Truly disappointed with the service. Servers weren’t the most attentive. But the worst part was that after dropping and splattering a tray of glass behind my pregnant wife and having to inconvenience us with the cleanup… all we got was an offer to move to a different table to finish our meal and a light verbal apology. It didn’t feel genuine and certainly felt under welcoming for the type of establishment they portray to be. The food itself was delicious. We had the infinite yum cha option. Venison Char Siu Pastry was scrumptious, juicy, and flavorful. Steamed dim sums were on point with quality ingredients. The curry was a brilliant with a good kick. A delicious experience where the only bad taste left was the disappointing service experience.

Went for the infinite yum-cha brunch. Nice modern looking location and good atmosphere. Food was amazing and some of the best dumplings I’ve ever tried. Service was not bad but could have been more attentive - they accidentally served my partner an alcoholic drink (she can’t drink) and gave me the non-alcoholic one. I checked to confirm when the drinks were dropped off and they stated my drink was the alcoholic one, however returned 5 mins later and stated mine was actually the alcohol free one.

Yauatcha City. A place where you can spend a small fortune on dim sum, and yet, a humble spoon is apparently too much to ask for. A spoon! Not Excalibur. Just a simple, rice scooping utensil. Now, don’t get me wrong, I am exceptional with chopsticks. I could pickpocket a flea, disarm a bomb, or perform a delicate eye surgery if required. I once caught a fly with chopsticks just to prove a point. But even I have my limits, and that limit is manually airlifting every individual grain of rice into my mouth. So, naturally, I asked for a spoon. Not an unreasonable request, I thought. But the waiter looked at me like I had just insulted his ancestors. The spoon never came. I waited. I stared longingly at my rice. I considered drinking it straight from the bowl like soup. At this point, I had 2 options. To continue my painstaking attempt at single grain rice relocation, or embrace my primal instincts and eat with my hands. FYI I chose chaos.

Went for the bottomless dim sum brunch - staff were exceptional, but as you’d expect bottomless dim sum won’t make you go wow, it’s very mediocre and the place is filled with a very artificial “influencer” vibe

This restaurant offers a nice spot for lunch, with a welcoming atmosphere and a diverse Asian cuisine options. The food is flavorful, with a great selection of vegan and vegetarian options. Average food. Service was so so too. They don’t leave wine at the table so always having to chase down a waiter/waitress to have glasses refilled. Plus, 2 bottles of wine a couple of beers and 4x the cheapest set menu, £500. Mental expensive for what it was when food no better than local Chinese.. Probably fine if youre on expenses as good location.

Yauatcha offers fantastic food with an elevated atmosphere that attempts to justify the steep prices. Food was fantastic, cocktails very aesthetically pleasing. But a note on the customer service: I was served by various different servers who would pop in and out, all with different levels of friendliness, some would stay for a chat and some wouldn't look at you twice.

I recently celebrated my birthday at Yauatcha City with a group of 18, and while there were some great moments, the overall experience didn’t quite live up to expectations, especially considering the prices. Ambience: The restaurant has a sleek, modern design, with a stylish yet relaxed atmosphere. It’s a great spot for a special occasion, with an upscale vibe. However, with such a large group, it felt a little cramped, and the noise level made it difficult to fully enjoy the setting. Smaller groups might have a better experience when it comes to the ambiance. Food: The food was enjoyable, but the portions were disappointingly small for the price. That said, the Singapore Noodles were absolutely fantastic—the standout dish of the night! I highly recommend them; the flavours were spot on. The beef dishes were also good, but again, they were quite small in portion size, and you’re left wanting more. If you go, don’t expect to feel full unless you're prepared to order a lot more (which quickly drives up the bill). Service: Service was a bit of a letdown. While the staff were polite, there were a few issues that marred the experience. They topped up our water glasses throughout the meal without mentioning that each bottle cost £6. This felt a bit sneaky, especially when you’re already paying a premium for the food. To add insult to injury, one of my friends brought a birthday cake, and we were told it would cost £5 per person for them to serve it. This would have actually cost more than the cake itself, which felt pretty ridiculous. Overall: I would consider returning to Yauatcha City, but with a few things in mind: don’t go in hungry, as the portions are small, and keep expectations realistic. The food is tasty (especially the Singapore Noodles!), but you’ll need to manage your appetite and budget. It’s a decent place for a special occasion, but don’t expect to leave feeling completely full or thrilled about some of the hidden charges.

