Me and my partner been here many times for years but this time the ramen had little to no taste. Also the side of pork was chewy and dry normally it melts in your mouth. Was so disappointed because this was my birthday meal and one of my favourite places in manchester. Wasnt offerd any discount and was looked at clueless. I was suggested to have a replacement and it was pretty much the same. I feel kinda conned. I also noticed the microwave was pinging alot when we was in there which wasnt normal ethier... Time to look for a nice ramen place.

Small restaurant located in Piccadilly Gardens , I have been here already a couple times and it has always been fantastic, but today i came with my family without a booking (7 of us) despite being full the restaurant, Gianluca welcomed us and made everything possible to find a table for us !! Super friendly and professional, he took care of us ,he was very patient and he explained all the offers available plus he speaks Italian and Spanish which it was really helpful, and my family really appreciated. Food was delicious too!! Thank you so much for the amazing experience!!

We ordered total of 2 bowls of ramen with a dessert afterwards which costed us 40£. On top of that the waitress added service charge (4£) to the bill without even asking!!!! The garlic press had bits of garlic that has gone bad long time ago which had to be changed by the waitress. Dishes are small and very expensive. Do not recommend.

Authentic Japanese food experience. Loved the interior which gave a calm and relaxing vibe. Staff were fast and efficient. Tried the Octopus balls and chicken as appetisers which were both great. The Ramen dishes were also amazing and also very filling. Both indoor and outdoor seating available. Would visit again within a doubt.

Me and my friend who don't get to see each other often we're excited for our day out in Manchester and for them to take me to a restaurant that they remembered being some of the best kastu curry they'd found, and a really nice atmosphere where you are greeted on the way in. So I was excited. Me and my friend are into a lot of fashion, so we like to do makeup and dress up a bit interesting on our days out, but nothing insane, just bright colours and for me I'm a little more gothic, just some white and graphic liner, which I didn't think would be a problem. We waited outside where it said to for about five minutes with staff inside seeing us and ignoring us. Thinking maybe we were a bit young, we decided to step inside to show that we wanted to be seated. We again stood there for some time, confused as to why this pretty calm and not busy restaurant would not take us to a table. One of the chefs was pointing to the bar staff and waiters to come sit us but they said no, embarrassed and went into the back, so the chef had to tell us we could sit at a table that did not have any cutlery or napkins. No one came up to take our order, which we saw they did for other tables, and luckily there was the option of QR code so we got to order. The staff who came over seemed embarrassed to do their job. The manager was the one who brought over our food, where they asked how things were, and I explained that we've been ignored by the other staff. The manager and chef that seated us were nice, but everyone else was a little rude. The food was very nice, and a good portion size, it was annoying to see other guests greeted while we still didn't have napkins. There is also a mandatory 10% service charge. A little disappointing that we were treated differently because of how we looked when we just wanted to have some fun.

Is it normal? Okey then I ask about how much time I need to wait for my food they said 10 minutes I said okey and then I see my food curry with prawn’s is really good but ramen is spicy? I said to do it not spicy and it’s spicy. So I don’t write more because it’s really long history but this service is really bad

It gets very busy at lunchtime so best to make a reservation. The lunch deal is a starter, ramen and drink for £20. But then ramen is cheaper between 3 and 5 when it's quieter. The pumpkin bao and veg white ramen was tasty. They add a service charge automatically at the end. The deal of the day on Tuesday didn't include a veg option

The food is great, the broths are incredibly rich, only drawback is a lot of the meats are separately cooked and stored and then dropped on top while plating up which i could tell as a lot of the time if meat is sticking out the non-submerged end is cold. But i don't mind that. Atmosphere is great, the drum entrance when you're seated is very cool. Only drawback is the service. It's always really slow, I've been several times with my partner, we only order 1 drink, 1 starter and 1 main each, and yet we've never been in and out in less than an hour and a half. There's just too many tables in the small unit so everything is quite slow, and then putting 10% service on top of your bill feels like a kick in the teeth. I've been a few times, it's worth checking out once, but I'm not in a rush to go back any time soon, unless they take away a couple tables to speed up the process.

