Visited here in the last few days after they have been renovating the outside area. Now, there is an outside bar and food area where you can order drinks and food. We chose the vegetable pizza, which was delicious, and the Salt and Pepper Squid and Halloumi fries again, which was tasty. You need to visit as we will be back very soon

Nice looking place, on the water, and with a good car park. Food was underwhelming, not bad, it just wasn't as expected. The tower burger sounded like an epic feast on the menu, but didn't deliver in person which was disappointing as so many other places would have. Chicken burger was fine, but again, not what it could have been, just bland really. The creamy fish dish was lovely though. Serving staff just seemed a bit clueless, but polite and without issue, so was maybe just a newbie. It's not a bad place, just not as good as others, so we won't rush back, but wouldn't say no to going again, we'd just all have the fish!

Arrived on Saturday at about 2.30 pm. Car park compact for the size of the place. Very spacious inside and ample table space outside, facing the canal. Waiter Service for drinks was quick and polite. Ordered steak and ale pie with chips and mushy peas. Arrived in 10 minutes - nice and hot. Proper thick cut chips - not frozen or the american type. Did not have a dessert but looked tempting. Toilet facilities good and clean. Staff informative. Would go again if in that area.

First ever experience of this pub, I walked in and stood at the bar to be served, the young male bartender shoved a large wooden cutlery holder at me and asked me to pass it to one of the tables that was in the eating area! Confused, I said 'I don't work here' and he stroppily repeats 'yeah just pass it to that table there' !! Unbelievable behaviour and attitude to customers! Too lazy to take it to the customers table himself, and he's being paid to work there! Will not be returning.

Lovely food unfortunately spoiled by truly awful service. We have enjoyed many a happy time here at the Bridge Inn and looked forward to a nice meal this afternoon. We pre-booked a table for two, rightly or wrongly assuming it was in the restaurant area where we have always been seated after pre-booking. Today on arrival we were met by whom I am guessing was the manageress or supervisor. The welcome wasn't best ever, simply met by 'Are you alright'. I explained we had booked a table for two and then we were simply directed into the bar area where football was being shown on the TV Screen, dogs were present and loud families were sat and told to take our pick of one of two tables that were free. Please do not think that I am in any way against this type of area, it was great to see families enjoying quality time together, but having booked a table for two, it really was not what I was expecting. Thinking that the restaurant area must have been closed for some reason, I went over to take a look. It wasn't closed and in fact all the tables were free and set ready for customers. When our waiter Callum, who was lovely came over I enquired if we could have a table in the restaurant area. He was a little taken aback but kindly said he would ask. We observed Callum speak to the lady who had met us initially and after a few minutes he came over to us and said we could have a table but would need to vacate it by 4.45pm. Given that it was only 2.40pm we gratefully accepted. As we made our way to the restaurant we passed the lady supervisor and I took time to thank her, it was obvious she was not happy as the response was cold. We were not given a choice but were directed to a table right on the edge of the restaurant area, table number 5 to be precise. There were a number of similar tables available but for some reason we were allocated this one. From the moment we sat down we felt very uncomfortable, feeling that we had upset the applecart. The lady supervisor very soon began moving tables around us making it obvious that we were in the way. Tables immediately next to us and only 2 feet away from us were moved around us and noisily so. I acknowledge that It looked like there was a large booking for later that evening but she made it obvious and rudely spoke with other members of staff referring to our table as 'that', saying...'when that's gone we can move it'. The unnecessary and clumsy moving of tables and arranging of cutlery went on for the best part of the time we were eating. Not once did the supervisor come across to ask how our food and dining experience was. The saving grace of today's meal was the quality of the food, Callum and the two young ladies that attended to us. On paying the bill and tipping due solely to the good food and the young waiting on team I did ask to speak to Kevin who was advertised on the chalk board as being head of the team. It was my intention to raise this poor supervisory service with him but was told he wasn't available. Sadly the lady supervisor completely let Kevin's team down today. She made us feel unwelcome, in the way and not worthy of care and attention. Please please look at the example you are setting your young impressionable team, the future of the hospitality industry. The Bridge is a cracking place serving the best food, supervisors please take note and make your customers welcome. Lee

Enjoyed a Sunday lunch here today. The standard of the food was excellent, very tasty. The waiter was a bit clueless: took our drink order then disappeared and we eventually had to call someone else over to ask to order who then sent the lad back and he was "maybe I should write this down" LOL. Perhaps this was his first day. Anyway, the food was delicious, good portion sizes, and there is a good choice of wines too. There used to be more vegan options, so would be better if there were more again, but maybe there are less on a Sunday? We will be back though as we were too full after our mains to have the vegan biscoff cheesecake which is amazing.

