Wagamama in Manchester

Wonderful meal at @wagamama_uk in Manchester, always a fun visit!

We were a party of two and once arrived we waited for around 20 minutes while there were plenty of empty tables on top of that a lady politely enquired about the the waiting were the server told her and I quote “you can leave the line if you want” although the food was good once we were seated my I waited for around five minutes after my partner received her food, the only redeeming qualities was one of the servers who was very nice while I ordered the dessert.

Yesterday I’d had such an awful day, and was down to my last pennies, and as I’d not eaten all day and knew I had a busy night ahead of me, I figured I’d treat myself to my favourite food over a Greggs slice of pizza. It was a mental health splurge. The staff were just angels sent from heaven. Megan the manager let me vent about my awful day and was really motivational and brought me the loveliest peach iced tea I’ve ever had, and later one of the other staff members (I didn’t catch her name but her eyelashes were stunning!) gave me a voucher for my next visit. I wept happy tears, hugged them both, and left feeling like there were incredible people in the world. I’ve been to Wagamama many times in my life, even worked for them at a time, but never have I had such wonderful service, they really took the time to make me feel better about myself, they didn’t need to, but they did, I’m tearing up thinking about it because I honestly owe those ladies so much! I wish them nothing but a lifetime of hefty tips, pleasant customers and always having a cool side of the pillow! I wish I could have tipped more because they truly made my absolute year!

I have eaten at this restaurant chain several times and have been impressed every time. The food is very tasty. I can recommend the ramen and cherry blossom lemonade.

Excellent starter of Lollipop Prawns (Prawn Kushiyaki) and a very good Thai Beef Salad, the steak was a perfect medium rare but just tell your server if you want it cooked differently. I still cannot come to terms with a 750ml bottle of still water but that's just Wagamama 😅

Told to stand outside in the cold and wait to be served. Waitress rattled of something about paying by qr code which was a struggle to load and when it did the table number didn't work.. staff make zero effort. Gave up and left, not good enough.

I love Wagamama, and now I’ve converted my girlfriend, who had never eaten here before. The speed at which the food comes is amazing. And it’s always top quality. I also love the fresh juices they sell. Top marks for this branch.

The food was not cooked noodles was like rubber and Raman was teastless. Food was cold when delivered the meal was unedable what a waste of money.

Review for Wagamama (St Peter’s St) I really wish I had read the reviews before ordering from the St Peter’s Square Wagamama. I ordered three Yasai Katsu curries, and they were disappointing, burnt on the outside yet somehow undercooked inside. Definitely not the standard I’m used to from Wagamama. I’ll be sticking to the Spinningfields and Parrs Wood locations, where the food is consistently much better.

Good food, friendly staff but service was a bit slow. Obviously gets very busy due to location but on the whole a good experience

First time in Wagamama. Service and food was excellent. Very helpful and accommodating to my needs . Mai our wonderful server. Went above and beyond to help our time very memorable.

Extremely disappointed with the Ramen and dumplings. The noodles were very soggy, the broth was very watery and almost flavorless, the meat was meh. The dough in the duck dumpling was stale, the only thing that was halfway decent was the pork dumplings. Last but certainly not least, this place has very poor hygiene. Some menus are dirty splattered with sauces, and the person who brings your food also cleans out your table and everyone else's table... When servers bring your drinks they are sticking their fingers in it. I can't believe they think this is acceptable.

We had a lovely experience , will definitely be back to this branch. Eric was wonderful , friendly and helpful . The food was fresh and tasted lush 🤤 None alcoholic drinks range is great, the flavour and combinations are very different 😋

Not the best Wagamama and a bit of a grumpy server, food was good but my steak meal was a bit overcooked and the duck Gyoza seemed oven baked, which I wasn't expecting.

Ordered my fav dish, chicken prawns yaki soba, and it came with almost no protein as it normally would. When I complained they said that was the normal portion as they weighted the protein... I only complained because it wasn't the standard as I'd normally get. Used to be better, unfortunately.

Nice place, lot's of tables. Conveniently and centrally located. This one is just around the corner. Nice atmosphere and friendly service. Food is always nice at Wagamama.

Everything was great. I went on a Friday evening and it was quite busy but got sat down as soon as a table came up. Uma (I hope I’m spelling this right) was particularly bright and positive but everyone on shift today was without fault :)

We had an amazing meal at Wagamama's on Peter's Square. Our server Andrea was so funny, helpful and attentive. We had the best chat with her, and the food and cocktails were absolutely delicious! Would highly recommend the Strawberry Mojito and bao buns! Thanks for a lovely meal and experience Andrea, and the staff at Wagamama!

