Best pork ramen I’ve had! Staff was very nice. Everyone in our group loved their food. And was able to get a last minute reservation for 5!

This place is a Norwich treasure. A superb slice of authentic Japan through familiar and accessible food. I eat here regularly for lunch. The chef(s) are trained in Japan, or at least in the traditional manner and produce reliably high quality food from what are clearly superior ingredients. I have had Japanese food my whole life and lived in Japan, so finding a place like this was brilliant, but a total newbie or nervous eater would have no problem here. It is the sort of restaurant that would draw a huge following in the middle of any big global city. The price is correct for the years of training, location, and quality of produce. The proof is the quality of the food.

Came for dinner with family. Has great range of Japanese cuisine. Food is always delicious and hot. Very friendly waiters and staff. One of the hidden gems in norwich.

Service was brilliant and the food was good. Surprised that service charge wasn't included in the bill. Considering how attentive, quick and efficient the service was I would recommend paying whatever you feel comfortable for the service charge.

The bone broth ramen was out of this world. So good

The food was delicious 😋 I had the prawn tempura to start, the ramen noodle soup and a green tea ice cream to finish (it was a lot of food!). Will come again for sure, thanks 😊

Blown away by this little miracle of a place. Came in quite late but they were able to seat us and deliver some really fantastic food. All tastes and types will find something to enjoy, and their selection of alcohol was incredible! Will definitely be visiting again 😁

The price is at the pricey end but the food is generally quite nice.

I've been told good things about this place, but I was quite disappointed. Let's start that their Tonkotsu Ramen was below average. I though maybe it was only me, but my friends that came with me confirmed that as well. It does not help that there wasn't a lot of ramen and the price of it is £19. I can't justify that it. We left just under £100 as 3 people. The atmosphere needs work as well, actually a lot. The place feels empty and grim. The only redeeming part was the service. The people working there were great. But at the end, I would not recommend going there.

Authentic Japanese food They’re not offering any sushi anymore but some extra vegetarian options have been added to the menu. Highly recommend the Teriyaki tofu steak. Soft silken tofu coated in crispy skin. Perfect with the teriyaki sauce. The stir-fry vegetables are the extra plus so you don’t have to order a vegetable side. Friendly staff and comfortable environment with Japanese decor.

Phenomenal… the only word for this place. Divine food with outstanding service from everyone especially Jordan. Will 100% be returning again! Thank you guys!

Amazing gem of a place. The food was delicious and would highly recommend the ramen. Great variety of dishes and sushi. The sake was lovely too. Staff super friendly and the whole atmosphere was perfect. Update: been again for lunch and it was also amazing. Had the pork katsu which came with mizo and rice. So so nice. The pork was tender and delicious. Had a lovely pot of green tea with it

I was recommended to go to this restaurant to have Sushi but when I went there the sushi was not available anymore. I had other raw fish and rice and but the quality was not good. I wouldn't recommend to go there to have fresh fish menu. But other lunch menu prices were affordable.

Tasty, authentic-like food and nice ambience! Very friendly and professional staff. Some suggestions for improvement: The agedashidofu could have been a little bit more flavorful and the tonkotsu broth tasted a bit like chicken instead of pork. Also, the glasses had a weird smell. Other than that, very nice restaurant

Soyokaze remains the best Japanese restaurant in Norwich although the portion size has noticeably dropped which is understandable due to rising costs. The pork katsu was great but the eel was not as good as it used to be.

The food and service is lovely, however unfortunately half of the vegetarian and vegan options either contain fish stock or are cooked in the same oil as fish and therefore there are very limited options. Perhaps you could find an alternative way of cooking the veggie options to allow for more choices, as we would’ve loved to order a lot more off the menu but were unable to.

Fantastic spot for solo or group sushi and more. Great quality food. Cool dining room.

Good, simple food that tastes great.

I went with a friend a couple of weeks ago, the food I had was nice (vegetarian) but I wish there were more vegie options. I was also disappointed that there wasn't a vegetarian ramen. My friend did not enjoy her food as much, but what I had was lovely. It was a bit awkward as they brought food randomly, I got my first dish, and my friend kept waiting, I got my second dish, and my friend kept waiting, then her food came and I kept waiting, her second dish came and I was still waiting, then, I had my main! It was just awkward. It was a good experience but I won't be back.

Excellent fresh sushi, cosy atmosphere and friendly staff. Portions were slightly on the small side but they were quality. The attention to detail in their cutlery choice is also impressive.

