Always rate Yo sushi fairly highly as a chain. Much higher than most chains due to the quality of the food and love the belt (here and at other places with similar concept). Very big independent advocate but Yo Sushi is an exception. Had the new bottomless belt booking this evening which was an absolute steal, £30 pp. Thought they might just serve up a poor amount/lower end of the menu being bottomless but almost everything on the plates menu was on offer throughout the 90mins. 24 plates between 2. Absolute gluttony. Amazing. Would recommend.

Disappointing all round. Service was non existent, waited at the door in front of the sign, with no one getting to us. We went in, still took a good while to notice us. They told us to wait and sit outside while they prepare a table. I went to the toilet while my parents waited…the table was prepared when I came down from the loo and parents were still waiting and table was made so I grabbed my parents and let them in. The service is shocking!!! I’m not sure if it’s because it’s full of students working there or servers just don’t give a hoot what they’re doing. Asked for a few things at the table but our server forgot most things we asked for ie, green tea, napkins. When it came to ordering many items were off the menu, most were ‘out of stock’. Frustrating! Ordered squid…not in stock, asked for fried rice …out of stock … then asked for yaki soba…. The young clueless server said there were no vegetables for the yaki soba…. Ridiculous! Food is ok, service awful. Go and spend your hard earned cash somewhere else! This is a pathetic excuse for a restaurant!

Hadn’t visited for quite a few years, my son picked this over Wagamamas and wanted to try some new food and due to previous positive experiences myself I said yes. Katsu Chicken was just ok, the sauce was quite runny with not a lot of flavour. Hoisin Duck loaded fries were nice. Prawn crackers were soggy. Edamame beans were inedible, we ate 2 and left the rest of the bowl on the table, was surprised they didn’t ask if everything was ok (but also appreciate I could have said something but felt awkward). Was undercharged which was only picked up because I asked for a receipt then they noticed (I wasn’t aware as I assumed they’d charged me correctly anyway). I was initially aware because they stood very close to the table talking about it and laughing about who would have the conversation about needing to ask me for more money. Made me feel really uncomfortable. No problem at all needing to pay more but at least be professional about it and not stand near the table and laugh. Really disappointing.

I think the waitress was very busy talking to her friends it seems a shame to interrupt some of the worst service I have ever had, the food was tasty, but since the last time I visited the portions have halved, we left after managing to interrupt the waitress to get the bill still hungry after spending £58.00 on two soft drinks and tea sauces of portions, that was the last time I visit never again. and I wonder why chains like this are closing.

Booked a table online. Seated and served promptly. QR code for ordering was easy to use and the new tally up your order until your ready to pay is easier. The food was beautiful. The 1x female chef saw the waitress was busy and that we were ready to leave so brought the card reader over to us. 20% forces discount is an added bonus

Nice tasty food. That's the good bit over :). Over complex menu and ordering system that requires you to order on your phone, unless you are taking dishes of the conveyor belt. So that's all very clear. I would personally prefer to speak to someone to order food. And getting the attention of serving staff is challenging. Overall, after spending £43 for lunch for two people, I left thinking I could kill a burger, I was so hungry for something substantial. The food was expensive for what it was. I'm glad I tried it, but would I go back? Probably not.

We went on Pride day and was greeted at the door and was told there were seats at the bar . Followed the server and was showed to our seats, they explained how the app works, 1 person has an allergy and they brought us a card with a code to scan that told us the dishes with allergies in it. Food came quickly and hot. They now have a belt with lots of different dishes on it. Saw them checking the belt to make sure it was fresh. Overall, it was a great place with very friendly servers. 5 stars

Overall service was poor, hard to get staff attention for top up of unlimited green tea and miso soup, when asked for bill disappears and took 10 mins to come back for us to pay. Lots of items unavailable. Ordering on app is a pain as poor signal (even thier own WiFi is poor) and site keeps crashing. Everything takes twice as long. Food itself was good

We loved this restaurant. However, although we keep trying, the management have struggled to keep the eat-in experience positive. Family celebrations allowed for a meal out - Yo was the choice! Upon arrival, it is (again) explained that we order and pay via the app. However, only for hot food now! Cold food needs to come off the carousel and we cannot order any cold unless it’s not being conveyed around. Confusing, but workable. We go to log in on, but there is no 4G signal and no in-house wi-fi. We all look at each other with thst “let’s compare phone signal” look to see who can find a network. The waitress, well trained in this area, suggests “you can sometimes get a signal from Chantry place” but confirms no in-house wi-fi. I think we all know why this review is heading south. We did eventually get on, order some starters and drinks and press checkout - only to discover the app does not link to Apple Pay, wallet or PayPal. To cut to the chase, YO! Norwich - buy a router and help your guests get ordering by updating your app. In addition, please don’t prioritise delivery drivers over your restaurant covers. Sadly, we won’t be returning anytime soon.

