What is usually a good meal this time it was absolutely awful I don't mind waiting for food and I told the receptionist this as long as it's hot and I relayed this message after phoning twice but when the food turned up it wasn't even Luke warm the driver explained they were a driver short which I understand but when I phoned the restaurant they tried to totally blame the poor driver when it was the restaurants fault for not putting there orders in order I've used this restaurant for a long time but I will not use them again and I suggest everyone goes elsewhere by the way I'm a 4 minute drive from the restaurant 😡😡

Just had food delivered from happy garden and I'm really disappointed. It's not fresh, meat stinks horrible. Never order again. Be carful you can get food poisoning

super yummy food. Ordered chicken in black bean sauce and was soo delicious and cooked perfectly and the special fried rice was so large was able to save loads for the next day

Half of the ordered items weren't right. The egg fried rice was just fried rice & no egg, the Quorn dish had tofu instead of Quorn, the chilli beef was good knows what beef something & the salt & chilli calamari again god knows what calamari something but definitely not what was ordered. Will not be using this take away again!

Really easy to order especially online great service from the guy up front gave me a free water while I waited.

I’m not usually disappointed with this take away but I recently had the duck and pancakes and the duck had seen better days and the cucumber and spring onions were old; it wasn’t cheap and couldn’t each most of it.

We were babysitting for our son so Ordered online with no idea how long it would be and after waiting nearly an hour we called them only to be told it would be at least another 45 mins…. we wanted it before they got back, no hope of that.Don’t bother ordering online as it seems they forget about you until you phone. Won’t be bothering again.

Crispy shredded beef in satay sauce was a new recommendation and was 10/10. Delivery was a bit long but was worth the wait

Placed order at 5.53pm today for delivery. Ordered early as last time was a bit of a delay. Advised estimated delivery 7.33. At 7.50pm called and advised will be another 30 minutes due to a backlog. No communication and terrible customer service. Food still not arrived yet. Shame as food is usually nice but service is absolutely awful. Won't be using again.

Delivery was 1hr was worth it. Their portions was very generous. Highlight of my meal was their duck fried rice with honey soya sauce

Takes over an hour to be delivered. Food is always cold and sometimes raw on arrival. Order is never right, there's always items missing. They charge delivery even though their website states its free over£15. This place has gone down hill and we won't be ordering again.

Been going to this Chinese for nearly 10 years now, been to 1918716 Chinese takeaways all round east London and the essex and this place is right up there with the best , kind friendly staff and portions always too big for my belly , looking forward to coming back 👍🏻

Their crispy Chinese pork is not far off china town and quite authentic. Even though it was super busy , it was worth the wait considering portion sizes was generous

Great Xmas eve meal. Ready for collection within 35 mins. Big order for many guests. All spot on. Loads of amendments made for fussy eaters. All made to request. Easily the best Chinese in Brentwood and probably all of Essex. Merry Christmas happy garden and next year we will only be using yourself for our oriental take away.

Order from here all the time ordered bang on 5 pm food turned up Cold few mouthfuls me n misses said we can’t even eat it phones the shop for the man to say ok thank you and hang up so £50 down the drain

Food took 3 and a half hours to arrive. Ordered at 18.10 and delivered at 21.40. 2 dishes were warm and the other 3 needed reheating

Normally always have Chinese from Happy Garden but the last couple of times food & service has been awful. Ordered this evening and told that the delivery would take 55mins to 1h arrived after 1h 40mins for the Chow Mein to be cold & Salty, chips soggy and undercooked same as the Salt and Pepper Prawns & Mixed House Balls also soggy. Phoned to request a refund/credit and was told that unless the order is returned packed as it was given then we would receive nothing! Certainly won’t be ordering again.

Ordered takeaway took hour and a half to come. CRISPY aromatic duck was disgusting. Came liked undercooked boiled minced duck. Worse I have ever had couldn’t eat it. Called them to say how bad it was and where was the crispy duck and was told “that’s how we do it”. Won’t be using them again.

It was amazing because I was greeted very well on a wet and moist day, alongside being kindly asked of ‘What would you like to order’ and this is where I ordered a bbq duck egg fried rice and it was very deliciously and isn’t very cheap compared to the ones near my local area. The atmosphere was quite and clear, with not too much noise but a arm atmosphere, I would go there again if I had to. I don’t live near this area but would recommend it to my friends.