Beautifully understated spot. The Ramen was insanely good - I don’t how they did it but the broth was more porky than the pork - just delicious! I’m talking @offmenuofficial good!

Probably the best Japanese restaurant in Norwich, excellent service and cozy atmosphere. One of if not the only place with genuine ramen. Gyoza and sushi were good as well, very fresh salmon.

Fantastic Japanese food. Their ramen is famous in local circles, sushi is always delicious and the staff are always warm and welcoming.

Absolutely wonderful little joint. We ordered a bit of everything. It was all wonderfully well presented and looked professionally preparred and laid out upon arrival at our table. The sushi, sashimi, everything was incredibly tasty and flavourful. However, for me personally the biggest standout dish were the Volanco rolls. I have not been able to stop thinking about them since and I almost came back the next day for more, but unfortunately it was a Sunday and Soyokaze was closed. I have also been singing their praises to everyone I've spoken to about our night at Soyokaze. I will absolutely be coming back again. I would give 11/10 if I could. And Soyokaze is in the running for my favourite eatery in Norwich. Incredible.

A simple and satisfying menu with great service

Went for a special occasion, a little disappointed. Other diners were loud, forever getting up and down, taking calls, going in and out which ruined our lunch. The glasses were water marked. The food was enjoyable and staff were extremely friendly and helpful.

Delicious food and quite affordable. The pork tonkotsu ramen was the best I ever had in the UK.

Lovely food and nice helpful staff. Couldn't finish the ramen I was so full. Quite expensive for what it is, but everything is now I suppose. It is very tiny downstairs we didn't really enjoy our meal because a very large noisy party sat less than a foot from us and people brushing past us constantly up and down to answer their phones. Would certainly try again if upstairs is a little roomier.

If you’re looking for authentic and really yummy sushi this is not the place. However- ambiance is lovely, the decor and plates are very pretty

This is a very popular place to eat ! It’s a really fab Japanese. Food is utterly delicious. We had a selection of hot and cold dishes . All really great - The sashimi was particularly tasty. Would thoroughly recommend

Delicious food that is always freshly made. To avoid disappointment, book in advance as they are often booked up. Staff are always very friendly and prices are reasonable. If you want to try something a bit more authentic than Wagamama’s this is the first place in Norwich you should try. You won’t be disappointed.

Amazing, traditional Japanese cuisine. I had the teriyaki salmon from the set lunch menu, which came with Miso soup, rice and salad. Everything tasted very authentic and was cooked to perfection. First time eating here this evening and definitely not the last! Wonderfully friendly staff, lovely surroundings and absolutely delicious food, beautiful presentation and so flavourful. I've been procrastinating about coming for ages (I don't go in to the city much) but I'd absolutely drive in to Norwich to eat here any time. Thank you for a wonderful meal.

Tonkotsu broth isn't very authentic, and neither were the nigiri (is not vinegared).

pricing after the increase is absurd. While there's no competition on ramen, its just 'okay' usually with bits of fat floating around, not something that should be charged for 17.5 that aside food is 'okay' nothing special

Honestly gutted. Me and my partner booked a table for our 1 year anniversary because we had our first date here. We showed up 10 minutes early and were told our table is not ready and to "wait outside" despite there being free tables. Other people walked in and were seated before us while we continued to stand outside. We went to matane instead, very disappointed as we were looking forward to celebrating our anniversary there.

Came with my partner for a birthday meal. Servers are all incredibly kind and make you feel so welcome. This is the case every time we come here. The lady who served us was so nice, I wish I had asked her name. The food is outstanding, and I would recommend it to everyone.

The best ramen I've ever had. The broth is absolutely stunning.

Delicious sushi - very fresh and well made, quite a nice selection too, including eel. Friendly staff. Cosy place with nice window seats for those eating alone, offering upstairs seating too. My only criticism would be that maybe the green walls could be decorated more because otherwise they're quite bland. Expensive but not too expensive, and besting in quality some other places in Norwich (haven't tried Shiki yet). I've seen that they offer lunch menu for a decent price; definitely worth having it if you're in town between 12:00 and 14:30.

Food quality was good, but service leaves something to be desired. I ordered a small mix sashimi which should be three pieces of three different fish. They didn’t have enough tuna so they replaced it with another fish instead, but they neglected to inform me to see if I still wanted the dish or not, and there was no apology made when I asked why the dish was not as I ordered. Downgraded to two stars as when I raised my concerns with their staff and manager they became argumentative and wouldn’t accept responsibility for any of my concerns…

The food here was delicious, while the menu was limited what they did was done really well. Unfortunately the service wasn't particularly great and that wasn't because of how we were treated but overhearing the manager having a go at a family with a small child about being late. He must of said this so loudly and so many times, it was embarrassing, especially with a child at the table. It did ruin our experience and the atmosphere.

