Amazing a truely invigorating intellectual experience with a very high standard of etiquette good too see the chaps spritely fellows

Lovely juicy burger and a surprisingly nice Greene King beer called False 9. Long time since I've enjoyed a Greene King beer.

Food was delicious, cooked wonderfully, great portions, full of flavour. Service was quick and friendly. Great atmosphere, locals were friendly.

Lovely old pub in Davidson's Mains. Conservatory area is ideal for private functions and leads onto a lovely beer garden.

Difficult to rate a wake but the staff did really well to look after the family - delicious food, good service.

Dave the shift manager cut me and some friends off after two pints. No reason behind it and he didn’t even speak to our faces

refused us after 2 pints! Just a couple of boys trying to have a few drinks. Completely unfair and unnecessary.

Breaded fish was more like battered fish.

Semi regular visit for meal with old friends. The weather probably kept people at home so wasnt as full as normal for a Friday night, but that had the bonus of making the service very quick. Had the breaded fish and probably the best I've had there. Really fresh and tasty. Finished with coffee and mints to round of a very pleasant evening.

We’ve been coming here for years now and I don’t know what’s happened recently but the service has been getting worse and worse each time we go in. Staff just standing behind the bar when they used to come to the table for food orders. We have experienced much better service and hopefully this is just a blip and I’ll happily edit the review if we experience better service next time but I feel it’s important that it’s noted that the last few times we did not find it good.

I was there sunday 25th feb 2024 and I can honestly say I had the best roast beef dinner ive ever had in my life! It was amazing and so much of it that I shared it with my 2 year old. Best place and amazingly priced. Ive told lots of people about it and I know a few who have booked tables as not to be disapointed. The chef is such a good cook.

Best bar in the North West of Edinburgh. Friendly staff, great food. Awesome quizes on Wednesdays. Huge beer garden.

We were at here at a post funeral "do". It was very well done. The food and staff were excellent and it was a nice atmosphere.

We had a small gathering for my mum's 80th and booked out the conservatory for the afternoon. Staff were fantastic, lovely buffet all in all a lovely day/evening would definitely recommend the Ye Olde Inn for a small function.

I booked a funeral tea for 1st February I would like to thank the staff for the lovely fresh food provided there was more than ample, everyone who attended commented on this and also on the staff being efficient pleasant but not intrusive.. I would highly recommend your establishment to others. I may add there were people with us from all Caithness to the borders who were impressed. What was a difficult day to cope with was made a lot easier. Please pass on my thanks to your staff. Thankyou Angela Astor

A lovely bar/ restaurant but need some Heating !,back door open causing cold air into lounge/dining area such a shame as a lovely seating area and food really nice , ended up had a drink then went home and Called a Chinese ! that’s not good business sort it out !!! I want to support this pub!

Haven't eaten in here yet the main reason I go there is because the BAR area is dog 🐶 friendly and I can go in for a drink with my border collie Benji . Bar staff very friendly like Benji a lot as do the local clientele. Highly recommended. Also in summer this establishment has a massive beer garden where dogs are also allowed 🤟🤟🤟

At popular times the entire lounge is reserved for dining. If you are in for a quiet drink you must use the small noisy side bar. Not a place to bring a date.

A fairly basic local pub but the staff are great and the food was better than expected.

I've had fish and chips battered and it was lovely fish cooked perfectly the batter was lovely and crispy I had balmoral chicken that was lovely staff are friendly. Nice little pub I would recommend a visit.

Wonderful place, very cosy, nice friendly staff, the food is delicious, I had steak pie, mashed potatoes and veg, I love the pastry and meat very tender, my friend had haggis, tattie's n turnip without the whiskey sauce, staff very accommodating,. nothing to much bother, nice wine and company.

Great food, and real family service and environment. We stayed in Edinburgh for 5 nights and had dinner there twice. I would happily recommend Ye Olde Inn to anyone.

Visited Edinburgh and popped in for a bite to eat. Way bigger than you first think. Spacious great beer garden. Food was fantastic as everyone had something different. All arrived together and staff were so friendly and polite. Great service all round. Love to go back.

Ye Olde Inn is part pub, part restaurant. We had a nice dinner in the restaurant part. The stake and ale pie is really good. Friendly staff. Lots of space.

FAO: management , Usually we visit the ye old inn and there has not been any problems but, today at around 12:30 I visited this establishment with my mum and my auntie. We were in for some lunch. Me and mum ordered ‘the big cheese’ burger and it came out in a timely manner. My auntie had informed the waitress that she was gluten free upon ordering her meal and was assured that she could have the meal and was offered a gluten free bun but did not want that and instead had chips and coleslaw and the burger with bacon and cheese. Everything was nice until… 2 hours later my auntie was violently sick when we were driving along the road and we had to stop so that she could be sick on the side of the road. We believe this was due to some type of miscommunication or misinformation or cross contamination. It’s unacceptable that a person should be violently sick and bring up their whole meal after being assured that their meal was gluten free.

Such a lovely place and atmosphere to eat and socialise in. I did not have to book. Took me and my friend with no issues. Beautiful conservatory restaurant/pub grub. Did not see the accessible entrance but didn't look around. The staff spoke to us. It is just a lovely place. Toilets. Disabled toilet. Baby changing facilities. Could not see any car parking facility.

They advertise real ale & show a Cask Marque plaque but none on. There is pumps but none for sale or management can’t change barrel. Sign of a poorly run pub & they’ve lost a lot of trade from us.

I had the Sunday chicken roast, and my niece had the Sunday beef roast. Both were great, but we slightly preferred the chicken. The sides were wonderful also. I was so happy that everything was seasoned properly. Other places seem to use too much salt. Next time, I might ask bit more gravy.

