A group of around 8 of us went in March- only just round to reviewing!.. We had the tasting menu, whilst im not a fussy eater there are certain types of food i would always avoid so i was a little dubious before visiting! I couldnt of been more wrong, I tried all the dishes without working out what it was and enjoyed every single one!.. They had a marinated pork chop which was delicious, the various pickles and bread were so tasty, the nduja and scallops were also a favourite! I will definitely be returning for a tasting menu take 2 as they frequently change the menu around! If youre looking for a lovely meal with different food fusions and great service and cosy atmosphere- this is the place!

I am generally an unadventurous eater, so I was a bit apprehensive about trying the food here. However, I was pleasantly surprised - I had a guinea fowl main, but my favourite parts were the sides - the burnt sweet potato and the courgette/peanut butter dish were very good! Pale ale & peanut ice cream with chocolate mousse for dessert was also yummy. I'd recommend getting a variety of different dishes between you and sharing them round to make the most of the interesting things available. The thing that let them down slightly was how long it took to get served and receive our food, as a whole it did take a long time but we didn't mind it too much.

Food was amazing and my poor attempt at taking a photo does not do it any justice. I came here with a friend and we ordered the octopus and pate to start off with. The octopus was one of my favourite dishes. We then ordered all the sides as they’re all smoking with flavour. Especially the cabbage and macadamia - i could order a few of those alone. So tasty. We also ordered the pork with Granny Smith which was ok. But it was the sides that rocked our night. I could easily go back there and order every starter and every side.

I went with some colleagues for lunch, but didn't realize that they had a different lunch menu. We were all quite excited to have main dishes instead of sandwiches after looking at their website. Anyways, we ended up ordering the sandwiches, they were high quality and good value (6-8£). We had their larger peanut ice cream with chocolate mousse, loved that! Wish all our food arrived at the same time though. Would want to go back to try dinner.

I went for a lunch time meal during the week with my team and the restaurant was very quiet. The waitress was quick to attend and friendly. The lunch time menu was a little limited but there seemed to be enough variety for the 4 of us. The food didn't all come out at the same time which was a little odd given the we were the only 4 people in the restaurant. Thankfully the food is pretty amazing, really unusual and interesting flavors (at least for me) while being a reasonably decent portion size given the price. The deserts where not as amazing but still interesting flavors. I would recommend and i would go back.

The flavours here are really well balanced and keen. We booked a table early on a Saturday evening and enjoyed the calm atmosphere and attention from the staff. The space itself is bit narrow so may easily become crowded. Standout dishes for us were the gin and cucumber pickle and the scallop roasted in the shell- divine. The dishes are quite small but very rich- for example the burnt sweet potato with horseradish cream - satisfying and excellent. I loved the orange wine too

Very disappointed. Was looking forward to a Scandinavian smorgsaboard of flavour. Started very badly - service was poor. There was only one other table yet still the one waiter took over 20 minutes to serve drinks, and even then got it wrong. Awful rock music played. Decor and ambience reminded me of a boarding school dining room. Trying to achieve shabby chic the only item that achieved this was the service and that only partially achieved shabby! However that said the pickles are good - herring and mackerel fresh. Portions small and frankly expensive for what they were. Would I visit again - NO. Shame maybe the lunch menu is a poor relation to the evening menu and service. Still I believe no excuse.

Recommended by a friend so finally got around to going and it didn't fully live up to expectations. Got of to a bad start when we were told we could sit where we wanted directed to 4 tables for 2 people so selected one only to be told not that one we might need it to make a four so were then directed to the next 2 tables already so close they looked like a table for 4! Ordered 2 cocktails some pickles and the starter and mains. The pickles arrived very nice the scotch eggs followed and then the cocktails at the same time as the mains - too late! So no point ordering any wine! So the food was tasty but not smokey and small plate portions at large plate prices Puddings were good but too little to late

Such a sweet, modest old-London property where Rok is housed and lovely to see it still standing where many others have succumb to "development". Came here tonight with a friend and wow. By far one of the best meals I have had in London. Staff were friendly and efficient. I believe Lindsay served us and gave a great run down of the menu. I had the lamb and my friend the pork, we both enjoyed our mains, but I think the lamb was the better choice. Absolutely exquisite. Beautifully cooked and seasoned. Just outstanding. For sides, sweet potato, potato gratin and blackened cabbage. The blackened cabbage is what really stood out. Absolutely lovely mixture of textures and flavours. Just really excellent. One main and side was certainly enough as we found the portions generous and the quality of the food meant it was very filling. we also had the cabbage and chilli pickle as a starter snack which was nice shared between 2. Outstanding.

Incredible Nordic BBQ food in a very relaxed atmosphere. I’d been before and went again with friends at they absolutely loved it. Every dish we had was delicious.

The food was good however we were well over charged on our bill, twice. It was clear this was not a just a mistake and there was no apology, even after the second time. Enjoy the food but make sure you check the bill.

We went there during their opening month in November 2014. It was busy. There were 20 of us and the staff struggled to cope with our orders. Some food was excellent some poor and some never arrived. I had hoped that things would improve but the restaurant is now closed

Sat outside - I picked a shady seat - and had Menemen breakfast and coffee. Both were perfect. The place is chilled and friendly. Read the paper for a while and watched the World go by. Perfect spot.

I want to love this place so much - its a little local cafe in a lovely spot with outdoor seating which makes me want to go every time I walk past. However I've been twice now and I definitely wouldn't bother again. I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt - I don't mind a relaxed vibe in terms of service - but the staff are just don't seem to care and as a result it is unenjoyable. Both times I've had to ask for menus and later to order after no one came (most people around me have had to do the same both times), and both times the food has been missing things - the first time my coffee had no syrup and the second time someone had forgotten to put any ham in the ham and cheese croissant. Honestly such a shame this place is let down by the staff. They seem lovely but can't do their job.
