The food was very tasty and arrived quickly. There was a lovely open fire and Penny the manager very welcoming and friendly.

Our long lovely lunchtime visit with a group of friends at the Cherry Tree was a delight. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, comfortable seating and we all thoroughly enjoyed our food from the well priced menu. The service is attentive and friendly (thank you Penny!) and we appreciated the help as one of us has a lactose allergy so we ate with confidence. Thoroughly recommended and we will be back!

This pub is old and gorgeous, the building is lovely. We were sitting right by the fire and it was fantastic. Penny was great and made our evening. We will be back!

Popped in for bite to eat and a drink, and have always been pleased with service and quality of food served here. Music on a Sunday evening is a great addition. Always a lovely place to spend time in with friends.

Sunday lunch with 3 friends was very enjoyable. The food was tasty and the service excellent. Great service in particular from Penny.

Southgate.. Served by Kinga this evening she was on duty also at our Christmas lunch 2023 about 25 covers. Very attentive speedy service assisted us immediately when time critical for last orders for food very efficient friendly returned to table to see we were OK frequently cheerful friendly she provided Very Good service on both occasions was professional at all times. Enjoyable meal and good food as always Thank you.

Lovely place to go for a drink or a meal , menu was very good for mains or snacks. One of our party is a Coeliac, Kinga went out of her way to make sure he wasn’t eating anything that could have caused a problem for him . It took her a long time to ensure his safety.

Good food, good wine and great service from Kinga. I'll definitely be paying another visit to the Cherry Tree very soon.

Thank you for looking after us so well on August 23rd. We were a party of 16 people having our annual summer lunch. The food was excellent and we were looked after very well, I would particularly like to thank Fin who gave us fantastic service. We had several changes to our pre-orders on the day which Fin accommodated without any problems. Likewise, our complicated payment was handled hassle-free. Thank you all.

Kinga took my order at the bar and was exceptionally helpful with my gluten free enquiries regarding the menu. A professional and friendly team of staff, great food and atmosphere. Sunday roast was a special treat, well cooked and good portions, it arrived fast and looked beautiful. My partner and I love the garden seating area. A lovely late lunch, and we will return another Sunday for the live music after 6pm! Thanks again, Kinga and the team! I also love the doggy bowls, water and treats available! So cute.

Ye Olde Cherry Tree is a great place to meet up with friends and have a relaxed evening out. There is a good menu with excellent food and the service is friendly. Penny, the manager, is always helpful and eager to make sure you have a good time.

Penny looked after me and my family. It was a meal booked the night before my lovely mums funeral. I couldn't have asked for anything more, from the first steps in we were treating impeccably well, the food, drinks and the kindness under the circumstances were second to non. There aren't that many great places to eat in and around Southgate, to find this place was fantastic. In fact my Irish relatives were so impressed, they returned the very next day. Thank you Penny and also to your very well trained staff on making this a wonderfully relaxed occasion.

Visited with friends and would certainly recommend this place . Nice outdoor seating /eating area for when weather is nice. Everyone in my party was happy with the food we ordered pizzas and burgers and were all nice and good quality food . The pub is a great relaxed setting to enjoy evening out with friends. All the staff were helpful and friendly.

What a fabulous set up. Lovely setting, cozy and no rushing or pressure. Tables really well spaced out and so many cozy snugs. Fantastic staff who are so attentive and obliging. Nothing too much hassle and so so lovely to deal with. You are made feel like you are at home. Really family friendly as well as being couple friendly. We have had two dinners so far and the food is top notch. Huge selection on the menu and Penny is very accommodating with allergies and willing to give assistance. A huge selection of drinks and staff willing to offer assistance. Really clean environment and facilities

I live very locally (on the next road) and am in here often so speak with experience. The staff are always helpful, the beer is well kept, and it has an added bonus of the lovely beer garden which is especially nice when it's sunny. The food is good quality, and it's a family friendly, welcoming pub - highly recommended!

Having read mixed reviews of the Cherry Tree, I was very pleasantly surprised by the service received, the pleasant ambiance and the tasty food. I would definitely recommend. It was a very welcome and warm retreat from torrential rain and cool temperature outside.

Me and my family came to the restaurant for food over the weekend and I was quite perturbed to here the manager speak to a member of the team around my table with my young children with me in a Very bullying manner. My wife was shocked. Not very manager like. Totally unprofessional. Food was great.

