I have visited Tafarn Tryfan a few times now while having a couple of early spring walking breaks in the area. Each time I have received a really friendly welcome from the owners and staff. The beer choice is really good (even better in the summer season I believe) plus the food is great. I really enjoyed the steak and ale pie! Looking forward to visiting again next time I'm in the area.

We had a lovely dinner and drinks at around 3pm in a Saturday. The owner was friendly and despite it being him serving at the bar and cooking meals for three tables, he managed it brilliantly and with a smile. Will return when we are in the are. Best pub in the village!

Tafarn Tryfan Inn is the new name for this place. It was lovely and relaxed, service was friendly and everything is kept very clean. Lots of people were in just finishing Sunday dinner when we arrived and a few little groups having a chat over a drink. Despite food taking a while (we’d just missed the kitchens apparently), we were able to fully relax and enjoy ourselves as a family.

Friendly and smart pub, clean and bright interior, family and (well behaved) dog friendly, helpful and efficient barmaid, slightly expensive food, let down by the fish cakes and chicken nuggets which were so hard that they were inedible. Unfortunately no real ale despite the presence of two handpumps. However, we could not fault the welcome or service.

Hate writing bad reviews but i feel like i should on this one. Went out for food here with friends and my partner which was pregnant. I ended up getting real bad food poisoning from the veggie curry here, must have been reheated rice or something. I missed a days work after, was horrible. Just thankful that it was me that had the food poisoning not my partner as it could have been very dangerous.

As per previous poster, we went here for our wedding anniversary on 9th September. They were open and serving meals but they only had red wine which I cant drink so I had gin and tonic, only slimline available which kills Bombay Sapphire, and the menu was very limited. Food was Ok but we might just as well have gone to Wetherspoons. Obviously some sort of financial difficulties. What a shame.

Visiting Wales as a family group of 13, booked a table at this really lovely place. When we arrived we were told that they only had one chef on so the would be a wait on the food .( they had tried to call us so we could pre order, but we’d missed the call). We ordered and were probably the last of the night to get served, but the atmosphere was lovely and the staff we so nice, it really didn’t matter. Food came, all fantastic, we met the chef on our way out, who looked absolutely shattered and was reluctant to take the tip we wanted him to have. Hope someone gives the chef a few days off soon , he looks like he needs it .

We have recently stayed in Bethesda and ate at Y Llangollen 5 out of 7 nights! The food and service were excellent, both in quality and value! We especially enjoyed the steak sizzlers! A 12oz sirloin steak, cooked to perfection, served on a bed of sizzling onion and mushrooms for £13.95 (I think!) - what more could you ask for?! The steak came topped with pepper sauce and this was really quite peppery, so after the first visit, we asked for it to be served on the side!

We booked a table on Sunday at 3:30pm as we weren't sure how busy it would be - It did happen to be quiet when we got there (they stop serving at 4). Decor was very nice with acoustic music playing. We decided to share a starter (fried Camembert) and have a main and dessert each. We wish we had got a starter each as it was lovely but not sharing size. My partner had lamb and I had beef - both were absolutely lovely and a large portion of meat (this did not comprise on the quality either)!! The mash potato was very creamy and veg was not overcooked. I am not usually a fan of Yorkshire puddings but even commented on how nice it was. We both had lemon cheesecake for dessert which had lemon sponge cake cubes on top with cream, raspberries and ice cream. A large slice of this each too. Neither of us could fault the meal at all and would happily have paid a lot more for what we received! If we didn't live 3 hours away we would go every Sunday.

