What can I say about the magical evening I spent with your young bar man, Paul was it? He serves a mean pint and his eyes sparkle as he talks to you.

I came here for some food with my husband and we had a lovely Sunday roast. The lovely young man that served us called Paul was so friendly and made our experience so relaxing. Would definitely recommend here for a nice Sunday meal

The service was fantastic, we were really made to feel welcome. I believe the bar man’s name was Paul. Lovely atmosphere and the cakes are delicious.

I just went for breakfast. Good sized portions at a reasonable price and very friendly service.

We had lunch here after a trip to Chartwell. I found it on Google and chose it based on the reviews, and wow, we were not disappointed. The atmosphere of the 16th century is amazing, matched by the food and service! (Having a resident dog completed the cozy feel!) Our server was great, very friendly and attentive. The burger I had was cooked to perfection I thought–charred slightly on the outside, but still juicy on the inside. While I live too far away to come back often (Canada), my friends said they will be back, and they live a lot closer! Kudos to the owners and staff!

Stayed for B&B....very good room, bathroom a bit tight though. Breakfast and service very good. Charming old pub positioned in the centre of Edenbridge....makes a great base for exploring the local area.

Walking through Edenbridge we came here which had been recommended. Its a delightful pub with a limited but varied menu. The food they produce was brilliant. We had the small bites and some chips and the meal was delicious. Great service and the pub is charming.

It's a traditional countryside hotel that must stay highly recommended .

This review relates to food only as we visited for a Saturday lunch. I thought my seabass main was very well cooked with the seasoning bang on. I could have done without the big disc of butter, but it was easy for me to remove. Would be happy to visit again if I find myself in that part of the world.

Great location for our needs and real atmosphere in 'Ye Olde Crown' especially in the beer garden. Our second time staying here so we were aware of the possible noise near our room which was no problem but take earplugs if you need to have total quiet. Food is always good and the cakes, made by the owner, are excellent. Right next door to many facilities including a local museum, Waitrose, and plenty of shops and other food establishments to cater for everyone's likes. Highly recommended

We hadn't planned to come here after visiting Hever for the day however the pub closest was closed so we headed into Edenbridge and found this pub. Unassuming from the outside but very welcoming on the inside. The two waitresses one who was teaching the other had great customer service skills. The food was lovely. We all had roast dinners.

We visited today ,we had lovely roast beef,and lovely roast lamp, big potions tasted amazing 👏 😋

Beautiful building, lovely staff, tasty food. We came here for breakfast on a saturday morning. It wasn’t too busy and the place had a cosy atmosphere. I like the fact that avocado is an option in the “build a breakfast”. The food was good quality and affordable prices. It is also dog friendly which is nice! Will be back to try the lunch / dinner menu. Overall, Good experience and would recommend.

A perfect place to visit in the UK, the comfortable and clean rooms, with everything you need, the Pub with a special charm, the "outrageous" breakfasts, I am used to Spanish breakfast, coffee with milk, cookies or croissant and little else, but here, scrambled eggs, sausages, bacon, toast, etc..., I love it, the employees are very friendly and attentive, I will return....

New owners have really turned this pub/restaurant/inn, into a very nice atmosphere. Owners and staff are super friendly, and food is amazing and a great value.

Food was fantastic, try the venison scotch eggs if you get the chance, and the burgers were great too. Service was great. Will definitely try to come back. Nice range of coffee and cakes if you don't fancy a full meal. Lovely little icecream shop next door too!

