Overall a disappointing experience. The restaurant is known for its dim sum and those were indeed very good, but the other dishes we ordered were run of the mill, easily to be had at a far lower price at any half decent Soho Chinese restaurant.

Yauatcha offers fantastic food with an elevated atmosphere that attempts to justify the steep prices. Food was fantastic, cocktails very aesthetically pleasing. But a note on the customer service: I was served by various different servers who would pop in and out, all with different levels of friendliness, some would stay for a chat and some wouldn't look at you twice.

I recently celebrated my birthday at Yauatcha City with a group of 18, and while there were some great moments, the overall experience didn’t quite live up to expectations, especially considering the prices. Ambience: The restaurant has a sleek, modern design, with a stylish yet relaxed atmosphere. It’s a great spot for a special occasion, with an upscale vibe. However, with such a large group, it felt a little cramped, and the noise level made it difficult to fully enjoy the setting. Smaller groups might have a better experience when it comes to the ambiance. Food: The food was enjoyable, but the portions were disappointingly small for the price. That said, the Singapore Noodles were absolutely fantastic—the standout dish of the night! I highly recommend them; the flavours were spot on. The beef dishes were also good, but again, they were quite small in portion size, and you’re left wanting more. If you go, don’t expect to feel full unless you're prepared to order a lot more (which quickly drives up the bill). Service: Service was a bit of a letdown. While the staff were polite, there were a few issues that marred the experience. They topped up our water glasses throughout the meal without mentioning that each bottle cost £6. This felt a bit sneaky, especially when you’re already paying a premium for the food. To add insult to injury, one of my friends brought a birthday cake, and we were told it would cost £5 per person for them to serve it. This would have actually cost more than the cake itself, which felt pretty ridiculous. Overall: I would consider returning to Yauatcha City, but with a few things in mind: don’t go in hungry, as the portions are small, and keep expectations realistic. The food is tasty (especially the Singapore Noodles!), but you’ll need to manage your appetite and budget. It’s a decent place for a special occasion, but don’t expect to leave feeling completely full or thrilled about some of the hidden charges.

I recently visited Yauatcha Broadgate and had mixed feelings about the experience. The food was undoubtedly delicious, and the ambiance was great, but the service left much to be desired. First, we were told the water was complimentary, but we were shocked to find 7 bottles of water added to the bill. The staff kept topping up our glasses without asking, which felt sneaky. Additionally, one of my friends had to wait over 25 minutes for her food, while others at our table, who ordered later, received theirs first. The staff also lacked attentiveness and friendliness, which made the service feel subpar. Another issue was the £5 per person charge to serve your own cake, which seems excessive. A corkage fee would make more sense. While I’d be willing to give Yauatcha another try, I hope management improves the service and clarifies policies like the water and cake charges.

We came for the Saturday only unlimited dimsum menu. The opening negroni was very good and was decently strong. I preferred the steamed dimsum to the fried/baked but the standouts were the purple dimsum with truffle and the baked venison puff. Main meals were decent sized and fairly good without being amazing. Rice was good portions too. Final pudding was very "meh" didn't do anything for me. The venue itself is nice with good views from the window seats but our table got a bit cold when the front door downstairs was open. They need a heater over the entrance door to help with this. I like Yauatcha City overall but will probably stick to SoHo branch as is easier for me to get to. Unlimited brunch offer was Good value if you eat a lot like me.

I had a disappointing experience at Yautcha City, and unfortunately, it was largely due to the poor service. The waiter we had seemed completely unprepared to provide a smooth dining experience. Firstly, there was a significant language barrier that made communication difficult. When I asked for a magnum-sized bottle of wine, he had no understanding of what I meant, which is frustrating for a restaurant of this caliber. The situation only worsened when the bill arrived. Our total came to a hefty £520, which included a 60 GBP service charge (13.5%). To my surprise, the waiter then asked for an additional tip to be added on top, despite the service charge already being included. When I questioned him about this, asking whether the service charge covered the tip, he told me that the service charge didn’t go to him at all, and only the extra tip would. This was incredibly unprofessional and felt like an attempt to manipulate the situation. This kind of service completely ruined what could have been an enjoyable evening, and I won’t be returning to Yautcha City. It’s a shame that such basic aspects of customer service were

Very disappointing Peking duck - the restaurant menu indicated "full duck" with a price tag of 110 pounds... we were expecting a full duck, but the dish arrived, it was only 12 canapes of duck skin. Very, very disappointing and still famished, we ordered an additional fish. Same ! just a little dish of 8 bites of fish! The rest of the dishes were rather small size and not generous. Atmosphere-wise, It looks like a restaurant for corporate lunches.

