Had a lovely time. Food was great and the service was brilliant. Everyone was smiling and happy which made our visit more enjoyable and relaxed. Will definitely be returning soon.

We went to solihul Yates last week family and friends Scott and Allie welcomed us on arrival food was delivered quickly hot and tasty sampled a few cocktails staff were great on visit pub was lovely and clean we will defiantly be returning

Came into Solihull on the bus so stopped here for a pot of tea. The staff were friendly and helpful. The table and menu were sticky, a few people in not to busy

During my visit with friends i was asked to leave because i was wearing my Birkenstock sandals (flip flops) by 2100. I left with no hassle however i noticed female customers with flip flops, sandals and high hells. I wasn't the only lad to be ask to leave because of footwear. Later on after finding another establishment to socialise with friend, i was walking pass Yates i noticed multiple females wearing flip flops in the smoking area walking into the bar however i and other lads wasn't aloud in with (sandals or flip flops). I just felt very discriminated against just because we was male and not female. we wasn’t allowed to stay in the establishment however females could. Double standards at it finest. The security agreed with my observations however they was bound by the establishments policy i guess.

Jam was a great bouncer and showed a lot of respect towards us and made the night as good as possible. He made sure he didn’t abuse his power and made sure everybody was happy.

My last visit to Yates was really good !! Such a good atmosphere. Gets better and better every time I come here🙂 Staff was amazing , everything was tidy to the bar/floor to the toilets.. Highly recommend!

My family attended Yates on Saturday 29th May. We advised our waitress Hayley P that my grandson had allergies and she sprung into action and immediately advised the chef whilst we were choosing our food. She returned to our table to ask further details and was absolutely brilliant. She put our minds at ease about choosing our grandsons meal. She asked exactly what the allergies were and double checked our order with the chef. She even double washed all the cutlery and thoroughly sanitised all the table down again. We were really impressed with Hayley.

Me and my friend had a lovely visit to Yates. We were attended to throughout the night. Drinks came quickly and we didn’t have to wait. The atmosphere were really good and we had a good time. Callum was really attentive and helpful for me and my friend.

I dont usually bother with reviews but we were both very anxious about going out on our visit to the Midlands. It was all brilliantly organised and safe so we could relax and really enjoy ourselves finally. Impressed, might give other Yates a try when we get back home.

Come in here today for food and drink, great service and wait for food wasn’t long whatsoever. Friendly staff and eager to help out with our needs. Courtney was our server and she did a brilliant job, will be coming back!

Visited on 23rd October and were greeted promptly at the door by the manager, I believe. Premises were clean and clearly adhering to all covid regulations. We were served by Justine who was friendly and helpful, made sure she checked back on us regularly. Was pleasantly surprised by the quality and value of the food as we only stopped for a few pub snacks.

Visited on monday for a drink with a pal, a guy named liam served us and was a great host, with fast service and a good laugh, couldn’t think of a better place to go for a drink

Been here a few times for food & drinks. Food is always lovely, it’s nice to see the full menu is finally back! Staff are always polite - nothing is ever too much trouble. There’s always a warm welcoming, and COVID guidelines are clearly being followed properly.

Went there on a Saturday lunchtime (so quite busy) and Courtney Smith who was our waitress was exceptional. I had a lunchtime special sandwich which was really nice and so did one other in our party. Table position was fabulous and I just can't say enough about the standard of service that we got for our meals, desserts and drinks. Felt very clean and we weren't rushed out either, even though it was busy.

on sat 10th I went with a group of friends We was seated very quickly and served fast also the lady bouncer is a credit to ur establishment she is very professional,Polite and friendly I don’t think she has enough praise for running the venue on her own when all the other pubs have 2 or more door staff so well done and Keep up the good work will definitely b back!!!

Called in there for lunch Saturday 10th October. As I am partly disabled, entered in a wheelchair. Immediately spoken to by a really nice young waitness, Courteney, who helped me get up 3 steps, and to a table I saw and particularly liked (which had a reserved sign on it, which I could not see). Asked Courteney if we could have that table, and she immediately removed the reserved sign and put it on another table. She was friendly and helpfulness itself, and when our guests arrived, her attitude to us was fabulous, and she was an amazing waitress. We all enjoyed a lovely lunch, as not only was our waitress excellent, but the food was superb, although 2 of us (including me) only had very small meals. I live 200 miles away, and do so wish we had this establishment in our locality. Could not speak highly enough of the food and staff, do please keep Courteney on, she really is a little treasure.

