Nice fish but I think they pre-cook the chips then re-cook them so they are dry which is a huge disappointment.

Minimum spend on card £10!! Only popped in for Chips and a pickled onion but they refused! Spent my money elsewhere,shame as was recommended they were the best chips since changing owners

Staying the town for couple of nights. Me & the wife got fish n chips. Honestly, one of the best I ever had. Lovely staff. Totally recommend this chippy.

There was a eyelash in my jumbo sausage

Missing two small cod and 3 jumbo sausages! Paid £67.10 for two large cod, 2 small cod, 3 large chips, 5 curry sauce! We live 15 minutes away and there is no phone number! Great!

We were delighted with the three portions of fish and chips we just consumed.

The quality of the food has dramatically improved. Is it the best fish and chips in Wiltshire.... No, but the fish is a good size and well cooked, the chips (when cooked fresh) are tasty and the Curry Sauce is excellent. Its a massive improvement on the previous management and if you haven't been recently it's definitely worth trying it for yourself.

Just had cod and chips here. Chips hard and cod really not nice. I asked for lots of salt and vinegar but didn't get it. Will not be coming back for sure

I'm afraid to say that although my previous experience here has been good, last night's fish n chips was awful: chips great but cod so oily, batter cooked on outside but soggy, doughy raw inside, very fatty, felt sick shortly after eating, bad stomach today.. shame..

We had the under cooked fish with the over cooked batter, topped of with a portion of chips from yesterday. Like a refund.

Some of the one-star reviews here are a little dramatic. This place serves perfectly good fish and chips! Fish batter was crispy and the fish was light and flaky. Best curry sauce I've ever had. Staff were friendly and quick in preparing the food. Clearly popular with locals.

Absolutely disgusting fish’n’ Chips I’ve ever had! The battered fish was dripping in oil and the chips as well. The paper was saturated. Never again!

Omg, we thought we would give it a go! As the last fish n chips was awful! Well let's say they have failed again SO AWFUL!!!! We don't think it's right that they (re fry) Fish! The batter was more mahogany, than golden! And also the sausage in batter, was so greasy and so over cooked! What a waste of £25 ...... No wonder the girl was so polite!

The fish and the batter were soaked in oil and tasted horrible! The chips were brown and I can only assume they use old oil in the fryers. For once the one star reviews are accurate! Avoid if you can and if you can't well you've been warned!

Price based on location is good, more than home in Wales, cheaper than London. £8-10 for one person, but the chips and fish are good nick, better than some places. I'd say rely on the taste not the aesthetics of the food, for your opinion.

Fantastic fish and chips - moved to Marlborough about 4 months ago and have easily been 2 times a month since living here! Never had a bad experience; pricing is really fair; especially considering it’s Marlborough! Would 110% recommend!!!!

Dont understand the good reviews and definitely question their authenticity. I visited here recently for the first time and the food went straight in the bin. The chips were old and had been fried and then re-fried multiple times - absolutley disgusting. The fish batter was soggy - it was without doubt, the worst “fish and chips” i have ever been served in my entire life. Horrendous. 🤢

Worst fish and chips I’ve had.. ever. I took one look at the chips and my husband and I threw them in the bin. Chips were, limp, brown and dripping with old oil. Cod tasted like nothing. Waste of £14. Surprised Marlborough supports these standards

Short a piece of fish - didn’t want it replaced the one we did get was vile - reheated chips - I’ll give that place a miss certainly not worth the £££

Ordered cod…got some white fish which didn’t look or taste like cod. Small fish size with hardly any meat on. Sadly no other competition in the area. Not happy with quality of chips either.

Went to get takeout on Thursday night and the chips were over cooked cheese and onion pasty was raw too expensive 😫 and found the experience poor and food quality poor would not recommend the visit to the shop

These have to be the WORST chips I have ever eaten in my sixty tears. They must have been obviously reheated from there last and the one before the opening. They are dry, flavourless and need to be smothered in some form of source to make them edible. I gave them the benefit of the doubt and tried them a second time but if I was to say they improved I would be lying Also the fish that accompanied the chip was a small fillet and so dry that also got given to the dogs - the dogs even turned their noses up at it and that's saying something for Dalmatians! Don't shop there - I won't go there again
