Always enjoyed this restaurant in the past but the last two times service and food have been disappointing. Starters lovely but the stir fries are very poor. Went to the Wroxham hotel afterwards and had scones cream and jam.

The restaurant is now called Thai Ubon. Food is fantastic as is the service. I’ve been a number of times now and have not been disappointed. There is a large menu to choose from. My favourite is the Thai Red Curry or the Jungle Curry. The food is so aromatic and flavoursome. It’s tucked away in the square but is well worth a visit. I’ll be back on my next visit.

Friendly, helpful and attentive staff at this out of the way restaurant. I was particularly impressed by the cleanliness of front of house…everything super clean and sparkling, with beautifully laid tables. The crispy duck with tamarind sauce (Sp3) is the best duck dish I’ve had for ages..looking forward to my next visit. Well worth a visit. :)

We arrived in Wroxham on a boat and had high expectations of the options in a decent sized village/town. However, we were disappointed to find very few, and lots of them were closed. Thai wasn’t what we were aiming for, but it turned out overly. The food and service were wonderful and we all found it delicious (including our 2 boys (10 & 13). Highly recommended.

Best Thai food I've ever had, portions slightly small if you go there very hungry. And the place is quite small too for a big party other than that great restaurant to visit.

Very disappointed‼️ My partner and I have been here a few times throughout the pass year, being our closest Thai takeaway. NEVER AGAIN! They obviously don’t know/care the importance of allergies. I have celiac disease which I let them know multiple times before alway orders. I always order a pad-Thai from there, only to find out they’ve been putting soy sauce in which is NOT gluten free. Who knows what else they’ve said to be gluten free when not, imagine if it was a nut allergy! Besides from them not taking allergies seriously the food was terrible and very pricy, £20.90 for a chicken panang curry and king prawn pad-Thai. Food portions was despicable. Tails were still left on the four king prawns we had. The curry had thinly chopped up bay leaf which made the curry inedible so that went to waste. Won’t be going again! Please don’t go if you have any allergies‼️

Not sure why this hasn’t got more recent reviews. I have been getting takeaways from this Thai Restaurant for over a year. Tonight was the first time we went in for food and it’s was perfect. Service was faultless, food was amazing as usual! If you’re looking for somewhere to go, I can promise you that I have never been disappointed.

We use the restaurant regularly for a takeaway and eat in. We ordered a takeaway last night food tasted the same but the food portion was terrible hardly no meat or veg but too much sauce. Have been charged the same price. Shame as you will lose customers if you keep this up. I know everyone is making cutbacks but this could effect your business. This will put me off using you but we will try again and see if it's the same. Hope it has improved by then.

Lovely friendly service and lots of choice for vegetarians

Arrived at this restaurant after having to search for it as there's a different name and livery on either side, was seated promptly, and then waited 25 minutes for someone to take an order. The staff were really busy and having to move about quickly to sort collections, often ignoring the seated diners. There really wasn't that many seated though. The food when it arrived was very salty and unpleasant, and didn't have any taste. The chicken with ginger didn't taste of ginger ar all, and the masamune curry was really poor. I stopped as despite being hungry it was actually making me feel bilious. I don't remember having a bad Thai meal before today.

Used this one whilst staying on the boat at Wroxham, looked at another Thai Takeaway but this had a lot more selection. Service was out of this world, phoned up and the greeting was an absolute pleasure, this was duplicated when we arrived to pick up the order. the food was really good and very hot. its a shame we wasn't in the area for longer as would have liked to have eaten in. will use again when in the area. Price is higher than home, but the food and service deserved it.

We were on a family trip away and due to some late returns back to our holiday house we ended up having two takeaways. Our first meal here was so good we decided to repeat for our second takeaway. The food was very good although it would have been good to try eating in if we are in the area again as some of the fried items had obvious got a bit soggy. The soups were the highlight being delicious and very aromatic. We ordered lots of little bits and shared them between us and every item was very tasty.

The food is extremely tasty. My other half had noodles with chicken with no spice and loved it. I had the rice noodle saladand loved the food. Pity there are no chopsticks in the restaurant, as it would have tasted even better!