The specialty is ramen, very delicious although in the end the spiciness tires you out and takes away the flavor of the rest. Very good recommendation and help from the Italian waiter. Very nice The starter was delicious crispy chicken with a super good sauce that he also recommended to us. The menu included a very delicious, slightly spicy drink. Good price We had looked for it but what decided us was that it was practically full of Japanese people so it has to be good.

It was okay… Central location, good atmosphere and service but the food lacked depth of flavour. We ordered two ramen dishes. The noodles had a good texture and were well cooked but could have been more flavourful. The same can be said for the broth; it was good but not amazing. The Karaka Tan Tan Tonkotsu needed some more salt to help enhance some of the good flavours in the dish, and the broth should have been cooked for longer to allow the flavours to develop. The Piri Piri Tonkotsu lacked depth, it had an overpowering flavour of chili peppers so some of the bone broth flavour was lost. There are certainly better ramen bowls in Manchester with more affordable prices.

Today I went to Shoryu Ramen to have dinner with my boyfriend. We arrived around 9:00 pm and ordered 1 ramen, 1 bun, and 1 takoyaki. The total price was 34.82 pounds. However, after around 25 minutes passed, my order was still not served, and no one came to ask. On top of that, I saw the 1 table behind us; they came later and got their food before us, so I asked some waitress, and they told me that they have some missed communication. We have decided to not wait and ask for a refund. And I need to wait for 20 minutes for them to process the refund for us, and they also told us that we need to wait for 72 hours to get the money back. So today we wait around 40-45 minutes for nothing. Very bad experience for today.

We ended up sitting outside looking into Piccadilly Gardens, as inside the restaurant was very crowded. We ordered boa buns to begin, which were very forgettable and didn't have much in them. For mains, we had katsu curry ramen, which was nice, but given the total price, this did not hit the expectations. Overall, it was okay, but I probably won't be visiting again.

I had to wait quite some time to be seated, as the 2 servers just looked at me and moved elsewhere. I was finally seated outside. I once again had to wait some time for my order to be taken. I had the Soba iced tea which was lovely, even though I had to ask for it twice. I also had the Ganso Curry, which looked nice, but was pretty bland, with very overcooked meat. I decided to have the chicken katsu curry ramen, and my partner had the pork ramen. Our food arrived pretty quickly, and we were surprised by how big a bowl full of food we got for the price! The taste was incredible, so jam packed with flavour! We also decided to get mochi ice cream. I opted for sesame mochi, and matcha mochi. My partner opted for chocolate mochi. We both enjoyed these, but think the sesame one was the nicest. Slightly pricey for what you get, but we're glad we tried it and didn't opt for more as we were very full. Very pleased we came here. Had lunch with a friend here the other day. We met at Picadilly Gardens and didn't want to walk anywhere so we decided to go to SR. Its located on the NE edge of Picadilly Gardens behind the bus depot. I know it doesn't sound great but it's a smart enough looking place. We sat outside as it was a nice day...they have maybe 8 tables on a small terrace area. My friend ordered a bowl of ramen and a pork belly bao bun and said he really enjoyed the noodle soup. I didn't get ramen...instead I ordered a few of their small dishes - chicken teriyaki, chicken kara-age (Japanese fried chicken), pork belly bao, chicken gyoza and a cucumber salad. I also got a small bottle of still water and a coke zero. The thing that struck me first was that they charged nearly £4 for the coke...which was a small bottle!!! Anyway...to the food...the both the yakitori and kara-age were very good. The fried chicken had a lovely crispy batter and the yakitori was grilled to.perfection with a tasty sauce on top (although there could have been a bit more!). Unfortunately the pork belly bao was really quite poor. The pork itself was soft but it lacked any real flavour...and they left on the top layer of skin on the belly which is not pleasant to eat when you braise the meat....its all fat and chewy collagen! The bao itself was soft but it wasn't a great dish. The chicken gyoza was equally poor. They were served on a hot cast iron skillet but they were completely stuck to the pan which meant that they were almost impossible to remove! In the end I managed to do it by scraping a knife along the undersides of the gyoza...but all of them tore apart and I burnt my hand on the skillet handle more than once... What made it worse was that the gyozas themselves were completely bland in taste! I ended up spending over £50 on my food which I think is too high for what I ate. However I do think the ramen is what they do best...so if you visit...order that!

