This place manages to shine in all seasons. In winter it's a cosy warm pub serving incredibly delicious food. The meals coming out the kitchen smelt so good! But in summer it's perfect for enjoying food and drink outside by the canal.

Such a shame, Christmas eve was a disaster, although we didn't end up paying for 2 of the meals, the staff and the manager didn't get it 😕 it wasn't about the money........all they could say was " sorry it's busy " but it actually wasn't 🤷♀️there was clearly an issue in the kitchen and we'd have much preferred an honest answer. The food was appalling, I wouldn't have even given my dog the dried up excuse for turkey, the food had clearly been under the hot plate for to long as we'd waited 40 minutes for our mains and it was a congealed, burnt mess, but were told by the waitress that ,it couldn't have been as they don't plate the food up until it's ready to go out😒please don't try to lie and make mugs out of the customers. It's a shame as we have a boat and a couple of times throughout the summer have moored up and had lovely meals, probably won't return as it was really awful food and customer service leaves alot to be desired, like I said to the manager, it's not about the money, I'd have preferred honesty.

I can honestly say that the Bridge Inn is the worst pub that I have ever visited. Whilst eating my meal I had the aroma of wet dogs from the 2 tables at my side accompanied by spells of barking. There was then a period of young children being allowed to run riot screaming around the pub whilst parents took no responsibility for their behaviour. I acknowledge that this isn't the fault of the pub but surely they could put in place a standard of acceptable behaviour and why oh why allow dogs in the food area. I couldn't wait to leave and definitely won't be returning or recommending.

Really enjoyed our work night our here. We'd pre-ordered & paid for food in advance, which made it easier. Staff were efficient considering such a big group. Unfortunately, this won't be a good review either. We came on a quiet Monday afternoon, maybe it was a mistake. Their selection of drinks and the thai haloumni cheese is unbeatable, but their mains are ... well, lets just say it needs some improvement. First of all, we ordered duck breast, lamb shank and fish & chips. They didn't have any sort of flavor, the gravy with the duck breast just tasted gravy powder (the cheapest one) and water. Same goes for the lamb. British pub food can have rich flavour (as many pubs have proved it already) doesn't have to taste like nothing. Especially for the price we paid. The service was very basic, nothing outstanding, I wouldn't go back if there was another pub nearby. Sad for a pub what has a lovely interior design and view to the canal.

The service was slow on Sunday, but understandable since it was very busy. Me and a friend got the sharing Sunday roast. Beef: Amazing done, soft and breaks apart. Gammon: Soft and tender. Chicken breast: A little well done and tough for my liking. The Yorkshire’s and sage stuffing was the star of the dish, perfectly done. The potatoes are soft and has a very little crisp to them. Carrots and parsnips were very tender. I’m not a fan of cauliflower and cheese but it was very good. We also had dessert, Bakewell tart perfect. The sticky toffee apple waffle crunch was lovely, it’s basically a waffle with apple crumble.

Nice looking place, on the water, and with a good car park. Food was underwhelming, not bad, it just wasn't as expected. The tower burger sounded like an epic feast on the menu, but didn't deliver in person which was disappointing as so many other places would have. Chicken burger was fine, but again, not what it could have been, just bland really. The creamy fish dish was lovely though. Serving staff just seemed a bit clueless, but polite and without issue, so was maybe just a newbie. It's not a bad place, just not as good as others, so we won't rush back, but wouldn't say no to going again, we'd just all have the fish!

First ever experience of this pub, I walked in and stood at the bar to be served, the young male bartender shoved a large wooden cutlery holder at me and asked me to pass it to one of the tables that was in the eating area! Confused, I said 'I don't work here' and he stroppily repeats 'yeah just pass it to that table there' !! Unbelievable behaviour and attitude to customers! Lovely food unfortunately spoiled by truly awful service. We have enjoyed many a happy time here at the Bridge Inn and looked forward to a nice meal this afternoon. We pre-booked a table for two, rightly or wrongly assuming it was in the restaurant area where we have always been seated after pre-booking. Today on arrival we were met by whom I am guessing was the manageress or supervisor. The welcome wasn't best ever, simply met by 'Are you alright'. I explained we had booked a table for two and then we were simply directed into the bar area where football was being shown on the TV Screen, dogs were present and loud families were sat and told to take our pick of one of two tables that were free. Please do not think that I am in any way against this type of area, it was great to see families enjoying quality time together, but having booked a table for two, it really was not what I was expecting. Thinking that the restaurant area must have been closed for some reason, I went over to take a look. It wasn't closed and in fact all the tables were free and set ready for customers. When our waiter Callum, who was lovely came over I enquired if we could have a table in the restaurant area. He was a little taken aback but kindly said he would ask. We observed Callum speak to the lady who had met us initially and after a few minutes he came over to us and said we could have a table but would need to vacate it by 4.45pm. Given that it was only 2.40pm we gratefully accepted. As we made our way to the restaurant we passed the lady supervisor and I took time to thank her, it was obvious she was not happy as the response was cold. We were not given a choice but were directed to a table right on the edge of the restaurant area, table number 5 to be precise. There were a number of similar tables available but for some reason we were allocated this one. From the moment we sat down we felt very uncomfortable, feeling that we had upset the applecart. The lady supervisor very soon began moving tables around us making it obvious that we were in the way. Tables immediately next to us and only 2 feet away from us were moved around us and noisily so. I acknowledge that It looked like there was a large booking for later that evening but she made it obvious and rudely spoke with other members of staff referring to our table as 'that', saying...'when that's gone we can move it'. The unnecessary and clumsy moving of tables and arranging of cutlery went on for the best part of the time we were eating. Not once did the supervisor come across to ask how our food and dining experience was. The saving grace of today's meal was the quality of the food, Callum and the two young ladies that attended to us. On paying the bill and tipping due solely to the good food and the young waiting on team I did ask to speak to Kevin who was advertised on the chalk board as being head of the team. It was my intention to raise this poor supervisory service with him but was told he wasn't available. Sadly the lady supervisor completely let Kevin's team down today. She made us feel unwelcome, in the way and not worthy of care and attention. Please please look at the example you are setting your young impressionable team, the future of the hospitality industry. The Bridge is a cracking place serving the best food, supervisors please take note and make your customers welcome. Lee