Had high hope for this visit, expecting a Hakkasan type of experience and quality. On arrival we found ourselves in the main dining area which included a drunken screeching woman (it being Christmas and all of that) noise polluting the entire area, with management just letting her get on with it. Not a good start. We ordered a dim sum platter to start, they were either under or over cooked and generally tasteless, with low flavour profiles (unlike those that cost about the same price as hakkasan which are heavenly) only the accompanying sauces made them enjoyable. The mains weren’t great either, I had garlic prawns which lacked any subtly, my friend the spicy see bass half of which he left, the rice was awful too wet soggy , clumpy, undercooked mounds. It was very clear this kitchen didn’t care, lacked attention to detail, wasn’t skilled, was just churning out dishes.. For £140/head (for just dim sum, a main each, rice, vegetables and a glass of wine each) you have a right to a good experience. Ours was really poor. I wouldn’t either go back to this place or recommend it.

It’s a busy business lunch place - we went there for a festive business catchup. We ordered a few dishes (veggies & dimsum) and a sea bass curry to share. They got the wrong sea bass on order(their mistake as our guy actually compared the curry to the aubergine dish we ordered). They took it back and our curry did not come until we finished the rice, veggies and pretty much everything. It’s fine to get it wrong but no apology, no semblance of being affected by their dampening our Christmas lunch was frankly quite rude. And in the bill they had put the original sea bass in and taken it out calling it a festive discount 🤯 Anyways after explaining everything we got a half apology! Sigh. I used to like this restaurant

the waiters here were extremely rude and unprofessional. I had gone through a lot of effort to organise a big surprise birthday dinner for my girlfriend and invited all her friends so we were a big group. The plan was when we walk in all our friends will begin singing happy birthday to surprise her, but before we could even finish singing happy birthday to her, one of the waiters bumped into me with his arm from behind ruining the moment straight away with his tray of drinks. He had no decency or respect to wait a few seconds to let us have our moment. And another waiter who was serving us was swearing in French at the end of the night because the owner of the restaurant agreed to remove the £55 birthday cake charge which we bought ourselves to the restaurant. Disgusting staff even after we spent over £1200 on the bill that night. Never going here again

The only people who will enjoy their food here, are only those who don't know what dim sum is. Prices are extortion, portions are small. All jazzed up with "luxury" ingredients with poor execution. £40 for tiny platters, £15 per dim sum and £22 pounds for a few strands of noodles. The funniest thing are pots of tea that has not tea leaves. Perfect excuse to charge you full price for another pot when traditional you should be able to ask for an unlimited refill. A total cost of £250 that included a service charge of 13.5% Avoid the disappointment and head to China Town. You'll get much better food for half the price.

The cost is not worth the value. The pre-set menu for 2 people brings too much food that one couple cannot possibly finish, and that goes to waste, instead of providing a wider range of dishes in smaller portions. Or simply something cheaper for less food. The cocktails are unreasonably priced and the ambiance, though trying to be “quiet”, is loud, with added music that is also too loud. Service was great, some food items really interesting and well presented, but way too expensive in the end. Apple Maps shows it as a 2 out of 4 dollar signs - it should be 4 out of 4 dollar signs for price.

Desafortunadamente, me equivoqué.

As ever the food was really good, the variety is always excellent and always good quality. Unfortunately however, whilst the food was good the overall ambience and experience was not. The server was friendly but as the restaurant got busier service soon slowed, food was slow to come out and service less attentive. we also saw that an event was on so it was quite loud and it wasn’t a nice relaxed atmosphere as I had previously experienced on other visits. We also had a minor issue where our server had got a bit of our order wrong so we were left waiting for an item we expected, given the speed of service slowed this meant we were waiting quite a bit a while.

Very nice place, a bit on the expensive side but it’s worth it. I recommend getting a bunch of plates and sharing.

