Went here for a couple of pints and took along my 2 staffies. Bar staff was very friendly and provided water for my dogs. Beer was decent and not overpriced neither. Was quiet but was early on and warm. Sat on the benches on the front taking in the rays

Nice comfortable feeling , two television's that show games like football, rugby and boxing and so on, I went there to watch the wales match the pints are very reasonable and the snacks are a little over priced the staff are lovely the people who hang out there are persistent so if your looking for a rough local this is your place, it also has a sheltered smoking garden.

está limpio y ordenado poco agradable pub, demasiado ruidoso debido a una discoteca en el fin de semana, pero por lo demás no está mal. Bueno Lagers pero necesita una ale adecuada en vez de cerveza Keg.

We have been to the Gwindy on several occasions and have found that the food and service there have been excellent and reliable on our every visit. Bar and waiting staff have been polite and professional towards myself and my family and the food there is delightful.

After searching long and hard to find a decent place to eat in north wales, we stumbled across Y Gwindy in Abergele, we were very surprised by the value for money we got, and also the level of service and portion sizes. Harry the chef recommended we have a authentic Scottish Stovie which was out of this world! Vegetables were cooked to perfection and seasoned perfectly! All the staff especially Sandra made us feel very welcome and made our meal there very enjoyable. Highly recommended to anyone that enjoys good quality, at reasonable prices.

Having eaten here a few times I have been extremely impressed with the food & had been meaning to write a review so ventured there once again last week.,As usual the service and price were good I had the cod on a bed of rice and spinach with curry sauce,The fish was cooked well & the dish would have been perfect, except. for my taste, there was far too much curry sauce. It smothered the fish , rice and spinach and resembled curry poured over a chippy tea by an over enthusiastic assistant ! It masked the rest of the flavours though.I will go back again , I probably wont have this dish ,however, if the sauce had been put in a little dish on the side or even was partly drizzled over the cod and more on the plate giving an option of dipping the rest of the food into it rather than fishing the food out of it then I m sure it would be a great dish .Don t let this put you off and give it a try as the menu is better than the usual pub grub chef is the best in Abergele and local area that s for sure. Went here last night with a friend who has coeliac. The menu was really good and the chef and staff were very well informed about the requirements of a person who has coeliac. We had starters and a main course- mushrooms and pate followed by cod with kedgeree and curry sauce, and chicken. The food was absolutely excellent, well cooked, well presented, clearly fresh and extremely tasty. The portions were very large, but we are sure that suits some people very well. Maybe it would be good to have a lighter bite selection?? Just a thought.... We didn't have puddings, but they sounded good! One thing that was very noticeable was how nice all the staff were. All really chatty and friendly. This is certainly the best place we have eaten in Abergele town. We would highly recommend it. The prices were good too!

This is our local and we eat here quite regularly. The garlic mushrooms are incredible, the portions are very generous and everything is freshly cooked. £ for £ this takes a lot of beating. Worth booking at the weekend - we are always very pleased with our meals.

Recommended by friends, who have eaten at various local pubs and rate this one the best. Cheerful welcome and attentive young staff. Excellent value for money. The food was served promptly and was freshly cooked with a good choice of vegetables. Good sized portions so no room for dessert. All in all everything that we had been promised and well worth a return visit.

The Gwindy is a bar restaurant, although the restaurant is small the quality of the food is excellent, the menues range from burgers to pheasant Wellington, the starters are huge, all the meat is sourced from the local high st butchers. After 8pm last orders the chef will come out from the kitchen to chat to remaining customers about his menu or what they thought of it, there is a hum of noise from the bar, but once you are served your food which is plentiful you soon discount the background noise. Well worth it.

We went here a week ago for dinner. Food was the best evening meal we've had in Abergele and fairly priced. Service was good. The problem?- the dining area is within a pub whose customers are it seems drunks, foul mouthed and aggressive to each other. Was the most uncomfortable evening out we could imagine, never again!

Visited here on our visit to Llandudno. We had coffee and cake. The cakes were delicious and a large portion. It’s a very clean cafe. The staff were very friendly. I would highly recommend this cafe. The other food looked very tasty too.

Visited on a Friday evening with Husband and two children. Food was reasonably priced, (fish and chips £10 on a Friday) lovely and all homemade, including the chicken nuggets. Jaffa cake Sundaes were lovely, although should come with a warning! They are huge and one is enough for at least two adults. Would've been nice to have a proper drinks menu with all the drinks they do. But overall great food and service, we will return.
