Taking a chance here for a family birthday lunch, we hit the jackpot with a fantastic, relaxed and hugely enjoyable meal. The mezes were delicious and our waiter could not have been friendlier. Unreservedly recommended.

Incredible food!!! Delicious, cooked fresh and lots of flavour. We had a selection of starters including the hummus, halloumi and aubergine. My husband had the mixed grill which he loved and I had the lamb stew which was extremely succulent and packed with flavour. Highly recommend.

My two friends and I had a brillient evening, , all the staff were very helpful with us choosing items on the menu. Camille was so welcoming and friendly. We will definitely come back again.

Delicious home-made food and very generous portions. A very kind staff and efficient service in this cosy restaurant. Our children were welcomed and a baby chair was available and our huge chariot for two children was even placed safely near us without anyone grumbling. Clean toilet premises with baby changing facility. Highly recommend this homely restaurant.

First time I've eaten in this kind of place everything spot on 10/10 cannot fault the place the staff or the food excellent ive enjoyed it very very much pity I'm only here on holiday or I would eat here regularly it's that nice they've catered for my fussy eating too without any problem if your in Brighton make sure you give this place a try 😀 kamil is a fantastic host and his husband was very friendly too ( the salmon was delicious) Oh and the Turkish delight amazing!

If you like baklava, we have a tip for you! Yelken Restaurant in Brighton has the BEST baklava ever! Not to mention delicious falafel plate, meze sharing platters, and butterfly shrimp. Don’t forget the Turkish coffee. The atmosphere is fantastic with nice seating and relaxing music playing. Outstanding service too! Go see Kamil and everyone at Yelken and you will be very glad that you did!

I recently had the pleasure of dining at a gem of a Mediterranean restaurant, Yelken, in the heart of Brighton, and I can honestly say it was one of the most memorable meals I’ve had in a long time. From the moment I stepped through the door, the warm, welcoming atmosphere made me feel right at home. The staff were attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about the food they were serving. Each dish was a celebration of fresh, vibrant ingredients and authentic Mediterranean flavors. Did not live up to the hype of prior reviews, unfortunately. Starters nice, we had hallumi and the hummus which were plated nicely and tasty. Mains were a disappointment. The spicy chicken sizzler just didn't have a lot of flavour for me 😕 certainly wasn't spicy. My partner enjoyed her aubergine dish. The accompanying rice and salads we had were fine, but a bit plain compared to what we'd usually receive.

Had a really amazing chicken salad at this wonderful place on Saturday, everything was so fresh. I was a solo diner and was welcomed in to a peaceful atmosphere and really tasty food. Staff were so friendly. Will be back - thank you :)

Delicious lunch stop for hummus, crispy cheese rolls, halloumi, fried courgette, and a fried crepe roll filled with sausage. All delicious! Quiet atmosphere and friendly efficient service. Great place to go before or after the Brighton Pier. No accessible toilet unfortunately. They do have a baby changing table in the toilet downstairs.

We picked Yelken Restaurant during our Brighton holiday because, let’s face it, we missed Turkish food a lot. We were greeted by some incredibly friendly ladies who made us feel right at home. The hot starters were truly fantastic, and as a Turk, this place gave me the feeling of visiting a relative who makes delicious food and hosts you like royalty. That feeling lasted all the way until the baklava arrived with the tea. The walnut baklava was so perfect that, honestly, you wouldn’t find one this good even at your favorite relative’s house in Turkey!

Very good restaurant and very good value for money, we shared a succulent fried cheese as a starter accompanied by a very spicy sauce then I personally opted for the lamb as a main course which instantly reminded me of the good dishes spicy that I was able to taste in Morocco. We stumbled across this great restaurant. The minute we walked through the door, we were warmly greeted and helped with our menu choice. The food was excellent, and so was the chef and front of house service. We also enjoyed the interior, which is quirky and clean. We will be back!

My wife and I came to this restaurant and were served by Kamil. We ordered the dolma with stuffed with rice, the hummus with minced beef, and we both ordered the falafel that was served with flavoured rice and hummus. The food altogether was spectacular. The rice was seasoned well and the salad was fresh. The hummus was soft and creamy and dressed with olive oil. We were both satisfied with our starters and struggled to finish our mains because the portions were so generous. The service was quick and friendly and I could see that the staff was very attentive to everyone. I’d definitely recommend this restaurant for both meat eaters and vegetarian because the food options are varied.

This is my second visit in two weeks! The food is so good (I especially recommend the mezze sharing platter!) and the staff are so friendly. The seating is also really comfortable. And it’s dog friendly! Enjoy!

This is definitely the sort of small business that you (& your taste buds) should consider supporting. I only wish that I had the room to try even more dishes! I stopped in after a rainy, windy beach walk and received a warm welcome to this cozy spot (despite looking like a drowned rat 😆). I had the lamb kofte and found it flavourful and delicious. The server, his husband, and the chef were easy to talk to & take pride in their work.

Cannot fault it. Every dish tasted so fresh and delicious. My partner and I had the veggie meze platter, olives, grilled halloumi, courgette fritters, with white wine spritzers. The restaurant is small but felt very authentic. A perfect finish to a sunny day on the beach.

There's lots of good eateries on St James Street and Yelken is one of the best imo. Lovely food and welcoming atmosphere. The sharing platters are delicious and great cocktails. Plenty of choice for vegetarian diners too.

Couldn’t recommend this lovely little local place more. Very friendly and welcoming staff, lovely atmosphere and absolute top-notch food in generous portions. We particularly loved the courgette fritters, aubergine and yoghurt cold mezze, cheese rolls and sizzling prawns. We ordered so many starters, we didn’t even make it to mains!

Excellent food, The kofte was amazing. Wouldn't change anything, They clearly are on to a winning formula. The Turkish tea was complimentary which is very nice. The starters were well cooked and tasty as well. The server was welcoming and friendly as it would be in Turkey as well. Can't recommend highly enough. We will be back

Delicious, authentic, and cozy. The menu has so many options. The starters and fresh bread were excellent (would recommend the yogurt and walnut dip and feta pastry). The sizzling prawn dish was so flavorful and portion was generous. The rice was delicious too. Everything is made to order, the chef/owners were lovely.

Never in my life have I experienced better service, than here. The food was also absolutely delicious and very rich, especially for the low price. They were able to acommodate our group of seven during lunch time, helped our navigate the menu and simply made our lunch absolutely unforgettable. And on top of that, the interior is just stunning. "We came here for the first time today and we were delighted with the carrot tarator, hash browns and hummus that came as a starter. It was extremely delicious. We especially loved the hash browns. We got grilled chicken and fish as the main course. We really liked both main dishes. Afterwards, the chef sent us a special dessert with a very nice tea. It was a wonderful brownie that appealed to both the eye and the palate with its soft texture. We will come back another day to try baklava. It is a very sweet and unique place where you can eat delicious food accompanied by a glass of wine in the evening. I must also say that everyone in this place, from the waiters to the chef, is very attentive and polite.

The food absolutely met our expectations! We had different starters to share: sigara boregi, hummus with beef, sucuk and halloumi, everything was delicious. We had different mains: chicken, a lamb stew, a steak and falafels. I cannot choose what I liked the best. We had turkish tea and a tasty handmade baklava for pudding. Staff and atmosphere was friendly, we will definitely visit Yelken again.

Although the service was lovely, the main course was bellow our expectations. I ordered grilled chicken and it was pan fried, bland and dry. It is not a good value. The olive salad was nice. We came here for the 4.9 review but we were sadly disappointed.