This was our first visit to Ye Olde Cherry Tree. We were made really welcome - one of our party was in a wheelchair and they went out of their way to help when we arrived. The food was delicious. We all had a Sunday roast: lots of fresh vegetables, delicious meat, Yorkshire pudding... We have already booked our next visit!

It use to be the best pub in the area but is definitely not anymore!!!!!!!!!. We were waiting 30 minutes for our drinks , staff seems upset and under pressure . Atmosphere is dreadful. What’s going on there ?????

Awful experience. I understand the pressure of work on the stuff when it’s busy but we went there around 10 pm for drink , stuff at the reception was quit unfriendly and rude . We were waiting for 25 minutes on a quiet night for our drink . It was a disaster service however the place and garden beer was lovely .

There is no doubt that the ye old cherry tree is a great pub. Nothing is to much trouble for the staff, covid regulations are in place and followed well. Felt completely safe and secure on my arrival and when i left the premises. Food was awesome and the range of wine was amazing! Well done to Simon and his team! - cant wait to come back soon!

Have been coming here regularly since first lockdown. Lisa and the rest of the staff are friendly. She is very welcoming and looks after us old ducks. The food is generous and tasty. A little oasis for friends to meet at lunchtime.

Where do I start !!! After drinking in my local pub for many many years for either a quick pint or two or a few hours with family and friends! It now has become a total chore !!!!!! Rather than getting a welcome you feel like you are walking into a place where numbers and profit are more important than customer happiness and satisfaction Regulars who have been drinking there for many years are disappearing at an alarming rate many never to return!!!! Now using other establishments! Walk ins now seem more important than regulars who have spent much more money over the years ! Having witnessed 2 sets of regular s having been almost frog marched out myself I wonder how long the brewery take to realise the pub is going only one way DOWN !!!The staff that used to be happy now seem to be disillusioned!!! Just my opinion !!!! Oh to go back to the old days of being a fantastic welcoming pub especially Scott !!!! Even taking into account covid it’s now like walking into a sterile atmosphere!!!! Happy to discuss with brewery??? Until then will be drinking elsewhere

Had a lovely meal under the very comfortable covered area of the beer garden. Our waitress Lisa was as accommodating as ever. Will return here over the summer!

Large outside space. Some areas have a heater and protected from the rain. My friends and myself had great time and table service from Lisa. A limited menu which we expected due to covid restrictions and tasty. Lisa is professional and very good at her job dealing with the many tables outside.

Had lunch with my dad and 3 year old daughter. They’ve a lovely undercover outside area, with heaters which was perfect as it rained. Food was lovely. Child portion was great! Lisa our waitress was very friendly, my usually shy daughter warmed to her. We had good banter as the menu has been updated and extended and we’d picked new items much to Lisa’s amusement! Will go back and highly recommend.

My visit to Cherry tree last week I can describe as absolutely awful and a confusing experience. I came with my elderly parents. By the entrance which we always used in the past we been send away in a very arrogant manner. I would like to address that my mother has just recovered after her hip replacement operation. We were sent to the Main Street side entrance which is badly marked from the car park! It is quite a walk specially for my mother. The staff ( tall gentleman with dark hair and beard) showed no interest to assist us when we been waiting in usual entrance for several minutes to be escorted to our table. Further on service and food was great, however the overall experience was disappointing as it was my parents first day out after they been shielding for so many months. I don’t understand what’s happened to our local pub ...

Had a very pleasant lunch in the garden, tables are reasonably distanced so you're not crammed on top of each other. Food was good quality basic pub food and the staff was conscientious with covid protocols, face masks etc. which was reassuring. Very friendly and relaxed table service, in particular from Lisa and Francesca. I would go back.

@ye_tree Illegal parking mafia permits an mafia to operate at their pub, at their off public parking space at back. We parked our car at their designated parking area, stayed 2 hours paying them 150 pound worth of custom for dinner. nowhere in visible sight was tjere any warning it were private or price were to be found.6 months later we now still fighting off harrassement and threats by threats by ill reputed debt collector representing the pub that we owe them 180 pounds forcan  illegal  "penatly" fee for..no barrier, no visible signage no NOWT

Visited for 87t birthday celebration. Food & service fantastic. Waitress Lisa & staff very attentive . Recommend highly.

Scott welcomed us back, Ivona brought our lunch. Lisa gave us a cheery hello. I had scallops which were lovely. The Xmas decs look great along with the warming fire. It was like coming home.

We visited to celebrate my Mums birthday . The pub is an old coaching house style pub , with real fires , making it very cosy. The service is great, everyone is very friendly as well as being very efficient. The menu is extensive and the food is of a high standard . We had sea bass and fish cakes followed by creme brulle all of which were fab. We can't wait to visit again .