Food was terrible never visit again must have new manager as changed completely. Also very scruffy now place could do with a good scrubbing ( especially the seats .)

If you are looking for really bad nachos than this is the place for you. A dish that is so hard to get wrong but somehow they manage to do it. Very little cheese seemingly thrown on top of the chips combined with a couple of jalapeño slices and the smallest side dishes of guacamole, salsa and the worst sour cream I’ve ever tasted. Whoever is working the kitchen should be embarrassed about sending such overpriced crap out.

G Really friendly helpful staff, great service and excellent food. We were also treated to an unexpected evening of song and music from The Ukeleles. Every Monday from 6.30pm , get along there for a real treat.

Veru pleasant drink while staying locally. However, trashed our plans the next day with their no kids dining after 1900 rule

Was in here after a funeral. We were a big group split over several tables. Emotions were obviously high. Laughs were had. Tears were shed. Drinks were spilt. And through it all the staff were very understanding, friendly and accommodating. Thank you

Decent bar and lounge in the village of Davidson Mains. Large conservatory at the back, looking onto beer garden and kids play area. Very popular for food, especially weekends. Reasonably priced. The better of the two pubs in the area.

Food good however the customer service was shocking. We visited on a Thursday afternoon and was told well behaved dogs were allowed in the bar. The pub bar was relatively busy so we ordered our food and drinks. Just then an elderly male came in and started to clear his throat and started spitting on the pub carpet. He obviously had some medical condition and continued to clear his throat from the phlegm and every few minutes went outside to cough up his mucus. Due to this we asked the barman if we could be moved. He agreed that we could eat our food in the conservatory out of this males way. The conservatory was almost empty with the exception of 2 other tables. Our food arrived 15mins later and we were just tucking in when a staff member approached us and told us we had to either sit outside (it was raining and cold) or sit back in the bar as we had a dog with us. We were absolutely horrified as we'd just started eating. This staff member was quite rude and refused to listen when I tried to explain that the bar staff had said that we could be in there. We were made to sit back in the bar and carry all our food, drinks, cutlery and coats. Terrible experience and we'd never go back after being treated like that. Shame as food wasn't bad but it was cold by the time we were moved.

Inedible food. Dry Balmoral chicken and the chilli was all spice and no flavour. Service was brilliant which gave the review one star. Would have given the service 5 stars. Table of 11, bill of £350.

Two bar pub, basic bar, nice lounge with a conservatory, good range of tasty pub food, and two cask ales, can be busy at the weekends.

Food was good, service was a bit slow but busy for the number of staff on duty, very pleasant staff though, working hard.

We visited last Sunday party of 7, really disappointed with the food and the service, the food was cold, the fish came battered instead of breaded as requested and minus the garden peas that were ordered by the time the missing peas arrived we had finished our meal and the waiter seemed to be annoyed that we no longer needed them. We finished our meals but never saw a waitron after they took our order so we didn’t have the opportunity to neither replenish our drinks nor order a dessert, we won’t be back the standards have definitely dropped and there are better places deserving of my money.

Nice pub, only popped in for a quick lunch, the fish and chips was delicious and the staff were polite. I recommend parking in the Tesco round the back of the pub.

Public bar has a limited range of beers toilets to be upgraded not very clean

We were there on Saturday the 28th of January for my wee Grans 91st birthday. The staff were fantastic throughout, the meal was lovely with clean plates all round and we were lucky enough to be seated in the beautiful conservatory. Thank you for a memorable time. We will definitely be back. Xx

It brings happiness and joy that pubs like this are still here. Grant is a nuclear to to everyone, nothing is not a problem, most freshest clean pint in the town. So friendly with the locals and nothing is too much for the staff, you really feel at home. Amazingly clean, this place is spotless, so immaculate. Darts team and great dart board. I had a snack as nachos, yet again immaculate. Possibly one of the best pubs I’ve been in 2022, will need a full review, but I’ve put it forward for Scotland pub of the year.

My Experience Last night when arrive in this Pub . I asked for a Beer one hundred percent Remember pay with £20 note waitress give me back change of £10 note I told the Lady that money was missing she told me that she was going to check it in the CCTV Camera... After a while say it's that it doesn't look good it's that there is not £20 note in the till give me your mobile and name and at the end of the night we will call you if there is any leftover that how they help....... She ask for my personal details (Data Protection) I Left without drinking the beer and without my money... This is my experience in this places fell they take advantage of me a foreigner in your local place I will never not go through the door again that's how they treated me are in this establishment Never Again.

I was here with my sister for dinner, the place has a friendly atmosphere and child friendly, they're was a function on and was lovely to see everyone having a great time. We had the fish dinner, it was absolutely amazing, the fish was so light and tasty with a generous side of fries and peas, even a thick slice of bread and butter on the side, all staff very friendly and attentive all in all a great early evening out. Would definitely go back and would highly recommend it.

First time in pub. Not a drinker and only in Edinburgh due to a funeral. Very hard finding parking space.

The perfect example of a local Scottish Pub. Great food, great atmosphere, good service and a really enjoyable place for a meal without having to watch football or television.

Still a friendly local pub, but we were disappointed by the food. There was a bechamel sauce on the nachos, and the veg fajitas were over seasoned with the Cajun seasoning making them inedible.

Unfortunately no dogs in the lounge and no under 18's in the bar so when I turn up with my 14 year old, 11 year old and dog, the dog can get in the bar but the kids can't and dog can't get in the lounge. Hilarious 😂

Pub lunch and drinks in the sun. Fantastic beer garden with lots of shade.

Heerlijke "Fish & Chips" gegeten in dit verborgen restaurantje. Vooraf gebeld of er plek was (dit was achteraf niet nodig geweest). Het eten was niet al te duur, personeel vriendelijk en sanitair was ook prima. Interieur is niet heel bijzonder.