Beautiful takeaway! Update - 9 Oct 2020 Not sure what's happened but this used to be my 'go to' restaurant in the area. Just had a chicken masaman curry and it was quite underwhelming. Even the prawn crackers were soft. Hope they get back to their previous standard

What a horrible experience. Thai dimsum came out raw to which they agreed to but didn't apoligise. A new batch came out and the waitress asked me to check them - they were raw. After asking twice for another drink that did not come I decided we were going to leave as we didn't want to risk the chances of food poisening . I was asked to pay for my drinks before we left, but of a joke considering we were leaving because they gave us raw food. Honestly, it was like sitting in a doctor's surgery with no music or atmosphere. Good luck if your going to eat there, you'll need it .

Food tasty, decor very dated, table was sticky. felt they gave priority to takeaways over diners.

Had a meal evening whilst travelling on the Broads. Some of best Thai meals we have had. Massaman and Jungle curry both superb. Staff friendly and the restaurant had good safety measures in place. Recommended.

We had a takeaway to have on on our last night on the boat. We had a couple of starters and a main with rice each; they were delicious. We went to Thailand earlier this year and the food at Yim Siam was so remenicient of the food we had there. Unfortunately we live at the other end of the country so we won't be visiting that often. If we do come back to Wroxham this restaurant will be first on the list!

We were slightly confused before booking. The restaurant is known as Yim Siam on Trip Advisor, but is listed as Thai Ubon on the government Eat Out To Help Out web-site, which seems to be the current branding. (The inscription above the bar is Sukhothai Restaurant, which didn’t help.) We made the reservation by telephone for Wednesday 25th August. When we arrived, the restaurant had no record of our booking, and when we were asked to identify our reservation in the diary, the page read Friday 25th August. (The last Friday 25th August was in 2017!) Presumably we were in the book somewhere but lost the battle of date over day. No matter, we were asked to wait, and were seated after around 10 minutes. We ordered starters of Golden Bags pork parcels, butterfly fried prawns and king prawn spring rolls. All predictably brown, but OK. Our mains were the Sizzling Beef Platter, Chicken Massaman Curry and Stir-fried King Prawn with ginger. These with one sticky rice and a pineapple rice to share. The beef may once have sizzled, but it had fizzled out before leaving the kitchen. The pineapple rice, if it ever contained pineapple, was concealing it well. In general, the food was very good, and we had no grumble with the taste or the quantities. Our biggest grouse was the time it took to bring out the starters, main course, and the bill. In all, we were in the restaurant for over 2 hours, and the delay from the starter to the main course was nearly an hour. Front of house were two ladies, and there was one man behind the bar, who also occasionally helped to serve meals. We don’t know how many were working in the kitchen, but probably not more than 2, and possibly not even that. The service, when it came, was impersonal, and slightly off. That said, we visited during the COVID crisis, and the waiting staff were wearing masks. It would not take a lot to raise the standard, because the food is good, but it does need some organisational effort.

my husband and children disappointed. brought them here for a treat turns out i should have cooked. the price was high and the standards were not very high. will never return.

Not impressed at all. As a family of 3 we bought 86 pounds. The food with the exception of one dish was way below par and expensive for what we got. We waited from point of order nearly 1 hour and 40 minutes, never in our lifes have we waited so long for food. The desserts were the worst of all... nearly 6 pounds each for a tiny piece of Tesco’s defrosted own brands. Never would we return. How this restaurant is still open is beyond us.

We booked well in Advance for my Son's Birthday on 12th August. It was a very hot and busy day in the early days of reopening following Covid closures. Even allowing for this, the service was very poor. We were told some items weren't available 40 mins after our order was placed. Our main course didnt arrive until 2 hours after we were seated and the waitress didnt seem to know what the dishes were when they were delivered. We were missing rice side dishes that we had to ask for 3 times before they were delivered after others had already finished their meal. When the bill was delivered I asked for the service charge to be removed. The waitress laughed and either didnt understand or thought I was joking ! Given all of the above, the food was actually superb, its just a shame it was spoiled by poor service and no recognition that there was an issue let alone an appology. Two other parties walked out the night we were there.

