Wagamama in Manchester

Rosie my server was just wonderful! In Manchester on business on my own and they made me feel so comfortable and safe. They chatted easily and without hesitation accommodated a change to my dish, and checked to see if it was ok too. After a long day, I could not have asked for more- amazing food and a sincere welcome- thanks, Rosie!

Very bad experience and poor service by Wagamama staff, unfortunately. I put in an online order for collection and the website gave me a collection time of 17.40. When I arrived at that time, a member of staff (without asking for any details) told me that my order wasn't ready. The reason given was that the collection time is the time the order is sent to the kitchen. I can accept a short delay, as long as that's clear all along. I waited for 15 minute and I was asked twice whether I wanted cutlery and confirmed twice that, yes, I wanted cutlery. Then I was handed what I thought was my order. When I got back, the food was completely different from what I ordered and there was no cutlery. By that time, I was too far away to get back. I had no way to eat the food I didn't order.

Always wanted to try Wagamama, today I did. The young lady who greeted me quickly found me a table. James introduced himself, he was very friendly, took the time to ask about me. Very efficient. I ordered the Chicken Katsu, absolutely delicious 😋 for dessert white chocolate and ginger Cheesecake 😋 I will return

STAFF ISSUE: read till the end. The prawn ‘firecracker’ curry was very good. The coconut ice-cream was above average but a little disappointing. The table staff were lovely but the guy that served the food to the table had the WORST attitude we could have imagined. He left us lost for words and we discussed getting up and leaving. That person has had zero hospitality training and seems to think he can bring his bad mood to work and serve paying customers. We shall not be returning. Sadly this employee has let down our whole experience and also let down your good name.

Had a delicious meal here earlier this week. There was a queue for tables but it moved quickly. The staff were exceptional and recognised that I was visually impaired and provide a large print menu and magnifier for which I was so grateful. The food arrived quickly and was really tasty. Thank you for taking care of me.

Never ever had a bad experience at Wags; 10 minutes, well "patrolled" waiting queue. Wait was less than said. Food, as usual was excellent. Not super cheap.

The food was horrible. I ordered some noodles and it didn't taste like anything. No taste at all. The restaurant is far too cramped and the staff take a really long time to go to you. Horrible restaurant, I don't recommend it!

It's an alright place to go to have Asian-oriented food, but it's nothing special in my opinion.

We turned up and waited in the foyer as you can't book, I wasn't keen but the waitress was really organised and gave us menus and TBF it's not the sort of place you spend hours over a meal so we were seated very quickly. We were seated on bench seats again not Keen but there was enough room between other parties not to feel cramped in, our order was taken quickly and our table number scribbled on a paper place mat with a qr code to pay, what we ordered was also scribbled on the mat so the guy bringing the meals knew who was having what. The food was really nice and well cooked and well presented. The firecracker curry was a bit too hot but the name gives it away so my issue I guess because it was delicious if you could handle it. The only problem I have is that the waitress said they were starting a new menu tomorrow so had no wine at all, one lager and she had to ask about that because she wasn't sure there was any and quite a bit of other stuff that never affected us I think that is dreadful what a shame because everything else was great.

If you want to hold back your belly, I will hold it back for you.

Wagamamas is not my go to at all but my daughter and her friend wanted to go here. Not going to lie, the food was excellent and insanely tastes. Service was rapid.

Great food. Very nice atmosphere. It's just opposite the tram stop so easy to stop off, grab a bit and then head back to sightseeing/shopping.

I love Wagamama and have been many times but unfortunately we walked out of the restaurant due to the rudeness of our server.

Extremely knowledgeable staff. Helped recommend a selection of foods for me and my family. The food is cooked fresh and can be made upon request as my mother had a peanut allergy. Highly recommend

Came here for lunch and was undecided what to order, it all looked so good. The waitress, Daisy, asked what flavours I liked after which she recommended the curry pictured. It was fabulous! Thank you Daisy!!

The restaurant was really busy and music was loud. We had to wait a while to be seated, but once we had a table, the service was really quick. Food was amazing.

Just had dinner here and couldn’t recommend the place enough. We had seats overlooking the kitchen where we could see everything that was being cooked. The chefs were a joy to watch and it was great to see how they worked as a team. The food was fresh and tasty and each of the staff that we spoke to took the time to chat with us making the whole experience much more than just another meal out. Well done to the manager and her team and thanks to everyone . We’ll be back!

Amazing staff! Amazing Food! Amazing Atmosphere! 10/10!