I recently visited Yauatcha Broadgate and had mixed feelings about the experience. The food was undoubtedly delicious, and the ambiance was great, but the service left much to be desired. First, we were told the water was complimentary, but we were shocked to find 7 bottles of water added to the bill. The staff kept topping up our glasses without asking, which felt sneaky. Additionally, one of my friends had to wait over 25 minutes for her food, while others at our table, who ordered later, received theirs first. The staff also lacked attentiveness and friendliness, which made the service feel subpar. Another issue was the £5 per person charge to serve your own cake, which seems excessive. A corkage fee would make more sense. While I’d be willing to give Yauatcha another try, I hope management improves the service and clarifies policies like the water and cake charges.

We came for the Saturday only unlimited dimsum menu. The opening negroni was very good and was decently strong. I preferred the steamed dimsum to the fried/baked but the standouts were the purple dimsum with truffle and the baked venison puff. Main meals were decent sized and fairly good without being amazing. Rice was good portions too. Final pudding was very "meh" didn't do anything for me. The venue itself is nice with good views from the window seats but our table got a bit cold when the front door downstairs was open. They need a heater over the entrance door to help with this. I like Yauatcha City overall but will probably stick to SoHo branch as is easier for me to get to. Unlimited brunch offer was Good value if you eat a lot like me.

I had a disappointing experience at Yautcha City, and unfortunately, it was largely due to the poor service. The waiter we had seemed completely unprepared to provide a smooth dining experience. Firstly, there was a significant language barrier that made communication difficult. When I asked for a magnum-sized bottle of wine, he had no understanding of what I meant, which is frustrating for a restaurant of this caliber. The situation only worsened when the bill arrived. Our total came to a hefty £520, which included a 60 GBP service charge (13.5%). To my surprise, the waiter then asked for an additional tip to be added on top, despite the service charge already being included. When I questioned him about this, asking whether the service charge covered the tip, he told me that the service charge didn’t go to him at all, and only the extra tip would. This was incredibly unprofessional and felt like an attempt to manipulate the situation. This kind of service completely ruined what could have been an enjoyable evening, and I won’t be returning to Yautcha City. It’s a shame that such basic aspects of customer service were

Had high hope for this visit, expecting a Hakkasan type of experience and quality. On arrival we found ourselves in the main dining area which included a drunken screeching woman (it being Christmas and all of that) noise polluting the entire area, with management just letting her get on with it. Not a good start. We ordered a dim sum platter to start, they were either under or over cooked and generally tasteless, with low flavour profiles (unlike those that cost about the same price as hakkasan which are heavenly) only the accompanying sauces made them enjoyable. The mains weren’t great either, I had garlic prawns which lacked any subtly, my friend the spicy see bass half of which he left, the rice was awful too wet soggy , clumpy, undercooked mounds. It was very clear this kitchen didn’t care, lacked attention to detail, wasn’t skilled, was just churning out dishes.. For £140/head (for just dim sum, a main each, rice, vegetables and a glass of wine each) you have a right to a good experience. Ours was really poor. I wouldn’t either go back to this place or recommend it.

It’s a busy business lunch place - we went there for a festive business catchup. We ordered a few dishes (veggies & dimsum) and a sea bass curry to share. They got the wrong sea bass on order(their mistake as our guy actually compared the curry to the aubergine dish we ordered). They took it back and our curry did not come until we finished the rice, veggies and pretty much everything. It’s fine to get it wrong but no apology, no semblance of being affected by their dampening our Christmas lunch was frankly quite rude. And in the bill they had put the original sea bass in and taken it out calling it a festive discount 🤯 Anyways after explaining everything we got a half apology! Sigh. I used to like this restaurant

the waiters here were extremely rude and unprofessional. I had gone through a lot of effort to organise a big surprise birthday dinner for my girlfriend and invited all her friends so we were a big group. The plan was when we walk in all our friends will begin singing happy birthday to surprise her, but before we could even finish singing happy birthday to her, one of the waiters bumped into me with his arm from behind ruining the moment straight away with his tray of drinks. He had no decency or respect to wait a few seconds to let us have our moment. And another waiter who was serving us was swearing in French at the end of the night because the owner of the restaurant agreed to remove the £55 birthday cake charge which we bought ourselves to the restaurant. Disgusting staff even after we spent over £1200 on the bill that night. Never going here again

