We went here today on a friends recommendation for a wrap for lunch . We were advised to order the wraps . ‘ traditional style ‘ . My mind was totally blown. 3 wraps came to £30. Honestly worth every penny . Great value for money , very big portions . Perfectly grilled lamb so succulent , in the softest / freshest bread with a really fresh lemon juice and parsley salad , sumac onions. Perfect amount of chili. It was honestly mind blowing . I will definitely be returning . I rarely write trip advisor reviews but this was something else . I wanted to thank the chef for the best lunch I’ve had in a long time .

This place came recommended from a friend, but unfortunately I was a bit let down. I wish I'd read some of the reviews here first as we ordered the cold mixed meze, which was frankly terrible for £14 - obviously shop bought stuff just plonked on a plate, small portions and very bland. We asked if they did Mucver, Kisir or Tabbouleh but they didn't seem to know what we were talking about, so we settled for it. The meat was beautifully cooked - very tasty and spiced perfectly. There just wasn't enough of it. At £17 for a mixed lamb, chicken shish & adana, it seemed like only one whole adana and maybe half a chicken and lamb skewer. Very small chunks of meat too. The only plus point was the endless supply of bread, presumably to fill you up! I don't think I'll be visiting again when the area has so many other great options.

This was a delicious meal in an unpretentious and authentic setting. My wife and I ate our fill and enjoyed the atmosphere. The service was friendly and relaxed and I appreciated the fact that the Waiter recommended a dish to us as what we were going to order was going to be too much. What he recommended was better value and more than ample. We would definitely visit again.

He estado aquí un par de veces recientemente. Sí, el meze no es genial, este no es realmente un lugar meze para ser justos. Wonderful selection of kebabs all cooked on a proper charcoal oçakbasi. Everything fresh and of the highest quality. Very busy restaurant so you may to wait for a table but it's worth it!

Been here few time for special occasion and casual gathering and the service was excellent the food was great but for this occasion it was my birthday Do so we booked for large group on Saturday night as everyone finished work late. It was a BIG disappointment the waiter was very rude, didn’t bring the stuff we had asked but when he gradually does bring it, He just slammed it on the table. The waiter was saying something in his language to himself which I know isn’t pleasant towards us. We talking and joking amongst another and he still making comments in his language which I know his cussing especially when his face impression shows he doesn’t really wanna served us (I find it extremely rude) Definitely won’t be coming back too soon. The waiter seem to be in a hurry to leave which I had told him to give us a note pad so I can write down the list what we need since we had to wait for so long for certain items to arrived but he ignore. The food was spot on but it ashamed for staff to be rude and arrogant towards customer who genuinely just come for a great food great time and not to be treated as if we were not gonna pay for the food.

Have been here a few times before. I ordered Lambs testicles. Another Turkish restaurant that serves offal. Comes with rice and grilled tomato. Nice salad and mint yoghurt. Served with a flat bread.

The portions were so small for the price, the staffs were very rude and don’t order mixed mezes as they are ready tinned ones from a shop for 15 pounds !

Had a takeaway wrap. Rude, grumpy staff, poor quality bread for the wraps. Didn’t ask what else I wanted in the wrap (e.g salad, sauce) No card machine. Would not recommend.

Haven’t been here for years , popped in for a quick take away. They do not for what ever reason use tongs or food gloves . Prepared the take away salad in the foil . Picked up tomatoes, lettuce, pickles all with his fingers . Is it so difficult to use tongs. Every other restaurant use them ,they also have 4 stars for hygean others locally have five stars. portion was smaller then other places and the cost higher. Service as others have said unfriendly .