On a recent 4 day city break to Manchester last week with my Dutch friend, we ate at Wagamama (twice!). We loved it so much the first time, we went back again. This was because we’d had the most delicious, fresh and tasty food and we’d met the most wonderful staff. They were all so friendly and one guy Kai remembered us from the last visit and made us feel so very welcome again! I’d highly recommend Wagamama of St Peter’s Square in Manchester for extremely tasty food, really good value and very friendly staff too - winner winner! 😍😎❤️🤗

Nice location and atmosphere with friendly staff. Had chicken firecracker. Don’t remember it being that expensive. City centre pricing I guess. Meal was okay. Played spot the chicken for a while as there wasn’t that much of it. Also lacking a bit in sauce and the chicken didn’t appear to be marinated in the sauce as it lost its taste as soon as I bit into it. Overall meal was okay but location and staff very good.

I’ve visited this wagas a few times and never had a bad meal. This visit was no exception. My cousin and I popped in for dinner following an afternoon shopping. The restaurant was lovely and clean as always. It was quite quiet so we managed to get a booth. All the staff including the chefs let on to us which was nice. The waiter was knowledgeable and friendly- recommending a few tasty appetisers at our request. We had salty edamame beans - always a winner! A cauliflower dish and greens and a couple of fiery noodle dishes. Thoroughly enjoyable!

Belated Birthday lunch for my daughters birthday. Lovely FOH staff. We weren't rushed. Very casual. Food was excellent. Squid in particular was better than has been before. And despite our most amusing waiter telling us the Yuzu cheesecake has no place on a menu I opted for this for the second time in a week. I respect his opinion but think his opinion is flawed ! I really enjoyed it especially the sauce it came with it's to die for next time I might just order desserts . Hence ordering it for a second time. I had a voucher for a free main course as well and this was honoured so even better value for money than usual. We will definitely be back very soon.

This is the second time I’ve been to this restaurant. I actually had the same waiter and he’s fabulous. The food is fabulous .I just love coming to Manchester to go to this restaurant. I’m really fussy. The food is just perfection. I had a glass of white wine, it was lovely ,just house wine. And tap water which came in a lovely glass with loads of ice. I was in a rush , they accommodated me. I cannot praise this restaurant highly enough. I don’t know if every restaurant in the chain is this good but this one at St Peter’s square Manchester is brilliant.

It was delicious. There are gluten-free dishes on the menu. Green tea was free. My husband liked the fish curry and the tofu hoiza. Friendly staff.

I was very excited to go to wagamamas for the first time and taste the ramen they do. Was extremely disappointed with pretty much everything. We sat at a table that wasn't set, and the whole room was like a communal college cafeteria. Atmosphere is crap, the whole place is pretty depressing due to the seating arrangement. We were placed at the end of a very long bench, considering we were a party of 2 only. Service was heavily rushed with no proper explanation. There is no explanation on how to pay. They ask about allergies and then ask if you've been before. We said no, and the waitress reeled off a paragraph so quickly I couldn't understand, then quickly left. Ordered a strawberry mojito, tasted awful not representative of a mojito at all. Ordered beef brisket bao buns, which were cold. Ordered pork ramen for myself and a beef brisket ramen for my partner. He seemed to enjoy his. Mine was very bland, and half of the ingredients were added cold, like the egg and veggies. So it turned the whole bowl into a luke warm bowl of broth. Seems like a very busy place, hence the setup for service, but definitely not my cup of tea. If I'm going for ramen, it will be to a smaller establishment. Everything about the visit was very disappointing and I was very excited to try this restaurant. Basically, wagamamas is a fast food Asian restaurant. For £50 for 2 meals, a side, and 1 drink, I will not be coming back at all.

Amazing food , great staff who you can tell get on well with each other , which creates a great atmosphere. Shared the Duck Bao Buns and Chilli Squid for starters which highly recommend. Firecracker Chicken main was top notch and extra spicy, we also got Chicken breast Ramen Bowl, was huge and had a good mix of flavors.

Amazing as always, food was hot and fresh, my favourite branch in Manchester. Had a queue out the door but the staff i think it was Chris gave updates on waiting for a table and it moved faster than they predicted. Gave a friendly and welcoming environment from all the staff. We were served by Blake who was bubbly, energetic, very attentive and patient, helped decide on the food and let us swap to rice noodles for the Ramen 🍜. I really enjoyed the Vegan Kdogs and new dessert! Couldn't have asked for better service and meal. Thank you to all involved I would definitely recommend this restaurant. ⭐ ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Great spot in a center of Manchester. We never book but always get seated without any trouble. The food is lovely, served quickly and reasonably priced. I have a food allergy and the staff are always really helpful with navigating the menu.

Once again the staff at St Peter’s square wagas have out done themselves. Having kept a full restaurant fed and happy all day they continue to keep beautiful smiles on their faces and look after every new and regular customer incredibly. And the food…chefs kiss!

Excellent service from staff even with a full house nothing was an issue all very friendly, food was great and white chocolate cheesecake is a must! Free green tea is always a bonus at this chain.

The manager, however, was kind and listened to my concerns.

Brilliant customer service. We arrived late on a Friday night after a delayed landing at the airport. Not once were we (or couple of tables arriving after us) made feel unwelcome. The manager Alex (?) was absolutely amazing, she made sure our allergies were catered for, kind and going the extra mile. Genuinely have no clue when was the last time we received this level of attentive customer service.

