Love this place! It's full of character (and characters). Friendly staff and locals and good weekend entertainment. Lovely home-made cobs and your usual bar snacks for sale. If you have never been, it's well worth a visit! You will not be disappointed.

Great real ale pub, that has loads of old charm and character. Good selection of ales, however never updates the 'real ale finder' app so never sure what's on the pumps. In saying that, walked into Titanic Plum Porter last night ,one of my favorite ales and Oakham Citra . The bar food is a choice of massive cobs (see photos). I would definitely recommend this place.

Great pub , I used this pub a lot in the 80,s , went in a few days ago on a visit to Wednesbury and it seems to have gone down the pan with the clientele that were in there , one guy actually had a very bad odour , it’s a shame the pub is like this , it has a lot off history and is part of Wednesburys DNA

I had cheese and onion cob doorstep cheese thick onion did not finish the cob this week I had beer not that good took head of beer not good

The weather was freezing outside and it was just as cold inside. It’s a nice enough pub under normal times but there was one radiator that was not enough. I would go again but not in the winter.

Great Black Country Pub. Popped in for an afternoon pint and a cob. The beer is really well kept. They serve pizza and cobs so by no means a gastro pub but who wants that anyway? Locals were really pleased to have us in there and very friendly. Great place, glad it's here.

No food. Service was a little slow as there was only one person serving. No beer garden which was disappointing on a hot day.

Still old and full of character. Full of history. Well stocked bar, nice ales.

A nice friendly pub that has a good atmosphere, Sunday quiz night and always laughing. Can get along with anyone in there and it's always nice and tidy with no hassel.

Great little old school pub hidden just down a little side street just down from Wednesbury town centre! It’s got a great oldy homely feel when you walk in that you don’t get with newer pubs! Decent prices for food and drinks and the staff are helpful! Also has a small beer garden when the sun is out! Would go again 👍🏼

Was there for a funeral wake so can't comment in depth but there was a warm friendly welcome accompanied with good food and drink.

Would recommend going to this pub it's the oldest pub in wednesbury me & my mom have had food here a very lo g time the food is brilliant & the staff are friendly very welcoming

Visited today for dinner, staff where lovely. The food wasn't the best on this visit. We all left our chips we couldn't eat them. They seemed burnt and tasted sweet. Portions where smaller but price had gone up. Looking at the chips they may have been done in dirty fat or oil.. Its sad I have to put this but I feel they need to improve.. Its a lovely pub and team. Just work on food again.

Called here for a family get together and meal, very comprehensive menu with wide choice, ordering was quick and easy, food arrived promptly and was excellent, all plates were completely cleared which shows how good the quality was. Well done!!!!

Great pub with an old fashioned vibe. Some excellent, well kept ales on offer and good food the previous time we visited, but haven't eaten there since new management took over. Look forward to sampling it soon. 😀

Used this pub in the past but haven't been for a while. I popped in to check it out as a place to meet my friends. Very friendly greeting and very helpful staff. To round it off I had the best pint of of Hobgoblin Gold I have ever had. We will be using this pub again.

We went here for the first time today I can honestly say it's an old fashion small pub, but the food oh wow how nice & enjoyable.

This is an amazing pub with a fantastic atmosphere. My family met here on Friday 21/08/21 to remember our mother’s birthday,we had a wonderful time and the Manager even presented us with free sandwiches and cakes. We even got the back room to ourselves. We have also eaten here before and the food is excellent value for money.

Went for Sunday lunch, lovely food and friendly staff. Good selection of drinks. The Bottel has always had a nice relaxed atmosphere, already re booked for a midweek meal.

It’s over 18 months since this pub served food, but they resumed cooking on 14th June. I booked my family in for the first Sunday lunch of the new menu and new chefs. It was Father’s Day - what could possibly go wrong?Absolutely nothing! The welcome and attention from the staff was wonderful, the food was plentiful, well cooked, well presented and delicious. The atmosphere was comfortable and relaxed, with everyone very friendly.This is a pub that could easily be called a restaurant. I thoroughly recommend it and have already booked the next family meal.

Visited this pub recently with my two children, staff very polite on arrival, seated straight away and served drinks. Decided to order food which was reasonably priced, didn’t have to wait long which was great, food came out piping hot and great portions. The food was absolutely fantastic, ordered desserts aswell which were also very tasty and a generous portion. My son has already asked when we are going back. Staff can’t do enough for you, my whole visit was made pleasurable from start to finish. Well worth a visit.

Went into tonight for the first night of food being served again and I was not disappointed! The steak and chips were delicious! Puddings were even better! Staff were friendly and covid rules were adhered to. Will definatly be going back for seconds.

Went in today with my family, it was the first night of the food being back on and everything ran smoothly. The food is reasonably priced and the portions are great! I had the cheese and potato which was todays special for only £5.50. It was delicious! Waiter staff were very helpful and always around when needed! Great pub and great food!

First time there 😊 but to pay £1 for soda water is a bit much 🤬 when it's free at most pubs

I Come to this pub 3 times a week . Tonight myself wife and dad was rejected at the door saying the pub was at capacity and we should have called in order to book a table. On the way out we spoke to 2 men who were going in the pub. We said its a waste of time unless you have booked. One man said we will chance it. The three of us watched the 2 men just walk straight in and was not rejected like we was . This is comletly unfair to say one thing to us but then to allow others in straight after is just a piss take. For that reason I will never step foot in here again. Its a total shame as i recommend this pub to all my friends and family. Guess what. I will tell them to avoid from now on also you have lost my custom too. Totally disappointed

It's run very well during lock down. Making sure you sign in and serving you at your table but they need more signs around to tell customers to wear their masks when they come in and depart the pub, also when they go to the toilet.

It's an old old pub with the ground floor on different levels, low doors etc, good choice of drinks but may be a little hard to find if you dont know the area, but if your in the area then try it.

You need to go just to see what a real pub looks like. A very old establishment. Step off the street and the warm cosy atmosphere is just what you want (espy when you have just been to IKEA) stepped in history, it's an amazing place. Good G n T's and beer is kept well ! If nothing else go for a history lesson! We love it.

Wow a lovely , warm ,full of character very very old pub! And it's just next to IKEA so when we go shopping we go there for refreshments. You must must visit to get the atmosphere, it's just like a proper pub should be!

Been here many times and sadly I have to say the food isn’t presented very well and the female bar staff are not very pleasant I think management do try but as stated female staff mainly evenings come across as unpleasant (sorry ) I can’t recommend sadly to eat there anymore

What a find proper pub not pretending to be anything other than a pub

Not had a refit at all, just ripped up a carpet and removed a bar. None of us got the full content of our meal, all had something missing. Place full of mainly men, none of the old faces. Got asked to move although they had reserved us that particular table because some entertainment was going to set up. That didnt happen for another hour. The bill came with lots of little add ons which we didnt understand. Staff not friendly at all. Never again.

Hubby and I have now had two meals in this delightful pub. Between us we have had the scampi, sirloin steak, Hunter chicken and fish and chips. All delicious, well cooked meals, with generous portions and at such reasonable prices. All the staff are friendly and helpful and it’s a pleasure to be here. There is entertainment on some Saturday evenings, and quizzes on Sundays. Apparently other events are planned. All in all the welcome return of a friendly local pub.
