Ye Old Ferrie Inn in Herefordshire, County of

Stayed for one night on a Sunday and had a lovely meal and breakfast. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The pub was really busy on the Sunday night so glad we booked a table. It's a unique location and an excellent base for walking and exploring the area.

Really good food and managed to fit us in last minute without any issues. Weather was lovely so sat outside and enjoyed being spoiled by the attentive staff

Just spent a brilliant two days at YOFI catching up with friends and enjoying the Wye Valley. Jaime and team were brilliant. Comfortable rooms, great local ales (well kept), a super cooked breakfast and tasty food for dinner - great burgers and a brilliant rib-eye steak. Best of all was the service from the team and the very warm welcome. A great place for lunch or dinner or to spend a couple of days enjoying this AONB. Thank you YOFI for a fantastic weekend!

We had the most wonderful weekend stay here! The rain poured down but it didn't bother us, we loved getting cosy in the room and had some wonderful meals in the restaurant. The atmosphere was great too, you can tell its a local favourite of many. The breakfast was really good too! Would really recommend a stay here, the service was absolutely excellent and they couldn't do enough for you. We ventured out one night to try another pub for dinner, and we wish we had just eaten here instead.

We had a 3 night stay. The room was comfortable and big enough for us. The bathroom was a little compact but a good shower and again it was fine for our needs. We ate at the pub all our 3 nights. The food was really good. Menu was varied and not overly expensive for the location. Breakfast was included in the price and again it was very good. Every member of staff we had any dealings with where very friendly taking the time to talk to us and giving us tips on the area. If we are in the area area again I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend. It was a shame the river was so high we couldn’t get to go on the hand pulled ferry. Arranged a family gathering for my daughter’s engagement. There were 25 of us and from the moment we arrived nothing was too much trouble. Unfortunately due to an accident on the M4 some of the Welsh contingent were late. However it was not a problem, as not only had we had a table reserved in the restaurant, we had an area also reserved for us outside. The service was incredible, and I can honestly say I have been in the hospitality business for nigh on 40 years and I have never ever been so impressed. Food was excellent as were the drinks. We arrived at 12.30 and didn’t leave until 6. If they will have us back, everyone cannot wait to do it again!

Was going to have lunch but had to park in the bit where you have to pay for parking only to be told it was coins only and he had no change so we left and went to the old court which was great, so can’t actually comment on the pub or the food

Great food, staff and visit. Tables come up frequently outside even though can’t book and always an enjoyable experience.

Great dining experience - best steak I have ever had - charcuterie superb - breakfast spot on - friendly staff - clean and airy rooms with great views over the River Wye - a must go and stay - if not just go and dine there - busy on a Saturday night but service was exemplary

Lovely pub, manager is an outspoken jobsworth - rest of the staff are a delight. Beautiful setting right by the river. Manager had it in for us from the moment we arrived. Insults, felt very unwelcome by Stephan. Clearly he didn’t like the look of us (but truth be told I wasn’t a fan of his crocs or multi coloured Mohawk ). When I asked him for a number for a taxi he told me to walk home along the A40 (jokes on him because I got a taxi so get stuffed Stephan) Would return but wouldn’t look forward to meeting the jobsworth again :/

Been twice before and was singing its praises. Took another couple there to experience it. Luckily for me the menu had not changed - great I thought. I will have exactly what I had 2 weeks ago. Ordered "whitebait" again and so did my companion, tasted great but we must have shared a portion this time. Oh the special lamb with Lyonnaise potatoes still on - looking forward to that. Service very slow had to ask when was the food coming, when it did turn up the potatoes where boiled and some lamb flakes had been pressed into a circular shaped ring. ( we were not late diners but it felt like I had the last of the bits). It tasted Ok but what a disappointment over the last visit. From my first visit on the desert menu the crepes are not crepes - be warned. Numerouse great food outlets in and around Ross so I'll be going to them next Friday.

Booked to take friends for Sunday lunch and thought the service was very good although the food was disappointing as meals were rather cold and roast potatoes were like bullet. We ate around 3 o’clock so perhaps this was a reason however for the price it should have been fresh and piping hot whatever the time . Also a small dish of vegetables between four was not enough . Sadly won’t be returning

Stayed for 3 nights with breakfast each morning and had dinner there one evening. Nice menu variety for breakfast choices. excellent baked camembert on dinner menu. 'Kingfisher' Room was clean and comfortable, spacious by UK standards but required climbing narrow stairs. No dresser/drawers for storage and only one chair for sitting somewhere besides the bed but there would be room for 2... very helpful and friendly staff. Dining room/bar doesn't really have any comfortable seating that makes you want to linger (all are hard/wood dining room style chairs) but very nice location right at the river.

We came today for a Sunday roast. The setting is beautiful, wish it was sunnier so we could enjoy outside but equally I bet it’s so cosy in the winter! Roasts around £20 each which seems pretty normal now a days. Massive portions so definitely worth the money. Good selection of non alcoholic drinks. Staff were helpful. Only negative was parsnips and carrots were practically raw and the potato’s were a bit anaemic. Lovely experience.

My boyfriend and I have just enjoyed a very lovely and relaxing stay at this lovely hotel nestled in the hillside that is, Symonds Yat. We were welcomed on Friday evening by friendly and helpful staff. I had made a mistake when booking our table but the team were kind enough to accommodate us despite my error and made space for us. They have a lovely setup in the restaurant which is both clean, with a good selection of food and drinks and board games! Our room was comfy and had a beautiful view over the river. Breakfast was included and it did not disappoint. It’s the perfect spot for a riverside drink or a weekend stay. We really enjoyed our stay here, and we would recommend it to anyone.

Just got back from a great 2night break at Ye old Ferris inn at Symands Yat. What a great place to stay. Spotlessly clean, great rooms with lovely views of the river Wye. The food was excellent and the staff really make you feel welcome. Nothing is too much trouble. Would definitely recommend this place.look forward to going back at some point .

A beautiful location albeit a little tricky to get to, have visited on quite a few occasions now but last 2 visits as a couple just for a drink will be the last sadly, may have been unlucky but the last visits on a Friday & Saturday evening to sit outside ruined each time by big groups of men drinking heavily, swearing & just loud, made it a very uncomfortable situation so finished the one drink & left to go somewhere else, if you are going with young children then think carefully as not a nice atmosphere to be sat in if like me you encounter the large groups drinking heavily.

We stayed at this hotel/pub on a last minute decision & what a good decision that was. Absolutely beautifull scenery. We stayed 2 nights. Room was very clean & had everything we needed. Breakfast was fab. We ate dinner in the reatutant one night, the food & staff were amazing. It was a nice sunny weekend so was very busy so def recommend booking reatutant. Can’t wait to go again

They offered to and then brought our cases up 3 small,but steep flights of stairs and back down in the morning (Its an old amazing building). The food service was great, not rushed and tasty. The breakfast was all fresh local ingredients, delicious and served with a great attitude and conversation. Nothing was too much trouble. The room was spacious, clean, excellent facilities. The views are incredible. I wished we had more time to stay longer. It was truly spot on.

Excellent place to eat and catch up and staff were great food was very tasty and the drinks were reasonable. Situated by the river with free parking definitely worth a visit.