During our recent visit to Wagamama in Manchester, we were absolutely blown away by the exceptional service provided by Mai. While the food itself was brilliant, it was Mai's outstanding hospitality that truly made our dining experience unforgettable. Mai was a phenomenal host, displaying a remarkable ability to read the room and understand exactly what we desired from a server. Her delightful and humorous attitude added an extra layer of enjoyment to our meal, and it was clear that she is a true ambassador for the company. Mai's service surpassed our expectations and truly enhanced our visit to Wagamama. She should be commended for her outstanding professionalism and dedication to providing an exceptional customer experience. I wanted to visit here for quite some time and finally did it. It's a nice chilled place. You can watch the chefs cook your meal as it's a live kitchen and fresh food concept. Tried the following dishes : Spicy miso mackerel - Mackerel fillets glazed with a spicy kimchi + miso sauce, served on kimchi fried brown rice, sweet potato, tenderstem broccoli, bok choy and shitake mushrooms, topped with Red chillies, fresh ginger and coriander cress. Crispy chilli mushrooms - coated + fried crunchy oyster mushrooms, dusted with red pepper powder, served with a chilli plus coriander dipping sauce. Vegan k dogs - two vegan corn dogs made from soy protein and coated in a crunchy noodle crumb, drizzled with turmeric vegan Mayo + sriracha topped with chili and coriander. Koko Panko Chicken - Crispy plus zesty panko coated chicken, tossed in a coconut chili and lime salt rub served with a side of sriracha vegan Mayo.

Excellent service, good atmosphere, smiling waitress, the food was good and it was a pleasant time. My friends and I really liked it.

Nice place for a "quick meal" decent ramen and friendly personnel. Juices are freshly made, it's a good place for a fast meal. Cocktails also seemed quiet nice

long time user of wagas … used for years .. was a great place to get some quick food and not wait to long with reasonable prices … well that has certainly changed prices are through the roof for pretty average food .. wont be back after using for over 10 years on and off prices no longer on menu and you’ll find out why if you eat there … pretty average place and food certainly not worth the ridiculously over inflated prices .. one customer lost .. sure i wont be the only one .. Good food but servers a bit rude

Around 3pm on a Sunday was the perfect time for my friends and I to grab a late lunch- plenty of tables going! I went for Salmon Teriyaki Soba (without the coriander topping) and a side of kimchi. It was a hearty, healthy meal served so quickly! While I wasn’t keen on the spiciness of the kimchi, the clue was in the description.

Food was very tasty. Friendly, efficient service. Although it was relatively quiet when we arrived at lunchtime it soon filled up and became quite noisy.

Visited on a Wednesday evening and it was great. I had the duck gyozas and the chicken gyoza ramen and both were fresh and tasted amazing. We were seated immediately even though the restaurant was very busy and our order was taken as soon as we were ready. The food came out very quickly and staff were attentive. When coming to pay I used a gift card I had received but there was an issues and staff were unsure how to use it. In the end we figured it out and there were no further issues. Overall we had a great time.

It was Ok, but not like a restaurant experience. Food was ok. I had ramen, not the best one I’ve every had and I think it’s overpriced. The service was almost nonexistent. Yes, a grumpy waiter took our food order and someone else brought the food to our table and that’ll be it. Not once anyone checked on us, asked if we wanted dessert or offered us the bill. They now have these QR codes to pay the bill, but personally I won’t every be using that. Extra work on my side, sorry I don’t work there. Not service charge was left as no proper service was given. Won’t be back.

Ashley was amazing, she was so accommodating. Constantly checking in and asking if we were okay and just such good vibes. A great server, will be coming again!

It may not be the most authentic Asian food, but that doesn't stop it from being great food.

I’ve got high standards because I have a lot of experience with Wagamama. Lina is an amazing server, friendly, attentive, and really makes you feel at ease. Someone better snap her up for management because I would absolutely snap her up for my business if you don’t. Service always makes the experience at Waga, and the staff at St Petey Square are always on point.

This is my third time at the St Peter’s square wagamama and I can’t forget the amazing service, smiley face and the going above and beyond attitude from Oonagh! From my observation this is how she treats everyone! Thank you Oonagh for making each trip so pleasant! :) x

We'd hoped to have good conversation but it was noisy and crowded (Sunday). I'd recommended the vegan food, but distressed to find out about the salmon served that is farmed, and being fed on fish from West Africa, having a devastating effect on the communities and sea there

My son went for his birthday and had some chicken curry dish which gave him terrible diarrhoea! He was on off the loo the next 24 hours ! He had nothing else to eat and can only be from this place

I absolutely love it the food is delicious and everything is so nice! The service is great! You also get a nice starter drink if you want! But first of all I just want to say WELL DONE✨✨!!
