Visited for a birthday meal at lunchtime on Saturday. Staff were great, food was amazing! We would definitely return! Recommend the loaded fries!

I went to @chinatownlondon with my French colleague and we had a Japas (Japanese Tapas) lunch @yataysoho 🇯🇵🥟🍢 WHAT WE HAD 🌱Kinoko gyoza £9 🐮Gyu gyoza £12 🦐Ebi gyoza £12 🐔Karaage £9.5 🍚Kinoko gohan £10.5 (Free🤭) All the gyozas are made in house. I loved Kinoko gyoza the most as it made with mushroom and truffle. Truffle the best😋😋😋 Gyu gyoza was a bit salty but very beefy while Ebi gyoza was flavourful. Karaage was well seasoned with ginger and garlic. It’s tasteful but I would prefer more juicy chicken thigh. Kinoko gohan was a surprise. The manager told us they wrongly made it instead of Kinoko gyoza so it’s free for us🤭 The rice texture was like risotto. For me, the rice was a bit dry and hard but the taste was pretty good with the mushroom and poached egg. Cozy but trendy interior with friendly & attentive service. It’s an excellent spot for date night or friends meet up☺️ Follow me on IG @ccgyozalover for more delicious foods🤗

Visited here yesterday (Mothers Day). We were sat at the bar area watching the chefs do there thing which we really liked. We had the Taste Of Yatay fixed menu, really glad we did as this was my first time of having Japanese street food. We got a of of food for the price of the menu . All the food was delicious, the stand out dish for me was the baby squid, I don't normally like squid as I find it too chewy, but the baby squid was delicious and far from chewy. I would really recommend choosing the Taste of Yatay menu for value for money and really good if you've never tried Japanese food before. Cocktails were so good, The KEMURI SOUR cocktail was absolutely delicious, blend of lychee, Gin, Yuzu, cranberry and apple, so good! Service was excellent, we were very well looked after, the menu was explained to us too. Just one little thing as it was Mothers day we felt it could have been acknowledged as it was obvious Mother & Son were out for lunch. We would certainly revisit as food and service were very good.

Introduced to this place earlier in the week and loved it. Really delicious food and love that you can choose your size of rice, spice and a side too. Really tasty and great value. Second visit and had the thinly sliced beef curry. Delicious. Not a place for a long meal but a perfect refuelling before heading off to theatre or something!

Interior has improved since the last visit which looked more like a converted pizza restaurant and now Looks like a restaurant with a large bar. Spacious interior with well spaced tables. Has the Tokyo roll- was good. The duck main was good but has to order an additional portion of rice. Service was good. Gin and tonics was well priced.

Had a craving for sushi somewhere in-between the high high end and Yo Sushi and chanced upon this place. Intending to do a lunch walk in for a la carte or one of their set menus, I was instead offered their Omakase menu only which is usually available via prior reservation only, more courses and of course, more expensive. The sitting was only half full so not sure why a la carte etc wasn't available. The edamame, dessert and miso were forgettable and barely deserving to make up three of the 11 courses (dessert was a scoop of ice cream) and the fish itself was good, prepared in front of you as you'd expect. It wasn't clear that the fish was "dry aged" so the flavours of classics were unique if familiar. The atmosphere was casual at lunch - this isn't pretentious although they still seem to be ironing out some kinks with the service - e.g some things were explained to one end of the counter and not the other. In addition to the lack of an a la option as suggested on their website (or set menus as featured in other reviews), the lunch Omakase is cheaper than on their website, which I only noticed after the fact as the so called encore sushi of your choice promised on the website was not offered so I double checked to ensure I had not misread. Overall a decent experience but some consistency in marketing/expectations management needed.