I am very disappointed in the way the owner of the Crown handled my complaint about an over charge. 2 weeks ago I had a £7 toasted cheese sandwich with the addition of onion as requested. Ordinary sliced bread and on the kids menu, but still ok for an adult to order. Not a problem, no extra charge and delicious. Last week I attempted to order the same, a different waitress and it wasn’t so straightforward, I was told only caramelised onions available - bit strange that a pub/hotel kitchen has no onions, and I did laugh but hey. The sandwich wasn’t as nice and on top of that, when we got back home, we noticed we were charged £12 for it - an extra £5 for a smear of caramelised onions from a jar! I emailed the owner with a copy of the receipt and assumed we would have this extra fiver knocked off on our next visit. Instead the nervous young staff told us the issue had been ‘resolved’ and that the charge stands - I’d received nothing back from the owner and she didn’t want to come and have that conversation with us, just leaving it to her very sweet and understanding staff, but obviously they couldn’t overule her decision. They explained that the addition of the caramelised onions (from a jar), meant the sandwich had now become an ‘open sandwich ‘ like those on the main menu and therefore the cost is £12. Had I been told that before ordering, of course I would not have ordered it and because I’d had it the previous week at no extra charge so I had no reason to believe this would be any different. This is awful customer service - not by the part time staff, but by the owners. I feel completely ripped off. Beware.

Very friendly and beautiful staff

I’ve just returned from a 5 night stay here where I was attending a training course nearby. Pro’s: staff were all really lovely, very welcoming and friendly. Room was a good size for me on my own, would have been a bit small for two people. Tea & coffee making facilities in the room. Close to local amenities - Waitrose, Tesco local & Costcutter shops all within walking distance and open late. Con’s: WiFi didn’t reach the hotel side of the building, so was on 4g all week (including while I was trying to catch up in the evening on some work!) Heating in the room didn’t work - when I asked at the bar was told it was switched off a couple of weeks ago - had to ask for an electric heater which was provided quickly and the room then went from freezing to boiling very quickly with no in between. It was particularly cold for this time of year last week. Outer door to the area where I was staying didn’t close or lock properly. My inner room door did, but this outer door led directly to the outside seating area of the pub, anyone could have been in or out of the little corridor area and so I didn’t feel terribly safe until the pub closed up at night. No safe in the room so I had to carry my valuables backwards and forwards to my training course each day. All in all a not terribly fancy hotel for fancy hotel prices.

Small but nice. Not full selection of beers available but a comfortable enough venue for a drink and/or food.

We were looking for breakfast in Edenbrudge and found Ye Olde Crown. When the breakfasts came, the food was good and hot. It all tasted delicious. Lovely bacon, tasty sausage and black pudding. Nice Americano coffees and all at a very reasonable price. Many thanks to all the great staff.

My wife and I were looking for a breakfast venue in Edenbridge and found Ye Olde Crown. When the Englush breakfasts came they were good and hot. Excellent sausage, delicious back bacon and lovely black pudding. We had Americano coffees to go with the breakfast. All at a very competitive price. Just had the bulid your own breakfast. FANTASTIC. None of your cheap ingredients, you can really taste the difference. Comes with proper coffee too. Best breakfast in Edenbridge.

Thank you for making our anniversary such a nice and relaxing experience over the Easter bank holiday. Outstanding food and service the whole time, plus letting us walk the dogs was a real bonus. We would recommend this place to anyone. Looking forward to the next time!!

This is a lovely cosy pub. It caters for all ages, and has live music and a great ambience. The freshly made cakes by the landlady and her staff are fantastic. I had vanilla and biscotti and it was gorgeous. Bar staff always friendly and welcoming. The perfect pub/ hotel which is also fantastic and clean and has nice decor in keeping with this ancient building. This is the way to run a pub and keep UKs pub industry thriving along with independent businesses. But I was working there at time of review.

Amazing food and a great atmosphere, but don't call it an "all day" breakfast if it's only served from 11am til 3pm!

I was treated to a Mother's Day lunch. Opted for fish bites which were light and crispy, and then the fabulous roast pork dinner. Every mouthful was tasty and well-cooked, and well presented. And the extra treat on the set menu was a Kir Royale cocktail on arrival ! All for £25 - such good value. The staff were efficient and friendly too. What a lovely way to celebrate a special day with my family.

Stayed overnight to visit Hever Gardens. Had an excellent experience, food was amazing and service was faultless.

I often go to this cafe after work. A pleasant atmosphere, you can eat delicious food and relax after a hard day's work.

