Yo! Sushi Brent Cross in Barnet

I love Yo Sushi but this one wow, it was vile. Everything was dirty, no one cleaned up the plates next to us. The service was pretty bad, took a while to even get soy sauce. Very dingy lighting. They hadn’t updated the menu as they had in other Yo Sushi’s. Overall, i’d give this branch a miss.

Very poor hygiene. Dirty tables and kitchen. The cook who fried noodles used his bare hands to put the noodles dropped on the bench back to the bowls then served it to the customers. A bag of Raw salmon taken from fridge were left on the working table for 10 minutes at room temperature and then put back to fridge.

Covid has ruined the vibe: no conveyor belt which was the reason to go. The service was terrible with staff not having a clue about the menu. And you had to order using the App. Will go somewhere else next time.

First things first, pre-pandemic, I was a loyal YO!Sushi customer, going one of their restaurants at least twice a week. Probably, the "only" reason for going to YO! was the sushi (nowadays they are more like sushi-like-things) on the belt. My kids loved the experience. I assume post pandemic, they have decided to kill the belt idea and introduced a "scan - order by phone - pay by phone" system. Now, this means "if you do not have a smartphone", you do not have a chance to eat sushi. More, even if you have a smartphone, if the restaurant-like shop is located at a coverage-blackhole, you do not have a chance to eat sushi. The only way is using their "wi-fi", by giving lots of information, just for the sake of ordering sushi. And even then, you cannot order several dishes as they are unavailable (but you can only learn the unavailability from a staff, if you can find one). Finally, the staff tries to find a solution, and takes the order (and if this was possible, why on earth this was not done despite my requests?) And guess what, the order is wrong. We have been served things we have not asked for (waiter did not clean the previous "basket"). It was an awful experience and I assume it will be the last.

Although the restaurant itself looks very tired, I could not fault the staffs enthusiasm or the food. The teriyaki chicken and popcorn shrimp were delicious.

I am not sure why Yo Sushi have decided to get rid of the only thing they are known best for; the conveyor belt. Ordering is now on your phone, the whole experience is awful and the standard of food has decreased. I used to love coming here for lunch but will not be revisiting unless the quality and appeal pre-pandemic returns.

I was bitterly disappointed to find there was no food on the belt and you needed to order food and pay on an app. The staff were basically working in an open plan kitchen making food for takeaways and customers. There as fun or any atmosphere - it just left me feeling depressed (I might as well as ordered from Deliveroo)

A fabulous welcome, food and service. The team are very welcoming and always remember my order even before I’ve placed it. They make me feel welcome and at home.

I always look forward to eating at Yo Sushi whenever I go to Brent Cross. The food is always fresh and delicious. The staff are courteous and friendly. I missed this place so much during lockdown. I look forward to many more trips to Yo Sushi, definitely a place I would recommend.

We went on Saturday before seeing Ed Sheeran. We didn’t have much time so needed something quick. A lovely lady showed us to our space and we ordered on our phone. Everything was quick and the food was sooo tasty! Well done guys.

Definitely a place in decline. Inexperienced waiters. Food comes out in a senseless way rice first then cold dishes, do of course the rice is cold. All in all feels like a cheap experience which isn’t cheap for a quick meal. The quirkiness has gone and the food doesn’t feel that special. No conveyor belt, new ordering system less tasty food and clueless staff. Will not be rushing back!

This was a fun and well organised class. I went with my boyfriend to the Brent cross branch and there was one other couple in the class. Our fantastic class leader Peak taught us how to cut the fish, cook the rice and how to make nigiri, maki, inside out rolls and gunkan. He was great at running the class and the sushi we made was delicious. Overall it was a great experience!

A great day learning to make sushi. Very informative and thorough. Our instructor Peak was lovely and made our class fun. Highly recommend for couples fun activity. You get to take everything you make home with you.

A really fun couple of hours learning to make several types of sushi. Run by the very friendly and helpful restaurant manager, 'Peak', this was more than just an instructional session, but also included history of sushi, techniques (eg how to get the rice flavour just right) and not just how to do it but why as well. Great for kids. Small class (6 of us) and each person makes enough sushi to feed three! Highly recommended. One word of caution - we did this at the Yo Sushi at Brent Cross in the morning before the mall opened to the public. Carparks were all closed and the mall's entrances were locked so you'll need to ensure that the Yo Sushi staff arrange for access.