Ok. More sauce than actual vegetables and courgettes seemed smelly - maybe frozen. Perhaps reestablishing having been closed for so long.

Excellent !!! Cannot say enough about this restaurant. We visit wroxham every year and discovered this little gem Just off the main road near bridge. The staff are brilliant ...food even better.....all run professionally ...even with covid restrictions in place . The atmosphere is relaxing and just what we needed. See you next year ....many thanks The Smith Family

We had a mixed starter and then various dishes with rice. Extremely tasty and beautifully cooked. Good value. Service good. The only thing that lets it down a bit is the overall atmosphere and the impression of it being more downmarket than it actually is. But I'd recommend it on the food alone. Lovely!

We both love thai food and were very pleased to discover this little Thai restaurant where we enjoyed a lovely lunch.

A small, often quiet local Thai in a small shopping precinct (but with very close parking). Very nice menu and the food we had was very tasty. They do takeaway also. Would recommend supporting them as after losing the local Indian Wroxham can not afford to have another restaurant close

Found this restaurant open on a rainy midweek ,when quiet everywhere else .chose soup and tempura prawns for our starters followed by crispy duck plate and sizzling beef with ginger and vegetables ,with noodles and rice as sides .all delicious and freshly prepared.tge flavours were so good . lovely people there too .will definitely return .

We just had an excellent lunch. The food was freshly cooked to order, beautifully presented and wonderfully flavoured without being heavy or salty. The pricing is more than reasonable and the really good food means we'll certainly be returning again. Another positve is the take away option

We ordered a take away as we always liked this takeaway (before new management) the food came to £32 for two starters, two curries and one rice which is a lot but fine if it’s nice... but it wasn’t and we both had terrible stomach upset afterwards. Some of the food was undercooked, some was reheated and some was not as described as per the menu and was very watery. I sent and email off to express my disappointment and never even had a response or apology. They’re overpriced and obviously not hygienic. If you, like me, expect a decent meal for £32 and not to be very ill as a result of eating it, I strongly recommend you dine elsewhere.

I couldn't find this restaurant in Horning, as shown on the map, but the address gives the reason why; it's in Wroxham, well Hoveton actually. Surprised nobody appears to have picked this on reading the recent reviews. Don't let the run down decor put you off. The food is good with a choice of what you want with your Pad Choi for example. Prices keen and service prompt.

Absolutely stunning food. So flavoursome and fresh. Pineapple rice is a must!!! Service is friendly and attentive. Top marks all round.

Fantastic food, very authentic Thai food.

This restaurant was recommended to us by a local so we were had high expectations. We rang to book a table and the phone wasn’t answered however they called back shortly afterwards to take our booking.Upon arrival we were seated and were pleased to see a fan near our table as it was a very warm evening. Our order was taken - there was a confused look when trying to order an orange and lemonade and it took 2 staff members to understand our request but we got it in the end.From this point onwards the evening went downhill. We ordered the mixed starters for 3 and a mushroom soup to begin with. The soup arrived 5 minutes after the starters and despite tables around us being given a bowl of prawn crackers, none were offered to us.A group of around 10 people arrived and were quite loud and brash. We felt sorry for the table of 2 who were sat next to them, in fact they finished and left soon after and the next couple to be sat next to them walked out.The ‘noisy table’ must have said they were hot as the next thing we knew the fan was been moved towards them. We asked the guy who had moved it why he had taken it and could he bring it back and was told ‘it’s not my restaurant, she’s the manager’. I’m not sure what this had to do with anything unless they felt that a table of 10 would spend more money than us. We’re not entirely sure why they needed the fan as they spent most of their time outside or shouting across to each other.The ‘manager’ came over to us to clear our glasses and asked us if we wanted anything else or just the bill - we hadn’t had our main courses yet! We did remark that first they moved the fan and then they offered the bill, perhaps they wanted us to leave? No response.Our main courses arrived and they were nothing special. Very runny sauces and the crab rice was missing one vital ingredient - crab! We decided by this point to eat up and get out of there. The bill was £125 for 5 people; not great value and we won’t be back. On a positive note, the young waiter and waitress were very polite.