Yauatcha City: A Dim Sum Experience That Falls Short Yauatcha City, owned by the Hakkasan Group, has established itself as a popular dim sum destination in London. However, on my recent visit, the experience left me feeling a little underwhelmed. Getting to Yauatcha City is easy via public transport. Numerous buses stop nearby, and the venue is a short walk from Liverpool Street Station. Be aware that there is no car parking available. Look for the distinctive blue door and take the elevator to the restaurant floor. They also boast a patisserie downstairs for those with a sweet tooth. The first thing you might notice upon entering is the limited table space. While the restaurant itself isn't tiny, the tables are quite close together, making it tricky to navigate with a large group and multiple dishes. The decor is also rather plain – not bad, but certainly not opulent. Thankfully, the service was a bright spot. The staff were friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu. However, the food itself fell short of expectations, especially considering the price point. There are definitely better Asian restaurants offering similar fare for a more reasonable cost in the area. Let's delve into the specifics: Wagyu Beef Puff: This is one of Yauatcha's signature dishes, but the Wagyu filling was rather skimpy. The pastry itself was decent, with a nice crunch, but the star of the show was noticeably absent. Spicy Soft Shell Crab: This dish lived up to its reputation as one of the menu's highlights. The crab was perfectly cooked with a satisfying spice level. Pan-fried Lamb with Red Pepper and Onion: This felt like a less exciting version of the lamb dishes offered at other restaurants. It wasn't bad, but it lacked any special spark. Salt and Pepper Lobster Tail, Mooli Cake: Disappointingly, the garlic flakes seemed to be the dominant flavor here, overshadowing the lobster itself. The batter lacked complexity, and the lobster meat portion wasn't particularly generous. Hand Pulled Noodles: These were a bright spot! The in-house made noodles were springy and delicious, especially when dressed with the provided chili oil and soy sauce. Overall, Yauatcha City is an average Asian restaurant. While the service is commendable and there are some decent dishes, the high price point paired with the underwhelming food leaves it feeling forgettable. There are better options out there for a truly memorable dim sum experience.

Ristorante ben curato con una varietà di cibo asiatico di altissima qualità. Ogni volta che capito a Londra è una delle tappe fisse. Veramente una esplosione di sapori nel cuore di Soho.

The place has a great atmosphere, food is plenty and amazing, we had the harmony set menu which in between the two of us was more then enough and we got to taste some of the best dishes. Our waiter Kevin was very knowledgeable and professional. I would really recommend trying out this experience.

Last minute dinner with friends and really wanted to try Yauatcha as had long been recommended. It was a hot sunny evening and the place was busy. It has quite a lot of background noise which I liked as you could chat and not feel you were being listened to. More of a "buzz" I would say. The food is very good. Crispy duck is not the best I've had (Min Jiang is the go to for that) but is good (shredded rather than my preferred sliced!). We all enjoyed the food and the environment. The staff were friendly and we didn't feel rushed even though it was a busy evening.

Four years ago I had left a 4 star review, but revisited and I’m reducing my rating unfortunately. The food was not to the standard I expected, and the value had decreased drastically from my previous experience. My current feelings are that this is a rather pricey place for fair but uninspiring food. More thought goes into their packaging than the food. Lack lustre.

First time visit to this location and what a great surprise . We visited as a couple in the early evening and thoroughly enjoyed this very flavoursome restaurant . We had starters of Prawn toast , duck crispy rolls and chicken and prawn wantons , all were delicious with a particularly favourable nudge to the fabulous wantons. Mains were prawn and scallop noodles and another chicken dish which were both delicious . We will definitely be returning , it’s not a budget venue, but the food is very tasty and represents excellent value for the superb flavours . Nice service and excellent food , see you again soon!!

Kitchen was too busy with orders and we ended up waiting over an hour for food. Did not deliver all food together - chaotic experience. Manager tried to push the blame to us by saying we should have known this was an Asian experience and that food arrives as an when it's ready. We overheard another manager tell the waiters to not take anymore orders. Food eventually came 2 hours after we entered the building. We got up and left.

I booked this restaurant as an anniversary dinner and I would not recommend. The restaurant was too busy and too loud. After we ordered the food took over 1.5 hours to arrive. We ended up leaving before the food came so if I could I would rate this restaurant a zero.

