Yaya in Brentwood

I came in on Monday 21 October 2023, in the evening into your Hornchurch shop, I was served by a black girl with glasses and orangey shade hair, who I now know to be Sarah. I ordered a crepe with white chocolate and strawberries and a Halloween cookie dough. While ordering, Sarah asked me for the pricing, and appeared lost, to be honest I should have just walked out then. I told her I don’t know the pricing? So she charged me £17.80 for one crepe and a cookie dough. When I got back into my car I opened up the crepe to look at it as the box was tiny and not in a standard box that crepes normally come in, I was extremely shocked to see that my crepe was tiny, had ONE very small strawberry oddly cut up, a tiny drizzle of some sort of clear liquid that was definitely not white chocolate and it was in the smallest box, completely not whats advertised on social media. I went back into the shop and requested a refund as even a 5 year old could do a better crepe than that. Sarah told me I would be given a full refund via bank transfer. She wrote down my bank details in a note pad and told me it’ll be refunding straight away and that it would be a FULL refund. So it’s now a month later 21st November that I’m writing this, I’ve called both Hornchurch and Brentwood shops, been promised refunds, still to this day, I’ve not received this. I’ve had an employee call me from Hornchurch shop twice on one of the days to say Sarah has lost the bank details I gave her (shock), and that she needs to take them down again. The called later on, told she doesn’t know where she wrote down my details and if I could provide them again. Essentially, the shop is run by kids who are 16/17 years old, left UNSUPERVISED BY AN ADULT. Writing down people’s bank details in their note pads, no actual procedure. When you call up, they speak to you as though you’re one of their class mates. It makes me question the hygiene in this place, I’ll be in touch with licensing. It’s a month down the line, I’ve requested on multiple occasions for a manager to call me, this has not happened. I’ve requested a refund, despite being told it would be a full refund, this has not happened and I’ve been told it won’t be a full refund now because the inedible freezing cold cookie though that was thrown away in the car park behind the shop, wasn’t returned to them. I’ve also been told I was OVERCHARGED for everything as Sarah doesn’t know the pricing, despite it being on the wall next to her. Myself and my partner ended up going to Urban Chocolatier that night instead where we paid less than what we got charged here for 2 crepes, and drinks and had amazing service, so much more value for money! Would advise everyone to go else where, instead of being scammed by kids. Hopefully a manager actually calls me after this review, and maybe I’ll get a refund? Who knows.

Been using this company for a long time never had a problem before. But had a delivery today and when it arrived half the order was missing I rang YaYa and didn’t want to know told me to call Deliveroo and get a refund and then reorder young lady was very unhelpful won’t be going there again 👎👎

I went today during my lunch break and ordered 4 milkshake and a crepes. I’ve been told to wait between 15 and 20min, which it was too much for me, but I decided to give a try. Never again. NEVER. 45 min for a tasteless crepes and a melted milkshake (the other three came after 15 min mine one was done). I don’t know who hires these people, but please DONT. There was a queue of at least ten people and while one girl was looking around wondering where and what she was doing, the other one was speaking to the phone while opening the ingredients with her mouth for doing the missing one. Awful service, this one is gonna be the first and last time that this business will see my money again. Hire and train people that can actually work in hospitality rather than young girls that do it for fun.

Went in there on bank holiday 2nd may, there was a lovely girl working by herself while it was so busy. She done amazing job not sure of her name, she was still very friendly and respectful despite the pressure she was under. Definitely need more staff because it isn’t fair just her working on her own at the front. The shakes were really nice too.

Overpriced milkshakes served up by a couple of surly pubescent boys. Touching their phones then handling food. Customer service at its worst. Certainly no service it’s a smile here. Grubby dirty premises too.

I’ve never been to Yaya before and I will definitely not be returning. Strawberries substituted for suryp and waffles were inedible. When I called, they told me it was still strawberry and there’s nothing they can do. I was told that when I placed the order, the delivery driver turned up straight away so my order was not correctly done and there was no time to call to confirm the substitute. Disgusting, will never return!!!

I have ordered numerous times no issues, today I received half my order, and the excuse was well were to busy nothing I can do... to which I’d explained I would rather wait and get what I ordered... I also heard him tell the poor girl that answered my call to start with to just hang up on me we’re to busy... disgusting will never order again!

Beyond overrated. Terribly ran, no real system in place apart from crowds of people without masks walking in and out hanging around like there isn’t a pandemic going on right now and the staff don’t seem at all bothered by this. No waiting time listed when ordering online, expected to wait half an hour but received a call 1 hour 40 minutes later 🤣 I was long gone by then lol. There isn’t a milkshake in the world which is worth waiting around in Covid central for. Avoid. A typical example of Instagram vs reality - totally overhyped.