Come in sat down and immediately your staff member Courtney was ready and waiting to take our order, considering we had come from a different pub and waited over half hour to be served. Came in Friday dinner to be greeted by two familiar faces ,Liv and Jadey ...was seated rapid and drinks and food order took quickly too!! Liv pours a great pint!! Had our food which was a mixture given we had a child’s meal too ,cooked by the two chefs( Steve and a long haired chap) in the kitchen !! It was perfect !! Will be back next Friday !!

Came here a few days ago! First time visiting a pub since the new guidelines came in and I have to say the whole experience was amazing from start to finish! The staff are all wonderful and very knowledgeable with the new regulations! Will definitely be back!

Since new guidelines have come in, staff have followed them so well, very accommodating to all people and friendly relaxed atmosphere! Hunters chips are delicious and excited now because the full menu is back so will be in soon for the gorgeous steak

Had a great time watching the sport, eating the food and trying all the different drinks. All served by wonder staff especially the manager, who was friendly, funny and knowledgeable about the drinks, the food and the sport. Will definitely be back soon.

Came in for lunch on Saturday morning and was greeted by a lovely young lady who explained all the new regulations to us. Was very relaxed atmosphere but it felt safe and clean!! Couldn’t fault the place, they are obviously dealing with things very well.

I came in a few days ago with 2 of my work friends, and a girl called Courtney who was very efficient and I saw numerous of times that she used hand sanitiser before she delivered our drinks and made sure we was all okay and see if we needed anything came to us when our drinks was nearly finished to see if we wanted more and sorted condiments and cutlery for our food she was polite and also very friendly and funny. It was reassuring that we was safe in the venue due to seeing her cleaning tables and the chairs around, touch points such as banisters and wore a mask at all times. Will be visiting again Thanks John

Staff are absolutely amazing! Requested a seat best to watch the game. They were easily able to accommodate me and my mates. Asked for a recommendation of a nice gin and the staff really know their stuff. Their choice was perfect. Amazing service, amazing atmosphere. Will definitely be back!

..visited Yates the other day and was a different experience with the new rules in place but it was brilliant Drinks and food to the table, didn’t even have to call anyone they were already on it! Cleared the table! Fresh drinks! Lovely service, the girl Paige? I think was polite funny and even made our night to be honest It was nice to see all the staff sticking to the rules and one way system and making sure we were in the politest way possible after a few drinks Already planned next weekend ! Went on a night out with the girls here, the service was quick and easy and atmosphere was great. The staff was lovely and friendly which makes the venue even better. I recommend to go here.

We haven't been in here for a while and after 5 minutes we realised why..... Full of people of a certain age watching the racing on the TV is not the early buzzy Friday night atmosphere that we were looking for! There are 9 wines by the glass - 3 each of white, rose and red and the first two I asked for were not available. Ok so it is cheap, but this the centre of Solihull and there are definitely better options!

Popped in before a family function elsewhere and was pleasantly surprised! Staff were nice and the atmosphere wasn’t bad at all. Overall a decent experience

WE visited this place for a change from our usual trip to Weatherspoons & their garlic tainted steaks. We had no trouble finding a table for four. A pretty quiet place with no loud music that you have to raise your voice over. I plumped for the all day breakfast, which was very good. The only draw back was the table, that was far to small to accommodate four servings & it was wedged by a folded menu to stop it rocking.The table next to ours was also wobbling so much the I saw at least one couple sit down to it & immediately move somewhere else. The other problem was either the tables were to high or the chairs were to low , as you had to adopt a hunched over position to eat your food. Not good for digestion ! Everyone was satisfied with their meals. A quick visit to the toilets confirmed a good standard of maintenance & cleanliness but you have to be careful, when using the hand dryer , that you are not hit by the entrance door !

Had steak on the Wednesday cooked perfectly ...lovely place to eat ,great atmosphere would def come back again

Visited here on the 27th for a quick bite because we'd been before and found it really good! We both had the chicken and bacon salad which was beautifully presented and tasted amazing!we shall be returning, it's becoming a firm favourite!!

Always friendly service and excellent value. We always use this pub for our breakfast when down for the classic car show.