Had a business lunch today, service was terrible. Was there over 2 hours!! Waited about 25 minutes between one course and had to tell one of the staff we’d finished and could’ve move on. Never topped up our sauces the whole time. Really terrible £300 for 2 people and you’d get better service in Nando’s. I won’t be rushing back,

Had a business lunch today. Service was shockingly bad. Was in there over 2 hours. No specific waiter, seemed unorganised and a complete shambles. Waiters walking past our table when it was obvious we had finished a course. Waited about 30 minutes between one course and in the end I had to tell them. Was really looking forward to it and majorly disappointed. I won’t be back, loads of better places in city where you get proper service.

Was first time having lunch here . Food and service was excellent . We had the taste of Yauatcha menu for restaurant month . Overall this was a nice menu and starters and mains were generous . However was a bit bemused by dessert , this consisted of two beautiful but small round deserts that we were given to share with large desert spoons . Would prefer to have own dessert with a smaller spoon . This wasn’t mentioned on the menu .staff were friendly and attentive . Overall ambience was okay but what marred the experience was how grubby and tatty the ( not so) white leather seating was . Maybe about time to get them reupholstered.

Food : excellent as always. Service : okay, but not excellent like previous visits. Staff seemed distracted. For example, waiter left behind a used glass and bottle when clearing our table before dessert, and didn't think to remove it when he returned to the table on 2 following occasions. In the end we had to pass it to him and ask to take it away. Yes it's a small point, but would expect better from this venue. However it won't put me off returning.

Disappointment Dining Experience. I dined at A. Wong London, hoping to give my mother, visiting from Malaysia, a special Michelin-starred experience. Unfortunately, the evening fell far short of our expectations. The restaurant’s ambiance was decent — not particularly luxurious but comfortable. We ordered the six-course tasting menu priced at £220 per person, with an additional £125 for wine pairing. Given the high price point, we expected exceptional service and a memorable dining experience. The evening started well. Our assigned server introduced himself as the main person taking care of us and was polite and attentive at first. The first two courses were served promptly, and we were excited to continue. However, after the second course, the service took a disappointing turn. We waited about 15 minutes for the third course, which was still tolerable, but the delays after that became unbearable. We ended up waiting 30-45 minutes between each subsequent course. At one point, we asked if our plates could be cleared and the next course served sooner, as we were eager to finish dining. However, the server explained that the kitchen was very busy and asked us to continue waiting. The entire meal, which was supposed to last around three hours, dragged on for four and a half hours. The long waiting times left us feeling frustrated and drained to the point where we just wanted to leave. No staff member checked in on us during the extended wait, and the dining area felt warm, adding to our discomfort. While the food itself was decent, it didn’t meet the high expectations we had for a Michelin-starred restaurant, especially considering the premium price. One small positive note: when my mother experienced a nosebleed, a staff member from the bar kindly came over to offer help, which we appreciated. Overall, while A. Wong has a strong reputation, our experience was far from ideal due to the long delays and lack of attentiveness. We hope the restaurant can improve its service management to ensure guests receive the full Michelin-starred experience they promise.

One of the best Chinese restaurants I have been to. I have tried Chinese food all over the world: Africa, Middle East, Europe, and London. Great service, great food and great family atmosphere. People start comparing and saying I have better/worse etc. well of course it's their right to do so. I have been here more than once and the food is consistently very very good with good filling portions (Be careful not to over order) even cooking us something not on the menu . How many times have they cooked something and it turned out the exact same. This all depends on seasonal ingredients' availability etc. My only regret is that for a Halal Chinese restaurant, I did not discover this sooner. Thank you. I will keep visiting you again.

We had our work Christmas dinner at No6 Hamilton Place the week before last, and the experience was amazing from start to finish. There were 18 of us, and we had a beautifully set private room. The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating. One of our team members was running quite late, but after discussing with the catering team, they managed to space out the courses so that the main course arrived just as the final team member did, which kept everyone happy. We chose the European Set Menu 1 for our dinner, and they catered to all dietary requirements, including vegetarian and gluten-free options. They checked with those who had dietary needs before serving, ensuring everything went smoothly. The food went down a treat and I received only positive feedback from the team. I couldn't recommend the venue more highly. Thank you all!
