Yardbirds in Birmingham

My husband and I are moving house. We have a 6 months old as well so, no time or desire to cook for us. We decided to order and try the Yardbirds and they didn’t disappoint. Good portions size and delicious food. I do recommend it.

Amy our host was brilliant throughout, as were the other staff. Food was great and really good value, especially during happy hour.

Amy was the perfect host! She explained the menu clearly mentioned it was happy hour she was Jolly with a big smile and even put up with my husbands joky antics ( which some people wouldnt) The food was delicious the chicken was succulent and generous portions. Thank you for great everything!!

Lovely, friendly service from Amy. Our lads loved the board games available to play while we waited for the food. Great portion sizes and delicious food. Will look forward to coming along again in the not too distant future.

Amazing visit , loved the atmosphere

Very quiet Thursday evening, but my daughter and I had fantastic service from the adorable Amy, lovely fried chicken burgers..... the smashed potato salad with tzatziki was ace .....And they have Deya Steady Rolling Man on tap. What's not to like. Xx

Visited with the kids on a Sunday afternoon. Really attentive and friendly staff. Kids loved the movie experience.

Right next to the Post Office Vault, a lovely place, cocktails (which I don't like) but a decent beer selection as well. Go try, well worth a visit.

I got the dirty clucker burger with regular fries. The burger was packed with filling which was nice though I'd appreciate the chicken being a bit more crispier and holding together better. The fries were soft and crunchy. Thank you for a nice meal :-)

Although not very busy, the waitress was really friendly and helpful. Very fun that the kids get headphones and can watch a film. Food really tasty and the burgers have plenty of chicken. Tried the season fries, mac n cheese and frikels, all fine. But the burgers were mega.

Yards better than other Chicken shops! The beers, food & service where 5*...GR8 selection of beers, cocktails & soft drinks, backed up by a wide range of fun'n'tasty fried chicken options (& awesome frickles too!). Nearly forgot the dessert menu.... pecan pie to die for!!! Amy kept the front of house animated....food, drinks &friendly banter flowing all evening. Highly recommend.....go there ASAP: U won't regret it!!

I must have gone past here numerous times, went in one Thursday. Honestly BEST BURGER I have ever had!

Me and my wife came to Yardbirds tonight to eat for the first time and it was so much better than we expected. We booked ahead as Wednesdays are two for one burgers and expected it to be busy. We were welcomed as soon as we arrived and shown to our seats and the menu explained to us, as well as the drinks specials. Straight forward menu as you’d hope, and plenty of various specials beers in draft and in can. It was nice to have clarity non the less. Soon after Amy arrived to take our order, an extremely friendly and bubbly member of staff, who answered all our questions and was very attentive. Within minutes she arrived with our drinks and a snack to keep us going while our order was cooked, which arrived fairly quick given it was a fairly busy evening. Our food arrived pipping fresh and hot, 2 burgers and a loaded fries. The food was so delicious and much, much better than I had previously had when I’ve had Yardbirds from street food vans. I would highly recommend Yardbirds to anyone who was visiting Stirchley, not only for the food but for the friendly staff and relaxed atmosphere. And a special shout out to Amy who made our visit memorable, just because of how bubbly and friendly you are. We’ll be back.

Very tasty food, great flavours and great coating on chicken.

We had an amazing experience at Yardbirds today ( to be honest we always do) Amy served us today and she was absolutely incredible! Our eldest is autistic and she soon put him and the rest of my family at ease and the service was brilliant! Kids had their favorite films on, Food was fresh, hot and so tasty we had no complaints! Milkshakes are so yummy too! One of our favourite places to go eat!:)

I’ve always had fantastic fried chicken here and still do. The sauces work very well and I love the batter. I would recommend the food still. However recently I have noticed the service slipping in quality. For example I had to wait over 50mins for the food when I went recently and the food was seasoned by both the kitchen and waiting team, making it almost inedible. Please improve the service so it can be 5* again.