I am a regular at this restaurant and I would normally go there alone or with my partner. I’ve been there numerous times. I usually go there for the food in off peak times. The service is mediocre at best but the food is normally incredible. The time I decide to bring two close friends the waiter obviously did not want to serve us. He came across disinterested as he wouldn’t even look at us. He didn’t ask us what drinks we want or how the meal was going at any point. Any request we made seems like too much. It was a complete contrast to my normal experience. The food was not even presented how it normally would be, bearing in mind portion and presentation. When I asked the waiter about this he acted as if I had never been to the restaurant before. When in actual fact between takeaway and eating in, I have been here over 20 times. We had to chase our waiter for all service. Terrible hospitality. No smiles, thank yous. goodbye or welcome. Bringing my friends to this restaurant was an opportunity to show them the great food, instead we left disrespected. There are much better turkish restaurants in Dalston. Don’t waste your time here.

La porción que recibimos no era una y media, pero era una porción de un cuarto de costillas. No fue el valor del pago que dimos por las costillas de cordero, ya que cortaron 10 costillas a la mitad y dijeron que nos tienen 20 costillas de cordero

Este pequeño restaurante en Harringay es limpio y acogedor, es más acogedor que el restaurante más grande en la avenida principal, ya que te puedes sentar cerca de la barbacoa y ver al chef en acción

Este es un restaurante turco y llevar. La decoración es simple - una muy importante abierto Grill - Mesas lo suficientemente larga para grupos grandes y algunas más pequeñas. Buen menú y un buen servicio. Es más simple que muchos otros restaurantes Turcos, pero sirve platos como madre hace (Un ejemplo como parte de platos de puchero cebollas meze es zumo de remolacha). Solemos ir una vez al mes para comer el domingo y la comida y el servicio son en general muy bien - no aceptan tarjetas, así éxito una máquina de efectivo antes de ir. Cuando pasas este restaurante parece un lugar barato donde usted normalmente no iba. Sin embargo, a pesar del diseño interior. La comida es muy deliciosa. Todo ello cocinado en frente de usted en un buen carbón. Las especias mezcladas con la carne y la ensalada es deliciosa. Mi favorito era el de cebolla una ensalada. Es ensalada tradicional turco y junto con su comida (incluida). También trae el pan. Si te gusta probar bebidas picantes Salgam (nabo bebida). Todo va bien con Ayran buena. El único inconveniente es su diseño interior, servicio lento para pagar la cuenta y sólo pagos en efectivo.

He oído que Umut tenía una reforma y el restaurante y las instalaciones son ahora elegante y de cinco estrellas. La comida sigue siendo excelente. Me quitaron una envoltura kofta y estaba delicioso. El personal es rápido y atento. El ambiente es agradable y amable. Altamente recomendado.

Siempre les visita. Dogan chef es increíble. La comida es muy sabrosa y el precio también es buena. Su lista en mi a visitar cada dos semanas. Gracias chicos por tan buena comida.

Best Turkish restaurant in London. Starters are brilliant, meat is succulent. The meat drippings on the bread is a brilliant touch and the esme salata is slightly warmed and full of flavour. 5/5

I visited recently with my friend, whose husband is Turkish. I would never have known about Umut if it wasn't for them. It's the kind of place that you walk past without giving it a second glance, but it's definitely a case of not judging a book by it's cover. The food is amazing. Try it, you won't regret it.Oh, and the staff are lovely too.

Umut 2000 offers the best Turkish food in Town! Their bread and yogurt for their cacik is also one of the best. The adana kebab is minced freshly and the ribs are excellent. I have also tried the liver which were very well seasoned and Umut offers a very good family service as well as friendly staff.

Now everyone has their favourites.. Welcome to the King of traditional Kurd/Turkish cuisine, simple food, good service, just like you remember from those back street diners across eastern Turkey. Go where the locals go.Pick anything, they nail it everytime, offal is fantastic,

Best ockbasi place I know of after coming here for many years. I eat a lot of Turkish food but none compares to this place. Lamb ribs are unbeatable.

There's to much to talk about this place We always travel 74 miles from Kent just for eat in this place .Yes this place isn't posh restaurant but 1000 times better than high class restaurant if you like decent kebab .

