Con un número de amigos por debajo de los 18 , ir a un pub no era una opción, pero tengo que decir, poder celebrar la pequeña reunión en Elderberry Blacks era una alternativa brillante. El buffet era increíble y a un precio razonable, ya que somos las opciones de bebidas. Pastel de cumpleaños proporcionado también. Definitivamente volveré más regularmente. El mejor servicio, la comida y la sensación del lugar en general es genial. Como negocio independiente, a menudo se dice que "lo usas o lo pierdes". Yo diría lo mejor del Reino Unido, así de bueno es. De principio a fin la comida es increíble. El plato es agradable y caliente y la comida caliente. We went for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. The cafe wasn’t overall busy so we were seated swiftly. We ordered coffees and the full English breakfast & Chicken Club sandwich. The food was okay, the breakfast was overly oily & the sandwich wasn’t anything special. Overall cost for 2 people was £30. The wedges were huge wedges of potato with no seasoning at all. A little bit disappointing for the price point.

Oohhhh...had a lovely breakfast at this great cafe in Knowle. Service was great and food came out at a very high standard. Drinks were also great, will be back again when in Knowle!!

Ok ish...just popped in for quick coffee but it felt like we were in the way, the staff seemed more interested in any tasks other than serving us, coffee was not the best tasted quite watered down, don't think I will be returning...

Lovely food, nice staff and some toys for smaller children. Also does gluten free bread too. Can be very busy so may need to reserve a table.

I have been here 3 times now. Everytime I have tried to go in for food the service has been awful The first time was for gelato, the 2 young girls had locked up early and said they were leaving The second time was for food but they were missing a lot of items from the menu Today was for food and they couldn't sit me anywhere near a plug socket to work. Today is more forgivable than the other 2 times but I'm done trying

Disgusting latte. Im sorry but it was just hot milk. Asked for an extra shot she said she was doing a double - I still wanted an extra shot. Weird atmosphere. If there’s one thing I can’t stand is an unfriendly atmosphere. You should greet all customers upon entrance “hello, how are you, what would you like to order ?” Either way won’t be going back- was supposed to be taking friends and family of 6 there. That’s cancelled. Why do all the places in Knowle do rubbish coffee ? I guess it’s just as eye candy as the area-pleasing to look at but no personality/substance.

Great breakfast, Iwe we served immediately, the cafe only had two people sat down. Whilst we were sitting and looking at the menu, the cafe got busier. We ordered a breakfast each one was the lighter breakfast and I ordered the crossover. With a tea each, the serving size for the lighter breakfast was good to keep the hunger at bay I enjoyed a slightly bigger meal with the crossover. Definitely a nice little cafe I would recommend.

Decepcionado con nuestra visita aquí hoy, el jugo y el batido eran agradables, pero no tan frío como esperábamos. Hubo una espera muy larga para la comida a pesar de que era bastante tranquilo. Los huevos revueltos eran muy decepcionantes, sabían más a leche que a huevos, demasiado líquido que afectaba la consistencia de los huevos. Tampoco recibimos cubiertos con nuestra comida. El servicio en general fue muy lento. Lamentablemente no volverá.

We love going there. The food is consistently great, the coffee quality is good and the cakes are spectacular. The little kids play area is also handy. Such a cosy spot.

Lovely little independent cafe in sleepy Knowle, near Solihull, offering delicious food and drinks with great service. The vegan breakfast is fantastic and the frozen smoothies are delicious!

Great ingredients cooked perfectly and at a very reasonable price considering the quality of the food and very friendly staff I'm a former chef and avid cook myself so I know quality when I taste it!

We like to support local businesses and we've been to Elderberry Blacks a number of times before, for coffee, and it's been great. Following a number of local recommendations for its Sunday breakfast, we decided to try that yesterday but we were very disappointed. The service was very slow (although the staff did apologise for that). The coffees looked like light brown water (they were large Americanos which obviously had too little coffee and too much water in them) and the breakfast, when it finally arrived, looked as though it had been cooked in a hurry. The fried egg was slightly underdone (very, very, offputting), the sausages were cooked but only just, and the bacon was very fatty, with the fat uncooked, rather than crispy. This might work for some, but definitely didn't for us (perhaps it would be a good idea to ask customers if they like their bacon crispy or not). I also would have appreciated some butter with the toast. The veggie bits of the breakfast were fine (tomatoes, mushrooms, hash brown) and the portion sizes were good but the overall experience wasn't good. Since we've used E.B. before for a coffee stop without a problem, we'll probably use it again for that, but I won't be recommending the breakfast.