The ramen with pork soup I had was not delivered as expected. The noodle is sticky and the soup does not have pork favour. If you expect a real Asian cusine, this is not the right choice. To be fair, I think their healthy drinks such as the beetroot drink is great.

had a lovely time today at wagamama st peter’s! rosie was brilliant!!!! they introduced themselves to us and was pleasantly affable throughout our experience :) the only negative i would say is the koko prawn crackers were overcooked and lacked seasoning but other than that everything was brilliant!! great vibe and wonderful experience,, will be coming back next time i’m in manchester!

If you’re looking for a comfortable dining experience with decent customer service, avoid Wagamama in St Peter’s. We were seated at a table that was horribly uncomfortable and causing back pain. When we politely requested to be moved, the staff bluntly refused, showing zero empathy or flexibility. It was clear they didn’t care about our comfort or experience, so we ended up leaving instead of suffering through an entire meal. The lack of basic customer service here is shocking. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone – there are plenty of other restaurants in Manchester that actually value their customers. Save yourself the trouble and take your business elsewhere.

Muy mala experiencia y mal servicio por parte del personal de Wagamama, por desgracia. Puse un pedido en línea para la recogida y el sitio web me dio un tiempo de recogida de 17. 40 . Cuando llegué en ese momento, un miembro del personal (sin pedir detalles) me dijo que mi pedido no estaba listo. La razón dada fue que el tiempo de recogida es el tiempo que el pedido se envía a la cocina. Puedo aceptar un breve retraso, siempre y cuando esté claro todo el tiempo. Esperé 15 minutos y me preguntaron dos veces si quería cubiertos y confirmaron dos veces que sí, quería cubiertos. Entonces me dieron lo que pensé que era mi orden. Cuando regresé, la comida era completamente diferente de lo que pedí y no había cubiertos. En ese momento, estaba demasiado lejos para volver. No tenía forma de comer la comida que no pedí.

Always wanted to try Wagamama, today I did. The young lady who greeted me quickly found me a table. James introduced himself, he was very friendly, took the time to ask about me. Very efficient. I ordered the Chicken Katsu, absolutely delicious 😋 for dessert white chocolate and ginger Cheesecake 😋 I will return

STAFF ISSUE: read till the end. The prawn ‘firecracker’ curry was very good. The coconut ice-cream was above average but a little disappointing. The table staff were lovely but the guy that served the food to the table had the WORST attitude we could have imagined. He left us lost for words and we discussed getting up and leaving. That person has had zero hospitality training and seems to think he can bring his bad mood to work and serve paying customers. We shall not be returning. Sadly this employee has let down our whole experience and also let down your good name.

Had a delicious meal here earlier this week. There was a queue for tables but it moved quickly. The staff were exceptional and recognised that I was visually impaired and provide a large print menu and magnifier for which I was so grateful. The food arrived quickly and was really tasty. Thank you for taking care of me.

They were very keen on working with my son's allergies which is always a huge help for us. Good selection of food. I loved my smoky chocolate cake dessert. My son enjoyed his cherry blossom cocktail.

Never ever had a bad experience at Wags; 10 minutes, well "patrolled" waiting queue. Wait was less than said. Food, as usual was excellent. Not super cheap.

The food was horrible. I ordered some noodles and it didn't taste like anything. No taste at all. The restaurant is far too cramped and the staff take a really long time to go to you. Horrible restaurant, I don't recommend it!

It's an alright place to go to have Asian-oriented food, but it's nothing special in my opinion.

We turned up and waited in the foyer as you can't book, I wasn't keen but the waitress was really organised and gave us menus and TBF it's not the sort of place you spend hours over a meal so we were seated very quickly. We were seated on bench seats again not Keen but there was enough room between other parties not to feel cramped in, our order was taken quickly and our table number scribbled on a paper place mat with a qr code to pay, what we ordered was also scribbled on the mat so the guy bringing the meals knew who was having what. The food was really nice and well cooked and well presented. The firecracker curry was a bit too hot but the name gives it away so my issue I guess because it was delicious if you could handle it. The only problem I have is that the waitress said they were starting a new menu tomorrow so had no wine at all, one lager and she had to ask about that because she wasn't sure there was any and quite a bit of other stuff that never affected us I think that is dreadful what a shame because everything else was great.

If you want to hold back your belly, I will hold it back for you.

Wagamamas is not my go to at all but my daughter and her friend wanted to go here. Not going to lie, the food was excellent and insanely tastes. Service was rapid.

Great food. Very nice atmosphere. It's just opposite the tram stop so easy to stop off, grab a bit and then head back to sightseeing/shopping.

