Really don't like the way you now have to order from a server rather than by phone. No cooked food is put on the belt and they seem quite understaffed.

. We were originally going to do bottomless but after seeing there wasn't much on the belt we decided to order food instead. The food in itself was good and i enjoyed it although the japanese fried chicken is just fried chicken at a more expensive price. The miso was too salty and was difficult to finish. The man that served us was sarcastic and gave us attitude when we asked about the taps they used to have. They put the condiments next to the dirty washing up next to us. We decided to finish up and go to wagamama instead

The guy that served us was so polite and attentive, it was brilliant. The food is still 'fast food' sushi so not restaurant quality, but good enough for a midday fill-up. A bit pricey for what it is though. But yeah, service really stood out.

just not worth the wait. time was pushed back twice, and the sushi did not taste fresh. There are quite a few better options in Cheltenham.

Went for the Bottomless Belt offer (All you can eat) but all we could eat was Edamame, which for 45 minutes of the 90 minutes allowed service, was all we got to see on the belt. Further up the line we could see other customers stockpiling dishes the moment they were loaded onto the belt, because there weren't enough meals being prepared for the volume of customers at the service. In total we ate the same 6 dishes as this was all that was available. Service was poor, we were only offered a drink upon arrival and were not checked on once during 90 minutes allocation. It would have been apparent to staff that a number of customers in our area were not eating and staring expectantly at the belt awaiting something that wasn't beans, however waiting staff were instead doing their best to avoid our area of ~10 customers, instead focussing on a larger party at the other end of the restaurant. Staff also didn't ask if our meal was satisfactory upon payment, for obvious reasons. The atmosphere was awkward, we were seated on a perpendicular side table, staring directly at a couple of a date who had obviously asked for a quiet booth, separated by less than a foot wide belt. Per the T&C's of the Bottomless Belt offer, all members of the party had to participate in the offer. However the table next to us was permitted to have one member of their party not participate with the justification that they were vegetarian...given the fact that all we saw was Edamame endlessly going around the belt this seems a bit ironic. This was our first experience of YO! Sushi, we don't think we are returning.

Me and my girlfriend went in for a sushi making session and it was amazing! It lasted around 2 hours and made a variety of different sushi. The service was very good with the staff asking us if we wanted drinks regularly and the sushi chef teachers us (named Chakib) was lovely and entertaining.

Top service from Andrew and Paula. Great food from the guys in the kitchen. Our 8 year old absolutely loves coming here so who are we to argue? Any excuse 😉! 4 years later - another birthday dinner! Still loves it and the birthday mochi are a real treat

Terrible sushi and not what I ordered. Nearly edible.

Sadly found ‘Blue stuff’ in the rice for the Kathy’s. Pictures taken and sent to just eat but was completely ignored. I actually ate some of the pieces because I thought it was green but once I had my glasses on it was blue and maybe a part of plastic or rubber?! Rice for the avocado maki was also undercooked so not possible to eat. Ordered 5 soy sauce and only received 2. Can’t speak for the rest as I’m currently pregnant so didn’t consume any of the other products that my kids and partner ate.

absolutely tiny portions. I have never seen sushi so tiny, one was only about 20mm by 20mm... about half normal size, (or 1/4 by volume)... ridiculous!

Ashleigh is amazing. She makes this place. It is the 5th time we have come to Yo Cheltenham and everytime she is the reason why we come back. She needs promotion to be a manager as she gives amazing customer service and puts her customers first. Thank you for making my daughters birthday special today. Food and service amazing.

We went for a sushi class and enjoyed a fun couple of hours. Not only did we learn how to create different types of sushi, but we enjoyed lots of food throughout the session (and had extra to take away!). Chakib was a friendly teacher and added to the experience. Would highly recommend.

Always a great atmosphere. Another amazing visit. We have noticed that when Chakib is on shift, the belt is always full, however, on other days there is little to no dishes available. Having the belt really adds to the experience. Thankyou Chakib!