There are actually many factors which go into making a good breakfast sandwich or bap. Whether it's the ingredients' quality or the amount of sauce. Because of this, you never really get one that is quite right. That was until I had one at Elderberry Blacks. The first time I have ever had the perfect breakfast bap! This is no one-off either. Every single thing I have had from here has always been top-notch. Do yourself a favour and go if you've never been before. If you have, go more!

Just got back from a holiday in Thailand and this English Breakfast reminds us of the things we love in England. Lovely family venue and great food.

We have been to Elderberry Blacks more times than we can count. There are so many breakfast/brunch options and the food is simply delicious. We selfishly didn’t want to leave a review because it’s a small cafe and we don’t want everyone to find out the area’s best kept secret, and not be able to get a table ourselves! but we know how important these reviews are for small business and honestly they deserve it. Very family friendly with a lovely little area for children and baby changing too. Also dog friendly! It’s small though so get there early or call and book ahead! Special shout out to the mushrooms and spinach in thyme butter which are UNREAL! Our go to every time we want breakfast/brunch!

If venturing into Knowle in search of breakfast/brunchie food… choose here. It’s a little gem of a cafe in premises with character. Really casual and homely. Food was freshly made and served promptly. Popular, so if you don’t like waiting for a table, perhaps can call ahead and reserve. I will happily return and try out more of their menu.

Visited this morning for the first time. I enjoyed a tasty bacon & egg sandwich , with a large cappuccino. Although I live in Solihull , and must have passed by this great cafe lots of times , I only discovered it today via a Google search of cafes in Knowle. I'll be back 😉

My mom booked me an afternoon tea here for my birthday. Having booked it for 12:45 we arrived for that time and were promptly told in no uncertain terms very abruptly, that we were 20 minutes late and would not be allowed to stay past 2 as they close at this time. Given that they knew it was my birthday I thought some sort of good feeling might have been present but unfortunately, I was very much mistaken. At this point, we should have just left as the experience only got worse. My mom was then given a tea with no milk, the afternoon tea was served- very plain and very obvious that they had had it ready for when they thought we were going to be arriving and left it out as the sandwich bread was slightly stale. When we left clearly the staff thought about the way they had treated us as they tried to explain there was a mix-up and they didn't realize we were arriving at that time, by which time it was too little too late. Wish I could have spent my birthday anywhere else, terrible hospitality and as it is an independent family business we really wanted to like it.

My Wife and I love our breakfasts here, what a treat, the best full English I've ever eaten, and I've had a few, many thanks.

Visited today for a baby shower and requested gluten free and dairy free afternoon tea. The food was incredible,some of the best free from I've ever had!

We popped in for lunch just as a convenient stop-off while driving from Manchester to London. What a great find! Quirky little cafe with a cracking menu of all-day breakfasts and lunches. Delicious club sandwiches, good coffee 👌

I often stop off at Elderberry Blacks for a Takeaway sandwich and a coffee due to spending a lot of time on the road for work. Service is always spot on, friendly front of house staff as well as chefs, no trouble when I’m always asking for extra adjustments to my sandwich, the food never fails to hit the spot and the homemade Mayo deserves a special shout-out of its own! Highly recommend to check this spot out!

First visit to the lovely café and will definitely be back. Didn't have any food, just drinks but next time I will because it all looked delicious and really well presented. Coffee was delicious, not at all bitter. A great selection of teas. The only negative comment would be the staff were efficient but not very friendly. Could have made a little more effort.

