Yia Yia G’s in Gedling

WOW, couldn’t be happier with our Sunday lunch to celebrate our engagement with our families. The team set up a beautiful table, complete with a banner, table decorations and flowers and threw in two bottles of complimentary wine - absolutely blown away by this service and never had anything like it before. Completely unprompted and honestly absolutely made my day - thank you. Service was amazing as always and the food was incredible- massive portions full of delicious flavour. Some of my family had travelled 1.5 hours and were super impressed! The team were attentive throughout and happy to help with cutting up the cake that we brought along which was so helpful. They even didn’t charge us for one dish that seemed to have been missed off the order - on reflection, I think this was our fault rather than the server but no time was wasted in offering this for no cost, which was definitely not warranted but really appreciated. I hope you enjoy the cake guys and thank you again for such an amazing time. We’ll be back very soon! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

My third visit they have now got a tracksuit clad youth cooking and my lamb was pink and bloody I ate quite a bit but then came to some raw bits at this point I couldn’t eat anymore and I asked for the bill and showed the owner the raw meat and explained the pink meat he was not bothered and I got a quick sorry he charged me full price too I was really dissatisfied with the service and will not go again

The staff are lovely really trying hard to make your experience good. We had the sharing platter and all was ok but the Souvlaki was dry and almost not edible, not a huge amount of meat and slit of chips. I had really hoped this was a Mapperley version of Yamas but not there yet!

Excellent food with generous portions and well presented. Service was swift and attentive. We did have one small issue with the order, but they identified the issue before we raised it and sorted it out quickly and politely- can’t ask for better than that. Enjoyed it greatly and will be visiting again.

The worst and most overpriced kebab I’ve ever had, after eating a couple of small bites the taste was bland and bitter. Shortly after I was violently sick and hours later my stomach is still in bits. Avoid at all costs

We were really looking forward to eating here as it always smells delicious when walking past. However we were a little disappointed. Cheese and Meat portions were very small and pork rather bland, (lots of chips added to bulk it out a bit). The tzatziki though was delicious!! To be honest we’ve had better for the price as it was rather expensive for what you got. We will try again as possibly chose a bad Friday night.

Yia Yia G's was excellent in every way.The Food was authentic Greek Food prepared by a Greek Chef and tasted lovely.I tried all the dips and the Chicken Souvlaki.It was delightful and very generous portions.The staff were friendly and very efficient and polite.The atmosphere was relaxed.The owners,Tony and Julie and the staff make you feel like you are a part of the family.I highly recommend it!

Ordered takeout; pork souvlaki, fries, salad and pitta; simple food but absolutely delicious. Salads were really good with lots of different Greek veg and great portion size and attention to detail. Souvlaki meat really well seasoned and cooked perfectly.

I was a little apprehensive about eating here as there aren’t many reviews but I needn’t have worried the food was excellent. The restaurant has a casual cafe type feel. There is a smallish menu, the food was tasty and fresh. We had wine which was very good. For desert we shared baklava and a Greek style vanilla cheesecake which were really delicious. You need to ring and book there’s limited seating. The service was great, friendly and attentive. We will definitely be back.