Staff were fab. Particularly Ami, who made us feel welcome. We only had a side order of Fickles, which were tasty but an expensive nibble to go with our drinks. Unfortunately, it took almost 40 minutes to get these due to the number of just eat orders. I did feel f2f customers should definitely be prioritised. I love how they supported a local business. By stocking their beer. Will definitely be back to try the food which looked delicious x

Fantastic service from Amy - utterly lovely and funny and made it such a fun evening. BEST MAYO EVER! Tyler (mayo maker) is clearly an amazing genius. Can’t recommend highly enough! Felt thoroughly looked after.

Average food made worse by the service. Myself, wife and two girls went for food for my birthday. We ordered three chicken burgers and my youngest daughter ordered the wings. She had ate most of the wings but left one so I decided to be greedy and finish hers too, however when I bit into it I noticed a really weird smell and also noticed that the wing was red raw. I spoke to the lady who I believed to be the manager who arrogantly denied anything was wrong with it without even looking at the chicken wing in question. Instead she walked over the the kitchen are where she stood mocking muttering away to the other staff members and chef who were obviously in disagreement yet not one of them had even looked at the chicken wing in question. Will not be back. The food was average, atmosphere non existent and the service was even worse! With Greidys only around the corner the option for outstanding chicken, great service and amazing atmosphere will remain there.

A family group of 13, we called in after a visit to Legoland and the Sea Life centre in Brum, ready for a good meal. And it was. The food was really really tasty, beer and wine both good and the staff were so welcoming and helpful. Altogether a GR8 late lunch !

We travelled an hour from Nottingham to meet family for a birthday celebration. The food was incredible and service was fantastic. The birthday boy even got a special treat! Thanks for having us, we’ll definitely be back :)

First time trying yardbirds, went for a burger, seasoned fries and chicken strips. Was really looking forward to it and was starving. It came nice and warm but have to say I wasn’t impressed at all. Don’t normally compare places but greidy’s and bonehead are miles better. I actually woke up and was sick in the middle of the night, not sure if burger was 100% cooked but didn’t take any photos. Was planning on trying the wings night too but unfortunately won’t be.

They do not have a till, so do not accept cash. Very disappointing. Avoid at all cost until they accept legal tender

Really impressed! Food was fantastic, staff really welcoming and the kids club (headphones provided with films on the big screen... What an idea!) The design is really well thought out - wide, open walkways and the tables don't feel crammed together. Would highly recommend - well done to the owners. Will absolutely be back 🍻

Food was very disappointing bland chicken Luke warm over kill on the sauce meaning bap was soggy. Wings lacked taste also.

Went to the 'bottomless wings' deal. What an absolute joke. It is most definitely NOT bottomless so do not be fooled. I had 14 and they stopped serving. And I was one of the most eaten on our table! Their con is, they start service fast but quickly slow down. Wings start at a decent size then end up tiny! Awful service and a bad staff attitude. Avoid.

Just had the best evening. Superb tasty food, we all really enjoyed each mouthful Just right for us all. Flavoursome, crispy but moist. Will definitely making this a weekly event. Really had fantastic service. Very attentive and were able to answer questions clearly. We were all felt very welcome and will enjoy bringing other family members here as it feels very relaxed.

I had yardbirds chicken at 1000 Trades and thought it was very good, thought it offered different flavours to what you usually see at chicken spots in the uk and most importantly the food came out extremely hot and you could tell it was fresh. Would recommend still

went to yardbirds not too long ago at 1000 trades and was suprised by the speed and quality of the food . would defenitely recommend to anyone that loves tasty chicken

What a fantastic late night spot in Stirchley! From walking in to walking out, the staff were super friendly and all so approachable. Great drinks choices and good non-alc/AF drinks as well. The food was speedily made and was so tasty, and at a reasonable price point as well. Would highly recommend, especially after visiting Bham Brewing Co, Attic or the other great spots!

I recently visited yard bird burger restaurant and, unfortunately, my experience was quite disappointing. The food lacked flavour and seasoning, making the fried chicken burger bland and unexciting. The wings, which I was really looking forward to, were particularly underwhelming and didn't live up to my expectations. On a positive note, the waitress was very helpful and attentive, which made the service enjoyable despite the food not meeting the mark. Overall, while the staff was great, the lack of taste in the food left much to be desired. I hope you can improve seasoning and flavour profiles in the future.