My partner and I come to this Yo as it’s the closest to us and we absolutely love it. The staff are so kind and friendly especially the manager who always greets us with a smile and always makes the effort to ask how we are as we visit regularly. The food is always so good and it’s always fresh. We have been to other Yo’s around such as Bristol but we have always found Cheltenham Yo has been the best with the better service and time management of bringing food and drinks out. 10/10 would recommend

Brilliant service and surprisingly good food, but some dishes definitely are overpriced. Kids meals are great value

Good food but poor service. Was only about 30/40% full but the service was really poor. There was one female waitress that seemed to be flapping at every situation and causing the other servers more work. Took me nearly 10 minutes to get a second beer. It’s a shame as the Kitchen, which is open, seems to be very we organised and carrying some of the weight of the serving staff. Happy with the food, disappointed with the service. Edit: Hot food ordered to table was luke warm, probably due to slow service

I spent £75 and didn’t receive any of the rewards they boast about, despite speaking to management who said the rewards take some time to show on the account. I even sent a a message out to yo sushi head office through their contact form and didn’t even receive a reply. Great experience.

We've been there a few times already, food is always awesome, to this point that we always eat and spend way too much.

So disappointing, not enough staff to seat you or take orders. Conveyor belt had very little beyond sushi rolls (difficult to distinguish meat/fish etc). No edamame beans, only one salad, no desserts. Ramen so poor (flavourless water - not a ramen stock) didn’t eat it and it was taken off the bill. Taken the QR code away so you order with the waiting staff, but they are stretched too thin (not their fault management needs to step in). Have always been a Yo Sushi fan but the experience in Cheltenham has put an end to that.

We did a sushi class, and it was fantatsic, we'd definitely recommend it to any sushi lover.

Called Yo sushi up and asked where my order was too and they said they were ready and prepared with it trying to keep it warm, however no driver came to collected it, and took over and hour to get here.

The service can be erratic but the night we went, Laura was amazing and went above and beyond expectations.

Amazing food and service, was sat instantly and made to feel at home with the friendly and helpful staff! Our server was Chakib and he was absolutely excellent.

First time in this Yo. Service was excellent and fast!

Came for a under 16 sushi school experience and I was just completely blown away, took my 8 year old nephew and the chef was beyond brilliant with him, took time to answer his questions, helped him, we took home loads of sushi which he is going to take to school tomorrow to show his friends. A really wonderful evening and one I would really recommend to any sushi lover young or old. He had a smile on his face the whole ride home and I feel like the coolest auntie in the world. Thank you so much for some wonderful memories made.

Great service and good selection of sushi. Some combo dishes with salmon tasted a bit fishy/old so try to get single dishes and not the combos. Great ginger and on week days it is not busy. Our bill ended up quite high so think before getting the dishes

Came here for lunch as a party of 3, we were served and seated quite quickly despite it being a bit busy. The food was delicious, the only issue I had was there were a few bugs present on a packet that came with the dish. The atmosphere of the place was great, it wasn't too loud despite the rush-hour. The process when food was taken out and given to us was a bit confusing and I reckon they should have options where things come out all at once rather than gradually at odd times.

The food is lovely (we usually get the teriyaki beef as it’s our favourite) and the service is great most of the time. Occasionally you have to ask for things 2-3 times (eg tap water) but I understand it can get busy with deliveries etc.

Save your money and peace of mind and just go to the bristol one or the Grand central one in Birmingham. The service level has been steadily declining and we decided to stop coming here and instead taking the journey to Bristol instead despite living in gloucester. We made the mistake coming in today as we were passing by and decided to give it 1 more chance. Firstly we weren’t allowed to sit in any booth because apparently they were all “reserved” on a Tuesday at 4:30pm??? No one came for these dispersed “reserved” tables the whole time we were there 🤔 The place where we were sat was full of flies??? We had to fight the fruit flies over our food We’ve only been coming for out favorite dish the seas-food ramen and it was the worst ramen ever. The broth was COLD, the salmon and prawns must’ve been days old cuz they were so gelatinous and breaking down in my mouth, I had to spit it out cuz I’m pregnant and don’t want no food poisoning. The veggies were stale and old. We asked if we could use wooden chop sticks as we always do in all other branches in Birmingham and Bristol and they said no? Because they’re too expensive to give to us???? We have had many bad experiences in this branch before despite having amazing service in the Birmingham branches as well As Bristol and London Bond street. absolutely appalling *food picture is from Bond street Yo! I was late to open the door but the driver was so friendly and nice about it!

We celebrated my friend’s birthday here, and had a very good experience. Food were nice and the staffs were super attentive, friendly and helpful. We couldnt say thank you enough to Ruben, Laura, Raj and Ash to make our evening become special and impressive.