This place is amazing for grabbing take away. I usually get the durum (adana and cop shish wrap) for only £6 and would not get it from anywhere else. Infact for somebody who usually indulges in veggie or chicken or fish dishes, i have never ordered anything but red meat from here. The ribs are also delicious. Dont be fooled by the deco, this place takes you on a trip down memory lane, seeing yourself sat outside a local restaurant in istanbul. Try it!

Ate with a group of friends in the restaurant area here. From the outside, this looks like your typical kebab takeaway, but there is a large area to eat in, and they have an alcohol licence.The food was not bad, good selection of traditional meat kebabs and offal. Portions were big. Service was slow, took three hours to have a two course meal, including over 45 minutes to clear the plates after we had finished.Perhaps they are inadequately staffed to run a popular takeaway service and a restaurant area simultaneously.

by looking outside you wouldn`t think it was a restaurant but inside there is plenty of seating downstairs and the food is absolutely beautiful. highly recommended.

Yes, good BBQ Resturant, nice and cosy, but long waiting and they used chines salt on all meet kebabs. Specially ribs, better used less salt, after going home water, water or cola won't enough ur thirsty gone:)!!But friendly service from chefs and owners.

I've been coming to Umut for the last 7.5 years. It's an unassuming place, flourescent lights, cheap furniture and old Turkish men sitting around the bbq bench. An encouraging sign. The food is good. Damn good. By far the best Turkish BBQ this side of Dalston. The bbq lambs liver with a dusting of cumin salt is rich and moreish. The Cop Sis tender and moist. The ribs are addictive, all served with lovely salad sides. You have been warned......

I always eat at this place, sometimes I get a take away and sometimes I eat there and always delicious and friendly staff.

Came to Hackney for an event but forgot to register it online. So we had to find a place to fulfill our hungry stomach. And this humble look restaurant has a high ranking around the area in TripAdvisor. So we walked to there, and felt hesitated due to the profile. However we were warmed when we pulled the door and came in. We ordered the mix grill for two-£30, which seemed not cheap. A meze platter came first-six delicious meze but I love the aubergine best. The flat bread (not pita bread)was soft and buttery. And the main-a mix grilled chicken and lamb cubes, lamb ribs(were the absolutely best!!), wings and quail! Any piece of the meat was surprisingly tender and tasty. So we came for the second time with our friends... And ordered sea bass and bream this time. God they tasted good as well. A restaurant you can't miss out if you are a Turkish food lover.

This restaurant with a triangular floorplan is a stone's throw from one our favourite Turkish restaurants, Mangal in Arcola Street. Whereas the excellent Mangal has very few starters but first-rate kebabs, Umut 2000 has a great selection of mouthwatering starters, both hot and cold. It also serves a range of grilled main courses, but we have not tried these yet.We ate a beautiful imam bayaldi, a superbly prepared arnavut cigeri (grilled liver, Albanian style), cigar-shaped cheese-filled burek, and slices of köfte kebab on a bed of rice. All of these were freshly made while we waited, and were faultless. They were all served with a thin Turkish bread and wonderful mixed salads.This is Turkish food at its best. Fresh, tasty, and not too heavy. Service was good, chairs were comfortable, and prices quite reasonable. I can't wait to visit this wonderful place again. I will not abandon Mangal in Arcola Street, but will have difficulty deciding which of these two superb restaurants to visit when I am in the area. Maybe the best thing to do is to visit Umut for the first course, and then to burn off a few calories by walking to Mangal for a grilled main course!

Don't worry about how it looks in side.I can tell you this is the best kebab you could ever get .me and my friends do not mind traveling all the way from Kent just to have kebab from this place.every time we visit i do have kebab wrap and lamb ribs and always bring one for wife to :) I don't know how they do but I haven't find any kebab taste like here Highly recommend

I have a lot of friends in the turkish community and they all swear by this place. After eating the meat I totally understand that nothing on the street compares. Their meet selection and mezes are FRESH and delicious, we go here on a weekly basis. The turks say they are the best, and I can confirm, they are...