Came here today after seeing a flyer on a lamppost and looked good from initial pics online Absolutely disgusting food and wasted £45 on 3 tasteless burgers. The wings are coated to disguise the chicken wings that look like they’ve been pumped with water. I came here with high expectations and it’s severely disappointed. I will never return here again. The chips were warm and at the end I was given one packet of Haribos to share between 3 people which is quite frankly ridiculous. 0/10

Absolutely disgusting food from the truck at Herberts Yard tonight. Chips were like they were bottom of the fryer for 10 days before serving, the chicken was tough and the coating wasn’t even on - £14 for that as well… I know never to visit the restaurant, that’s for sure.

If their stand at Herbert’s yard is anything to go by the food is not good enough. Bland and undercooked.

Place was quite, had a good aesthetic(chilled and fun). I went for the vegan kimchi burger. The taste was too acidic / sour for my liking but it was probably the kimchi vinegar. The textures however were soo good. I'd probably pass in the future unless they get a different vegan option. Sides were great.

Just been for me 1st yardbirds and OMG had a burger each me and wife and strips and chips as a sharing platter between us and the chicken strips are out of this world . Never going kfc again very tasty 2 fpr 1 on a burgers on a wed 100% delicious. Will be back soon

We chose Yardbirds as a place likely to suit both ourselves and our teenage boys for a celebration meal. I am vegetarian but was reassured by the good accounts of the vegetarian food. We went on a Wednesday when Yardbirds has a 2 for 1 burger offer so the place was packed. The evening did not start well as we were greeted with as much charm and warmth as a frozen chicken filet. Things looked up when we were shown to the booth we had reserved earlier, but sank again as we spent the next 20 minutes desperately trying to catch the eye of either the waiter or waitress so as to order. Both waiter and waitress were as desperate to avoid our eyes as we were keen to catch theirs so in the end I walked up and told the waitress we were ready to order. Once ordered the food arrived quickly enough. Both my husband and I like strong flavours so he had ordered the chicken ‘kimchick’ while I had ordered the vegan version. The kimchick is supposed to feature kimchi - the tangy spicy relish made with cabbage. One bite was enough to illustrate that the burgers had nothing to do with kimchi except in name. A few more bites revealed that the meat and vegan kimchicks delivered to us with emphatic confirmation that my husband’s was meat and mine vegan had in fact been delivered the wrong way round. I don’t know why it took us a few bites to determine this, my conclusion being that the burgers were so taste and texture less that it was difficult to determine what was in them at all. Our complaint to the waiter who asked us (without interest) whether everything was ok was met with the usual expressions of contrition but with no suggestion of any way to make amends. We considered making more of a fuss but the resulting tasteless recompense whether meat based or not hardly seemed worth the effort. On the plus side, our boys were happy enough with their gravy chick and dirty clucker. All in all Yardbirds at £11.50 a burger (without chips) seems very poor value compared to the £9.75 you can pay in Anjuna Lounge down the road for a very tasty chilli paneer wrap WITH dirty fries.And caneat’s 7-minute eggs packs all the fresh, real ingredients and taste so sadly lacking at Yardbirds. We noticed that at caneat where you can see the open kitchen, the staff are absorbed in their work and the team exude a liveliness and camaraderie. At Yardbirds by contrast, which also has an open kitchen, the chefs appeared listless - bored and tired. A little like the food.

We visited for the kids film club, what a great idea! Children enjoyed the film, very family friendly and lovely food as always.

Hidden gem the best fried chicken & fried pickles. Friendly staff & excellent service. Chicken burgers are huge & full of taste.

Came here a few weeks ago but haven't had the time to leave a review until now! First time visiting, it's a lot bigger than I expected, so should be plenty of space to find a table. The staff are really attentive and friendly, and you get some nibbles given to your table while you wait for your order. Burger and fries were great. Mac and cheese was nice but a little bit small for the price. Overall a great experience, and will visit again!

It was my birthday on 14/08/24 so I thought I head to one of my favourite restaurants in Brum. Me and my partner were well looked after by Tom and Kel! The food was unreal, their service and attentiveness was spot on even with an unexpected large table arriving. It was great to watch their professionalism when faced with that challenge. Safe to say I’m really excited for my next visit. Thanks for making my birthday a special one!