We visited for drinks and found the drinks incredibly cheap although there was a very poor selection of wine and cider. Food menu was varied with a lot of selections for vegetarians and those on gluten free diets. Food on neighbouring tables looked and smelt good.

Usually I stay well clear of Yates, they're invariably hell holes but this was is surprisingly clean and tidy, plus everywhere you look you can see a TV screen if there's football on.

Visited Yates on 12.09.19 at lunchtime. We ordered food at 1.35pm and despite advising staff that my son was on his lunch hour it didn’t arrive until 2.15pm. Even then there were 3 of us and his meal came out done time after the other 2. A new member of staff who’d been there 2 days was left manning the bar on her own and when serving a customer was struggling to locate lemon slices. Felt so sorry for her as she was doing her best. Only saw 3 members of staff. My son struggled to ask about his mealAs there was only the new member of staff at the bar serving when he went up.Poor management of staff and insufficient numbers to cope with lunchtimes which can suddenly get better.Much room for improvement

9/10 would recommend to a friend. Cosy lighting but large place. Mushrooms tasted really good. Beautiful building and lovely area. I am stunned at how delicious the breakfast was for such a cheap price. Waitress was friendly and polite also. Only downside was the table felt a little bit dirty but cleaned it with wet wipe and it was fine. Glad I went!

I arrived on the At 2400 pm after a shift at work to collect my other half, they all seemed like they had a good night. Then the next thing I know were being told that we had to leave, confused we go down stairs was told that apparently one of our group was being rude to the manager and had called him a prick, which was completely false due to the fact that it was overheard by another colleague, as myself and my colleagues all working in a bar we know how it’s horrible , we believe this manager just lying because he clearly couldn’t be bothered to work his attitude stunk, as well as when outside we overheard him call our college a prick. While outside the bouncer also agreed with us that he was arrogant. I also caught him passing drugs considering this a zero tolerance drug place this is absolutely disgusting overall I believe that the manager needs To pull up the cctv and remove him. This is disgusting I believe there should be an internal investigation completed

Absolutely appalled by the way I have been treated by bouncers. A female, not sure of her name but wish I had it, refused my entry due to her genuinely believing my ID wasn’t me! It’s actually laughable. I am a regular and local to the area, I am always out up solihull in these venues and have always had trouble in yates especially with these bouncers, I don’t know what their problem is. She asked for my bank card so I had no issue with showing her that as I am aware that underage people do attempt to go in of a night and are actually successful. She wasn’t having any of it and then asked to see my Facebook! Providing that evidence she still refused my entry although they were completely significant evidence and my provisional picture was only taken eight months ago! To avoid embarrassment I then proceeded to go back in to walkabout as I had my stamp from earlier on, she then followed me and my friend over and ordered the bouncer to not let me in although he knows I’m a regular and had originally saw me earlier on. I was then told to stand to the one side like a child and in understandable frustration I asked what their issue was and a bouncer then shoved me to one side. To top it off I was also stone cold sober and was on lemonade all night. They clearly have some sort of personal issue with me and I certainly feel targeted to the point that I don’t even want to go out in my home town anymore. The bouncers are rude and love the sound of their own voice too much to even listen to anybody else, they abuse their power and don’t focus on serious issues that take place and instead would rather cause people like me drama for no apparent reason, it certainly ruined my night and I will not be returning as I will not be spoken to and treated like that ever again. Shocking.

Ordered a Guinness and the young man called Connor put the glass down and let it pour which is the incorrect way to pour Guinness and did exactly the same for the second pint. When he started to do it on the second pint I asked him to lift the glass and his response wasn’t very polite, didn’t apologise, attitude totally wrong. Either laziness or poor training. The only thing he appeared to be good at was glass collecting. I was served by a young lady on the third pint, which was served correctly.

We visited Yates in Solihull on Bank holiday Monday afternoon for a late lunch. The food was great. Hot, tasty and plenty of it. Beer was excellent and reasonably priced. A man (who we assumed was the manager) was helpful and attentive. Even fetching us a round of drinks from the bar to our table, without a tab. Said pay when you leave. Brilliant customer service. Well worth a visit.