We faced with a really good service in this sushi bar. First of all, there work super professional sushi chef Loreta, she was very polite and friendly, explained all coloured plates policy :) she was interested what we would like to try and offered the best sushi options I have ever tried.

So there shouldn't be a difference, but this branch does seem to be the best one so far, and we tend to pop in every few months. We prefer the layout, and generally there does seem to be a better range that is automatically put on the belt. We personally aren't so keen on Blue Monday - it doesn't seem to have the stuff we really like - so you might want to plan when you go - weekends are particularly busy.

I have taken my folks to Yo! Sushi today for lunch. 5 Of us was expecting a sushi festive but there was no tuna and any sorts of prawn. Only Salmon. And rest of the the sushi's was with eggs, chicken and beef. Such a sushi experience it was. plus there were ketchup and mayo on tp of most of the sushi. My first ever visit to a Yo Sushi as I was always misled by the name thinking there is only Sushi available and how wrong was I and so a little embarrassed to say the least.

Brought it as a birthday gift for my friend from buy a gift and from beginning to end it was a lovely experience. I was able to email the manager at Brent cross and organised for us to attend the work shop which was for two hours and the manger Peak came back to me very quickly and booked us in. On the morning we were greeted by the manager Peak again who took the work shop and who was very knowledgeable,charming, professional and made the whole experience an extremely enjoyable one. We were shown the different techniques on making sushi, my friend was vegan and was well catered for with food to use and after eating Sushi that we had made we were still left with a lot of sushi at the end that we could take home. I would highly recommend this sushi making workshop and would like to thank Peak for making it such an enjoyable experience.

Difficult to find store if you are not pay attention so you might go straight to the food hall upstairs. Friendly staff and good quality of food compare to another take away Japanese shop in the shopping centre. Avoid to go on Monday the blue promo so too many people. Went there last week and as usual food is good and as you take most of your food off a conveyor belt there is little need for service. I find that if you order off the menu rather then off the belt the food comes hotter and has an edge over food from the belt. Their prices are a little on the steep side and you only figure this out when you get your bill. As the dishes are all colour coded and you pay a different price for each colour dish you take. Worth visiting once in a while but not a regular for me.

Cuando vine a que me pareció que estaba un poco fría, pero tenía un ambiente agradable. El personal era muy acogedor y muy divertido y educado! Realmente la vida al lugar braught aunque BRENT CROSS centro parecía un lil dreery! Gente fantástica. Buena comida sólida. Nos lo pasamos de maravilla y yo probamos un montón de cosas nuevas. El estándar de Sushi yo normalmente bien y este restaurante no fue una excepción. Pero con un ambiente aburrido con los funcionada del aire acondicionado y el hecho de que mucho de los platos como la sopa de miso y berenjena todos eran demasiado salado, esta rama fue sin duda uno de los peores años de sushi que he estado.

My children spotted Yo!Sushi on a trip to Brent Cross over a year ago and have been nagging me to take them there ever since, so my son then decided he’d like to go there as a birthday treat. Fortunately his birthday fell on a Monday when the restaurant has a special offer called “blue Monday” when a lot of the more expensive dishes come out on blue plates, which are at the cheaper end of the price range. It wasn’t particularly cheap, £125ish for 5 of us (3 adults, 2 children) and that was with the blue Monday deal, but was definitely worth it, the food was delicious, even the less adventurous of our party enjoyed it. In particular the chicken and duck gyoza were delicious. We all loved the conveyor belt, especially the kids. Daughter was a huge fan of the Mochi cakes and marble soda. Staff were friendly and helpful. We’ll definitely be returning!

Am a new convert to sushi and am very particular. I was shopping alone and really fancied it. I’m trying to be healthy also so thought I’d give it a try. I had the round rice roll with salmon and avocado. Also Tuna on rice, salmon on rice and also plain slices of salmon on its own. The food was amazing but it was kind of pricey. I suppose it’s a little treat so overall I was happy. Have a go!!
