Went here for a family fun day, kids really enjoyed it. Fun for them non stop. Staff were brilliant joining in with games and activities and everyone felt welcome. Great day

I had a birthday 🎂 party at the George Pub. The manager Heather so kind and helpful. The staff are amazing. There like family. They got the room ready dressed the tables in the colours I wanted I could not have asked for more. Xxxxxxxxxx

We came for the bingo on Tuesday and everything was amazing, food was lovely, service was brilliant and Joanne was a star

We really enjoy coming to The George whether it’s for food or events that they have on. Always a great atmosphere, and lovely, friendly staff who take their time to get to know us especially Joanne. We wouldn’t go anywhere else.

The George is made by it's staff who are wonderful and for whom nothing is too much trouble. Ford is good and more than ample with a good varied menu. Prices are very reasonable Well recommended

This used to be my local to home, but since parents died and I moved away I haven't been in for some years. There were a few gents sitting drinking but not too busy. We ordered food and a drink. I hadxa salad with chicken and bacon and my brother had a lasagne from the Offers menu. Probably one of the tastiest salads I've ever had in a pub,didn't need mayo or salad cream. The lasagne looked good but I'm not allowed red meat at the moment. A few more diners came in. Service was swift and friendly and the young lady was happy to box up the remaining for my brother to.take home. I noticed that some doors could do with a lick of paint and some chairs need reupholstering. Let's keep this local gem up to scratch please. Another visit with my brother on a very cold January day. It was warm when we entered but there was a draft and my knees were cold! Not helped by smokers constantly going in and out! We enjoyed our food and I brought a meal home for my husband. It was quite busy for a weekday , good to see folks have money to spend in January. Staff are friendly and obliging. Would you consider selling decaff coffee please?

Food was tasty and there's a great deal for kids in the wk £1 with every adult meal. Busy but not too busy and plenty of entertainment. They were good with allergy requests too.

Love this pub. Run by Heather who is lovely and can't do enough for you. Took the grandchildren to pumpkin carving breakfast and Halloween Disco, all had a Brilliant time. Pub was rammed which shows its good. Will continue using this pub, very homely and family orientated. Thank you fir a grwat week

- Need to improve the crowd management, specially when you had advertised as Halloween party. - We had booked table but our table was not reserved for us which meant we had to spend time standing for other customer to leave, I am very disappointed about that. - We were asked to sit at another table and when we had settled we were suddenly asked to leave saying the table was reserved, which is highly unprofessional

Great pumpkin carving and breakfast again today. The staff were all incredibly helpful and polite as always overseen by Jo. The family events here are always brilliant well organised events that are great value for money ! Well done to all concerned !

Food not too bad although the steak was very tough which spoiled it a little.

I had a very tasty lasagne and a tonic water. The service was good. Nice and cosy. Loved the place. Had chairs for small children. You can enter with the baby carriage. It was nice.

I've gone to The George my whole adult life, on and off. It's always been poorly run, since the 90's but if you're just drinking, a pub is a pub, i suppose. The problem is with the food. For months now, I've constantly had to wait, sometimes over an hour for food and if someone is professional enough to bother to let you know - it's because they have takeaway orders to attend to. You just get a blank stare when you point out that real in house customers should be prioritised but it continues to happen, again and again. I don't know who is sad enough to order takeaway from a pub anyway but they're definitely given priority. The food is also bog standard at best and i only eat there because my mate's want to, due to its proximity but it just isn't good enough. Avoid, unless you just want a no frills pint and even then, there are better options available.

Great friendly staff, good entertainment on Friday and Saturday nights and very reasonable prices compared to other pubs. Big shout to the staff they make you feel welcome.

Friendly, go to local pub. The staff are quick with service but also friendly and give great recommendations with the new drinks especially cocktails and the food. Will glady visit again, all staff ran by Heather are amazing!

Went to the George for dinner tonight it was our first visit Food was delicious had jerk skewers would defo recommend my girlfriend had a steak which was cooked to perfection. Will be back on Saturday now for the fight now we know how lovely the food was Came back on Saturday music and entertainment was great

Great place to go for a quiet drink or social occasion. Staff are always friendly and approachable, especially Sarah. She is always on hand deal with any issues with a smile.

5star pub providing amazing food, very reasonable priced quality drinks. Multiple tvs in bar and lounge showing all Premier sports for everybody. Bingo/poker and quizes fill days and evenings. The team headed by Heather and Sarah with the friendliest staff. Definitely the place to be. Encourage everybody to give it a go..

Cracking pint nice and tidy cor ask for more

Despite the encouragement to order on the app , the experience was awful. Took 15 minutes and a visit to the bar to check on the order to receive the correct drinks and when the food came out one order was wrong and it took a further 15 minutes for this to be corrected. Complete disorganisation when it comes to ordering on the app. Wouldn’t return again.

Went for a family meal on Saturday It was busy but the people working were still friendly and helpful The food was delicious and there was a singer who really set a great atmosphere. The lady behind the bar gave me a list of all up and coming live music so if it is the same as Saturday we will definitely be back as we enjoyed it. Defo recommend well done !

Hit and miss at times not to bad though.

The nachos did not have sufficient topping for a large portion for 2 & the chicken was dry on the jerk chicken skewers I would suggest serving these with some sauce such as BBQ or something

Have to say a big thanks for the service and lunch from the great staff at The George. Had lunch with my Dad, stepmother, auntie and my partner. Everything was great, from asking for a table to be moved so we could all sit together in my stepmoms favourite area to the excellent food served. The only one little thing is that the music was a tad loud. My dad is deaf and with hearing aids loud background noise makes it difficult for him to hear, and I must admit that towards the end of our visit I was struggling to hear what others were saying also as the music sound seemed to increase. But we will return 😁

Been drinking in there from the age of 🔞 with my Dad so many memories still see him standing up the bar Happy Day's.

Just a quick drop in and to my suprise was playing bingo what a place for couple ladies to relax in on a Tuesday afternoon and feel safe

A group of 7 went for lunch Wednesday 22nd. From the moment we walked through the door we felt welcomed. Lauren was very friendly and helpful while carly was great on the till, very helpful and patient while taking our food order (we had a picky member with us who wanted everything plan or with no sauce🙈) These ladies are a credit to the team🌟🌟 thank you for a lovely afternoon😊

Held my sisters 80th Birthday Party buffet, presentation & staff was first class nothing was too much trouble would highly recommend made it a perfect day thanks to all the staff involved

We attended the George early this week and the service we received was amazing specially from a lovely lady called Laura, she went the extra mile to make sure my child had his favourite snack, thank you so much, we will certainly be back.

Served by Joanne, really loverly smile welcoming and polite. Food is well presented and tastes nice, welcoming to all families and age groups. A great place to spend a afternoon.

We drink here regularly and the atmosphere is that of a real local although being part of a larger chain. With a great mixture of people from families and couples to just an old man at the bar the staff here are always friendly, enthusiastic and happy!! Joanne makes the bar feel like a very comfortable place to spend an afternoon or evening for a drink or two with friends.

Came here a few weeks ago for breakfast as it was highly recommended by a friend and it’s become a regular thing for me on a Sunday morning the food and service is amazing would highly recommend