This is the regular haunt of work colleagues and I. We tend to visit daily for coffee and to chew over the horrors of our work mornings. We have the food or the alcoholic beverages very rarely but must give praise for the service. No matter how busy the staff always have time for us and are always welcoming and pleasant. Coffees hit the spot, too after a busy morning. Great place for a natter and is cosy, amongst the pensioner lunches and the Men of the Midlands taking their lunchtime beers. Today's server was Hope, a lovely friendly and efficient young lady who has been known to remember what my friends and I drink.

Visited on a Saturday evening at 6.15 very busy at bar as you would expect with very reasonable price drinks !! Could do with more staff than 2 !! And as for the girl collecting glasses and working on food station well she really needs a personality transplant !! Rude and miserable!! Overall a basic pub with good beer prices

An excellent English breakfast and amazing value - all served up to noon. Also has good veggie option as well as meat.

Often meet up with friends at Yates in the old assembly Rooms in Solihull the food is good and price is good seating is ideal for talking with friends. Well worth a visit.

I was on my way to another place for breakfast, they I saw the sign for breakfast and decided to stay here.

This restauurant is easly accessed by bus train air and foot and is in the centre of Solihull it is family friendly has skye and bt sports theere is a cinama upstairs with snocke and pool the drinnk and and food are good value

Met friends for a late lunch and food was as expected. Not all the meal was hot with chips not looking their best as if they had been kept hot for a while. Food and drink very reasonable and enjoyed the experience but mainly because of our friends not the food. Drinks very reasonable priced and good variety. Place has been partly refurbished since being taken over and looks more inviting. Good selection of Veggie foods now.

Our Christmas works outing was around Solihull and started here to watch the football, play some pool and have a drink.

I visited Yates on Saturday afternoon with a couple of friends for a few drinks and some food. The food was lovely, came out piping hot and really good value for money. The staff were all great and checked that everything was ok with the food and even offered us table service. We opened a tab and just paid for everything at the end. Really enjoyed our visit and will be back soon.

The front of house staff were really nice. But the kitchen let this place down massively. First of all my mixed grill was missing a chicken breast and my steak requested rare was well done. Also I ordered a peppersauce and cheesy garlic bread they were no where to be seen. I sent my meal back to to be sorted it returned 25 mins later and had no sausage on and my peppersauce still hadn't arrived.

Have eaten breakfast here twice now and it's quite hit and miss, had breakfast previously and no problems. although it would be nice to maybe have free tea/coffee refills as some other places do, like Wetherspoons.

I’d not been here before. The pub looked lovely when we arrived, very welcoming. Tables are spread out and not overcrowded. The food, however, is a different story. My friend had pie, chips and vegetables and I had fish, chips and mushy peas. The pie was hot, everything else on my friends plate was cold. My fish was hot in places but stone cold in others as were my chips and mushy peas. When ordering we enquired as to what type of pastry was used on the pie, no one knew, not even the ‘chef’.

We visited last Saturday at approx 5.30pm for a bite to eat. I ordered the Lasagna which wasn't too bad tbf . But my partner had the Chicken & BBQ melt and paid an extra £1.50 for the upgrade in size . He was very disappointed to say the least , the chips on his plate looked awful & were awful ,as too was the quantity ,we counted 7 if including the bits ,they looked over cooked and dry but in fact they were hard in the middle . We overheard a large group of people on the next table complaining and even laughing about them too . ( Nothing like in the photos above ) On this occasion we chose not to complain because we were in a hurry ,but we have been put off visiting this place again . Average food for the money would have been acceptable but this was actually very bad value for what we paid especially as he had upgraded !! Also just to point out there are televisions everywhere ,and I mean everywhere !!! ( I realise it's a bar though ) so if Footy or Horse Racing isn't your thing while eating , go elsewhere . Carpets also are filthy or they were, where we were sat near the front Windows , Couldn't believe my eyes when I looked down !! Very Grubby !! Left feeling very disappointed !! So much choice in Solihull , we made the wrong one , we will be going elsewhere next time . So wish we had taken a photo of what came to our table !

My Partner and I have been in here before but now the place has been refurbished and very nice too, as for our meal my Partner had her usual Veggie Burger and I had a Burger topped with bacon and cheese which were both enjoyable washed down with a pint of ice cold Carlsberg each. A quick and pleasent service the waitress also came and checked with us during our meal if everything was to our satisfaction which it was. A word about the menu it has been updated since the last time we were here no problem there but one thing stood out and which we were very pleased about a whole page is devoted to Vegetarian Food, well done Yates a big step in the right direction and yes we will be calling in again soon.

