I have been here many times and was always assured that my meal was vegan, great. However we called up to order a takeaway last night and my boyfriend asked if any of the vegetarian dishes contain fish: waitress replied that they all do and that most vegetarians eat fish!! I would avoid this place if you are vegan/ veggie or have a food intolerance as the staff seem to think it is ok to lie about the ingredients!!

Went with a group of friends for dinner and felt really uncomfortable with the way we were treated by the older lady who served us. While she was writing my order down I changed my mind, apologised and asked if I could have one of my starters as a main meal. She rolled her eyes, made an 'aargh' noise and repeated my order in a loud voice while looking at me with disgust! Then completed the whole commotion by saying 'I have a problem with you!' She's Asian and her english wasn't that good so I understand she didn't really mean what she said. Still... She made me want to leave. Then she moved on to badly serve another member of the group. The food was ok but the tiny place with a moody, mannerless waitress doesn't do for me. I won't be going back! :-(

I went for my first time recently after many recommendations. the restaurant was busy on a tuesday evening but we got a table ok and were swiftly seen to by our waitress. The waitress was knowledgeable about the menu and helped me choose. The portions are large which is great to see. I had one of the 'box' meals where you get a few different dishes and then one main dish from many choices. All aspects were tasty and great value consider the portions etc.I can see why this is a hit in chorlton. There are for me better oriental restaurants in manchester but it does the job in this local area very well. I hope to be back again soon.

Food is fantastic can't complain. Would have to wait 30 minutes for dessert so our group didn't bother. We requested to sit in the warmer part of restaurant, but this was refused as they had a booking of larger party for that area. We were placed near the door which was very cold on the constant opening and closing. Whilst customers were queing the door would be left open.I didn't tell them it was my daughter's birthday but they overheard. Her birthday was acknowledged at the end of the meal with a free pudding and canal. Thought that was a very nice touch.Would recommend it but would only go back if I am guaranteed to eat in the warmer part of the restaurant.Food is good, the restaurant is long in length but not wide and quite small. Staff are friendly and let you change your meal i.e. half chicken half prawn. Please note not on all dishes.

I absolutely love Yakisoba in Chorlton, been going here for years but always forget to write my review. I have friends that live in Stretford and whenever we decide to head out for food we always head to YakisobaThe food is incredible, all freshly cooked, huge portions and very tastyThey have a large menu so it makes it difficult to choose as everything sounds yummyI always go for the bento boxes as they are superb value for money and you get the cheeky added extras of soup, prawn crackers, honey cashew nuts, salad and fruit for dessert. This is in addition to your meal and riceThe presentation is super cute, lovely traditional asian boxes, rice boxes and dishesStaff are all super friendly, limited English but service is prompt and with a smilethe waitresses always hold open the door for you which I find uncomfortable but they seem to enjoyThe only downside to Yakisoba is the size, its a long and thin restaurant and it feels cramped. its so popular that if they upscaled it would always be full. Tables are incredibly close together so you do feel like you are on top of the diners on the next table, so if you dont mind your personal space being invaded maybe not the ideal place for youI visited one Valentines day and they had decorated the tables with confetti and balloonsIf you love asian cuisine I cannot recommend Yakisoba enough, you wont be disappointed

We were told Yakisoba ,in Chorlton, was cheap and cheerful but proved to be neither! It felt like a student restaurant. One starter arrived 20 minutes before the other putting the meal on a back foot immediately. The benbo boxes were dreadful. The main courses were distinctly average. Then we we charged for a glass of wine we hadn't had. I spent the night feeling bloated and was under the weather the next day. Never to be repeated!

My partner and I love this place! There menu has so many lovely things on it and everything always tastes fresh. When we eat in the staff are always friendly and efficient, but not pushy or in your face, they leave you to enjoy your meal and take your time. We absolutely love the dumplings for the starter, it states on the menu that they take a little longer which I think is a nice touch, and they are worth the wait. The ramen dishes are always lovely too. They always make mine extra spicy when I ask without any issues. The takeaway service is very efficient too. Your meal is ready when they say it will be and is always piping hotting. The bento boxes are a nice addition too. It's very good value as we'll, two people can eat for under £20.I honestly cannot find fault with this place. I'd recommend it to anyone!