A real shame as the breakfast was good but we won’t be returning as the staff were so miserable. The lady and young man working on Saturday 18/11 really were in such a foul horrible mood. We were close to walking out but had somewhere to be. Thankfully the breakfast was good. A shame really. Customer service needs re looking at…

Had the best breakfast in along time this morning! Very well priced, full English for the man and smoked salmon and poached eggs for the lady and a cracking pot of tea. Definitely the best in the village! Well done guys, see you next week 👍

Me and my family have been coming to elderberry blacks over the past couple of years and it’s our favourite breakfast spot, we wouldn’t go anywhere else! The food is always AMAZING and the service always great. Can see staff really take pride in working there. Can’t wait for more lovely breakfasts !

Had mixed experience at this cafe. Went with a large party a few weeks ago and service was relatively speedy although the staff never seem particularly happy to be there. Food was good - I had a pesto-mushroom dish which was delicious. Returned two weeks later and had the service was beyond slow - one of our party had to change their coffee to "to-go" as it took nearly half an hour to arrive. The delicious mushroom dish didn't appear to be on the menu this time which was disappointing. Had avocado and halloumi instead which was OK, but not amazing. The staff weren't great, taking ages to acknowledge anyone going up to the counter and never once smiling. To be fair, there was only one person on the counter so they were definitely understaffed for a busy Saturday morning.

A lovely cafe. Everyone was very helpful and friendly and the food was spot on. I highly recommend the mushroom brunch, absolutely delicious. Will be coming back when we pass through again.

What an incredible little find for breakfast . The food was superb . The best breakfast I have had in a long time , well presented , tasty and fresh . We got there when it opened and I am glad we did as it soon filled up . Recommend to anyone visiting the area

Have visited several times and cannot fault the food. However bar maybe one occasion, the service has been extremely off putting, rude even. Appreciate its in Knowle, an affluent area. But that doesn’t give the them a free pass to behave they way they do

The worst breakfast roll i have ever had swimming in grease cheap sausages and hardly any sauce. It cost around £7.50 for one roll, food made me feel sick, do not recommend. i left half i did not finish because it made me feel sick. my wife used napkin to wipe grease off her food I'm from era where you do not leave food but this was that bad that i could not finish please don't lie and say i finished my food Hayley, out of all the people that go into your cafe how would you know who finished there food and who left something and on what day?

What a lovely little find! Popped in on our walk with our dog and had a lovely breakfast and couple of lattes. All of it was very tasty, great value and served beautifully. I ordered poached eggs on toast, the eggs were so creamy and tasty. Chef had cooked one more poached egg so it was offered to me too! What a bonus. Will definitely be back. Our dog loved it too! WOW - what a brunch …. Food was amazing - such generous portions and value for money . The staff are friendly and helpful - highly recommend - even if it’s just for a pit stop - however I would build in another 30-40 mins to your stay and delve into there wonderful breakfast/ lunch menu - you will not be disappointed . Came for a lovely spot of tea with my Mother for her birthday on Sunday, tea was absolutely gorgeous. Red- headed lady was very accommodating and made my day. Will definitely return.

Lovely cafe, the staff are welcoming and polite. There is lots to choose from on the menu, I had an omelette with salad which was perfect, I haven’t found another place that makes omelettes like them. My partner had French toast which she said was amazing! Definitely the best cafe about. Look forward to coming back!

What a great place to meet and recharge! The food was amazing - mushroom, egg and spinach on toasted sourdough bread, with Parmesan for a delicious twist. Lou gave an enthusiastic and cheerful welcome and kept us well served with hot drinks. Definitely a place to visit again!

Me and my partner dined here after a short walk from home. I really enjoyed the French toast with my favourite cup of loose leaf Berry tea. My partner tried the mushroom brunch for the very first time and wow will definitely be going back just for that alone.