Lovely food and service in this restaurant. We came in the summer months but my only moan is when we return In the wintertime the food although is piping hot the plates are cold.They never warm the plates hence the food has to be eaten quickly before it gets cold.

Have visited restaurant for 1st time had set meal for 2 overpriced for quantity of food , so a little dissatisfied coffee wasn't brought out which was included in price waitress only mentioned coffee as bill being paid !! So overall not that impressed

First time being treated to a Thai and it was lovely, good staff etc will defo go again if in the area.

We have eaten at this restaurant on 2 previous visits to Wroxham and ordered take away a couple of times and gave had mixed experiences. We visited this time on a bank holiday weekend Saturday evening as a group of girls on a boating holiday. Now I am a huge fan of thai food having holidayed there multiple times. The food at Him Diam was absolutely fantastic this time. We order several starters and main courses to share between our group of 6. The crispy duck pancakes were superb as were the satay. The beef massaman was very mild from a spice point of view but it was full of flavour and the beef was slow cooked, moist and plentiful. The other standout items on the menu were the chicken penang curry which had a good level of heat / spice and the weeping tiger sirloin which was just delicious. I am back for another weekend in June and can't wait to come back for another meal with friends.

We were waited on by a very smiley charming lady and the food was delicious, we had various dishes and all were beautifully presented and authentic flavours also good value for money. Will definitely return.

We called here early on a Wednesday evening. The service was attentive without being obtrusive, the menu had clear descriptions of what the dish contained. Service was prompt and the food was delicious.

We went in a Tuesday evening as a group with two vegetarians. The atmosphere was friendly and the staff attentative but not in your face. The menu has a quite a large selection of amazingly tempting dishes most of which come with options of vegetables, tofu, Quorn or mock duck instead of meat. Never have my vegetarian friends had so much choice when out with us not veggies. The food was fresh and tasty. Would thoroughly recommend. We will certainly be back. Working our way through the menu over a series of visits seems like a good idea.

We came here on a Saturday night our table booked for 8 pm, we seemed to be invisible for the first twenty minutes and even had to ask for a menu, it took nearly an hour before our starters appeared and then nearly the same again for our main course, by now it was nearly 10 pm, we weren’t the only ones this happened to I heard several people complaining about how long the food was taking, although the food was nice they really need more staff on a Saturday night, I find it hard to eat that late and if it wasn’t for the fact we were so hungry we would have walked out, I know they do a lot of takeaways and perhaps this is the problem, the customers in the restaurant should really take priority, I used to like coming here but it will be some time before we come again.

Small portions , average taste, ok service

6 of us arrived on time and seated with no wait. That was good. However from the moment the waiter came to take our drink and food order things went down hill. Lack of understanding did not help. Asked for cider to be told they have shandy (not the same thing) ordered and charged for two bottles of wine yet only received one. Ordered for 5 people and 1 vegan. Food came out staggered. Not what you would expect at all. My vegan meal was vegetables and rice. The vegetables arrived but with no rice. By the time they sorted that out my vegetables were cold. While waiting for them to be heated up again the rest of the party had finished their meal. I decided to cancel my dinner as was not going to be the only one eating. Then they tried to charge me for it. Really wish things had turned out better

Very nice Thai food, eat in or take away.

Amazing food in a venue that is half takeaway half sit in. Who cares! The ingredients were fresh, the flavours beautiful. We would come back any day!

Really enjoyed a wonderful meal with friends, while on holiday in Horning, the food and service was excellent and beautifully prepared.

A number of our friends have recommended this restaurant, and last week we went with another couple. The set lunch menu was more than adequate. Served quickly but not rushed. Adequate portions. Delicious. I would go again.

