfectly cooked Korean Chicken and California Rolls.Eat Out to Help Out halves the bill and we left planning the next trip.

Vegan review: Dedicated vegan menu with lots of choice. We tried kaiso seaweed, yasai rolls, pak choi and garlic, pumpkin katsu, mushroom teriyaki burger, vegetable fried rice - all delicious - washed down with unlimited miso soup. Excellent service. We went specifically to use a food choice voucher but when we went to pay, they wouldn’t accept the voucher. There was a sign at the till but we didn’t have a reason to go to the till until the end.

When I changed jobs the Trafford center became my nearest yo sushi. The first time I visited I was greeted by a staff member named Matthew, he identified us and came to help us right away. He proceeded to take us to our table pulling out the seats for me and mylady making sure we had a place for our bags. He provided great customer service making sure we had everything we need while still allowing us to enjoy our meal peacefully.This initial experience is the reason I returned a second time as I would just order from a different chain had I not been satisfied. The food tasted and looked great in terms of presentation and subsequent visits I have not seen a drop in standards from the kitchen or the front of house.Due to it being in a selfridges and the Trafford center having limited options outside of the food court it can be quite busy, however its a choice to wait and if you Do it is worth it

After waiting for 25 mins for a table half that was waiting for them to clear it. The selection available on the sushi train was poor to non existent for main food items. There was a selection of desserts sporadically available. I have been to many restaurants around the world. This was by far my worst experience.

First time I have visited a Yo! Sushi (love Japanese food and was excited to try). The visit started off poorly when we were told that the 30% off January offer had been cancelled (with no real explanation as to why other than "the manager's thought it would be a good idea, but it wasn't, so they've pulled the offer"), we had found it advertised earlier in the day, and the main reason we chose to visit here instead of one of the other many restaurants that have the standard January offers. So, we then checked if the £2.50 Wednesday vegetarian offer was on, again, only to be told that this was not starting until the following week. My husband then asked if his blue lights card would be accepted and was told, yes, 20% off. So we ended up staying.I ordered a pumpkin katsu, and disappointed is an understatement. It. tasted like either a packet mix or like it had been stored too long in tupperware. It tasted like plastic and was not enjoyable. The best part of the meal was the mushroom teriyaki burger, which was good, and the only saving grace of the whole meal!When we came to pay we were the told the blue lights card couldn't be used o. Wednesdays. It feels like every offer we had was not valid. Not the staff's fault, but it didn't feel like they understood themselves what offers were available!Overall, not a great experience and food was sub-par. Won't return and won't recommend.

I have visited almost weekly for several years. The staff are always very friendly and the food is good. There is one waitress, Charlie, who is particularly delightful. She is friendly, charming and very welcoming and we always hope she is there when we visit. She would be a credit to any establishment.

We go to Yo Sushi at the Trafford Centre often. I think it is one of the best branches around. The layout and atmosphere is great. If you can try and get a booth but it is generally busy so you have to be lucky to get one!

The food is nice and taking it off the belt is fun. However what really let the whole experience down was the service. A lot of the staff were disinterested, when we asked for help as to which dish was which the waitress shrugged and said you can't really tell.What's more they were quite rude when we asked how to pay.
