YC's Cafe in West Dorset

Service is always really slow to the point we left after 20 minutes without being served last time - The cafe wasn't even anywhere near full. Food has been fine when I've been before but not worth it for the bad service.

Great space, amazing food, very reasonable prices and great service . Dogs also allowed! Highly recommend!

Absolutely adorable little cafe with the sweetest service, great prices and really yummy food! Forgot to take a picture of my BLT but my partner had mushrooms, eggs and avocado on toast and we both loved every bite! Will definitely be back :)

Took ages to be served, an hour for soup and a roll.. The cafe was maybe 1/4 full and they were turning people away at 1 on a Saturday and got some of our groups order wrong... All round bad experience, hope it was a bad day

Friendly accommodating staff were good about my girlfriend's allergies and swapping ingredients round. The food was also good and tasty. Only gripe was the full breakfast coming with only one slice of toast which wasn't anywhere near enough to soak up all the breakfast goodies - surely 2 slices a minimum! Offering breakfast with a hot drink like some places do would have definitely got 5 stars. Would go again.

Wasn’t expecting this little caffe tucked away in an obscure corner to deliver such genuine soul-warming fare. (Google also referred to this as Yadbury Caffe..which was a bit confusing)

My son enjoyed the sausage roll, I enjoyed the full English, great coffee too

As far as I am aware, all the food served is freshly prepared and cooked on the premises. I especially love the veggie breakfast bap 😋 and flapjacks!

Ordered the all-day breakfast along with coffee and eggs Benedict for my partner. While waiting for the food to arrive, a lady came over and said there was no black pudding available. So I ordered an extra mushroom instead. When the breakfast arrived it was missing any sausage. I enquired and was told there were no sausage available. Beans were only lukewarm. For over £25 in total, this was poor. With so much competition available to choose from and the cost of living, I won't be back.

Friendly staff. Very accommodating with dietary needs. Service was relatively quick considering it was a busy lunchtime. Would recommend.

I thought Vivo was a good breakfast, this place is amazing and the food equally.

Couldn't rate more highly. We had a power cut at our holiday site so came here early with our 4yo and 7mo sons for hot food and coffee! Warm welcome, buggy and child friendly. Staff were very accommodating when I asked for a scrambled eggs and toast portion for our littlest one - we received perfect finger food buttered soldiers and creamy eggs, both boys polished it all off. Food was delicious - hot, fresh and fairly priced. Bathrooms clean too even with spare nappies in the baby change! Clearly a team that consider families and care about the little details. Really made a difference to our otherwise stressful day. Thank you!

Excellent cafe with friendly welcoming staff. Varied menu with well presented fresh food. So much better than the usual chain oulets. Decor is also interestingly different.

Went for a brunch after reading good reviews, very good service and pleasant staff but sadly breakfast bap disappointing, undercooked egg and overcooked bacon. Shame really as nice venue, maybe the cakes and afternoon tea are a better choice.

The pastries here were absolutely divine. The almond croissant was a favourite with my family. They also have a vegan selection which was a very pleasant suprise, worth visiting! :)

If I could I would give 0 stars. The food be it nice was ruined due to the fact I ask for a dairy free dish, as I have an allergy, and my meal contained dairy. Firstly when she bought my black americano over she bought milk and I said I don't take milk as I can't eat it which I had already said. She'd checked with the kitchen that the food was dairy free but when it arrived there was butter and so I asked is this dairy free butter, to which she answered yes. Within 10 minutes of eating it I felt like I was getting a reaction as I felt hot and needed the loo. I wasn't sure at first that it was dairy, but once I got up and left and walked to my car I realised it was definitely dairy. It has ruined my day, leaving me feeling very unwell. I will not be returning.

My wife and I enjoyed a delicious take out Valentine's dinner from YC's. Communication with the team was good and they were happy to be flexible in the menu choices. Pick up was a smoothly oiled machine. The meal package was really nicely balanced with generous portions, great tasting food and some proper instructions written for a non cooking man to clearly understand. I did anyway! 😂 Finally I thought the Valentine's meal take away was a good idea, provided a great service and was really good value for money. My wife was soooooo impressed with the surprise. I don't think I have expended all my 'credits' yet either.

Great service. Had a mocha and a cruffin. Both were delicious. Such a great cafe. Highly recommend.