We had a lovely Sunday lunch. Our food was delicious and very generous portions. We were made very welcome with our dog Pickle . The staff who were all young were friendly , polite and helpful. Thank you all xx

Lovely old country pub. Ordered a sandwich which was disappointing really (needed nicer crusty bread & little side salad) but my friends ordered sausage casserole and a pork belly which were AMAZING! Bonus, there's 2 beautiful and friendly Samoyed dogs which live at the pub & 3 cats. If you're an animal lover and not allergic then you will love it!

Traditional country pub, with such a cosy, welcoming atmosphere. I love popping in here when I travel back to Kent occasionally - we get the best service and the food is delicious. Beth is brilliant and we constantly recommend to friends and family.

The Crown is such a beautiful pub with a menu that will tickle your tastebuds! Their adventerous with their food and it never dissapoints. The managment is so friendly and to some its like a home from home. The service is always fantastic, the one who stands out is the red head, i think her names Beth. Always service with a smile and ready to take your order! Thank you for always giving the best service and providing great food and company!

Wonderful atmosphere, breakfast and service. (Just needs brown sugar for those who don’t like white with their teas and coffees. It’s very different in taste for some people.) There now is brown sugar, thanks! Very cosy fireplace for coffee or drinks and careful where you sit as the pubs cat is sleeping.

Great food and a really lovely old school pub atmosphere. I took a client to lunch here, and the atmosphere was perfect for making the meeting really relaxed and conversational. The roaming dogs and cat was a nice talking point as well.

We had our neighbourhood Christmas meal yesterday and just like expected, it was fabulous. We were at the mezzanine floor restaurant bit which was beautifuly decorated and tables we set just right. The atmosphere was lovely, very cosy, just one thing was missing - music. I have asked if anything can be done, and Irene brought the speaker up straight away! The speed and ease she made it happened was very much appreciated. Service was brilliant, Anna was fantastic, very efficient, and nothing was a problem. We also appreciated chef Joseph coming up to ask about how food was. Everything was delicious and generous portions. Really happy with everything and personal touch from Irene makes such a difference. We also had complimentary bottle of bubbly, which was a nice touch. Thank you again for your hospitality. 5stars!

I visited Ye Olde Crown recently and loved it. It has such a nice atmosphere and feels so cosy and welcoming! The food is delicious and nothing isn’t too much trouble when it comes to customer service. Special thanks to Dominique who was really attentive, such a lovely lady who made our visit so enjoyable. What a super pub to have lunch in. The pub itself is a beautiful old English traditional tavern. Big fireplace , very cosy with a wealth of character,beams etc. The staff were amazing, friendly and helpful. The service was first class and the food was excellent. Even better when we found it was 25% off main course Monday-Wednesday all day!! Will definitely be returning and telling all my friends about it ..

2 of us went for a Roast, telephoning ahead to book. Received a warm welcome, good service and an excellent Roast Beef Meal, with plenty on the plate! Followed with a decent pudding! Compared to other pubs we’ve been to would also rate this as excellent value! Ty

Excellent pub in the heart of Edenbridge, lovely indoor area which is cosy and really nice. Outdoor area pretty good as well. Simple food menu - food and service was great, came quickly and tasty. Highly Recommend.

Visited last Sunday for a family birthday celebration, we were sitted in the upstairs room and had the whole area to ourselves. The food, especially the Sunday roasts, were lovely. The staff worked really hard and were very welcoming. I would definitely return.

Not a nice pub. Made to feel very unwelcome and would not recommend to anyone after the way we have been treated. AVOID.

We dined here as a large group in the lead up to Christmas.  We sat upstairs and although the area was a little cramped, it was beautifully decorated. The food was wonderful. Hot and fresh and came out in good time, considering there were so many of us. Our waitress was attentive and other members of staff checked on us regularly to make sure we were happy with our meals and asked if we required more drinks. There was a good atmosphere and the staff gave the impression that they cared about our dining experience and wanted us to have a good time. 

We booked a table for 15 for a Christmas party . Irene and her staff were amazing, service food and atmosphere was amazing

Popped in for a pint, barman very welcoming and efficient, locals also very welcoming. Proper old village pub with open fire. A definite must visit even if passing through. I didn't eat but the food looked lovely.