Arrived with partner to this cute looking cafe as i had been recommended by a family member. We walked in and it was an awkward atmosphere as we didn’t know wether we seat ourselves or get seated so we’re kind of lingering near the front. The staff member noticed us but didn’t say anything until i asked do i seat myself or is there set seating. She then went to check for seating and then went to where we’re told to go, this was quite cold, dark and empty feeling area. I went up and ordered and the woman was pleasant with the service. Our drinks arrived and they were good but i felt the cold drink i ordered was quite empty and could’ve had more for the price i paid, but then the food came and we were left disappointed. It looked nice but the whole food just tasted like it had been dunked in water and was soggy which also took away any taste, it was just about warm so became cold very quickly. I would also expect maybe a couple more bits on the plate like another sausage and definitely another slice of toast. Both me and my partner could only eat half our meal due to all this. Unfortunately i wouldn’t go back or recommend this place 😫Maybe it was a one off or maybe i should’ve just ordered something else but i was left we’re disappointed due to lack of flavour and the pure water taste. And my whole meal of two breakfasts and one hot and one cold drink came to £30! Also one thing i would have preferred is the choice between normal beans or smoky beans as i don’t like smoky beans and i imagine there’s more people with the same opinion. It was a good place to try but again i wouldn’t return or recommend.

We had brunch over there, it was nice but not really good honestly. The quality of the avocado was very poor, the forks were not clean and we had to ask two times to change them, glasses were not very clean as well.

The staff here were just exceptionally awkward. As soon as we entered at 3pm we were told, Sorry there's no hot food and we will be closing soon. I said that was okay and asked when they were closing to be told it was 4pm but that they would be mopping around us. There was no welcome at all, just a straight out We are closing soon, even though we had an hour in which to have a coffee. They very clearly just didn't want to take another customers order so they could start clearing up early. When I asked if we could have a scone that was on display (not hot) I was told that they didn't know if it was too late, as it had to go through the kitchen. I asked if they could check and was just told 'Sorry about that.' They very clearly did not want to take our order so they could get packed up and it was only 3pm. The staff were incredibly awkward and as much as I had wanted to try it here I definitely would not return again.

Absolutely LOVE❤️ this place it is such a hidden gem💎. Breakfast is amazing and they make the BEST flat white around. Gets busy for breakfast on Saturdays so I recommend booking a table to avoid disappointment… as it’s an intimate restaurant with less than 10 tables. Every dish is delicious and doesn’t disappoint. Plus the atmosphere is amazing with service second to none - friendly and welcoming without being intrusive. Give it a try - you won’t be disappointed if you are out and about for a stroll in Knowle.

Highly recommend the full English breakfast which was very good in quality and quantity. We certainly visit again.

Had the most wonderful breakfast with my daughter last Saturday and the staff were very friendly and welcoming. The menu had a great selection of mean to choose from and when we ordered they came in a timely manner and were absolutely delicious. I will certainly be going back again as the cakes looked amazing too!

Sadly this was disappointing! (hopefully a one off - it was Tuesday they had no coffee from Sunday) I asked Google for a coffee shop near my route and u liked the idea of not visiting a Costa for a change, after I parked ( free fir two hours) I actually passed a Costa. On entering I waited and was ignored only after a loud cough was I spoken to saying she'd (waitress) would be back soon she appeared after a bit and I asked fir a coffee to be told curtly, "we don't have any coffee." So I asked about cold drinks, "in the fridge" came the reply. OK so maybe she was having a bad day I guess serving in a coffee shop with no coffee could be quite depressing!! I stuck it out when I found an Elderflower drink and sat at a bench table made of what look like scaffold planks and poles. The interior was a quaint combination of old timber frame, modern and "chabby chic" sawn wood cladding...it did not work for me. The loo was a bit shall I say Heath Robinson, Maybe it was an exceptionally "black" day but sorry I cannot recommend the place and I won't be going back.

8 of us had a really lovely brunch here, we were a bit disorganised with our ordering and the staff were really understanding and sorted our mistake quickly! Very nice coffee, freshly squeezed OJ and veggie options delicious, kids loved the pancakes and bacon and adults loved the poached eggs - perfectly cooked. Lovely village, church visit and well fed!

Not the warmest of welcomes, no vegan cakes and not much vegan food, so my friend just had a pot of tea and soya milk. Decor and seating is nice though.

Fabulous vegan breakfast, friendly staff,great interior, a must to visit. They do traditional breakfasts as well and the lunches look lovely. I was just passing through with friends but we booked in for 2 days this week and were glad we did 💜