I went to Y Llangollen on my own one evening (9.9.17) whilst staying in Bethesda. the staff were friendly. I tried the local real ale which was delicious, its a bitter which had sweet undertones. very nice. i had the steak and ale pie and apart from the crust which was rock hard (the chef apologised he was aware he'd cooked it poorly) the filling of steak was chunky and delicious with well presented and well cooked, not overcooked, veg. i had plenty of boiled new potatoes, with one piece of , broccoli and cauliflower (large pieces) green beans, and carrots and they were really nice. It was such a nice meal that I took two people back with me the next night and again we had delicious main courses. this time the chicken (moist not dry) , salmon and the burger. Apparently the chocolate fudge cake was also delicious and not a piece was left. the cheese course was ok but i've had better and wouldn't choose it again. The beer was so good on the first visit, we again had a couple of pints. all in all, good value for money. Main meals range from about £9 to about £13 with puddings about £2-4 range. Cheese course was about £7.50. Meals on other tables also looked as good as ours. I'd definitely go back if i was in Bethesda again. Our meal came to just under £62 for 3 of us and we'd had 3 mains, 1 pudding, 1 cheese course, 2 pints of real ale, a glass of wine and two after dinner drinks. Hope you enjoy your visit as much as we did. cheers! PS they were also very careful about checking IDs so if you're going with those in their late teens early 20s make sure you have ID. lovely clean place, nice ladies toilets.

For a birthday meal we decided to give llangoll a try after hearing many bad reviews from locals. We immediately regretted this choice! It was clear to the staff it was a special occasion as we had set up banners and balloons, sadly it was slightly ruined by the service we recieved that night. First of all there was many little errors such as: forgetting ice in drinks after asked mulitple times. Ruined the suprise cake we had for our friend by mentioning it at the table and there was also a problem with the lack of items available on the pizzas we had ordered. On a saturday night they should make sure they have the items on their menu. 45minutes after ordering our food the unapologetic server told us that there would be no pizzas as the pizza oven had broken. Waiting 45minutes for 5 pizzas was long enough, how they didnt know before that time that the pizza oven was broken is beyond me. If the server would have apologised properly and offered something on the house as an apology we would have been happy. However i had to ask to have some chips and garlic bread as we no longer had time to wait as we had a prior engagement. I should not have had to ask then to be given 2 undercooked bowls of chips and a revolting garlic pizza bread. After the bad service you would have thought they would have been more eager to please us. We waited 20minutes for the check afer asking twice realising they had taken no money off a £45 bill of drinks. I feel sorry for the young waiter that was the only one that was truly apologetic. Ruined the birthday and whole night for us as we then had to leave hungry!!

The rest of our party also had food of an equal standard. The service was great, polite friendly and professional who maintained this throughout the evening. The restaurant was very clean and hospitable. We will definately be going back there again. :)

We ate in here twice on a short break the food was excellent and the staff even better, so friendly. It does close early at 2030hrs but this may be cause it is early in the season. The pub next door which belongs to the restaurant as well was just as good with the same friendly staff both were very clean, bright and relaxing.

If ever you want a warm welcome and to experience true Welsh hospitality this is it! We were just driving through after having done a few errands elsewhere and fancied something to eat, from the outside it screamed comfort and style so we stopped.

We stopped here on satarday afternnon 7/1/17 on our way home,it was the best choice i have made regarding going for a meal the service was warm and friendly, the food was exellent cannot fault anything, all 5 of us had a different meal so to decide which was the best I cant it would be very wrong of me to point someone at a certain meal as the 5 was tip top.

On a recent visit to Barmouth we found this little Gem of a place that is open on Sundays. There was a special board out side and it was the Cheese and Onion pie that drew us in . Both my husband and me had this and it came with new potatoes and salad . It was delicious and very reasonably priced . We were naughty and were too tempted by the delicious homemade sweets and puds they had to offer . I had the jam and coconut cake and my husband opted for the apple pie. They were presented lovely with fruit and a pot of cream on the side. The staff were friendly and attentive. Will definitely be returning next time we are in Barmouth

Love this place, we come here regularly the food is really good and affordable, the head chef we met was really nice along with all the bar staff, very friendly. Food is very very good and even caters for Gluten Free. Well worth a visit and would definitely recommend.

This a great little watering hole in Criccieth. We are always made welcome and good range of beers and drinks with a great outdoor space too. We always end up chatting with fellow drinkers and learn so much about local events, nice walks and places to eat. A great pub in hear of community

Gorgeous spot for breakfast, lovely sunny seating right outside. The breakfasts we had were lovely, but the sausages could have been a slightly nicer quality. The eggs were cooked perfectly, which is a bit of a fine art! Will definitely return.

Lovely little dog friendly cafe in the heart of the village. Warm welcome by the host and his friendly staff. Typical Welsh weather and unfortunately the biffolding doors were closed in July however will visit again when the sun is out Diolch