This is the 5th time I've taken people to this very cosy and atmospheric pub. Each time we have had really good meals. Yesterday we had a lovely meal, and the meals were so good everyone said they would be coming back. Made to feel very welcome by the helpful and attentive staff who served us, and I will be bringing more friends and family to this lovely pub. Very good choice on the menu, the burgers being a very big hit with 3 members of my family.

Everything was cooked to perfection and we have never been disappointed on any visit, we'll done to chef and crew, we will be back

This pub catered for a party of 15 with effortless ease. We were asked to order our food in advance but every dish was lovely and the whole party enjoyed the food. Would thoroughly recommend this pub.

Had a fantastic meal here with my family , Pizzas we’re amazing and the staff were very friendly and attentive we will definitely be returning .. 😃 the pizzas were buy one get one free which was the offer of the week

We came here more or less by chance after visiting Hever Castle, not wanting to pay the inflated prices that they charge in the castle grounds. It was mid-afternoon on a Sunday and the place seemed quite busy. I asked at the bar about the possibility of getting some food. The reply was that there should be no problem although it didn't seem exactly welcoming. Nevertheless we were soon shown to a table. We had our orders taken and waited for a while, but this wasn't a problem; as I said it was quite busy and a large table nearby had ordered well before us. Anyway it was worth waiting for. In particular I'd like to mention that the roast beef was superb and served in generous quantities. You can also get wine by the glass, which is a great advantage when only one person will drink anything alcoholic. Having taken our time over the main course, we sat with empty plates for the best part of half an hour, completely ignored by every member of staff, all of whom could clearly see that we'd finished. No one asked if we wanted anything else and no one seemed to be bothered. One of us even went to the bar and asked for someone to come and help us. There was no clear reaction to this. Only after more than 30 minutes did we manage to call a waitress over, who then asked us if we wanted anything else. By that time it was too late for us to get any desserts, as we had to leave. We complained, politely I think, to the waitress about how long we'd been left sitting, and that we now only had time for the bill. She apologised but that was all. This unfortunate episode brought a rather abrupt and unpleasant end to what started out as an enjoyable visit.

Really tasty spanish tapas and friendly staff. We come regularly for a drink or a meal, and the owners have done so much to improve it during the past year or two of Locdowns Love the fireplace!

Estuvimos esperando 40 mins después de haber encargado la comida y después de ese tiempo el camarero nos dijo que teníamos que esperar 1 hora más para poder servirnos la comida. Aparentemente tenían un reservado amigo de los dueños del pub, y tenían preferencia por ser amigos de los dueños. Nosotros eramos solo 4 personas y teníamos que esperar que todas las personas que fueran viniendo fueran Servidas antes que nosotros. No nos cobraron las bebidas pero nos fuimos sin comer.

Visited with family for Sunday lunch after being let down at another local pub. From entering the courtyard we were made to feel welcome. We were greeted by a young man and offered a choice of two tables (sun or shade) and asked if we would like drinks while we browsed the menu. Not a huge range on the menu but catered for everyone in our party with vegetarian option and small portion options. The food was scrumptious and the desserts heavenly. Tea was served on it's own tray with huge teacups, sugar cubes with tongs and posh biscuits - lovely touch! Service was brilliant from start to finish and the atmosphere was relaxed and friendly. Being new residents in Edenbridge I will definitely make this a regular haunt.

Beginning of this month me and my husband thought we would go have a drink at one of our favourite pubs, only to find it has become a nightmare!No track and trace, No hand sanitizer offered, No masks worn by the staff behind the bar or by the young lady that was walking around talking with staff (Found out she's the owner). Highly intoxicated patrons sitting at the bar chatting with staff, again No one wearing masks or gloves.Throughout our stay we had a couple of intoxicated people come sit in our space and chat to us before moving on to another group of people. There was no one stopping them from table hopping or even cutting them off from their drinks. My heart sank when I saw the lite candles on the bar! So many times I saw someone almost hit one of the candles while sitting at the bar. Naked flames on a bar with intoxicated patrons is a disaster waiting to happen. Behind the bar we noticed large jars filled with different sweets and pork scratchings, another filled with dog treats (A very nice thing to add). With everything that is going on in the world I do hope they are not serving these lose sweets and pork scratching from these jars, I can't even imagine how they would go about serving them without cross contamination.I do hope that things have changed since our last vist. Other then not being safe, the staff were very lovely and seem to get along well with the patrons.