The only people who will enjoy their food here, are only those who don't know what dim sum is. Prices are extortion, portions are small. All jazzed up with "luxury" ingredients with poor execution. £40 for tiny platters, £15 per dim sum and £22 pounds for a few strands of noodles. The funniest thing are pots of tea that has not tea leaves. Perfect excuse to charge you full price for another pot when traditional you should be able to ask for an unlimited refill. A total cost of £250 that included a service charge of 13.5% Avoid the disappointment and head to China Town. You'll get much better food for half the price.

The cost is not worth the value. The pre-set menu for 2 people brings too much food that one couple cannot possibly finish, and that goes to waste, instead of providing a wider range of dishes in smaller portions. Or simply something cheaper for less food. The cocktails are unreasonably priced and the ambiance, though trying to be “quiet”, is loud, with added music that is also too loud. Service was great, some food items really interesting and well presented, but way too expensive in the end. Apple Maps shows it as a 2 out of 4 dollar signs - it should be 4 out of 4 dollar signs for price.

Desafortunadamente, me equivoqué.

This is the best dim sum place in London in terms of food quality and service. Price is probably a bit high but worth every penny according to my taste buds. The dim sums were super fresh, and presented beautifully, creatively and generously. The staff really took time to introduce and explain the food properly so you understand what you are eating which you don't see often even in London. I also tried their signature moon cakes before which are to die for. Highly recommended!

Living on past glory. Overpriced. Tacky. Food was fine, but no better than what I could get for £20 elsewhere.

Great service, very helpful staff, fast delivery of food. Great quality of food. I feel the price could've been 10-15% lower though overall - that would've been better value.

The starters and dim sum at Yauatcha is the best part of the meal - not really fussed on the mains. All of the staff are attentive and polite however Mo went above and beyond for us and it was really appreciated. Very knowledgeable on all the Tao Group restaurants and quick to deal with any requests - he also takes great pics!

Totally underwhelming food and service. Front of house staff felt quite confused, and most of the time appeared to congregate chatting rather than tending to diners. ¼ crispy duck was generous… however, wasn’t impressed with the remains of a bao bun in the bamboo basket lid the pancakes were served in. Egg fried rice was very dry, borderline stale… distinctly not Asian, and not at all impressed with the pride/arrogance I received when I challenged. Simply impossible to eat with chop sticks, unless you want to go grain by grain. Also surprised to see Hakkasan come up on my bill… should I expect the same standard if we dine there?

I have used yauacha in Soho several times and this was my first time visiting the city. The elegant Chinese food warmed my insides. After all, Asian food is satisfying. It's an elegant size and the price is reasonable, but I think it's reasonable considering the luxurious location. The kids loved the rice flour with the cutlets in it.

Mixed feelings about the restaurant I’ve been before but it’s completely gone down hill , no vibe not feeling of luxury. Rubbish service and overall just a rubbish experience paid £250 for a meal and it’s absolutely rubbish should have ate at my local Chinese

Disappointing and definitely not worth the money. Staff were awkward and not very friendly. Service was an ok pace however. I tried 3 different seafood dim sum and they all tasted very similar, pretty bland, nothing special and not better than dim sum I could get somewhere else for half the price. The only slightly interesting one was the seafood truffle one. The milk and cookies petit gateau was very good. But you can just buy the pastries separately. Don't recommend, not worth it for either the atmosphere or the food, and definitely not at that price.

Super food, excellent service, expensive. Some dishes are not what you would ordinarily find in the usual Chinese restaurants and some are sort of Asian fusion food...but good nonetheless. Superb cocktails - try the Szechuan Margarita!