If you have not tried Turkish grill in this restaurant, you definitely miss the best grilled meat in London. I have eaten here many times and it never let me down. The lamb rib is always number one choice together with lamb heart and kidney. You should order their chopped salad as it goes very well together. Only because of the service is slow and sometimes your clothes get smelly that I could not give a 5 star.

Locale molto minimalista per usare un eufemismo. La cucina si trova nella sala principale ed un'inquietante colonna di fumo si leva verso l'alto in maniera prepotente. Per fortuna, al di la dell'effetto visivo, non vi sono danni collaterali dal punto di vista olfattivo, e potremmo continuare la nostra vita sociale anche dopo cena, senza che l'odore di agnello arrosto ci accompagni per tutta la serata.Abbiamo provato un mix di meze, che sinceramente non mi hanno particolarmente esaltato. Tra questi c'era anche una crema rosa a base di pesce, inquietante sia alla vista, ma anche al palato. Nessuno del gruppo ha provato il secondo assaggio.Come portata principale abbiamo optato per l'arrosto misto, servito con insalata ed altri contorni. Davvero squisito, sia il gia citato agnello che il pollo.Abbiamo innaffiato il tutto con vino turco, che si e' fatto ben valere (giudizio tarato sul fatto che stiamo sempre parlando di una trattoria)Avvertenze: dentro si muore di caldo, e guai ad aprire la porta, altrimenti le correnti faran si che la colonna di fumo del BBQ inondi tutta la stanza. I always love Turkish food and I could not miss this place. The food here is really good especially charcoal grill spare rib. I have tried a lot of restaurants but the rib here is still the best. Only thing I do not like is the service is so cold and unfriendly. Sometimes it took a long wait to get what you asked for. Also the restaurant is small and full of smoke from the grill so if you plan to go out after eating, this is not a good place as your clothes will smell smoky. Anyway, still a favorite place for Turkish grill.

We ended up here, as a friend we were out with, who lives in London, recommended going. There are other Turkish restaurants nearby but this is the one to go to. There is an open grill where you can see the chef cooking. My boyfriend and our mate had Lamb Durum, lamb from the grill in a wrap and they absolutely loved it. I only had hummus and pitta bread as we had eaten earlier. The group sat behind us were a few chefs from local restaurant/pub who highly recommended the food. The waitress was very friendly and helpful. I would like to go back here when I have more room in my stomach to eat.

this restaurant serves probably the best meat I've eaten in europe. very nicely cooked and very nicely seasoned. the portions are huge (the umut special could easily be shared between three people) and the staff is very friendly. we come here very often and cannot recommend it enough.

Dalston has lots of turkish restaurants full of English people. Tucked just off the main drag of Stoke Newington Road is Umut 2000, a Turkish restaurant full of Turkish people eating so you know it's going to be good. The Kabuga or Lamb Ribs is amazing and comes with as much bread and salad as you can eat. Great atmosphere and service. A really authentic Turkish restaurant a must to visit

I go to umut 2000 once a month:) love it. there is no another place like umut 2000 try Pilic on the grill:)) great service great food;) Head chef Dogan is doing great. do not forget to say hello to him:) very friendly place. I will visit again soon:)

Whilst driving past we saw a kebab being served, it looked good and we were hungry. What a good decision to park and eat. Great Turkish menu and super freshly cooked and prepped food. Ate myself to a standstill with really tasty offers. It doesn't look anything from outside but the warmth of the welcome and the speedy delivery of food accompanied made this a good stop. Basic and not in any way plush but well worth a go for the food.

This is my new favourite restaurant, not just in Kingsland area, not just in North London, IN LONDON ITSELF. open bbq, top top meats, authentic breads, delicious hot and cold starters. Grab a seat in front of the master grillers, feel the heat, smell the aromas and quench your thirst with an ice cold Efes!!! Satisfy your meat lust and round it all off with a stiffening raki!!! Now that's my idea of a great restaurant! Keep up the good work guys!!

I love this place. I live nearby and average one a week, normally chicken or lamb shish wrap to go. It is delicious and hence why it is packed with Turks all the time.