The blandest Sushi I’ve ever eaten. Yo used to be a place of atmosphere, with food flavours and favourites to rival much larger competition. Since the pandemic however, I feel that the chain has fallen from a decent and respectable level to bottom shelf leftovers. Here at the Cheltenham branch, the Service is always with a smile; it’s easy to get food service when it’s quiet though. Today I ordered 2 new dishes and 2 classics. Unfortunately the first main dish that arrived was the Tuna platter. What a let down. The tuna tasted washed out, as if it had been kept in a bucket of water, all the fishy goodness and gone and what was left reminded me of the suds left after clean up at home. Compare this to Kibou or any other Sushi place near by and it’s a let down. Second to arrive was a new large dish, Teriyaki Chicken noodles. Similarly, this dish was lacking complex flavour and was just a barrage of salt and Soy. The chillies gave a nice kick but alas it was too separate from the dish and overall left me feeling it almost be better without them? (I love spice!). One classic Dish that never disappoints however is the Yo Fries. Generous amounts of chips and toppings which make for a great treat! Similarly with the Katsu Chicken which never leaves my partner without a smile. I was kindly offered a free pudding should I write a review, this review was not proof read though, and this pudding “Mochi” was splendid. A genuine surprise and something that Yo Sushi used to me a go to for: Small bites, party Food and exciting flavours. I hope they can get back on track.

1st time here! The place was pretty basic. As for the food, we were not to impressed with the food for the amount of money we spent!! Food on the conveyor belt did not seem fresh! The Gyoza, I ordered was the only item that was tasty!

Card machine not working so customers had to go to cash points to pay for meals, which in fairness was discounted because of the problem.great food and service, but please surely they could provide some ice for customers drinks!!!

Small and very busy. We arrived at about 2pm ish, was told about a 10 minute wait for a booth or bar stools was ready of we was happy? We placed oit order the children love to teriyaki chicken Bento boxes. (@YOsushi want to buy two Bento boxes for use at home am I able to purchase from yourselves online??) Great food and service all round Clean throughout. We will be back.

Fantastic takeaway. The quality of the chicken Katsu curry and duck fries was brilliant. Very tasty and good portions. I think there must’ve been an error with the squid and chicken balls as we only got pieces of squid and 3 chicken balls. I’ll be requesting this be refunded but I will certainly be ordering the other two again. Thank you

Absolutely love Yo and Cheltenham Yo definitely do a good job of making it shine! :) Friendly staff. Love the conveyor belt going around showing different dishes. Love the new menu. So many great veggie vegan options! Only wish is that they fixed the booth chair closest to the door, as the other customers were causing disturbance because of it. Other than that everything was fantastic!

Order few dishes, fairly OK, higher price but small portion. The seafood Ramen GBP13.5,its TV shown 10.4??? It presented as 1/3 of a regular size from other retaurant. May be a 8 year kid would feel enough for this disk. The noodle quality nothing better than instant noodle, 2 small tinny pieces dry squid. 2 small pcs of salmon half egg. Was it a Seafood Ramen? For GBP13.5?

We ordered seafood ramen around £13.50 but Foods Quality is not nice, noddles worst than cup noodle you can’t expect, also the small portion not enough for little child. I’m the first time be here but no more next time.

The Beef Teriyaki + rice used to be amazing from Yo. It is still nice but gone downhill for sure. Mine had a mustard sauce mixed in and it totally ruins the flavour, probably need a new Chef Yo?

Spent many years in Japan and while they do a good job of misrepresentating British food over there... this is just a really shocking rep of Japanese cuisine. Problem is Yo! only does the usual basic supermarket type sushi (salmon, avocado, etc) - not that fresh and nothing much more interesting (cooked duck rather than tuna sashimi). You are paying for the novelty of the sushi-go-round plus what could just as well be a Tesco cucumber roll. Gyoza is just like the "fried" frozen stuff. It's true at real sushi restaurants the staff are right there in front of you, but manners are important - here it's like being sat down in the kitchen at a burger bar; staff chatting, pop r&b blasting. Overall, the service and ingredient quality was more like Subway. Shouldn't be full restaurant prices.

We came to YO! again and I ordered a YO! special roll. It was not very tasty, but this is not the problem, the problem is that on the menu picture it is all covered with cavier. But actually it's just rice with a little cavier on top. We also asked for wasabi and they didn't bring it. Does not match the price / quality.

So clean and great tasting food! Fantastic selection of dishes and so easy to order drinks and specific dishes through the QR code on the table. Highly enjoyable experience, would reccomend to anyone.

No ginger or wasabi with the sushi , very disappointed. Expensive for what it was.