We have been using Happy Garden based on a recommendation since we moved to Brentwood a year ago and we've always been pleased with the quality of the food. Sometimes the delivery service can be very slow especially on a weekend but they've always compensated us when this happens. Would advice collecting your order instead of waiting for a delivery as they get very busy on the weekends. Overall always a pleasant experience and my children especially like the food here so we always return.

Ordered online and no estimate how long delivery will be until you pay…..hit the button and it tells me 1 hour 45 mins. If I had known that I would NEVER have ordered it. The duck and pancakes are normally nice but I have no idea how they shredded the duck meat this week. It was like mush with no taste whatsoever, it was actually revolting. Very very disappointing experience. UPDATE: Emailed per their request and heard nothing back so not sure why they asked me to email. Just wasted my time.

Ordered food at 5pm, delivered at 7.15pm. This was bad enough then had missed items. Contacted Happy Garden who quickly sent a replacement but it was wrong item again! finally got the pancakes but this was too late. Most of the food itself though was great.

We have been looking for a good Chinese takeaway for a while and someone recommended the Happy Garden Delivery time for peak Friday evening was 50 minutes - Good. Presentation - Very good - we'll packaged. Taste & Texture - Very good for a takeaway. Portion Size: Huge - too much 😀 Arrived hot - great 👍 Egg Fried rice... had difficulty finding any egg and the rice was a grey colour ! Mixed starters - good quality, fresh tasting and plenty of it. Sweet & sour chicken - Very generous serving of meat, not cooked to death and hot, nice crisp vegetables. Had the rice been better it would have been a good 5/5 Next time we'll order a single rice as the portions were far too big for a person In all... tasty and good value. Will definitely try again.

Happy Garden has forgotten about customer experience. I ordered a collection expecting to pick up the order an hour later per the online confirmation message. After chasing multiple times the food was finally ready two hours after ordering. It never used to be like this - disorganised, unfriendly, stressful. Not the way I wanted to spend my Saturday evening.

Delivery was a little bit of a wait, but food was perfect and warm when it arrived.

Tried this place as they have a 5* food hygiene rating. Food quality/value/experience is very disappointing. £50 for 4 people, made to wait in the car for 25 minutes, got home to discover our main prawn dish is missing! A driver did deliver this towards the end of our meal; but pointless by then and also it tasted vile. Too much salt and grease, poor customer service and heavily processed food.

This is simply the best Chinese takeaway in Brentwood....the food is very nice....but the only thing I would say....you could wait some time especially a Saturday night for your food....but obviously this is for a reason...? Again they are very busy for a reason.

Our usual had closed so we found happy garden …. Wow i can understand why the other shut down (same road in location ) And it was NYE so service was expected to be slow but wasn’t! Ordering: Their independent software was easy, places for notes and allowed Apple Pay- absolute joy to use Delivery: in time, super hot and the delivery driver was friendly Food:wow, the aromatic chicken with black bean was amazing, it was all just delicious Chicken balls were next level, and I’m a pro! They have a customer for life 5 star all round.

Ordered at 5.40pm still waiting at 7.25pm no idea how much longer but absolutely ridiculous. Paying higher prices and delivery but service becoming shockingly bad. Just for reference have gone to this place for the last 12 years and never moaned before but fed up when your 4 year old is so hungry. Update food arrived 7.35pm burnt noodles!

This place ALWAYS forgets to deliver drinks. My last order they forgot chicken balls as well as 2 drinks. I tried to call for over 3 hours and a half hours after my food was delivered, they didn't bother to answer until 1 minute before closing time. I only got refunded £5.00 instead of £11.20. The refund didn't equal the 2 bottles of drink which is £ 5.60. No refund for the missing sweet + sour chicken balls. That's the last straw.

A work colleague suggested we ordered from here as she’s had it before and said it was nice. I saw the reviews which weren’t encouraging, didn’t say anything to her and waited for it to arrive. We had it delivered to work snd ate it together. It was delicious and hot. I really enjoyed the chicken satay, noodles and duck spring rolls and the special friend rice looked delicious. I will definitely order from here again. I previously ordered from a different Chinese in Brentwood with quite good reviews and didn’t enjoy it as much as from here. Thank goodness I found a good local Chinese for those dreaded night shifts lol.

Local Chinese Takeaway. Quick service and takeaway delivery. Reasonable prices and good quality Chinese. Would recommend if you are local to the area. Always friendly if ordering and quick to prepare. Park in the side roads if collection.