Came here for lunch and was undecided what to order, it all looked so good. The waitress, Daisy, asked what flavours I liked after which she recommended the curry pictured. It was fabulous! Thank you Daisy!!

The restaurant was really busy and music was loud. We had to wait a while to be seated, but once we had a table, the service was really quick. Food was amazing.

Just had dinner here and couldn’t recommend the place enough. We had seats overlooking the kitchen where we could see everything that was being cooked. The chefs were a joy to watch and it was great to see how they worked as a team. The food was fresh and tasty and each of the staff that we spoke to took the time to chat with us making the whole experience much more than just another meal out. Well done to the manager and her team and thanks to everyone . We’ll be back!

Amazing staff! Amazing Food! Amazing Atmosphere! 10/10!

On a recent 4 day city break to Manchester last week with my Dutch friend, we ate at Wagamama (twice!). We loved it so much the first time, we went back again. This was because we’d had the most delicious, fresh and tasty food and we’d met the most wonderful staff. They were all so friendly and one guy Kai remembered us from the last visit and made us feel so very welcome again! I’d highly recommend Wagamama of St Peter’s Square in Manchester for extremely tasty food, really good value and very friendly staff too - winner winner! 😍😎❤️🤗

Nice location and atmosphere with friendly staff. Had chicken firecracker. Don’t remember it being that expensive. City centre pricing I guess. Meal was okay. Played spot the chicken for a while as there wasn’t that much of it. Also lacking a bit in sauce and the chicken didn’t appear to be marinated in the sauce as it lost its taste as soon as I bit into it. Overall meal was okay but location and staff very good.

I’ve visited this wagas a few times and never had a bad meal. This visit was no exception. My cousin and I popped in for dinner following an afternoon shopping. The restaurant was lovely and clean as always. It was quite quiet so we managed to get a booth. All the staff including the chefs let on to us which was nice. The waiter was knowledgeable and friendly- recommending a few tasty appetisers at our request. We had salty edamame beans - always a winner! A cauliflower dish and greens and a couple of fiery noodle dishes. Thoroughly enjoyable!

Belated Birthday lunch for my daughters birthday. Lovely FOH staff. We weren't rushed. Very casual. Food was excellent. Squid in particular was better than has been before. And despite our most amusing waiter telling us the Yuzu cheesecake has no place on a menu I opted for this for the second time in a week. I respect his opinion but think his opinion is flawed ! I really enjoyed it especially the sauce it came with it's to die for next time I might just order desserts . Hence ordering it for a second time. I had a voucher for a free main course as well and this was honoured so even better value for money than usual. We will definitely be back very soon.

This is the second time I’ve been to this restaurant. I actually had the same waiter and he’s fabulous. The food is fabulous .I just love coming to Manchester to go to this restaurant. I’m really fussy. The food is just perfection. I had a glass of white wine, it was lovely ,just house wine. And tap water which came in a lovely glass with loads of ice. I was in a rush , they accommodated me. I cannot praise this restaurant highly enough. I don’t know if every restaurant in the chain is this good but this one at St Peter’s square Manchester is brilliant.

It was delicious. There are gluten-free dishes on the menu. Green tea was free. My husband liked the fish curry and the tofu hoiza. Friendly staff.

I was very excited to go to wagamamas for the first time and taste the ramen they do. Was extremely disappointed with pretty much everything. We sat at a table that wasn't set, and the whole room was like a communal college cafeteria. Atmosphere is crap, the whole place is pretty depressing due to the seating arrangement. We were placed at the end of a very long bench, considering we were a party of 2 only. Service was heavily rushed with no proper explanation. There is no explanation on how to pay. They ask about allergies and then ask if you've been before. We said no, and the waitress reeled off a paragraph so quickly I couldn't understand, then quickly left. Ordered a strawberry mojito, tasted awful not representative of a mojito at all. Ordered beef brisket bao buns, which were cold. Ordered pork ramen for myself and a beef brisket ramen for my partner. He seemed to enjoy his. Mine was very bland, and half of the ingredients were added cold, like the egg and veggies. So it turned the whole bowl into a luke warm bowl of broth. Seems like a very busy place, hence the setup for service, but definitely not my cup of tea. If I'm going for ramen, it will be to a smaller establishment. Everything about the visit was very disappointing and I was very excited to try this restaurant. Basically, wagamamas is a fast food Asian restaurant. For £50 for 2 meals, a side, and 1 drink, I will not be coming back at all.

Amazing food , great staff who you can tell get on well with each other , which creates a great atmosphere. Shared the Duck Bao Buns and Chilli Squid for starters which highly recommend. Firecracker Chicken main was top notch and extra spicy, we also got Chicken breast Ramen Bowl, was huge and had a good mix of flavors.
