We stayed for one night in this guest house which had excellent reviews but we were deeply disappointed, the room was very cold and the radiator was off to keep warm we used a small electric heater which was in the wardrobe hoping it wouldn't cause a fire; we had asked to have dinner and we were asked to go strictly at 6.40pm and no later, the dinner was nothing exceptional except the price was too high and not proportionate, the owner didn't give us time to finish eating as it was already ready to take away our plate; the breakfast was poor and nothing exceptional. It certainly does not reflect the reviews made by other guests and of all the places where we stayed this was truly terrible.

Our host was strange, he didn't listen and made no apology for short comings. The room hadn't been cleaned properly, there was a fleece in the wardrobe and a bag of sweets in the bedside locker. Also a stain on the duvet cover. The plug in the wash basin didn't fit and the toilet seat was loose. The dining room needed a good dusting. Our supper was lovely although overpriced. Breakfast was small and only brown bread was used for toast. No apology for this, just 'this is the bread we use.' It looked lovely but I can't eat brown so no toast for me. Generally overpriced and claiming to be something that it's not. We left feeling dissatisfied and taken for a ride.

Had a great stay with our new rescue dog Luna, she is quite nervous but was made to feel so welcome and the owners went out of their way to make it so positive for her. The room was lovely and spacious, immaculately clean with great views. A very short walk to the beach and castle, would highly recommend!

We had a fabulous time here. We went with our dog but with or without a dog it is a great place to stay. The beach is beautiful, really clean soft white sand and very quiet and right across the road. Up the hill by the castle grounds is a lovely little village with all the shops, pubs etc that you could want. All in all our stay here was perfect, we hope to be back soon.

Lovely little hotel conveniently located 15 minutes walk away from Harlechs dog friendly beach. The owners made us and our dog very welcome. The bed was one of the most comfortable I have had in a hotel for quite a while. We ate in the restaurant and the food was excellent. Would stay again if I was in the area.

Very friendly small hotel with comfortable rooms in a beautiful location; mountains one way, beach the other and a castle thrown in for good measure.

Been going here for at least 10 years, quality of the food is always amazing, consistency is top notch with both food and sauce, and the staff are always so friendly!

From my first contact to request booking a table to the moment we left - the staff here are extremely helpful. It's a real authentic proper pub. Inside the decor and atmosphere is very cosy and friendly. Beautiful pub. The location is stunning - vast views over looking the mountains. They have a small campsite and also allow campervan stop overs. Some camping websites state that the pub is closed but this isnt true. Very much open with a cold pint waiting for you. Large beer garden to rear. The food is traditional pub food but done extremely well. Highly highly recommend the home made scotch eggs. It rarely happens but Vegetarian wife was spoilt for choice. Lots of options for veggies and vegans. Not a pretentious or complex menu. Just proper food done really well. So glad we visited and will 100% be back.

The staff are friendly the food is very good and good value for money. My wife and I occasionally try one of the other places to eat when we visit Porthmadog, but the Port Cafe is a place that we return to time after time. You of course have the added bonus of the Deli that sells all of the usual things as well as some of the pies and produce that you can eat in the restaurant. Thoroughly recommended.