Sushi here is absolutely incredible. The strawberry cheesecake mochi is to die for. The restaurant is ambient and the food is always beautifully presented

Beautiful Japanese restaurant, the staff were very welcoming and friendly. This restaurant is exactly what Norwich needed and is such an amazing gem. The authenticity of the food was incredible, I had the Miso soup and Tonkotsu Ramen. Miso soup was very refreshing and I wish I could have this on all the cold winter days as it was so heartwarming and flavourful. The Tonkotsu I have been dying to try and it did not disappoint. Stunning flavours of the pork, ramen egg and broth. Wonderful dish, just the right portion sizing and I cannot wait to go back to try the other dishes.

Really good food, ramen is amazing. Somewhere we always go but have recently have put the prices up, the Ramen is now £17.90, higher than london prices so won’t be going back in a hurry unfortunately.

I love eating here. The sushi is absolutely amazing. This small venue has friendly staff and a calm and relaxing atmosphere. We've had takeout from here before too. They handled our large order well and the food was packaged well to survive the drive home and still look just as beautiful as when it was made.

Cosy and welcoming, friendly staff and a good selection of food, we had this deep fried dish and a sharing platter. The deserts were tasty and unique.

Very cosy and authentic. Expect fresh fish that is perfectly rolled and full of flavour. Staff were friendly and service was quick. Some more choice of ramen would be nice but otherwise a well balanced menu for all. Would recommend.

Great food, went with my son who had Miso soup & Chicken katsu - he loved it. I had Prawn tempura and Beef Teriyaki also lovely. Recommend booking at weekends. Its not the biggest place, so if you don't like eating close to strangers then choose your table carefully - service is great especially from the young lady who was very chatty. I also made the mistake of wearing a white shirt - it may not recover 😂 - only me to blame, very poor chop stick ability. I had been before and I will go back so that in itself tells a story.

Lovely place. The staff were really friendly and pleasant. I had the ramen bowl and it was delicious. Really really tasty - the broth itself had a wonderful flavour by itself.

Excellent service. Takoyaki was delicious. Sushi and rice were fresh and authentic. In my opinion a bit over priced for the quality served. I would had rather visit shiki or Matane which are cheaper and also good quality.

Fast and polite service, had tonkotsu ramen, takoyaki, ebi ten roll, personally I found the octopus in the takoyaki really chewy and I wasn't a huge fan of the ramen as it was very one note and bland to my taste, plus the protion size wasnt too big for the price. but my partner enjoyed though so it might be just me.

I was craving for something warm and soupy and Asian and this came highly recommended on Google maps. It truly didn’t disappoint! I had ramen and I must say the broth was cooked in a very authentic way, the way Japanese ramen should taste like, with bones cooked over a long period of time and ramen noodles in the perfect right texture! It wasn’t too salty and honestly rather bland which is perfect for me as I usually eat rather bland food. I really enjoyed the ramen. The pork katsu was also perfectly done. Even the side salad is done the right way. I thought the chefs must be Japanese but to my surprise, the waiting staff told me they are Hungarians. Well done Chefs! I’m voting this as the best Japanese restaurant in Norwich!

Has been a place I have wanted to try for years and it was very enjoyable. Friendly staff. Quirky building. Food isn't the cheapest but was worth the visit and hopefully shall return to try more items

Very good ramen. Tonkotsu broth very well done, quite thick and fatty, delish. Ordered extra eggs which were perfectly seasoned and cooked. Very buttery. If I didn't live in Australia I would visit regularly.

Japanese food...more like Japanplease food, because this pleased my taste buds. In the heart of Norwich, an oriental gem that brings the flavours of the Far East of the world, in to the Far East of England. I had the deep fried Gyoza to start which made me want to leap high, for joy. They were really lovely. Then I had for main the Chicken Katsu, hold the rice. Why did the chicken cross the road? Because Soyokaze lured them in to cook them up real nice for me to eat (HA). The environment was cool, a small place that deserves it's high ratings, would recommend.

Fantastic food and great service in a really nice, intimate setting. The only thing in the way of a 5 star rating is the portion sizes, I really wanted a lot more food for the money I paid.

First ever visit to Soyokaze and was super impressed! The food was delicious and the atmosphere great too. I had a delicious ramen and the gyoza was gorgeous, friendly staff as well, will deffo be coming back !