Lovely place. Great food and drink. Little cramped inside though they've done their best to keep Covid safe- and have track and trace by the door. You can eat outside but that's weather dependent as it isn't under cover. During my visit lots of older people (customers) who weren't wearing masks properly.

Unbelievably friendly staff, incredibly good food, huge portions, and for a very reasonable price. We went in there for Mexican night on Wednesday and returned again for a 2nd helping on Saturday. The only complaint is that they have now ruined Fajitas for me as I will struggle to find any Mexican food that compares to theirs.

We popped in after a recommendation, and oh boy ! Definitely not disappointed ! Food - incredible!!! , fresh made , fresh ingredients, incredible taste , great portion sizes and incredible price ! Staff - so friendly and happy, they made us feel so welcome. We shall be back as much as possible! The whole thing just made us feel so happy !!

Friendly staff, coffee was good and the food was ok. Just 4 stars is as the out side tables are not for eating as they are to small and uncomfortable to serve food.

A Dorchester must. The hot chocolate is to die for (and for those teetering on the edge of diabetes, beware ... it's highly addictive) and the pastries are fresh & yum-scrum. Service a delight ... and prices affordable ... Love this place.

On Wednesday 11 March I had arranged to meet my very good friend in your lovely cafe, to treat her to lunch. However the A35 was shut and she was extremely late. When we eventually had lunch we were treated so kindly and sympathetically that I felt I should let know you how much this was valued. Lovely scrummy food and lovely staff. Thank you very much

We had breakfast here this morning. Great hosts, very clean and fresh food. Very reasonable prices. My husband is very particular about his fried eggs. This place is the first place we have ever been that uses real butter and they deliver the fried eggs exactly the way he likes it. I had the croissant, she warmed it up for me and still was fresh and crusty not like some places where they stick it in the microwave and becomes soggy. Will definitely recommend it and next time we are in Dorchester will definitely pop in.

Fantastic place to head to anytime of the day for a bite to eat. The service and quality of the food is always high. Just had a delicious turkey roll and mulled wine as an early Christmas treat. The brioche roll was full to bursting with all the trimmings. Great value too.

Great food and service to match. Thoroughly enjoyed our Mexican night. Couldn't choose between the 5 bean and beef chili so had both. Right choice. Nice cider and beer options as well. YC sets the benchmark for others to measure against.

We called in on Thursday for lunch..we sat at a table...we were ignored..my daughter went up to the counter to check that it definitely was waitress service..they said they would come to us to take our order. No-one came! A huge party of 16 came in and the waitress went straight to them to take their order!! We walked out!!

What a lovely afternoon - last minute afternoon tea and prosecco booking for a birthday tea the food was plentiful and delicious. The staff were attentive. Will definately return and highly recommended

Was there tonight for an evening meal. The atmosphere is great, the service splendid, and the food amazing. The icing on the cake was a young man playing jazz on his guitar... VERY talented and just the right level for an enjoyable evening. Will definitely go there again.

Went to YC's cafe for lunch today,Sunday 13th Jan 2019,it was delicious with really good sized portions,however as we had also had a big breakfast at home that morning, we asked the waitress if we could take home the half a baguette each that we couldn't manage and she kindly packed them into a box to take home. My husband had mentioned it was my birthday so imagine our delight when we opened the box later that evening to find a lovely little chocolate cake inside! A really nice touch and very much appreciated . Thankyou also to the waitress who served us,not sure of her name but think it was Laura,very very good customer service. We will return !.

Smart place with a good menu. Coffee shop by day and restaurant by night. Good selection of cakes and breakfast options. Seats are a little uncomfortable but that's the only minor improvement I could find.

Coffee stop on Saturday.. poor Americano.. it simply wasn't an Americano.. coloured water . Friend asked for a particular style of coffee a cortado.. young assistant said yes very positively and then came to ask what flavour.. obviously not talking about the same thing. Decided on expresso with hot milk.. coffee arrived eventually .. with no milk.. had a deadline to meet so not time to pursue. Customer service in need of improvement before I return I think. I have been there before and mentioned the state of the coffee then.. though did have a nice breakfast.. so definitely not a coffee stop for me or to take friends to!

A really nice place for a relaxed Sunday breakfast, great coffees, and a lovely team. Sadly the only thing was the sausages were the only letdown, pink sticks without texture or flavour.