Worst place I have been to, makes you wait 30 minutes in the queue to be told they are not taking no more orders! While I was waiting many of staff members was around the shop but no a single one of them told us that they wasn’t talking any more orders! Worst place I have been to, might as well go shakeaway get better service!

I am really annoyed at the survive I received from the workers at Yaya Brentwood, I had waited in the que for over an hour for them to tell me they were not taking any more orders, during this time I had waited, a staff member was sitting around behind the counter looking at customers and didn’t even say nothing ! Service and communication is awful when it literally takes minutes to make a milkshake!

Take ages to make the most simples smoothie, not even worth the wait! Extremely rude staff, had nothing to say to us even thoUgh I waited 2 hours to find out they ran out of ingredients

Had to wait 45 minutes for a milkshake (despite there being no queue when we arrived), Towie lot arrive after we ordered and walked away with theirs straight away. Seems if you know the staff you get special treatment. Staff have zero customer service skills and are incredibly rude as many of the other reviews confirm. Honestly don’t waste your time or money.

Visited yaya today and honestly I’ve never felt the need to place a review as much as I do now, the place itself looked very unclean and it was packed with people, the staff told us it was a hour wait for two Oreo milkshakes so we waited outside only to see the staff singing and dancing not actually working... the girls was very unprofessional flirting with customers outside the shop not working and then let the men cut the “1 hour” long wait - the milkshake itself was okay, very watery... you’d think that somewhere with demand would keep standards high... not this place clearly.

Not happy at all! Disgusting service, called them up at 9pm to confirm they are still open until 10pm. Then get there at 9:20 for them to say they have too many orders. 40minutes of my time completely wasted.

So today I visited YAYA and well never a bloody gain!!! Firstly I had to queue a huge queue and may I add no social distancing!!!! Secondly sat in the car for over 30 minutes thirdly The state of the place was disgusting I couldn’t actually believe it and lastly when I finally went in to question where my shake was I got told by a tall long haired girl who’s hair wasn’t even tied up it’s been waiting for ages! This girl was so unbelievably rude and I would like to know where the manager is as the shop is out of control!!! Disgusting

I travel from Chelmsford to brentwood just to get one of these milkshakes, there the best milkshakes around! Whammy Chews were my fav in Chelmsford but now they've gone yayas is my go to! Not liking that they've changed the milkshake menu, they've took off alot of yummy milkshakes, but I still find one I want and as always its delicious!!!

Milkshake was really nice and the guy working there was super nice. Really fast service and good music too.

I visited Yaya Shakes in Brentwood, after being invited down on Instagram. Anyone who knows me will know how much I love a waffle, so this was a treat! I visited Yaya along with my Mum, we both enjoyed a waffle & a milkshake each (& yes, it was definitely too much!)Our waffles of choice were Cream Indulgence for myself & Choccy Woccy for Mum. Waffles are freshly made while you wait, so when they're served, they are lovely, warm & fresh. To say we enjoyed our waffles is an understatement - they were literally inhaled by us both! What I liked most is that the toppings are not limited, in the sense that you haven't only got, say the choice of only one type/brand of chocolate on your waffle, & I also like that not all of the waffles are heavily doused in chocolate/sauces, but there are alternatives that include fruit (f you're slightly healthier than I am!) Both waffles were incredibly full of flavour & chocolatey-ness, albeit a bit too heavy for my liking (this is nothing to do with Yaya however, just eyes bigger than my belly).Milkshakes! With the milkshakes, we did not choose but were given a couple of different flavours - & there certainly weren't any complaints! We were presented with an Oreo milkshake & a Lotus Biscoff & Twix milkshake. Mum really fancied Biscoff anyway so she had that, & I had the Oreo. Both milkshakes were thick & rich, & absolutely jam-packed full of sweet flavour. Neither of us ended up finishing our milkshakes, purely because waffles & milkshakes together is just far too sickly - although, we did give it our best shot.Both of us absolutely loved our sweet treats here & would definitely visit again. Thank you to Yaya Shakes for the invite & for allowing us to sample their delights, we look forward to popping by in the near future (& making our way through the menu!) We had been out all day so we thought we would try it . We got there looked at the menu then ordered. We had to wait around 15 minutes or twenty for all three at different times. Apart from that the milk shakes were nice

Like I said Sarah. You love this place and because it shut 30 min early you mark it as terrible??? Not good. I think like a lot of people,this is an awesome place to go especially with the kids.

Really love this place so much so, we thought we’d forget dessert after our Sunday dinner and come up to get a yummy milkshake. We then found you had closed 30 mins early. Not cool guys!

Probamos un sorbete batido esta semana - deliciosos sabores e ingredientes deliciosos, pero el servicio era tan increíblemente lento. Creo que esperamos más de 10 minutos para que mi bebida. Otra chica estaba esperando las edades un pedido ya que había sólo una persona sirviendo y pedidos de maki. También había contenedores en la tienda, así que tuve que dejar mi basura en el mostrador.