Food was great, however a bit on the pricey side for what it is. The waiters kept trying to take our plates when we were still eating. As soon as we paid the bill they asked us to leave! I was with family I hadn't see for over 10 years and I really didn't enjoy being rushed out of the door by the staff. They only seems to care about filling more tables than providing a high quality service. Disappointing.

As ever the food was really good, the variety is always excellent and always good quality. Unfortunately however, whilst the food was good the overall ambience and experience was not. The server was friendly but as the restaurant got busier service soon slowed, food was slow to come out and service less attentive. we also saw that an event was on so it was quite loud and it wasn’t a nice relaxed atmosphere as I had previously experienced on other visits. We also had a minor issue where our server had got a bit of our order wrong so we were left waiting for an item we expected, given the speed of service slowed this meant we were waiting quite a bit a while.

Yauatcha City: A Dim Sum Experience That Falls Short Yauatcha City, owned by the Hakkasan Group, has established itself as a popular dim sum destination in London. However, on my recent visit, the experience left me feeling a little underwhelmed. Getting to Yauatcha City is easy via public transport. Numerous buses stop nearby, and the venue is a short walk from Liverpool Street Station. Be aware that there is no car parking available. Look for the distinctive blue door and take the elevator to the restaurant floor. They also boast a patisserie downstairs for those with a sweet tooth. The first thing you might notice upon entering is the limited table space. While the restaurant itself isn't tiny, the tables are quite close together, making it tricky to navigate with a large group and multiple dishes. The decor is also rather plain – not bad, but certainly not opulent. Thankfully, the service was a bright spot. The staff were friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu. However, the food itself fell short of expectations, especially considering the price point. There are definitely better Asian restaurants offering similar fare for a more reasonable cost in the area. Let's delve into the specifics: Wagyu Beef Puff: This is one of Yauatcha's signature dishes, but the Wagyu filling was rather skimpy. The pastry itself was decent, with a nice crunch, but the star of the show was noticeably absent. Spicy Soft Shell Crab: This dish lived up to its reputation as one of the menu's highlights. The crab was perfectly cooked with a satisfying spice level. Pan-fried Lamb with Red Pepper and Onion: This felt like a less exciting version of the lamb dishes offered at other restaurants. It wasn't bad, but it lacked any special spark. Salt and Pepper Lobster Tail, Mooli Cake: Disappointingly, the garlic flakes seemed to be the dominant flavor here, overshadowing the lobster itself. The batter lacked complexity, and the lobster meat portion wasn't particularly generous. Hand Pulled Noodles: These were a bright spot! The in-house made noodles were springy and delicious, especially when dressed with the provided chili oil and soy sauce. Overall, Yauatcha City is an average Asian restaurant. While the service is commendable and there are some decent dishes, the high price point paired with the underwhelming food leaves it feeling forgettable. There are better options out there for a truly memorable dim sum experience.

Last minute dinner with friends and really wanted to try Yauatcha as had long been recommended. It was a hot sunny evening and the place was busy. It has quite a lot of background noise which I liked as you could chat and not feel you were being listened to. More of a "buzz" I would say. The food is very good. Crispy duck is not the best I've had (Min Jiang is the go to for that) but is good (shredded rather than my preferred sliced!). We all enjoyed the food and the environment. The staff were friendly and we didn't feel rushed even though it was a busy evening.

Four years ago I had left a 4 star review, but revisited and I’m reducing my rating unfortunately. The food was not to the standard I expected, and the value had decreased drastically from my previous experience. My current feelings are that this is a rather pricey place for fair but uninspiring food. More thought goes into their packaging than the food. Lack lustre.

Visited the restaurant in November 2024. Offers halal food. Food was good. Service was really good. Loved the calm atmosphere which is exactly what you want on a dinner date. Lovely place to visit if you're craving good halal Chinese food.

Okay experience. Nice decor but over hyped in my opinion. The food wasn't that great but it also wasn't bad either, apart from the battered prawn starter.

Had a lovely family lunch here today. Staff were really lovely and attentive. They helped with baby seat and rexxomendations. The food was great, best Chinese I've had in a long time. Especially loved the salt and pepper pork chop. Excellent value for money, portions were good and the food was great quality. 💯 Reccomend and would return. Thank you.