Me and my family visited on Wednesday 14th October. We had a very promot and friendly service from our lovely waitress Lisa. She made us feel very welcome and was extremely efficient. Top mark's to her!

I took my girlfriend for diner. Food was great. My duo of lamb was high class restaurant quality, 5 stars. Service was fantastic, great atmosphere with cozy fire place. Great selection of gin. Highly recommended

The Ye olde cherry tree is a family friendly and a very welcoming pub , I’ve been a few times and the service is always first class and helpful! I would definitely recommend the Ye olde cherry tree in Southgate as food , service and hygiene is always 5 stars.

Great service , food not so . Should have known better a fish cake !!! Very small . Advertised with lobster and white fish couldn’t find any fish or seafood . Disgraceful . Never again cherry . Great staff though !!. In response to your comments , as ever when this sort of thing happens , not to spoil my guests special day and lunch I did not complain at the time , always better to review after the event .I was offered the large portion which I agreed to , i presume that I received the small. However as discussed the main issue was the lack of the fish / seafood ingredients in the fishcake . It would have been helpful in your response to make some sort of attempt to encourage disgruntled guests to return !!! I was also surprised at the condition and lack of maintenance in your garden area etc , rubbish bins full unkempt garden broken fences etc . The dirty toilets with a fruit fly issue , in complete contrast to the warm cozy atmosphere in the pub itself .

Do yourself a favor and visit this lovely restaurant in London. The service is unmatched. The staff truly cares about your experience. I visited with family to celebrate my 22nd Birthday and even in these strange times the staff were incredible! The food is absolutely amazing – everything we tasted melted in other mouths. Absolutely the best meal we had in a while. Highly recommend! Cannot wait to visit again.

Went for lunch today with a friend. Had 50% off voucher for food which was great value. Lisa and the other staff couldn’t do enough. It’s clear times are tough for the pub sector, but they were so cheerful and helpful. Thanks for a lovely lunch.

Lovely half price lunch here today. Waitress (sorry forgot your name but you called us girls and have worked there for ten years!!) was really lovely and friendly. Food came out quick (bit pricey if you paid full price but make the most of the half price mains on the app) and was tasty. Sat in the garden enjoying the last of the summer sun. The fairy lights and log fire inside were fabulous and Covid measures all adhered to!

Returned to one of my local pubs after a long time, and safe to say I will be going back a lot more often. Nice beer garden on a sunny day, good drink selection, excellent management and friendly staff. The manager also sorted out my parking notice confusion - there is parking for customers but make sure you read the parking signage in the car park unlike me and you'll be as good as!

We’ve visited the Cherry Tree several times this summer to meet up with friends, both inside and in the garden. Although it’s far from being our nearest pub we choose it because it’s so well organised. Scott is a fantastic manager. I just wish there were more like him. The food has been great and the interior and garden are so spacious and airy that we feel very comfortable there.

I had a lovely time at the pub, however when I ordered some Salt and pepper calamari the portion was not up to standard, luckily a lovely waitress called Sophia sorted it out and got me some extra! All around good experience!

I visited today with twelve family members, impromptu, after my Dad’s funeral and we were well looked after by all staff, particularly Kenny(?) the Scot. We distanced ourselves appropriately in the garden and said goodbye to someone dear to us in a very nice way.

I can’t thank the manager enough for helping to organise my father in law’s wake enough . Nothing was a problem. We arrived to tea and coffee in a small room and then were provided with a lovely lunch . The manager was amazing and made organising the wake stress free. An absolute star x

Amazing place like no other in Southgate. Very welcome, friendly and attentive staff. Safety is they first priority, I wish more places where looking after safety measures like they do. Food amazing. I hope to be returning very soon.

We visit The Old Cherry tree on a regular basis. My 97 year old Mother in law enjoys going there. There is always a warm welcome especially from Lisa. Who is a true sweetheart. She goes above and beyond to make our visit very enjoyable. The food is top quality. Would definitely recommend this venue to others.

Went along with my son and a friend. The staff were very flexible and supportive with handling my autistic son who was having a challenging time. The food was great! The steak and peppercorn sauce was very delicious 😋. Simply perfect

When sat outside we were attacked by wasps and were kindly assisted inside by a lovely blonde lady. The chosen area also had a wasp as it was a lovely day outside with the doors open, so Lisa helped us move again. They were very nice and helpful about the whole situation, as the wasps were only affecting us. The stone baked pizza was also delicious, and the inside had cute decor. Recommend

Came to the cherry tree for a meal in the sun and was greeted by the most amazing staff. Lisa ensured we had everything we needed and was always around to offer a smile and a chat. Brilliant service all round!