This is one of our regular places to eat out, and never fails to deliver in good quality, tasty and good value food. The bento box meals are fantastic value for around £8 you can stuff your face on healthy and flavourful noodles or curry. The only bad point is the last time we were there the sweet corn patties were rubbish compared to how they used to be - and they are usually my favourite part!! Great for a quick bite with friends or the other half. Definitely recommend!

This came with Miso soup, salad, fruit, and jasmine rice. Now, I can eat but this pushed me to the limit. My wife had the vegetarian zen udon bento. again this came with miso soup, slad, fruit, prawn crackers etc. along with a pot of green tea and a couple of glasses of coke the final bill was just over £30. I thought this was great value. The service too, was great, attentive but not in your face. All in all very satisfied

After fancying some Japanese food but didn't want to make the trip all the way into town myself and my boyfriend found this place. It's small and very busy but we were served and had food on the table very quickly! The service staff were great and even grabbed me some more pancakes for my duck because butterfingers here dropped the lot on the floor! Because its so small, the tables are very close together! We were seated right next to the kitchen but that didn't bother us in the slightest! The food was amazing! We shared some katsu chicken, dumplings, duck and sushi. The only thing I wasn't too keen on was the fact that the sushi was deep fried and hot. Personal preference though I guess? Great value for money, we got 4 dishes with a bento box and 4 drinks for around £30. Very tasty food I'd recommend you give it a go! If you want to book a large group, they will accommodate but I suggest booking in advance!

Been once before and experienced terrible service in that of the attitude of a short stumpy chubby waitress who wears rather thick glasses and insists on rudely snatching menus out of your hand midway through your order. In need of a half decent meal and in a rush I decided to chance it there again with my girlfriend.Unfortunately we encountered the same waitress again, I considered she could have just been having a bad day the last time we went so decided to reserve my judgment and maintain a smile. True to form she slammed down menus and in turn rudely snatched them back midway through my polite questioning of her thoughts on certain dishes. Both me and my other half are well exerienced with dining out and I could go on to comment on the diverse ways in which this waitress and other members of the service team literally knocked me sick to the point I almost refused to pay the bill but in typical english fashion I coughed up the dosh leaving a sour taste in my mouth. This waitress was truly rude beyond belief......infact strangely enough I do advise a visit to this upetty protentious chortlonite eatery as it will surely make you treasure even the polite down to earth smiles from the service in McDonalds in future.Loud yuppie chorlton environment / terrible service / mediocre food not true to the Japanese style advertised and more inkeeping with the cheap Thai chefs that work in the back.0 out 10

Having been living near this little restaurant for 5 years and never paid it a visit...how I have missed out all these years! We had a few starters to share, the chicken gyoza were delicious and so was the tempura tiger prawns. For our main course we shared the five flavours fried rice and the black pepper garlic fillet steak. Can recommend both of these the black pepper steak was fantastic with a really rich peppery sauce and the five flavour rice was packed with great flavours, chicken, duck, prawns and ginger which really set the rice off was delicious! Service was quick and polite and the food was hot and packed with so much flavour! Can not wait to come back here again what a little gem I have missed out on but so glad we decided to give Wagamamas a miss and came here instead! Yakisoba = Yummysoba!!!

I love this restaurant. The food is always freshly made and tastes amazing. Really good value for money. The bento box offers a full meal with a small salad, miso soup, crackers, fruit and your main course. Saying that, the gyoza are hard to resist so we always end up pigging out. The service is friendly and quick. As its only small, it can get very busy in the evening and its worth noting that you can't book a table for 2 on Friday or Saturday. Altogether a great atmosphere for a friends night out or a treat for two.