Not a good review unfortunately. After weeks of trying to resolve a confirmed food poisoning issue with the manager I have been left no other option but to seek legal advice and consult with the brewery. Attended for a family meal, only to be served microwaved food - fish & chicken - which resulted in us all falling very unwell. The manager contacted me from his holiday the following morning to explain he wanted to deal with this issue personally as it was not the first occasion they have had problems with this particular food/chef. After meeting with the manager upon his return I was informed there would be a full refund on the same day and an alternative compensation to meal vouchers would be discussed. Since this, the manager has failed to respond to any emails, has failed to provide copies of paperwork containing personal information which is a breach of GPDR laws. There has also been fabricated responses copied and pasted to other reviews left, & silent phone calls made to my personal contact number from the landline at the pub. Trafford Council Environmental Health department have also been made aware of this issue, after the manager failed to report this himself. Its such a shame the amazing staff and once fab place to visit is being managed so poorly & such steps are having to be taken to resolve this.

Arrived at the bridge inn for lunch and was seated straight away with a lovely view. Quite cold as the chefs were in and out with food prep which I found a little odd. Our meals arrived and fish looked microwaved as the batter was soggy. The chicken flatbread looked ok but again the chicken was a bit dry like it had been pre cooked and re heated. I travelled from Portsmouth and this meal was meant to be a family treat. We were left quite disappointed. Later in the afternoon / evening approximately 5-6 hours after I had become violently ill and never experienced anything like this in my life. My family had also become poorly all within hours of each other. We made contact with the manager an my family member also returned back to the bridge inn as I was too poorly to do so and he said this could have been a number of reasons why this happened, drinks, ice machine etc and this would be looked into. Forms were also completed on site. We were told that a refund would be given along with compensation. The manager has now ignored numerous emails and we have heard nothing since. I have had investigations and proven to have had food poisoning. We were also told that this kitchen was also closing the week after for a refurbishment. I wish I knew this at the time. Avoid this place at all costs. Management are now responding to our reviews with false information but couldn’t respond to our emails with what was agreed on site. Working in the food industry Kevin I’m shocked that you don’t actually know the correct timeline of when food poisoning can take affect. This is actually 30 mins to 8 hours. This will be taken further.

I went there for a business lunch and it was my first visit. The restaurant was spotless clean and the place itself had a ‘high end’ vibe to it. The staff were all pleasant and helpful and the service itself was pretty quick. I had the fish, chips with mushy peas and tartare sauce and I was so glad I ordered it. The fish was pretty big and by the ‘white gold’ filling, I could tell it was very fresh. The batter was crispy and light, which is how it’s supposed to be and the chips were nice and crispy on the outside and full of soft potato on the inside. Overall, the meal was delicious and definitely filling. Looking at the prices on the menu, it is reasonably priced but when you balance the price of the meal against the quality of the food served, I’d suggest that you get a great cheap meal. Overall, great location, great atmosphere, great staff and exceptional food!

Poor service had a booking cancelled without prior notice which has been book for weeks for Mother’s Day disappointed for a regular customer will not be retuning . The reply from the restaurant is a lie! I have never received any emails from the restaurant asking for myself to contact them. I did receive 1 email saying it was cancelled (see photo) it was on a Monday not Tuesday and it also doesn’t say anything about contacting the restaurant to re arrange a different slot. It just says the booking is cancelled. This booking wasn’t made via a email. If you hadn’t had a response after emailing someone 3 times wouldn’t a courtesy phone call be made to the client to double check ? That never happened I called myself after receiving the email and was told there are no slots until 7pm ( booking was for 12.30pm) they have obviously over booked and dont care. The bridge inn has failed in customer service and lost a regular customer. Thank you

Can't judge the food as we haven't dined here since the last people who ran it were in charge. This time, we just had a drink sat on the upper terrace. There was a good feeling to the evening, and the fading sunshine led to a warm atmosphere. The people were happy, the service had improved somewhat on what we had experienced a while back before we fell out with the place due to the attitude of the front of house staff. Slowly but surely, this pub is finally returning to the place that it should be in the local community and a place that people can use as a local without the feeling that it is trying to be something that it is not such as a "Gastro Pub" which is such an outdated concept. I've just been in again in glorious weather, and the service is good. I've been in a few times this week. We have a bottle of wine to share, and last Sunday, we had a meal. My lamb shank was gorgeous, and the Mash was lovely, gravy not to salty, and the veg cooked really well. My wife had the cheese and onion pie and loved it. I've got an HND in Hotel & Catering, so I'm quite critical when eating out. This place is on the up. Well done. Back in again tonight, hospitality is great and staff wonderful. We can't recommend this place enough. Cannot update this review as the place is still as good. Went in for a meal tonight. My wife had the cheese pie, I had the sweet maple bacon chop, our long-term friends had the soup and bread with chips on the side, and the lamb shank. All I can say is the food was superb and a hike up from the last ownership. If I keep on adding to this review I'll run out of space.