The experience was amazing. The restaurant manager was so warm funny and attentive to our requests, the servers, bar tender and chefs were perfect. Even the trainee server was a pro, she was very kind and sweet! really really enjoyed the food, drink everything!!! Will recommend a thousand times and the prices are within range.

Japanese pork bone ramen. Shoryu ramen that you probably won't eat in Japan! But in England you can eat it. . That being said, it's delicious. However, the lukewarm soup, which is aimed at foreigners, may be a bit of a nuisance at times. I want to fufu and eat it, but I can't. When it's crowded, the service can be extremely slow and poor, so if you arrive early, you won't have any problems. The manager and assistant manager of this store are extremely kind and provide excellent customer service. You can add a service fee tip at checkout.

The taste is really bland and not memorable. The seafood ramen is good and rich in ingredients, but the barbecued pork is a bit dumbfounding. Five long pieces of thin meat, only two centimeters wide, are very empty.

Popped in for bao buns , advertised all over the shop .. had high hopes what a total waste of money at £5 a bun!! , worst bao weve ever eaten. Flavourless. Slice of cucumber and iceberg lettuce really disappointing. Buns were just like some frozen ones. Disappointing won't recommended or go back

I got a take away yesterday. Not sure if the one I chose wasn't the right choice or it just tastes that way. The portion was too small for the price they charge. Don't think I would visit again.

The food was really good, the ramen broth is one of the better ones I’ve had outside of Japan. The flavour balance in particular, was impressive considering it’s a chain restaurant. Also had a cocktail, which was decent. The service was poor overall. Other people who arrived after us were served before and when we pointed out that it had been half and hour, the waiter went away to check and then came back with the food 5 minutes later to point out it was 25 minutes, in a very “let’s set the record straight” tone, which was totally unnecessary. We were the second customers of the day. Then they chucked on an assumptive 10% service charge which was unwarranted, specially in light of the bad service. Charged 3.5 quid for some wafer thin slices of extra pork, felt like a rip off. Mochi ice cream balls at the end are store bought. Gave us a loyalty card, which I won’t use for sure. Fix up, guys!

Beautiful Ramen, some of the best I’ve had. I had the spicy ramen with ground pork and my wife had the chicken katsu ramen. Both were absolutely delicious. I will definitely be back! Staff were really friendly and helpful too.

Hi, I was hoping for at least normal restaurant quality ramen(Shoryu ganso tonkotsu). How wrong I could be... to be honest I'm doing better ramen and I'm nowhere near Japanese cooking skills. Broth complete lack of depth, I can guess you used only one type of meat, bones.. Pork? Am I right? Noodles not a great spaghetti type of very starchy noodles. The best part of your ramen was the egg, not overcooked. Dumplings... again lack of flavour, lack of salt, and only strong burnt taste dominating. Honestly I don't know how you got so many good reviews. It's your friends? Or over 2k ppl doesn't have a taste buds. Food presentation was good but nothing else what would make me to go back to your establishment. Or maybe ramen master chief had bad day and I was out of luck. Small hint... maybe a dash of MSG would help 😀

The taste is so delicious. Considering the low yen, I can't help but feel that the price is a little strange. I enjoyed the atmosphere itself, especially when a mysterious drum was played as I entered the store.

Disappointing evening. The service was good and atmosphere of the place was nice but the food was average at best. We had such high hopes as the menu reads like a dream but had to send back a couple of dishes for being undercooked. In my opinion it's overpriced for what we received

Food was ok but SO NOT WORTH the wait. We waited over 1h and 20minutes for a simple brunch order. The worst part was the staff was totally unbothered by our and other tables’ frustration and they were just casually hanging out together. They also seemed annoyed by everything we asked and did not even apologize for the long wait

I didn’t eat in but the establishment looked very clean, nice and tidy! The girl that served me was so so so sweet, I asked her for her suggestion / favourite meal & if she could make it exactly how she would eat it (as a fellow hospo worker, I often hate these questions so I was prepared for any reaction) and she made it with a smile!! I’m sorry I didn’t get your name but you’re a credit to the team! & Thanks for the katsu-teriyaki salmon bowl lol xx