After walking around this lovely town we saw the big gates of this pub opened and friendly guy told us about their food offer He kindly explain all the pub deals and we came in Place is been refurbished and he was telling us about all the effort they put to make this place a home for all the locals Food is amazing and well presented Staff was really good and kind to us We have seen pictures of the Sunday roast and we will come back shortly !

Friendliest staff in Edenbridge. They make you feel welcome and comfortable. The landlady is lovely and makes the customers feel at home. Lovely atmosphere and great food. A genuinely great place to visit which seems to be balancing COVID restrictions whilst maintaining warm customer service.

As soon as we entered we were concerned about the lack of Covid precautions. They may well believe that infection rates are low in this area but this is how the virus is spreading. There were about 20-30 people downstairs , none of them wearing masks as they moved about the room, some standing up, some leaning on the bar. We were able to sit upstairs in a lovely space which has been furnished and finished in a very pretty way and the food we had was lovely. The young lady waiting on us was very friendly and helpful although wearing her mask incorrectly and other guests without masks came upstairs to look around. We were told that there was a party downstairs for people related somehow to the lady who owns the place but fail to understand how this makes a difference.

Visited on Saturday night as family of 3. We had one of each tapas dish on menu and all were fantastic quality. Good mix of familiar and adventurous items. Service was prompt and friendly. In terms of Covid security (which other reviews have mentioned), this was pretty good in the restaurant. The eating area is upstairs, near to the door and away from busy pub. Tables were very well spaced out and all bar one member of staff had masks. The pub area however did not appear to be following the rules, and I can see how that would affect some people’s confidence. Overall this is a much needed addition to Edenbridge - locals will really want it to do well and support it, but working hard to change the image and make it feel safe will be important. We will return

Being an edenbridge resident I have tried to support this pub throughout its changes of management. I read the positive website reviews and their referencing children welcome yesterday and booked online for myself, my partner and our daughter age 5 yrs. We arrived to find no hand sanitiser or requests for track n trace. People were standing at the bar drinking. We were shown to our table where after sitting down it became immediately apparent that the three glasses on the middle of the table where still part filled with water from the diners of the night before and the remnants of the cutlery they hadn't used for deserts. This told us the table had not been covid cleaned between diners. I asked the waiter if the glasses were meant to be there and he said no and rushed off with them. We were given tapas menus and I asked if they have a child's menu, I was told no but have a look at the normal menu which we then waited for. On reading, the only child friendly option was sausage, mash and veg at £13.95 of which our child would waste / refuse to eat. We sat down at 1.05pm and ordered our food, there were six tables occupied in total. One hour later our food began arriving and was incomplete, we started eating and waited another 25 minutes for the remaining dishes. No explanation or mention of the delay on serving our food. The table next door had a 3 Yr old boy who waited 90 minutes for a burger. We ate and asked for the bill which never arrived, we went to them in the end to be able to pay and leave. We walked past a spilt pint of beer and broken glass on the floor to access the door, no one attempting to clean up. Five people standing at the bar,drinking.signs everywhere advise wear a mask until seated. NO COVID RULES BEING ADHERED TO BY THIS PUB, AND A VERY DISSAPOINTING EXPERIENCE.

We decided to try this pub out following the refurb, as they had a new breakfast deal - £7.95 for 5 items plus toast and a drink.The first time we were more than impressed - the plate had two slices of toast, two has browns, two rashes of bacon, a good amount of halloumi, nice tomatoes and egg. So we visited again very soon a few days later, but unfortunately there had decided they were too generous the first time. The breakfast was changed to one slice of toast, one hash brown, one rasher of bacon and a pitiful amount of halloumi. It’s rare for me to finish a breakfast and still be hungry but I was this time. For the amount we paid we could have gone somewhere else and got a lot more food. It’s disappointing as we thought we had found our new ‘breakfast place’ and we were thinking about booking a Sunday roast but we won’t be no. But on the plus side the man and woman at the bar were very friendly and welcoming. Aside from that, we were not asked for any details for track and trace, which is usual as every other pub has asked for our details. Hopefully this is now sorted.