Went here to watch a game of football on sky sports. Plenty of seats with views of TV screens. I had the all day breakfast as I watched Wolves earn a well deserved draw against Man City.

Visited around 11am today having been in town shopping.

Visited on a Friday evening. The menu had a good choice of pub food and it's not expensive. The food was served quite promptly and was edible but very average. It's a large place and wasn't crowded but the music was at a level that made conversation very difficult and the constant high level of noise was quite stressful - so overall the experience was unpleasant.

Awful food i had a dry tuna mayo jacket and my wife had the noodles with steak strips . steak was just gristle and neither of us could get our teeth through it . My wife piled it on tissue next to her plate and the barmaid/waitress could see it quite clearly and never even bothered to ask just said have you finished and took them .

We came in for lunch on a Monday afternoon it was very busy but we were served in 10 mins delicious Halloumi chips and peas and my partner Nick had cheese and onion pastie both under £7 excellent value

Yates is a simple but good place. Good for a night out with friends or family. I go quite a lot and I’m never disappointed

I honestly feel that the Big Breakfast at Yates in Solihull is fantastic value. The snag is that some of the staff are really good and others are awful.

Where to start....since changing to Yates this place has gone down hill. First the positives, beer was ok, however young bar staff and manager are like rabbits in headlights not really knowing what is going on or who is doing what or names of the beers.

We visit this pub most Saturdays, it has its faults (poor toilet facilities etc..) but we enjoy the atmosphere, so live with it. This week we sat by the window, and had a lovely view of the security man smoking and spitting on the pavement every few minutes. Not nice.

Me and my two sisters and mum went out for lunch here recently when we went shopping, I have been here before but the menu, name and the general thing was changed. But its still as much of a treat. For main course, I had a southern fried chicken burger and fries, it was nice and brought to me quickly, it was made well and chips are brilliant. The burger was fresh and warm. The service was fantastic, so fast and they were pleasent to talk to. My younger sister had sausages which according to her were brilliant and ate it all. My mum had a club sandwich which looked very appealing. For dessert, the younguns had vinilla Icecream which apperently was everything it should of been and that they can't fault it. My chocolate orange cake was very strong, so hot that you couldn't really taste much however you could taste how rich it is. But on top of that piping hot custard, personally you should of got a nice light dollop of ice cream to lighten it up. It was too much altogether. Felt a bit sick. But apart from that, a nice treat.

Why oh why do you allow hoards of people smoke at the front door. Lots of people smoking inside the porch because of rain. We walked into Yates into a mouthful of smoke. Horrendous. You know the law. Apply it or get shunned

I went to Yates in Solihull with a small family lunch (vey late due to an over running appointment) The music on entering was deafening, but we found a table at the back where conversation was possible.

Had breakfast here on the Sat and Sun mornings. Hotel breakfast was over priced and under rated so came here. Lovely place, great staff. Nothing too much trouble, in expensive and great food, freashly cooked to order. Brilliant!

Popped in today for quick bite to eat. Ordered half roast chicken with chips. When is arrived the chicken skin was pale and soft not roasted at all, more like boiled. When i cut into it it was dry and extremely tough i had one forkful it was disgusting. Not sure what the taste was but it wasnt fresh roasted chicken. Called a lady over i explained how awful it was. All she could say was ' cant help the way it tastes, thats how they're sent to us' fiĺled me such confidence for the rest of their menu. Not sure why she seemed surprised when i requested a refund rather than something else from the menu.

Chicken burger and bombay burger good. Bar arranged into little rooms. Bar service delayed by serving coxtails but OK.

Visited on Saturday evening, a young crowd mostly & was as expected, however I was shocked to see several young men partaking in sniffing what I think was cocain in the gents toilet, in front of the Toilet attendant who works for tips by controlling the ability to wash your hands & offering a spray of counterfeit aftershaves.

Wow we couldn't believe it when we walked in. Yates had been redecorated all the way through. It was bright so homely, very very friendly. And the LIFT WORKS! It hasn't worked since I can't remember. The chairs were comfy and upstairs was great there was four pool tables layered seating to watch football on a big screen.
