first time I have ordered this takeaway the food was absolutely tasty and a good size portion, and arrived on time , they didn't send the pancakes to go with the crispy duck, when I called them they sent them straight out, thank you would highly recommend this takeaway

Love this takeaway, a must on a Friday for the family! Fast service if you pick up (and you get a reduction in price for doing so! ) nothing is too mush trouble for them, just love the duck ;) x 10/10

Used this takeaway a few times never normally any problems. But it took three hours for my food to finally arrive after being told it was out for delivery two hours before. Then to be told that my food was waiting for a driver. Spoke to the manager who is also abysmal to say the least! Definitely would start to look for a new manager! 3 hours is bad enough but it was also the lie and dismissive approach to the customer that has been the worst I have ever experienced. Will never use again! Offers 20% discount which i think is not good enough for this experience.

Had takeaway Chinese from this takeaway several times each time I have a cold and not very good and when you go back and say something about it just look at you as though you’re silly it’s the last time last night waiting nearly half hour for a takeaway and I got home and most of it was cold.... too much effort to take it back... don’t waste your money it’s too hard to earn ☹️

We live a minute away so normally order and it’s ready in 10mins to pick up. Food is always amazing and hot and they never forget anything. Definitely recommend!

Takeaway - was initially chuffed they’d deliver to West Horndon (a lot of places don’t). They arrived about 15 mins early, so was chuffed again when the doorbell went - but then it went downhill. Delivery - the deliveryman charged us £2 because, “Delivery was over 5 miles”. We had already paid for delivery when we made the order online, they obviously knew our address at that point and there was no warning that we would have to pay more when it arrived! Soy sauce - we ordered for £1.50, to quote, “bottle of soy sauce”. This was actually just a polystyrene tub, which was spilling over when arrived. Crispy seaweed - think we could see granulated sugar all over it and it had an odd sweet taste to it. Crispy duck - quite a lot of fat/grissle. But tasted alright.

We have used Great Wall as our local Chinese takeaway for a number of years now; 9 times out of 10, the food is excellent. We thoroughly recommend the salt and chilli squid, Singapore rice noodles and their crispy shredded beef dishes. I adore hot & sour soup, and this is the only thing on the menu that is very touch and go; some days it’s fantastic, whereas others it can be too sour and almost inedible; I’m guessing there are two chefs that work a rota! Delivery times are more often than not correct, although be aware – if they’re not busy one evening, they’ll still tell you that your order will be around 30 minutes, and yet 10 minutes later they’re knocking on the door with your delivery! That’s never bothered us, however. Overall we enjoy our takeaways from Great Wall, and will continue to use them.

Get takeaway regularly from here and is always very nice .Food is very tasty without being too salty like some other Chinese takeaways .Delivery service good too.

Having just moved back to the area after a few years I've just made my first order from what used to be my regular takeaway restaurant. I have to say the food QUALITY is as good as ever however the quantity is shocking. I had a total of 3 pieces of chicken in my curry along with a long, thick black hair. I threw the curry away so can't comment on the quality. The special fried rice was delicious but there wasn't much of it. The chicken balls were stodgy and mostly batter. I can't say I'll be going back again after the rubbish order I've just received. On the plus side the delivery driver was lovely and it arrived bang on time.

We normally order from this Chinese every couple weeks or so. we order around 25 pounds worth of food and one dish was crispy shredded beef what wasn't a whole portion in my view and was tough as old boots so we rang up to complain to be told to they wouldn't be able to do anything unless we sent it back. We asked for a full portion to be sent out but we had to wait for new one to be delivered and also pay full price. The man on the phone was rude and did not want to do anything about our complaint. No customer service at all or trying to retain their loyal customers. Discusting. we offered to send pics of dish to show how much we got ),also they're only offer as a 10% discount on next order but if you want another portion sent out to us would have to pay for it. We will no longer order from them because your not allowed to question them shame lost a lot money over a year from us.

Used this Chinese takeaway nearly every week for the past 2/3 years, orders are normally correct and delivery personnel are very good. However the last few weeks service has gone down hill, I had my first complaint about crap shredded duck, over cooked and dry. The guy on the phone was very rude and wouldn't listen to my complaint and concerns, I won't be using this place ever again and won't recommend my friends to use it either.

Used to really love this Chinese!! Ordered food as normal tonight @6:30pm and waited just over an hour after being told at least 45min for the order to be wrong !!!! Called back and the male person was so rude to me and my mother when we tried to explain the order was wrong! Saying we didn't order it and saying we would have to pay extra for their mistake! First they said it would be here shortly then when asking to speak to the manager he hung up on me !!! I called back and the lady who originally took the order said she would sort it after admitting her mistake! Another hour later still waiting for the food we called again and the male person said we would get discount next time but we still wanted our food and would have to wait!!! Absolutely shocking customer service, have lost customers here!!!

I have just thrown away most of the Chinese meal we picked up this evening. The crispy duck was hard and overcooked. The crispy breads were soggy and the seaweed was wet and not crispy. The king po prawn was absolutely disgusting and the spare ribs were overcooked too. If anyone has left good reviews about this take away, I can only think they must have ordered from elsewhere. I have never left a bad review in my life but I am up here on my computer spending my evening doing this to prevent anyone else spending money and throwing food away. I would never leave a review without ringing the establishment first and I have phoned them tonight to say virtually everything was either overcooked, soggy or inediable.

Excellent. Best take away in our area. Always within the time slot given. Portions are brilliant size. Always hot upon delivery

The best takeaway service in the area, we've used it for several years and the food has always been excellent. Delivery is generally very prompt too.

Era mi primera visita sin embargo la comida era muy pobre. Pedimos 1/4 de pato sin embargo las verduras parecía que estaba pudriéndose ya que tenía cosas verdes. No recomendaría este chino

Correct order every time, we've had issues with other local takeaways that the person taking the order doesn't understand properly. However, Great Wall is different as the person taking the order very well understands and communicates easily and we've had correct order every time. Home delivery available, reasoonably priced, good food.
