Yandles Cafe in South Somerset

Visited with our daughter and granddaughters for morning drinks and delicious pastries before visiting the play park for the girls.

Friendly service. Delicious food!

Visited about 4 weeks ago whilst we were on holiday as I love woodturning . After visiting the woodturning shop we went to the cafe and sat at the only available table left on the outside . There was a very large group of about 12 cyclists that were occupying the other tables and they had rested their bikes along the cafe side INSTEAD of placing them in the proper secure cycle racks that yandles cafe provide . Cut to the chase , they get up to leave , I've got my back to where they've dumped their bikes INSTEAD of using the EMPTY cycle stands and a lady cyclist reaches for her bike which is interlocked with a few more bikes wheels and bang , I'd got three bikes which fell with the handlebars digging into my back ! I've already got a back problem and that exacerbated the problem for about 3 weeks after ! The lady apologised but the arrogant male with her just said ... He'll be ok 😡. I was on holiday so wasn't going to respond but boy , I was getting riled and it's a good job they went ! If you visit yandels cafe be careful if there's cyclists there as they are a law unto themselves ! Perfectly good cycle racks but no , they won't use them 👎👎 Don't get me wrong , I love yandels but the blind eye to blatantly obvious things is not on .

Good choice of cake, busy enough and maybe should have ordered extra shot for my coffee. Service can be hit and miss.

The staff: Are lovely, I have come here a few times and they are always upbeat cheerful, polite and accommodating. Atmosphere: Relaxing inviting and cosy. Customer Service: Is swift, but like in any good cafe, you can expect to have to wait to be served in the busiest of times. Food and Drink: There is always a nice variety available this to goes for Vegan and gluten free options etc and there is always something new on the menu.

Had the large breakfast which was lovely. We sat outside and the general atmosphere was calm and relaxed.

We went for breakfast here on Sunday morning during our holiday and it was nice and had limited options but it was good.

Lovely cafe, delicious chocolate and pecan cake. Scones were warm and delicious, tea leaf tea - perfect stop on route to Exeter!

Lovely food and friendly staff. It can be too crowded when there is an event on but otherwise plenty of space. Has a nice courtyard area as well. Good craft shop too.

Came in today to the Craft event, also coffee & lunch. The staff are always very good but today they were exceptional, everyone was working really hard & always with a smile although I’m sure they didn’t always feel like it 😂 They worked as a really good team, so thank you so much to everyone.

Lovely little cafe, small menu of fresh food. I am a bit of a coffee snob and the latte I had was one of the nicest in a long time. And the pistachio and white chocolate cake 🤤 thank you!

This is the best breakfast we have found and we've eaten a few . It's a 10 from us . Lunch is always good as well.

I had a fabulous time and was extremely pleased with the service! A very nice young man at the counter (Adam?) made me feel very welcome, the quiche is to die for, will definitely be back when I next visit!

A great place to visit. As well as the craft shop and woodyard you can get super food in the cafè. We are always made very welcome by the staff too.

Yandles cafe has restored my faith in eating out. The food is delicious, fresh, home cooked and generous. The prices offer great value for money and the service is excellent. This is a gem of a cafe and one I will be returning to whenever I pass that way.

Only service dogs allowed inside so we went around the back to the terrace. Beware walking on the decking when it's wet - very slippery! Cakes looked good but we only succumbed to drinks this time.

Best quiche I've ever tasted. Bacon, leek and red Leicester cheese. The egg in the quiche was so light and creamy, almost like a savoury custard, and the pastry, which was short crust, I think was made in the old way with lard, but don't quote me. Absolutely delicious. This was a hot meal with a salad with seasonal dressing, also delicious 😋.

Having a visit to Yeovil, I googled looking for an arts and crafts shop and came across this wonderful Café. I came with my daughter and shared a Ciabatta, I asked for something slightly off the menu, a brie, bacon and red Berry sauce which was fabulous along with chips and salad. The food was very nice and the staff incredibly friendly. I will most definitely be telling my Mum about this beautiful place.

What a wonderful café, down to earth and very welcoming despite it being busy each time we visit. The food and drinks are priced well in these difficult times, seeing many establishments fold due to all of the on costs ( It particularly hard on the catering services at the moment with insurance, fuel and staffing costs, just to mention a few). The food has always been great quality and the coffee is excellent, a great place to meet friends or family, as you can then look at all the art and crafts as well as the tools and wood. There are vegetarian options and gluten free, just ask the helpful staff. There are clean toilets to use, tons of parking available and inside and outside seating. Assistance dogs are welcome inside as are children, what's not to like. We will definitely be visiting regularly, thank you all you hard working staff.

What a lovely friendly place to enjoy lunch ,food was superb, I highly recommend trying it out if you are visiting .you will see me again for sure .

It's was a clean café, in a great place. The food was of a great standard and so was the service.

