Fish' Chick'n in Brentwood

Matt and staff were super friendly. Food prepared and paid for in less than 15 mins. I was there at 4.30 to miss the Friday rush. Great fish and chips with mushy peas.

Went today Easter Monday. Naomi was serving & cooking as no one else turned up all called in sick. She deserves a bonus for doing everything. No longer than 5 minutes wait for food. Served hot & tasty. Always go in when in the area. Have been coming here for years. Never had a bad meal yet.

Over £5 for a "large" chips. In most chippies that would sort a family. This wont even be enough for 2 adults and 2 toddlers. Box even says "small" which tells you it would be a small anywhere else!!!

Been coming here for years, but just too expensive now. Large chips £4.50 and sure portion size smaller. Will come back if cannot find cheaper alternatives.

Thundersley branch! Shocking, ordered via Uber eats, wrong food delivered, missing items, freezing cold! No one answers the phone!! Useless! Never order from you again!!

The Phrase “CHEAP AS CHIPS” no longer applies after visiting this shop. I must say the shop was very clean and the staff were pleasant. However almost £4 for a regular portion of chips?! The portion was full of potato end bits which I suppose some people enjoy, but for £4 I’d like to have a proper portion of chips. The curry sauce was £3 for a small pot. After visiting a lot fish and chip shops in the area, I must say that this shop is about 25% more expensive then it’s rivals. For that reason I would rate this takeaway an 4.8/10 Very average and expensive.

Never again. High prices for tiny portions and the chips were dry and tasteless. Awful.

Large chips and curry sauce just shy of £8 that in itself but to get what would be classed as less that a small portion ridiculous and said the sauce was lumpy to be told it’s not then pour it out with several lumps in it even more annoying take the pricing tool below I would be paying between £10-£20 per person been saying that I won’t return even though it’s literally right on my doorstep I definitely will never return again disappointed don’t even cover it

Our order consisted of 7 items in total. You have try pretty hard to mess that up right? Well they missed 2 items off our order.. when we called them they told us to take it up with just eat.. so not only are they incapable, the customer service was non existent too. Perfect! We'll be happy to hand over our hard earned ££'s to them in future :)

This place has really gone downhill lately. Lg cod and chips, last night, was awful. The cod was stuck to the paper and broke up as I got it out of box, plus everything was soggy. Won’t go there again.

Chips were uncooked and the batter on the fish and on the sausage in batter hadn’t even seen the fryer, the worst fish and chips i have ever had, will never use that place again, threw the lot away, a waste of expensive money. Jesus…….1 year on from my last review and the food is still uncooked…….how the hell is this shop still open as they have no idea how to cook……….20.05.2023

Ordered a large cod and chips as regular wasn’t available. The supposedly large cod was tiny ! The meal cost over £14 , and wasn’t that nice either ! Rip off !

These portions have to be the stingiest I've ever experienced. Regular cod & chips looks like a child's portion from any of the neighbouring retailers. Two small portions cost 10p short of £20. Not worth the money.... go to Tommy Tuckers down the road. The fish was barely 12mm thick... I'm sure the cod I've caught have been a lot thicker than just 25mm!

Tried fishnchickn benfleet wont be going again tiny piece of fish , chips were warm and overpriced , on the upside staff were friendly and battered sausage very nice but will stick to Howard’s fish and grill

Over priced and under sized - shocking so called large chips at a higher price than others in the area. Thought I would try you but never again! Worst in Benfleet - Howards p*ss all over you! Step up your game!

Absolutely awful just picked up a steak and kidney pie and chips the chips are going in the bin disgusting for £10 dont bother its absolutely rubbish gave the pie to the dog it was dried out and burnt and the chips cold ...not nice at all

This place gave me food poisoning, I was very close to calling an ambulance, the stomach pains were that bad!

Went in waited 10 minutes in the queue to be served - no one served. Gave up and did online collection. But still was waiting too long for just chips. 30 minutes total waiting. Think I'll stick with one down south Benfleet

Hard cold shrivelled chips. Expensive and not edible. Will not be eating there again.

Ordered cod and chips for four people. Everything cooked fresh and it was hot and delicious really enjoyed it.

Sorry but fish and chips are not good, chips are always the little crispy ends and not fat chips, the batter is always soggy and the wait is ridiculous. Staff too busy chatting out back to notice customer in shop

Just ordered two portions of cod & chips. Identical order for my wife and myself. Got home and unwrapped the food... one was like a child size portion. Having a replacement delivered or to collect is no good because my wife's meal would have been both cold and soggy. It just shouldn't happen in the first place. So check your order before leaving the shop. I'll be expecting a refund.

Ok safe distance marking in place, unfortunately they got order wrong, after a long wait, a bit annoying, but to be fair they put that right, after another long wait. Not sure about the batter on the fish, not crispy enough.

Still tight on the chip portion sizes, a lot smaller than my local shop, we stop here because it's the only chip shop open on a Sunday otherwise we always go elsewhere

Opens at 16:00, but chicken not ready for another 15 minutes, ribs not ready for half n hour, very badly run.