Was expecting a wonderful south Asian delight, instead we were served with what can only be described as low standard Thai Cuisine. The sauces in the main courses are quite watery, when they should be of a thicker consistency and lacked flavour. The king prawns in one of our dishes had been over cooked to the point that they were shrivelled and very chewy. we also had a sea bass dish priced at £15.95 and it was listed as a whole sea bass, when it arrived it was only half of the fish and covered with lots of vegetables to disguise the small portion of fish. We did bring this to the attention of the waitress aand accordingly they halved the price, so be wary of this.

The best red and green Thai curries ever.

First time here and very pleasantly surprised. Food and service were both excellent. Had a lovely evening and left not feeling bloated as I often do after eating Chinese. Highly recommended!

A welcome break from all the pub food along The Broads. There certainly needs to be more variety along the broads. Thai run, and in the usual and more welcoming cafe / restaurant style, the food was fabulous. If you need more heat in your food, ask and they will cook to your taste. We really enjoyed the evening here. Good wine, lovely staff and a little taste of Thailand. More of this please.

The restaurant is in a little slightly shabby shopping precinct overlooking the post office and a betting shop! We chanced across it early in the evening whilst looking for an Indian restaurant and as it turned out, we were very lucky to get a table. By 8p.m. it was very full! The staff were polite and friendly, and all five of us thoroughly enjoyed our meal. There were plenty of vegetarian options too which was a bit of a treat for our veggie family member. At under £30 per head including bottles of wine and some beers it was very good value. I wish I lived nearby!

On a boating holiday visiting wroxham and came across this lovely Thai restaurant. The food was incredible and I must say the best I have had in a long time. The staff were friendly and helpful when my partner requested something not on the menu chicken larb, which he said was the best he had (he has the same meal in every Thai we go to)

Had really nice vegan food here, with a good amount of options. Great location close to both the town centre and the Broads, very friendly staff, food was delivered promptly and hot and we couldn't fault it. Very nice little restaurant, great value would definitely go back.

Had a very expensive take away expecting something special. How wrong can you be.

Family holiday in and around the broads. Lots (and lots...) of tourist traps, but not this place. Fantastic food and great service all at a resonable price. In fact, dare I say the finest Thai food I've had in a long while? Unassuming exterior and location but don't be put off.

We had a meal at this restaurant yesterday, on the last day of our holiday. The meal we had was lovely, it tasted fresh and full of flavour. I am a vegetarian and so I was pleased to find that there were plenty of meat free options for me I chose some lovely spicy noodles with vegetables. The rest of my family all enjoyed their chosen dishes, even my very fussy son The staff were friendly and the tables were well presented. We were given enough time to choose and help with any questions about the menu. Dessert was also delicious. Reasonable prices and good portion sizes All in all a lovely meal. 🙂 I wish it was near home because it puts our local restaurant to shame. Will definitely visit again when we return to the broads and Wroxham.

Staying on a boat for a family holiday decided to ring for a takeaway, Rung for takeaway 15 times, went straight to vodafone voicemail. So i decided to walk into the shop the restaurant was half full, there seemed to be one poor young lady on her own out the front, the phone was ringing in the restaurant and being ignored. There was a party of 8 lads in front of me that wanted a table, they waited for 5 mins of being ignored and walked out. I stayed for a further 10 mins of being ignored by the young lady writing up bills. Then i had enough of being ignored and walked out. (This was a sunday night)

We were very impressed by the quality of the food. It was cooked to order and if you wanted to change ingredients it was easy to do so. The service was welcoming and very efficient.

Came here on our last night in the area to try something a bit different. What a find, and I'm so glad we did. It is tucked away in the town's precinct and does not look that attractive outside. We went and the restaurant only had 6 other people. The food was outstanding. More people need to give this a go, certainly recommend

The special lunch menu is such good value, a limited choice, but excellent food. Very good presentation. Friendly and staff. Areal must if you are on holiday or local.

Lovely food, friendly service and pricing reasonable. Very accommodating as we needed a table for 6 which in a small restaurant could have been tricky. Nothing was too much trouble for them and i would certainly go back if i was in the area again. If you want a great Thai meal, try here, You won't be disappointed 😊😊