We visited on a sunny Saturday evening and couldn’t recommend more! The food was amazing, such tasty and high quality dishes that can only come from passionate and talented chefs. The pub itself is beautiful, with gorgeous features and a lovely courtyard to sit outside. Wide drinks variety and cheery service makes it an all round winner. I can’t wait to return and try more of the food!

Goof friendly pub for a drink. I was there on a Monday evening and cask beers were only £2.30 a pint(happy days). No food but were happy to point other places to eat.

Fantastic old pub. Ok range of beers, lovely friendly service. My wife and I really liked it. Didnt eat anything so cant comment on that but if you are in Edenbridge, you have to pop in for a drink.

First visit but only looking for drinks. Not many folk around, 3 at the bar and one in the lounge area with a dog. Comfortable and interesting reins features. Had our drinks before moving on - can't comment about food, actually didn't see any menus

We were visiting the area so decided to get some lunch . Outside the boards said food all day but when we went inside it’s was only serving breakfast. People were laying around on seating and the person behind the bar had his mouth full of food whilst talking to us but he did apologise. A bit disappointing but we walked out so not a problem.

Stayed here for an engagement party, very friendly staff, the room was very spacious and the beds comfy ,plenty of complimentary bits and bobs . Had a good choice of tea and coffee in the rooms. Breakfast was amazing freshly cooked plenty of tea ,coffee and juices . Very good value for the money

Lovely atmosphere in the pub but they did not do meals in evening.The accommodation was okay and breakfast was very good, a real full English!

Stayed here for two nights. Room was clean and has been recently decorated and the carpet was changed whilst we were there with no disruption to us. The breakfast was lovely and although it says small it's not. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. We ate here one evening and food was nice. Enjoyed our stay

Had dinner here with decidedly mixed results. For one thing, the selection of mains on the menu seemed very limited. My main (baked plaice) was not very tasty nor attractively served. But the dessert (an apple pie that was really a strudel) was delicious. Service was not good; one server contradicted another, a number of menu items proved unavailable, and there were options (like the apple pie) that were not on the menu. Ambiance was nice and homey, though.

I was looking for somewhere to have a catch up with my wife over a weekday lunch, and good reviews pointed me here.Understandably it was quiet, but given this I was expecting a bit more of a warm welcome and attention to customer service. Instead it was very transactional, I had to ask for a number of things that weren't offered and there were no checks that things were to our satisfaction.I had a bacon burger, my wife the pie of the day which were edible, but not particularly enjoyable. Quite large portions that may appeal to some.Overall for the money (£25 with drinks) I would not say it was good value and I would go somewhere else rather than return.

Visitamos el pub como parte de nuestro evento lunes dirigido club nocturno y dieron una calurosa bienvenida y un excelente servicio y un personal amable. Elegí pastel de pescado y probablemente fue la mejor que he comido en un pub: muchos peces, langostinos, huevo húmeda y crujiente puré cursi. Una generosa porción con verduras sabrosas verde en el lateral. Ojalá todos los pubs locales como la comida fabulosa. Gracias chef-propietario como restaurado mi fe en comer en pubs. . .

Four of us went for a Sunday roast and it was a lovely experience. Staff were really friendly and welcoming. Food was excellent and the presentation was great. Good price too.

La comida es de buena calidad, increíble relación calidad-precio. El servicio de la por el personal es inigualable. Vale la pena visitarlo sólo para el nivel de servicio. Las porciones de comida era de muy buen tamaño. Hay una gran selección de bebidas alcohólicas y no alcohólicas. La comida es de primera noch a precios imbatible. Bien merece una visita. La zona de estar en el restaurante es muy rústico y aporta un ambiente de pub inglés antiguo real a la experiencia.