Me encanta este lugar, cada vez que estoy con mi hijo, nos vamos a este pequeño tesoro, siempre parque alrededor de la parte trasera y sí me deje mi hijo elija 2 batidos de su elección. Así que la última vez tuvimos Oreo Mint y una galleta lotus y eran geniales. Cuando ellos bebiendo no ponerlas abajo, cuidado con la cintura! ! ! ! ! Pero disfrutar de un día de calor

Caminamos después aquí en el camino a nuestra comida fuera una noche y formuló observaciones sobre el olor. Al ir hacia la próxima vez aparecimos y compartimos una banana split de gofres. La única crítica es que a veces las cosas pueden tomar unos minutos para preparar, pero aparte de esto, todo es perfecto. El personal es super amable y educado. Nuestros precios son muy razonables para hacer gofres con todo tipo de modificaciones y extras era £5. Y después de haber pasado mucho tiempo en los estados unidos, este es sin duda el mejor que he tenido de gofres. Tan fresco, cálido y sabroso. Y parece ser abierto hasta tarde como las dos veces que he visitado han sido después de las 9:00 pm. Sin duda volveremos para probar el batidos!

He estado aquí en varias ocasiones y el propietario y director son gente estupenda. Los batidos son las mejores que he probado. Siendo local a Brentwood no hay muchos sitios donde puedes ir a donde se puede conseguir la misma calidad batidos o smoothies. Prefiero Yaya o tartas helados de más de n batidos. Recomendaría este lugar a todo el mundo! Oreo bar, galletas y crema Hershey's y Nutella es un favorito personal.

I literally grab one whenever i get the chance. Get selection of shakes and icecreams.. defo a place to go if you have a sweet tooth

Having not gone since opening (4years ago), we can't stop going now. The staff are so friendly and the creations are endless.... From fizzy pop to candy floss to Bakewell tarts, they can all get blended.It's a little pricey at an average of £5 for a medium with two flavours....but worth every penny!Get yourselves down there with the kids, and see if they can complete the 'where's wally' pictures before the shakes are made!Also open really late, for a midweek treat!

This place has a whole selection of milkshake flavours and you can create your own or choose one of their awesome combinations of flavours. I went for the Coconoreo and it was beautiful. The staff were very friendly and the milkshakes are made freshly before you. A real treat on a warm day. I recommend it!

the milkshakes are nice but definatley on the pricey side, around £4.50 for just a small, a huge variety of smoothies and milkshakes with a huge variety of toppings too !!! Very quickly served and the milkshake is made very quickly too. The atmosphere isn't great the music is quite loud and it is quite empty

I work down Brentwood highstreet so come here a lot. I love it, so many choices! If im feeling greedy ill have my dairy milk milkshake or if Im in a healthy mood, I love the orange and banana smoothie. Amazing, please never ever leave my life!

I do love going here on the odd occasion but it is very pricey. Lots of variety in flavours and smoothies

well......there is a lot of choice so I never know what to choose!! what I have had though has been enjoyable however I do find it a little pricey considering.

I'm a regular customer and these are one of the best milkshakes I've ever had. Not only they use own ice cream and put in more of the ice cream than milk, but also make it with love. Zak (the owner) always looks enjoying his job! Top quality!

Had a Boost milkshake in there was very nice and service was good, and my friend had a oreo milkshake and he enjoyed it just as much definitely going to go there again, and would recommend it.

Hi i am TheBantaBusI went to YaYa with my mates in england. I got a milkshake, it rocked. The milkshake was one of the best in the world. You can choose to have anything you want in your milkshake, in my milkshake i had kitkat, gummy bears, reeces and a cadbury twirl i call it Beary enough Choc-a-lot! I highly recomend this place to teens who like to hang out with their mates.My overall rating would be a 10 out of 10

I come to yaya alot with friends and family because it is a great hang out and the shakes are perfect. Firstly I'd like to say that the staff are sooo friendly and chatty and you can have a really nice conversation with them. Secondly it is brilliant watching them make the shakes (chatting as the go) finally I think one of my favorite things about yaya is that you can have any yes anything in your shake whether it's skittles,wham bar or original chocolate bar. I highly recommended yaya!!!!!! I love it here!! By kitty age 11

I love Yayas- I am a big fan of shakes especially when the weather is nice. My favourite is the milky bar shake, nice and creamy. There is a lot of variety to choose from! Enjoy!

The best smoothies. & shakes, all fresh and made to order..The service is excellent, and a wide and varied choice of ingredients which the friendly staff can advise on.My personal favourite is a Acai berry, pineapple, cherry, passion fruit and multi vitamin booster smoothie. Awesome!Deliveries can also be made. Highly recommended.