Best vegan chicken burger I've ever had in my life!! Bit pricey, came to almost £30 each, you also have to pay extra for fries (a bugbear of mine). Overall pretty good.

Went on a Wednesday evening (BOGOF) and for what we paid it was lovely. Unsure if I would rush back at full price as there are better burgers to be had at that price point. Chips were lovely though.

Finally went to Yardbirds the other day after wanting to try it for ages and it did absolutely not disappoint. Easily the best chicken burger I have ever eaten. Will definitely be back and keen to try a wing Wednesday soon as they looked fantastic when they went past

Amazing food, great staff, great atmosphere 10/10

Yardbirds is the opposite side of Birmingham to where we live, but it's so worth the travel. Their chicken is phenomenal. The coating is so perfect! Even the simple 'strips and chips' option feels special. Love the chipotle mayo. Try to make it to one of their brunch days. Chicken and waffles at its finest. The team are so cheery. They were also absolutely amazing at accommodating a table of 16 for my birthday brunch, and as a bonus, they're dog friendly so our pup comes with us to help hoover up any mess. We love Yardbirds.

Turned up for a yard bird takeover of the jewellery quarter at 20:50 to find out they have stopped serving and just thought it was funny. My evening is now to be replanned not great heard great things about it very disappointing.

The food was great! I had the Dirty Clucker burger with gravy fries and it was fantastic. The gravy was something else!

Came across Yardbirds after a recommendation from a friend, so decided to go and experience for ourselves. We wouldn't normally be in the area, so we were glad to find out about this place. The manager and the team were very hospitable as soon as we arrived, nothing was too much trouble, and they gladly came to help us with the use of highchairs etc. We had no idea that the "Kids Film Club" was on (where the kids could enjoy a film on the big screen, with headphones provided if preferred, and a meal for £1), so this was a lovely surprise, and a wonderful way to keep the kids entertained. Colouring activities were also available for the kids, so this was nice too. The food went down well for both the adults and the children, glad we were able to try the Kimchick Burger. Definitely hope we can visit again soon! Thank you to all at Yardbirds for a great Saturday afternoon experience!

Damn good chicken, downright odd service. First time at Yardbirds tonight. Couldn’t have had a more split experience. Food was amazing, could say worth the wait? However what’s not clear to me is whether the wait was down to the service or the kitchen. We waited half an hour to be served food on a one and quarter hour booking that they allocated. I did fancy dessert but according to their booking rule, there wasn’t enough time. And to be honest couldn’t be bothered to go through the rigmarole of asking for something and waiting for an eternity to receive it as we had done throughout the meal. My partner ordered another drink when the food was served. But he never received it despite the same waiter fulfilling an additional drinks order to the table behind us. Also felt like I was working a second job - after asking for and then receiving the bill promptly, we ended up going to the counter to pay it in the end because no one bothered to come over with the card machine, even though the table who’d arrived after us ended up paying and leaving before us. I would happily eat Yardbirds food again - but maybe it would be better to have it via a delivery service rather than eating there, as we saw numerous online orders going out the door while we agonisingly waited for our food.

Alright but nothing special unfortunately, despite being a lot more expensive than other burger places. Was still left hungry after spending close to £20 on a simple halloumi burger and chips and soft drink and contemplated getting dessert but would’ve had to take out a small mortgage.

The food is tasty cant fault it there but imo the portion size isn't great for the price, i got probably less than a handfull of chips with the "chips and strips" and they also forgot my sauces on 2 separate occasions, which really annoyed me..

We had a really lovely meal here for a friend's Birthday. It was midweek but the atmosphere was good and the food was completely delicious. They do 241 burgers on a Wednesday which was another happy surprise and made it even more reasonable price wise. They also do cocktails which we enjoyed and the service was friendly and non intrusive. Looking forward to going back ✨

Wow the kimchi burger is incredible big thanks to the team chef Tyler, and servers Charlotte and Kelly created a great atmosphere for me and the misses I would most definitely recommend the food here my only critique would be we had the coleslaw and for me it was to chunky I prefer it sliced thinner. But overall the staff food and atmosphere and value was there. Well don't to the team tonight. See you again soon. Oh and the gravy sauce daaaaam it was fire 🔥
