Good food, regularly shortlisted at the national Kebab awards. Specials include the Kleftiko that featured soft warm vegetables and mash. I couldn't get enough of their bread!Complimentary salad was mainly onions. No service charge was added, bring cash if you want to leave a tip.

I ate there on New Year's Eve. The food was stale and they served little food and it was very expensive. The people inside were talking loudly among themselves and the atmosphere was very disturbing. Do not waste your money.

Absolutely excellent. I wished I could do it all again once we finished the mountain of genocide meze and mixed shish kebab. The sauces, the meat, the salads, baklava dessert, perfect. A welcoming team and a warm afterglow. Highly recommended.

I went to Testy restaurant for a Christmas dinner with my colleagues and it was a lovely experience. The food was absolutely delicious and the atmosphere was warm and festive. Everything was clean and well-maintained, which added to the comfort. The staff were professional and knew how to serve properly making us feel well taken care of. It was a perfect evening. The staff were lovely and the restaurant quite comfortable. I love Turkish food and was looking forward to a lovely meal with my friend. The food, although plentiful, was very disappointing, not flavoursome, even the falafel and hummus tasted bland and shop bought, the main was heavy on dairy, tasteless and one dimensional. My friend and I left at least half our food and both felt a bit nauseous after our meal.

Have eaten here a couple of times this year. The bread is absolutely wonderful and the meals are good. Mostly very generous portions and tasty. The only meal we weren’t so impressed with was the mixed grill which for the price didn’t seem to be a very generous portion. All the other meals have been good and almost too much to eat.

Last night was my first time at Testi, the food was delicious but what really stood out for my partner and I was the genuine, lovely service. All staff were really nice. Something that sadly stands it apart now in a culture of glaring lack of customer care and poor attitudes. So thank you everyone for your beautiful warmth and friendliness. It was very much appreciated in such a hostile city and restored our faith 🙏

On Sat 12th July, was my 2nd visit, for a freinds birthday 1st was on new years eve and both times was a complete sham! The food standard was way below par. No bread, salad or dips or given to start, most other places give this as standard, while you wait. Bread came with the was burnt, no decent salad, slices of thick carrots on the edge of a sad looking salad, on a small plate. We ordered a £60 platter, meant four people, it came with just wings, ribs, one each skewer of chicken & lamb shish. The lamb shish cubes were tiny. This place cuts corners everywhere. I ordered a seabass, it came with a sprinkling of wilted lettuce, I called the waitress over, to draw her attention to this, I asked if this is meant to be the salad,,she replied "yes", then said she'd call someone. We had the same experience on new years eve. We were also rushed, as food took ages to arrive as well. I felt sorry for the male waiter with the glasses. He tried his best after taking over from the lady, because we raised so many issues. Will certainly not be going here again, there are loads of other Qualuty Turkish restaurants just down the road, where you'll get your monies worth on the platter, as it will also include, chicken & lamb doner, köfte and two types of rice. Only those who are inexperienced with Turkish dining would find this place amazing. There's much better place down the road. I hope the admin from Testi do not attempt a response, because when we asked for the manager that night, they refused to come and put the poor chap instead.

A very unique Turkish experience in that the bread that comes as standard with mains is flavoured as opposed to plain. The only other Turkish place that does it has sadly gone out of business so this is the only remaining restaurant that has this incredible bread. The side salads that comes with mains are also very unique. Quite a special and extraordinary place. Waitress was very friendly and attentive. On top of it all, great atmosphere.

Used to eat here regular. They have changed the interior, preferred when the kitchen was more open and relaxed, it’s ok but pricey for what it is.

The bread that came with the meal I ordered is the leftover bread left on the table. This is not something that should be accepted. I called the restaurant and talked to the manager about this situation, and she replied arrogantly that you can come to the restaurant and get bread.

Every time I eat here it's a good experience. The food is tasty and plentiful, the staff are friendly and helpful, and the music creates the right atmosphere. Totally recommend.

Not really a hidden gem - more of a banger in plane sight. If Turkish restaurants were less lazy and put more love into their menus they would be like this place... Testi by name, Tasty by flavour. Weirdly enough the item that steals the show isn't the meat... It's the creamy mushrooms in tomato and cheesy overload. Really warms up your Testes (or whatever equivalent anatomy you possess).