Enjoyed a Sunday lunch here today. The standard of the food was excellent, very tasty. The waiter was a bit clueless: took our drink order then disappeared and we eventually had to call someone else over to ask to order who then sent the lad back and he was "maybe I should write this down" LOL. Perhaps this was his first day. Anyway, the food was delicious, good portion sizes, and there is a good choice of wines too. There used to be more vegan options, so would be better if there were more again, but maybe there are less on a Sunday? We will be back though as we were too full after our mains to have the vegan biscoff cheesecake which is amazing.

Not a good review unfortunately. After weeks of trying to resolve a confirmed food poisoning issue with the manager I have been left no other option but to seek legal advice and consult with the brewery. Attended for a family meal, only to be served microwaved food - fish & chicken - which resulted in us all falling very unwell. The manager contacted me from his holiday the following morning to explain he wanted to deal with this issue personally as it was not the first occasion they have had problems with this particular food/chef. After meeting with the manager upon his return I was informed there would be a full refund on the same day and an alternative compensation to meal vouchers would be discussed. Since this, the manager has failed to respond to any emails, has failed to provide copies of paperwork containing personal information which is a breach of GPDR laws. There has also been fabricated responses copied and pasted to other reviews left, & silent phone calls made to my personal contact number from the landline at the pub. Trafford Council Environmental Health department have also been made aware of this issue, after the manager failed to report this himself. Its such a shame the amazing staff and once fab place to visit is being managed so poorly & such steps are having to be taken to resolve this.

Arrived at the bridge inn for lunch and was seated straight away with a lovely view. Quite cold as the chefs were in and out with food prep which I found a little odd. Our meals arrived and fish looked microwaved as the batter was soggy. The chicken flatbread looked ok but again the chicken was a bit dry like it had been pre cooked and re heated. I travelled from Portsmouth and this meal was meant to be a family treat. We were left quite disappointed. Later in the afternoon / evening approximately 5-6 hours after I had become violently ill and never experienced anything like this in my life. My family had also become poorly all within hours of each other. We made contact with the manager an my family member also returned back to the bridge inn as I was too poorly to do so and he said this could have been a number of reasons why this happened, drinks, ice machine etc and this would be looked into. Forms were also completed on site. We were told that a refund would be given along with compensation. The manager has now ignored numerous emails and we have heard nothing since. I have had investigations and proven to have had food poisoning. We were also told that this kitchen was also closing the week after for a refurbishment. I wish I knew this at the time. Avoid this place at all costs. Management are now responding to our reviews with false information but couldn’t respond to our emails with what was agreed on site. Working in the food industry Kevin I’m shocked that you don’t actually know the correct timeline of when food poisoning can take affect. This is actually 30 mins to 8 hours. This will be taken further.

But I only gave a 3star because we were put on a table right near the kitchen, and the staff were in and out of the kitchen to an outside door and the door was left open and it was cold and really annoying, and there was loads of empty table's as we were the only people in the dining area so I can't understand why we were put there.

I went there for a business lunch and it was my first visit. The restaurant was spotless clean and the place itself had a ‘high end’ vibe to it. The staff were all pleasant and helpful and the service itself was pretty quick. I had the fish, chips with mushy peas and tartare sauce and I was so glad I ordered it. The fish was pretty big and by the ‘white gold’ filling, I could tell it was very fresh. The batter was crispy and light, which is how it’s supposed to be and the chips were nice and crispy on the outside and full of soft potato on the inside. Overall, the meal was delicious and definitely filling. Looking at the prices on the menu, it is reasonably priced but when you balance the price of the meal against the quality of the food served, I’d suggest that you get a great cheap meal. Overall, great location, great atmosphere, great staff and exceptional food!

Love this place! We treat it as our local despite being 3 miles from home. Good beer, nice atmosphere with a great playlist. Lots of community events and plenty of outdoor seats in the summer.

Very good Turkish run cafe in hale. Very good value for money too, not expensive at all considering its hale!