Used to like eating from this fish and chip shop but now I wont use anymore the chips are mostly crisp it taste like all the food has been cooked in the same oil staff are pleasant enough just a pity about the food standards.

Bought a burger .very poor with some sort of lettuce that was brown round the edges and the tiniest bit of onion,chips seemed re fried so will not be going there again.

The last 3 times the medium cod has been so thin it looked like plaice. In addition, this last time it was very very dry. I Just thought we had been unlucky & didn't want to complain but believe me, if this happens again I'll be up there in a flash.

Had Medium fish n chips last night - good Friday. Well it was the best I’ve had for yonks. Fab crispy batter. Lovely fish. Nice staff. Thanks. I’d ventured to other places recently, just to try out the completion but in my opinion this is the best ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Normally great, normally. Asked for large cod and chips, usually I'd be asked if I wanted the chips large as well. Plus if I wanted salt and vinegar. Want offered any or any napkins. Not up to the usual standard.

Used to be a regular here but recently the portion sizes have gotten smaller and every time there is something missing. It’s like they use their lunch time left overs as food isn’t to the usual standard. Looks like I’ll be travelling out my way to find a decent chippy!

Decent fish, never soggy like I often find elsewhere

Chips are nice however quite a few times I've been in and ordered a large chips and it seems like I get a medium or in reality it's a small so quite disappointing for what you pay.

Very disappointed has the shop changed hands? Always been pleased with food however tonight stopped on spur of moment at 18.44. Served immediately by Elisha 1 saveloy & chips, 1 steak & kidney pie & chips £9.14. Seemed high but love their chips. 3 minute drive home another 3 mins onto plates - all the food warm/cold, even the pie not hot, & the chips were all small 'scrappy bits the 'bin' ate them. A few were larger in one portion. Sorry my custom lost.

Great fish and chip shop with really lovely friendly staff. The food is cooked to order and to perfection and even after the short drive home, it's still piping hot on arrival. They never serve those soggy or under cooked chips you get from some chip shops, these are just right. They also sell ribs, chicken, burgers etc all to the same high standard. There is limited parking to the front of the shop and a few more spaces about 20 metres away which can be an issue on a Friday evening when it's particularly busy. We certainly wouldn't buy chips etc from anywhere else now, this is the best, well done to all the staff and definitely gets our 5 star vote. Thanks for reading and please see my pictures 👍😁

Walk in to the shop, not appy. The floor was as greasy as my ex bird. Bless her sole. I bought a chickn meel with a side of taters. Chickn had bones n sawdust. I was hoping for some proteen not a DIY workshop. Not comin again, don't recomeend. Come on u irons.

Excellent local chippy - food cooked to perfection with excellent ingredients. Always slightly beguiled by the images of Iceland on the wall where the sustainable fish is sourced

Found this take away online, friendly customer service but the portions we received was not worth the money. I didn't understand why they would put it on a small little plastic tray/dish the wrap it, normally (other chip shops) it's would come in a box container or just wrapped in the paper. The boys was still hungry so we return for them to be closed 2 hours before their time.

This our local chippie and is a vast improvement on the fish and chip shop that was there previously. The fish is always fresh and the batter is always crisp (thick, soggy batter has always been a no-no for me). There is always a good selection of fish too, not just cod or plaice. All in all, a good fish and chip shop.

The service was slow and felt slightly inexperienced from the team. The fish was good, the chips were bland and pale and a little bit dry. It's fairly expensive for portion size, and after waiting for what felt an age, was it worth it? It was all very average.

Went last sunday had half a chicken and a free regular chips very tasty, YUMMY!!

First thing i dont feel welcome due to being bombarded by questions to have my address and phone number for a survey, Secondly everyone can hear inside so definatly not third party safe, Third Discussing tasting chips half were green me and my friend threw all our chips and the cod row was over cooked. The slushies are ridiculously small for a large. Complete joke should of just took a hint from the name. Never going there again and I advise others to save there money and their personal info from third partys who may be listning. waist of time and money...!!!

Fantastic chips, I've had chips, sausage, saveloy, battered sausage, ribs, chicken, pickled onions, cod, rock eel, haddock and onion rings! My partner says the pie and mushy peas are grrrrrreat!!!! Highly recommended.

Went here for my supper, there was a few customers standing round waiting to collect their food. A young lad was paying for his meal then I was next. Waited patiently for my order to be taken, but nothing happened. Then a man walked in, stood at the counter and got served straight away, the server packed his order for him and he left. Still no acknowledgement from any member of staff that I would be served, no one said anything like 'won't keep you, be with you in a minute' or such like, not even eye contact. Server carried on packing food, still never spoke or looked at me. Waited couple more minutes, then walked. Recently moved here, won't be visiting this place again! Appalling service by any standards.

I've had fish, chicken, ribs, sauages and chips. All are great. The half chicken with free chips is great value. Shop has recently had a refit so now looks different from the picture. Quality of the surroundings and the food has improved. Remember to get a loyalty card :-)