Kung Po Chicken was disgusting. Lemon Chicken was actually breast unlike Kung Po. Singapore noodle was nothing special. Neither was pancake roll. All very greasy and poorly presented.

terrible customer service they gave us completely the wrong food and they wouldnt do anything about it when we called to tell them in fact the woman on the phone was so rude and just said nothing I can do !!!! Absolutely disgusted with the diabolical service on NYE!!… Waited 3half hours!!! Of course we expected a delay… compared to normal nights. We have used this takeaway for many years. And started using the Ap to order which has been much better and quicker delivery... but… this was beyond a joke. I had paid for the order on the Ap so couldn’t cancel- they already had my money!! After several calls, we were told on the final one, 3 hours later - that the order was just going thru!!! Obviously we couldn’t cancel as by now we were starving!! The driver was really embarrassed to be delivering the food and said they were still taking orders!… I think it boils down to … greed!… take yr money… and don’t care, no loyalty to their regular customers either. We won’t be coming back… 😡

I ordered some food this evening and I really enjoyed it! Soup was lovely and the rest of the food like fried vegetable rise and smoked chilli chicken. Just yum yum 👌 FOLLOW UP A MONTH AFTER: I ordered tonight a month later for the second time and I was still impressed with their food!👌 Fast service ( I went to collect within 10mins from placing the order) and it was BEAUTIFUL! Freshly cooked, smelled and tasted DELICIOUS! I had Rise noodles mixed vegetable ( a pinch of salt would make it 20 out of 10 😁) Mussels in garlic and chilli sauce and Scallops in garlic and chilli sauce. Yet again I was really really happy with my food and keep in mind that I’m well traveled fussy foodie who’s hard to please 😁 Yum Yum 😋 Please keep it up 💪

I ordered a meal 30 minutes before closing. The food wasn't fresh and the spring rolls, prawn toast and chicken balls were rock hard and stale. Really disappointing.

The staff are rude. It's unclean. The food is cooked in days old grease\fat (you can taste it). Steer well clear. Use the Peking Garden in the high street and do yourself a favour.

I telephoned an order for collection at 6.55, was told that food would be ready by 7.30, 5 people came in after me ordered and collected their food and I was still waiting. Didn't get my food until 8. I felt they were being selective with who they cooked for. Won't be ordering from them again, I don't care how good the food is. Treat your customers with respect.

This place serves the best Chinese food in the whole of the Brentwood region, and that's why they are always so busy! But the food is always worth waiting for. The salt and chilli squid is THE BEST, along with the Special Fried Rice, Lemon Chicken, Sweet and Sour Prawns HK Style, Singapore or Duck Rice Noodles, Beef Ho Fun, Mini Spring Rolls, Prawn Toast, and Chicken and Sweetcorn soup. Have tried others out of curiosity and always come back to Happy Garden!

I am picky when it comes to food and after trying few other options in Brentwood, this is definitely my go to place for Chinese/Asian food. Apart from actual Chinese dishes they also have Japanese/Thai dishes and they definitely worth trying. Fair prices, fast delivery. Solid 5 stars from me.

A disgrace of a service I have been coming to these guys for a number of years !! Until I come across a finger or toe nail in my food I couldnt believe it utter most cheek to send out food in such a way i will not recommend to any body at all.

The Peking Chef just up the road in Brentwood high street from now on. Never had a bad meal there.

When I return to Scotland I love to grab a Haggis Supper from the takeaway, when my relatives visit me they head straight to Happy Garden they say it’s best Chinese ever. I nearly totally agree but then again I’m a bit more traveled.

Have ordered from here 3 times so far after it was recommended by a friend down at the Brick layers Arms (they don’t cook food Sunday evening) and it’s excellent there is a takeaway in Ongar but this far better, had family round Christmas Eve,6...

The food was dry, hard and cold. Basically inedible. Needless to say, in spite of hating waste, it ended in the bin.

We (three guys) popped in on the off chance of getting a table after a few pre-Christmas drinks. We were greeted warmly and accommodated. We opted for the “all you can eat” menu and ordered a bottle of wine. The food was exceptionally good with generous portions, a great selection and served swiftly. The wine was well priced and good too. Would recommend the Kung Po prawns and the salt and pepper ribs,in particular, but everything was actually really good. We will return.

Have had food from this venue on many occasions now and never had a single problem. For a Chinese take away, I’ve never known so many selections and varieties of food, honestly every time you can try something different. Very worth the money, not expensive...