Had such a lovely lunch at this place just now. The service was relaxed but attentive and the food was absolutely delicious. Warm bread served is divine, hot meze was great and the grilled meats moist but with a nice charr. The salads bought with the meal were fresh, lovely seasonings and the grilled Onion with sweet tangy dressing the absolute star of the show. This is a low key diamond. Turkish tea is on point as ever

There is a strong smell inside, but it is not the smell of food. When locals say Turkish kebab, it sounds tempting, but we understand how poor quality it is; The service, music is mediocre, even the ayran is Turkey's poorest quality, cheap shock brand ayran :)) The waiting time is very long As for the taste, it's a below average Turkish kebab restaurant. The rice was too raw and tasteless to eat. Only the bread was delicious.

The seasoned bread was to die for and the rest of the meal was good, the service was mediocre.

We came as a big party, to celebrate a birthday. The staff were extremely accommodating by ensuring that we were seated comfortably, including making sure we had enough space for a wheelchair. They also placed a ramp for us for entry & exit. We were served by Evra, who was possibly the loveliest person we had ever been served by. The food came quickly and was delicious! Couldn’t recommend enough!

I am just coming from testi where i had my birthday dinner with my boyfriend first experience no complain.

Booked a table to celebrate my daughters 16th birthday on Friday, 19 Jan. It was our first time here, so wasn't sure. Our group was 17 people, and the staff were helpful and accommodating. Layla was amazing. We ordered both types of platter, which had plenty of meat. Food was amazing, but some of our group were not convinced on the 2 different onion salads, but I loved them. My sister doesn't eat meat, and there was a larger selection of vegetarian and seafood dishes than compared to other Turkish restaurants we've been to. I would definitely recommend this restaurant and will go back again. Thank you for making my daughters birthday so special.

We were looking to try a new Turkish Restaurant in Stoke Newington area and Testi came on top of a quick google search. Positive reviews and long queues (going by the posted photos) gave a Tasty whiff about this place. Anyhow, we arrived at the restaurant about 16:15, a welcoming ambience I must say. Restaurant was full - not of guests but staff! - Regardless of the fact that a number of staff were sitting idly, we weren't approached promptly. - We made our pick of the table and waited good 5 minutes to be greeted by our host. - I asked for a suggestion between lamb and chicken Beyti - our host's response was a mere shrug and "if you like chicken take chicken....." Well.. - We ordered Chicken Sarma Beyti, Chicken Shish and Adana Mix. - Salad was served after about 15 minutes; it didn't taste fresh. - Food took about 30 minutes, the waitress didn't make eye contact, confirmed the dish names and/or whom it was for. - My friend asked if they serve any condiments and was given a bland no, however a few minutes later she came with a small bowl of crushed chilies. - The food didn't taste good or looked appetizing, Adana smelled raw and naan in beyti was stale. Beyti meat was chewy, chicken shish was alright and at par with the average kebab shop. - We left unhappy, underwhelmed and rather upset at the entire experience.

The food here were absolutely incredible. Mixed grilled was fantastic. The restaurant provides the mixed salad that goes well with the meat grill. The chicken sarma Beyti was divine. The ambience was fantastic, brought my infant with me on push chair and infant managed to sleep when the food arrived. Overall great experience and would come back. Although one thought to add, it needs to have disabled Slide to allow buggy or wheelchair users to access the place.

As a vegetarian, the food was contaminated with the cooking from the grill, so it tasted of meat. Wasn't a good experience, as it just overpowered the taste of the vegetarian dish. I won't be back again.

If I could give 6 stars I would. Great food, great service! Recommend the mixed grill platter. Oh my goodness the bread! The onion salad, chill sauce. Just everything was lovely. Wished I took photos but I was so hungry. Honestly, amazing food. Ate everything and almost had to be rolled out of the restaurant haha! Would definitely come back :)

There are a lot of very good Turkish restaurants in London and honestly, this is not one of them. Portions were small compared to the price and the food was just not the standard I would usually expect. Service was good and friendly however and the venue in general is nice. The food just let's it down.

This place is lovely, service is great, it’s not overcrowded or overpriced, nice little spot for family, friends, first dates etc.

Lovely staff who bend over backwards to help when I visited. Had takeaway tabelou, lamb mince and chicken wings. All were really good with plenty of extras as you can see. Pita bread is delicious. Enough to have for breakfast the next day. Cocktails pack a punch too!

The restaurant serves good meal. I had lamb shank. Here you do get what you pay for. My friend, who lives locally, tells me this is the best Turkish in the area by far and also the most famous one. I wouldn’t hesitate even for once to go again.