I marked down one on the atmosphere as there were very few people in to get a true feel, it was noon on a Monday after all, but the staff and other patrons made it a friendly and accommodating place. I didn't score on the food as I didn't eat. I hope this doesn't negatively impact the ratings.

We visited The Bridge for dinner this evening(1st November 2023). The duck rolls were the best I had ever tasted and was accompanied with side dish of very tasty sauce. The salt and pepper chicken was crispy and just perfect. The main course of sea bass with new potatoes was a delight. My wife had braised lamb shank for the third time! If you visit please leave enough room for the bread and butter pudding which I have had at least 4 times and is my favourite ever! The wine is always served chilled at the correct temperature. I hate being served warm wine! Our choice is “Outnumbered” Sauvignon Blanc. I had read some negative recent reviews and I asked the manager who I think is named Kevin about this and he accepted that standards had dipped mainly because he had been summoned away to sort out a pub in Chorley, but he has now returned and assured us that he is now running a very tight ship with a permanent kitchen team which was evident as we had a very pleasurable dining experience. We have already booked out next visit!!

Sunday roast beef was OK. Yorkshire pudding, soggy. Vegetables OK. Extremely busy, not enough staff, had to wait 40 minutes for meal to arrive. Service good, despite it being Dan's first day. No starters offered and no biscuit with coffee. No dish recommended

We used to love visiting the Bridge but the last couple of visits (and particularly this one) have been poor. Most of the food was of good quality, but they brought out the wrong sides or missed off elements that were on the menu. And the waiting was horrendous. We were there for just over 2 hours and that’s how long it took to serve 2 courses. It would have been longer had we not lost our patience and gone up to the bar staff to demand they take our orders. The staff looked poorly trained and would rather hide behind the bar nattering away with each other, than actually serving people. One particular member of staff spent a good 15 mins stroking someone’s dog (yes I did get so fed up that I counted!) rather than actually doing her job. The guy I presume was the manager seemed disinterested when we told him the chicken wraps were dry. The real kicker was when I was asked to contribute to a staff tip at the end - they got a flat refusal from me. The staffing team ruined this visit for us and I for one won’t be back in a hurry

Location, decor, beer and vegetables were good, but my shank of lamb meat was hard and chewy, fortunately they are dog friendly, so the dogs had a feast

We had our daughter's first birthday party here in October. The staff were nice and great helping out, everything went smoothly for us and the guests had a great time. We had a food selection of pizza and chicken which was perfect as well. We'd definitely recommend it for anyone in the area wanting a decent space to have a get together. Thanks again to the whole team.

First time there in a year or so due to moving out of the area but it is even nicer than it was then. The menu has had an overhaul and there is definitely something for everyone! I had the cheese and onion pie which was amazing and others I was with had the burger, lamb shanks and steak and they all really enjoyed it too! We were sat in the conservatory which was gorgeous (even though it was raining!). My only complaint was the beers had MASSIVE heads on them which weren't cut off... hence beer dripping everywhere! Thank you to the chefs and the team for a lovely meal out

Went this evening with my family, as we used to love this place. The Childrens food was passable, but the butterfly fillet chicken burgers were half a small fillet, cut in half, cooked within an inch of its life. The buns were dried out and the coleslaw was definitely off! Couldn’t eat it. The main bar man was extremely rude and more interesting in chatting with locals, than serving ice cream to my young kids. We had to cancel the last drinks order, as it still wasn’t with us after 20 minutes, and the place was not busy. Unfortunately, won’t go back. Such a shame.

Hugely disappointed. We used to love The Bridge, and regularly visited. It has since changed hands and we won’t return. Service was on the whole rude and extra slow, apart from one very young waitress who was friendly, everyone was rude and inefficient. The food was diabolical - took ages and so expensive for a dried up and small Cajun chicken burger. The chicken was tough as it was so over cooked. We ordered a second round of drinks which I had to cancel as they never arrived, it was all in all a hugely disappointing visit. And gutted such a previously lovely pub has lost its wining edge.

The lamb shank was absolutely amazing unfortunately I ordered a veg curry which was quite bland (it was though the curry paste wasn’t used) but the rice and veg/beans were cooked well. I will definitely return as the service was great, the lamb shank was excellent and it has one of the most scenic gardens around.