Went for a birthday lunch for my daughter and was served by an extremely friendly gentleman who made us welcome straight away. He even made a my daughter fruit shoot drink special by putting it in a cocktail glass for her! We enjoyed the 50% off food and soft drink incentive too! Highly recommended!

Really enjoyed the food and drinks. The service was fantastic. We felt safe as the social distancing measures were in tact. If ur not adhering to social distancing it is not for you. Good ribeye steak & fab rioja red wine. Lisa was great at taking our order and the service during our visit. Lovely socially distanced beer garden and seated tables. Wonderful sunny weather to enjoy the experience. Great to see Lisa and the staff after 4 months away with lockdown.

I came here to have afternoon lunch with my partner. we followed the social distancing measures set out by the pub. We were served by the lovely waitress Lisa . Lisa was very attentive and checked if we needed anything. The steak and sea bass we had was delicious. Would definitely come back again.

Last pub I visited before all the Coronavirus shut downs. Slightly dear but lovely place overall. I hope they reopen soon.

Pedimos una comida de buffet que era muy buena y habían separado parte del pub para nuestros huéspedes. El ambiente era encantador y cálido, que era justo lo que nuestra familia necesitaba. Gracias nuevamente Scott por tan maravilloso servicio.

Very welcoming, friendly atmosphere and good food. Restaurant tables have their individual space and not squashed up like some places and decor is tasteful.

My wife and I had Sunday lunch at this venue today and were pleasantly surprised. The food was excellent service superb and we were very pleased with the price. We both had the pate to start with followed by the roast beef my wife having the marinated lamb. Too finish with we chose the coffee with a crumble. I have to say that it was the best Sunday lunch out that I have had for many a year. Without a doubt we will be returning! The food was not out of a packet but cooked as I would at home we cannot praise the staff enough. Highly recommend this venue.

The food is basic pub grub. Good menu choices and food pretty decent. Lost a star as the staff didn't get our order right. One meal missing. Very apologetic and gave us a round of drinks. But would've been nice if we could have all eaten at the same time. Other than that no complaints.

I love this country style pub, without sounding like an alcoholic if I was local I would be here every night. Scott was brilliant.

Group lunch enjoyed by all. When 6 extra people arrived making our group 20 the staff quickly set up more seating. The orders were taking efficiently and starters followed shortly after. The main courses were substantial and delicious. (The lobster fishcakes were great). The staff were attentive and helpful. The special offer reduced our bill and sent my friends home with a smile. The Olde Cherry Tree is a coaching Inn and is 400 years old. Great atmosphere and a very helpful manageress. Nothing was too much trouble.

Great grub, fine selection of ales. pub dating back as coaching inn to early seventeenth century. Log fire burning. The staff were courteous and really helpful, especially the assistant manager.

Food was nice service was below standard. This really hindered the meal even though it was busy would have thought there would have been more staff

We were encouraged from the very outset, revisiting after several years and guided by the new canine-friendly environment. The staff were attentive, well turned-out and most welcoming. The Boxing Day three course set lunch was excellent value. The choice was good. The monkfish and turkey main courses were of a high standard, and the desserts well executed. Add to this a buzzing atmosphere-it more than made up for the dismal rainy day outside.

4 of us popped in here this lunchtime and had bar service food and drinks. Wasn’t too busy but had at least a 30 minutes wait for food but that was ok as very cosy, warm and Christmassy in here. Flat bread with garlic and cheese for a starter was yummy. Dirty burger was delicious, normal burger and hunter’s chicken... I choose the fish and chips which I regretted! Honestly had hardly any fish inside and the batter was rock hard! Very disappointed! Wish I’d chosen the burger! Left still feeling hungry.

We booked our work Christmas lunch here for 10 of us from the Christmas Menu and it was one of the best we have had. Really nice, cosy atmosphere.

With a restaurant pub you know things can be variable as is evidenced from the reviews. However for 2 nights running we had excellent food and service. I obviously can't guarantee 5 stars for everyone but this is a very nice venue with friendly helpful staff and great food.

This is my local pub and the atmosphere is amazing. They have nice fairy lights outside and heaters too! The staff are friendly and professional and drinks aren't too pricey.

...if the management was to care a little bit more.