Came here recently for dinner. I've had a bad experience from this branch before, but decided to give a second chance - unfortunately, this didn't do much to change my initial opinion. I was seated quickly, and the service was friendly and helpful, and I think that was the silver lining in this experience. Trying to order was difficult - I encountered a number of issues while trying to order through the QR code which felt frustrating. The conveyor belt is a cool concept, but I found it difficult to tell what dishes I could and couldn't have, and most of the dishes I'm able to eat never appeared unfortunately. Eventually, I managed to place an order through the app - the food was nice, but a smaller portion than I'd hoped, especially for the price. Overall, the experience felt disappointing and frustrating, and while the service was good and the staff tried to help, I opted against ordering any more and decided to leave. I wouldn't recommend coming here, plenty of other good choices of restaurants nearby that provide a better experience.

I’ve always enjoyed YO Throughout the years but the last couple of times just left me disappointed! First of all the ordering system is a mess especially if you want drinks or items from the menu. Why do I need to glue my face into my mobile to order when I’m supposed to relax and enjoy the food and the company that I’m with? Then you get your items from the belt on a separate bill from the items that you’ve ordered on the phone which is a bit confusing and not convenient at all! I’ve ordered couple of beers and they served the glasses all stained with finger prints so We decided to drink it straight from the bottle. The belt didn’t have enough plates/options to choose from and the same 4 plates kept rotating even though the restaurant is busy which doesn’t make any sense! I’ve eventually ended paying for £75 quid for a total mess of an experience and me and my company left the place feeling that we could’ve enjoyed our afternoon meal somewhere els where service and quality of food would be 10 times better than what we got.

I always enjpy sushi, sashimi and the menu dishes at Yo, but sometimes cannot get there so we get a delivery. Wasabi is an important part of the sushi experience for me and they have plenty on the tables, but none in the pre-made packs that they delivery, so i feel I missed out. It's not neally so good with just soy sauce

We were camping near King’s Lynn and made a special trip to Norwich just to visit Yo Sushi (There are none anywhere near where we live), Thankfully we were not disappointed - the staff were very helpful and polite, the food was fantastic. If the idea of raw fish puts you off, try the Beef Teriyaki. It is unbelievable!

First visit to Yo! since the reopening. Place was quiet, staff seemed disinterested at best...OK, but then having struggled with the online menu (the dish my wife always has wasn't on there but when queried if they could prepare it, magically turned up on the menu) I found to my horror that they no longer have bottles of wine! If you want wine now it is just awful little 187ml plastic glasses filled with ghastly cheap sarsons. Now who at Yo! HQ thought it would be a good idea to deny customers the highest margin product they offered?? Won't be going back unless they change this stance - might as well have Deliveroo bring it to me so I can have a bottle of wine with their food at home!

Went Friday 1st evening with my dad as a pre show meal.absolutely fabulous service with food made fresh to order and tasted devine. Thankyou to all the staff who made it a great night with little fuss or worry. Loving the new belt design although one point didn't seem to want to stop more than 2 second which made for a memorable moment rushing to catch the plate . The idea of visiting yo! Is to sit and feast with your eyes before you settle into a tasty and well made dish. With the changes made due to the pandemic this ago has been lost its very much sit order what you know you like and leave. As a selective sushi eater I like to try one new dosh on a visit. Was nice to get a taste of yo again however bit dissappointed of alot of the menu gone and alot of what i go there for to be gone so wasnt much there i was after.. but what i had was good, had a few mess ups on orders.. as a new system done on your phone is good and bad.. not ideal and your stuffed if you dont have wifi or if phones dies in shop... ALSO WANT THE CRISPY CRAB BACK ON MENU! dissapointed isnt the word to have my favourite dishes gone from yo sushi.. so gets a 3/5 rating from me..

I had the chicken and prawn gyozas delivered with boiled rice. The gyozas were greasy and soggy and the rice was plasticey. I do not recommend this place.

It was lovely to get my food on time, I’ve ordered from Just Eat in last couple of weeks; Dragon Palace delivering an hour early and from Spice Valley to get it an hour late! My Yo Rolls were nice, the katsu curry was a little dry, Chicken Gyoza was tasty. All arrived warm.

This was a delivery through Just Eat, the bag was broken, left on my doorstep, food spilled on to the ground, the rest was cold and unpleasant. The Just Eat driver was apologetic and said the bag had spilt at the restaurant so he told them and they stuffed it into another bag which them split. So I phoned the rsetaurant and lady said yes they hhad repacked it as the bag was overfull, but they just stuffed it again into another bag and it was not their responsibility. So food was missing, food was cold and all less than pleasant; we had cold miso soup, cold gyozo, cold squid, korean chicken on the floor, sushi without mustard or ginger which is outside on the ground; all in all, atrocious and then they try to blame the driver but it really was their fault for not packing it properly. Just Eat did give me a refund for some of the bill, which of course i have to sepnd via just eat. Such a shame as we usually enjoy eating there, but it now seems they don't care enough about deliveries

never felt need to write a review before now but felt annoyed at what was seen on thursday in light of covid. a group of 9 ish were allowed in to eat together near the stairs. including children running about the place and no masks when getting up and down ffrom seats. staff could be heard to complain to the person I assume was in charge but were clearly ignored. those sat in the long area at the end were packed in with only 1 small chair between other people. definitely not social distancing as I know it. expected better than all this. it all happened around midday ish. it's a shame because the food here is actually quite good

Nuestra primera visita desde la reapertura. Nos encanta Yo Sushi, así que estábamos emocionados de verlo reabrir. Hay menos platos en el menú, pero la mayoría de nuestros favoritos todavía estaban allí y, de todos modos, entendemos que sin duda hubo que hacer sacrificios para aumentar las medidas para el COVID. Obviamente, han quitado los grifos de agua de la mesa, pero hay agua del grifo ilimitada y gratuita en la aplicación para pedir. En general, nos encantó.