My friends and I decided to go to Yandles and try one of their sawmiller breakfast we ordered at the till the wait was about 15 minutes found our table and ordered tea and coffee and paid it was about £35 for what we had it was in my opinion very good value for money the restaurant was easy to access and clean tidy our food arrived after a ten minute wait which was good the waitress was a very well mannered polite and chatty young lady cannot fault the service and food good value all round there is also a good arrangement of cake if you just fancy a quick cup of tea and a pice of cake after we finish we had a browse around the craft shop which was full of treasures like a Aladdin cave of gifts we then went across to the craft shop which if you’re a artist or in to knitting etc has a variety of things to purchase and then we walk to the woodworking department well that was a different experience all together

Popped in for lunch in the cafe as we were visiting Yandles to buy wood. The service was efficient, with friendly staff, even though it was busy, the tables were all cleared quickly and cleaned. We tried the BLT on the menu and it was superb. The cakes were very tempting too. Overall.. Great food, good friendly atmosphere, we will definitely return.

We popped in for a quick lunch as we’d heard good things about the cafe at Yandles. So maybe our expectations were a little higher than they should have been. Almost an hour’s wait for our food, although we were warned that food was taking 30-40 minutes so that’s fair enough. One server was excellent, a middle aged chap that was very attentive and informative, however that was let down by a young woman that seemed unable to smile or even say respond to our thanks. The food was okay, very middle of the road. Which is nothing to mark it down over, if it wasn’t for the fact that the prices really aren’t middle of the road. £40 for three meals and three drinks is a lot for mediocre food. To be honest, if the price was better the rating would be higher but I’ve similar or better quality meals for £3 or £4 cheaper in the area. The coffee wasn’t bad, but again not as good as the price would indicate. We probably won’t go back. Not because it’s bad, as it isn’t. It just isn’t as good as other places in the area.

Good breakfast with friendly pleasant staff

I certainly would not recommend this place ! I was treated appallingly when I came in with my little dog ! The senior staff waited until I placed and paid for my order before telling me dogs not allowed inside ( it had been drizzling that morning so I had no desire to sit on wet chairs ) Not only did I feel humiliated but I then had to wait while my refund was sorted out by management who insisted on me filling in a form !! Not a single word of apology the whole time - I should add I had a successful catering business in Reading and a coffee shop in Wokingham until I retired ! Never would I have treated a customer in such a diabolical way ( luckily never had to as we had a lovely atmosphere in my coffee shop back then !) I certainly wont be going back preferring to use Bilbeys in Crewkerne also the feeding station in Merriot and even the wishing well at Upwey cafe all who accept dogs and are super friendly ! Appealing customer service !

Me and my daughter popped in for brunch , we had the smoked salmon cream cheese bagel .It was lovely ,nice hot latte and hot choclate .Staff were friendly and polite .Would visit again x

After shopping in the lovely gift shop we popped in for a piece of cake & coffee. Delicious orange & polenta cake 👍. Wow very busy for 3 pm which was great to see and the staff were excellent. Such a lovely buzzy atmosphere 🙂

Have about 3 cook breakfast a week as I'm a builder and I can safely say this is the worst one I've had in years I'm very sad as I love the shops and go regularly so thought I would give the cafe a go but seriously guys give it a miss, I don't like to hate on small places but everything about the meal was terrible other people have posted pictures of the breakfast and I think a lot of those pictures speak for themselves.

I was quite disappointed by our visit to the cafe. Coffee was weak and had grounds in it indicating not properly tamped down. The bacon was very overdone (and I like well cooked bacon) and cold. The roll seemed a bit stale. The breakfast potatoes were really not good. Staff preferred to chat behind counter rather than check on customers or clear tables for the waiting guests. I really wanted this to be better as the shops are fantastic! Would definitely visit again for the shops but wouldn't have anything from the cafe, sadly.

Unable to get a table due to being quite busy, and not very disabled friendly, toilets very awkward to get to with crutches.

4 of us had brunch/lunch here - service was very friendly and the food was tasty. I had a smaller serving of the full English breakfast, and it was the perfect size for me. There are a few tables in the courtyard which was a nice and quiet spot to eat.

Wouldn’t serve us any food at 3 in the afternoon

Awkwardly we fell in the small gap between breakfast and lunch, however we were still treated to nice bacon and egg bap, coffee and a pastry chaser. Lovely staff and reasonable speedy service. Happy to recommend

A surprisingly very good lunch for a cafe frittata with salad all freshly prepared and yummy .Staff were pleasant and hygiene good in the cafe. Very reasonable price would recommend.

Ok breakfast, but took far too long to come! We waited at least 35 minutes for a simple fry up and the bacon seemed like it had been sitting around for a while!

My slice of blackcurrant crumble seemed tiny compared to my wife's piece of carrot cake. Apart from that everything was lovely

Lovely food and gift shop. Most of the staff were friendly and helpful. The waitress was the let down from 5 stars, as quite rude and basically accused us of lying - could of handled situation much more professionally when something was missing from order.

We happened upon this amazing place while trying to avoid the A303 and exploring deepest Somerset! Delicious and varied food reasonably priced. And beautiful crafts and art for sale. Only thing is, although there are toilets I did not see a disabled one, and there are one or two steps about the place. My hubby managed with sticks instead of his rolator.

The drinks were not hot. Its expensive for us people. Outside was nice. Cake was alright. Bacon was tough. All in all wouldn't come again.

Good freshly prepared food very speedily presented at the table at very reasonable prices. Pleasant, friendly staff. We make a point of taking a short detour off the A303 when heading between London and Devon to visit cafe and shop, certainly worth it.