A small restaurant but with a nice Asian and minimal decor. Service was not bad but can be improved if better English is spoken. The food was very nice, tom yum soup was excellent and reminded me the one i had in Thailand a few years back. From the variety of Dim sums as starters i like the ones with the seafood. The ones with the meat didn't taste very nice and had big chucks of fat inside which was rather repulsive. For main course had soy marinated duck in spicy sauce, a well chosen crispy duck fillet in batter and jasmine rice. Sauce was nice and felt like spicy peanut butter For dessert i recommend the Pink Raspberry Syllabub-very nice indeed! The price for three course three person meal including tea was around 20Gbp-so very good value for our money!

Both my girlfriend and I have travelled extensively and are massive foodies. Decided to visit Yaki Soba as we both fancied some asian cuisine. Sadly disappointed. Mix dumpling starter - hot sushi with ham (hmmmm -revolting), sloppy dim sum. Bang bang chicken salad reminded me of average chicken chow mein from the takeaway with some lettuce thrown in for good measure. Fish soup - a bowl of noodles with packet hot and sour sauce. Service was awful - waitress brought the bento boxes for us to eat as we were waiting so long (btw way we were the only people dining). This place is awful and over priced - stick with Wagama's (yeh its that bad)

Visited many times over the space of a couple of years and, one or two incorrect choices aside, this restaurant is always excellent. I love the bench style seating that you get in many japanese themed places, i feel it always addes a sense of atmosphere and business that is perfect. The waiters are all excellent and lovely to speak to, beers and wines are reasonably priced and varied. The food is nearly always perfect! My wife and i are always so tempted to have some steamed dumplings to share for starters that we never finish our main meals! The Ramen soups are fantastic as well as the noodle and fried rice bento. We did choose a couple of gloopy things on one or two occassions but have since been back and had fantastic meals far more often than not! Its always a bit strange if you go with a group as they tend to just bring the meals out when they are cooked, rather than waiting for the whole table to be ready, which can be a bit odd sometimes, but i think you just probably have to accept it, and it's not a huge problem really. Great value for money and without wine (which we haven't managed to do yet!) you can spend £20 or less for 2 people which is great. All in all, a great choice and one of the best asian restaurants in Chorlton by far. Excellent!

I had been here for a works do & really enjoyed the food which was fresher tasting than other Asian restaurants I had eaten in previously; the food was less gloopy & you could taste the individual flavours.I went again with a friend a year later & had a reaction to the food the following day. My friend didn't eat the soup from the bento box & she felt ok. I woke up in the morning & my eyes were slits in a ballooned out face & I was constantly rushing to the loo. I think what I had, especially the soup, was loaded with MSG. So if you have had a previous reaction or you have something planned for the next day avoid the soup! I would give the place another go though as the food was enjoyable.

I went to Yakisoba with my friends yesterday. What a great place. The menu is a mix of dishes from Asia. All the dishes looked fantastic. We had the platters to start with and then each of us chose a bento box (basically you choose a dish and it comes with a box containing prawn crisps, sesame cashew nuts, a slice of melon and orange)…loved the Udon noodles and nasi goring. The portions are huge so you’d better be hungry. My friends couldn’t finish their plates and we were offered a doggy bag. The service is friendly and efficient. The place is spotless as well. Have you been Yakisoba'd? The great thing about this restaurant is the price of the food. It's very good value and the portions are huge. The main courses taste great and are served with Bento boxes that are crammed full of salad, nuts, pickled ginger, soup, crackers and fruit. You probably won't need a starter but they are good all the same. The problem here is the slow tingle on your tongue that gradually grows into a burning sensation which, in turn, becomes a desire to drink lots of water throughout the night. This is not down to chillis; it's the salt. The food is so crammed with said season that without the water your body would shrivel into a prune and you would eventually die. You will have been Yakisoba'd.Don't let this put you off; just remember to consume lots of fluids.