Solíamos visitar a Yo regularmente antes del bloqueo y no nos decepcionó después de visitar el nuevo sistema. Anoche reservamos una comida (3 personas) y, desde el primer momento, no fue un buen comienzo, nos paramos en el letrero que dice "espera aquí para estar sentado". Fuimos recibidos o, mejor dicho, no recibidos por una mujer que dijo en un tono que se usaría si un extraño intentara entrar en su casa inesperadamente: "¿Puedo ayudarlo?" ? 'Nos saludamos, tenemos una mesa reservada para las 7:30. Después de esto, ella extiende su mano en forma de señal de alto y dice '¿puede simplemente retroceder, porque existen las pautas del gobierno de distancia social de 2 metros' (mientras nos paramos en el letrero que dice espere aquí y todos completamente enmascarados) . La comida, como siempre, fue buena, pero es una verdadera lástima que algunas personas parezcan tener algún tipo de viaje de poder con Covid, y como ciudadanos respetuosos de Covid, siento que a algunos se les ha subido la autoridad a la cabeza y, a su vez, no se comunican. a sus clientes que pagan como seres humanos. Respetamos las reglas y las pautas, pero creo que es ridículo cómo nos habló este miembro del personal en particular y espero que nuestra experiencia al respecto sea única y que no se le hable a nadie más de manera tan grosera. Visité Yo con la familia y fue, con mucho, la mejor visita a esta cadena hasta ahora. El personal de la sucursal de Norwich fue fantástico y explicó el nuevo sistema de manera muy rápida y sencilla, y debo decir que creo que este es el camino a seguir para esta empresa. En lugar del habitual desfile de comida, puedes pedir del menú a través de tu teléfono y pagar por adelantado, por lo que fue infinitamente más fácil controlar el gasto que preocuparte por todos los platos de diferentes colores que se apilan y tratan de contar mientras avanzas. Toda nuestra comida llegó a los pocos minutos de haberla pedido y fue genial tener todo para comer en la mesa a la vez. Además, el acuerdo actual del 50% realmente ayudó a la factura. Recomendado para todos los fanáticos del sushi:)

Went to a Yo restaurant for the first time in years and it won’t be the last believe me. The staff was amazing and constantly helpful throughout the night. The food was just beautiful and amazing made by such an amazing cooking team. It was one of the best meals out I’ve had for a long long time and will definitely be returning in the future. Everyone really needs to go here because they will have an experience they will never forget :)

Booking a table was easy and we didn't wait long outside to be seated. The new ordering system was explained to us, and it's simple but clever. Ordering food via the app, I forgot to put in the code for the 50%, Sally rectified for me. Staff were all really helpful, and on hand to answer any queries. The restaurant and toilets were clean.Food was delicious and although the menu is limited at the moment, we were able to order lots of delicious dishes (and even tried new ones). Food came out quickly and the hot dishes were hot, and the sushi was fresh. Big shout out to Sally and the team who are doing an amazing job and creating a friendly fun atmosphere. Possibly the best Yo Sushi restaurant I have been to so far.

Came here recently for bubble tea with friends. Ordering and payment is done on electronic panels, and there's lots of cool choices on offer. Service is pretty fast, and the prices are okay for the size. They taste decent too. Overall, a fairly happy experience!

I'm a sushi LOVER, and I have to admit I've walked past this place many times because it didn't look appealing from the outside. Today, I stopped by M&S for a quick sushi snack, but their offering was £6 and looked awful. So, I decided to check this place out, and I was blown away by the freshness of the fish. I got emotional with my first bite 🥹I didn’t realize it could taste this good! My husband and I usually go to Shiki because the owner is Japanese, and the food is great, but this place is way cheaper with flavors that feel much more premium. I mean it! From today this place officially become my new favorite sushi spot! I was the Filipino girl who got a takeaway earlier by the way..free meal perhaps for a lovely review? 😅 On a serious note… I don’t usually write reviews—this is only my second one ever—but this place deserves it. And yes, I know I have red wine in the photo; I’m aware it's traditionally paired with white 😂😂 but I’m just not a fan of white wine…sooo shhh… I'm a red wine lover through and through! Definitely will be coming back again 🥰🥰🥰

Relaxed atmosphere, great service and authentic flavours! We got miso soup ,ebi katsu , wakame salad, veggie volcano rolls, veggie gyoza and ebi ten rolls and it was more than enough for 2 people. Everything was prepared with fresh ingredients and tasted amazing!!
