Only usually pop in for a hot chocolate and piece of cake/scone when visiting the garden centre or meeting up with friends. This place has always been overpriced in my opinion. The snacks foods and drinks are mostly ok, but seriously expensive for everything. Sorry.

Basically a horrific experience ! Popped in to buy few things but the place is an utter mess with no order nor USP. The food area in particular is dreadful. Over priced service station fodder served in an odd table service restaurant like area . Like it's the Ritz . Laughable really. Needs to be rebuilt and designed better and new team of buyers. I'm available for your consideration.

We live just walking distance from the Garden Centre and we've been visiting it since it was owned by Tatchi about 15 years ago. Since then it's changed hands several times. Wyvale made huge improvements to it and introduced concessioary shops likeWH Smiths, Scottish Wool, Cargo, Kitchen-ware [sorry don't know the name] plus outward-bound clothing, and sports gear plus a large shoes shopa large handicraft shop and a good delicatessen, whilt still providing an excellent and comprehensive Garden shop, finally a small cafe of Costa's. Dobbie has ripped out most of the side shops with shoes, clothing etc, even Costa's cafe and it's now rubbish!!! The deli has been sold to Sainsbury too. very bad development

The garden centre is now part of the Dobbies chain, having been Wye Vale when we last visited. Due to COVID restrictions we had a short wait before we went into the restaurant. The restaurant area was pleasant, light and airy. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. My wife had fish and chips and I had a Burmese curry. The food was surprisingly good, although the accompanying naan bread was a bit chewy. We wandered round the garden centre which was interesting, and there were a number of concessions including Sainsbury’s and WH Smith. All in all a pleasant visit.

Get the impression they running this down to shut it totally, Wont be bothering to go the main cafe as its overpriced and not any better apparently.Like previous people point out how come Dobbies Peterborough is so much better?

I just felt sorry for the people working there. They didn’t have anything hardly that was on the menu. They took an actual hour to bring our sandwiches, which were covered with butter on the outside of the bread. Inedible and service station quality, how do you make such a terrible cheese sandwich? For £6?They also over charged us and got the order wrong, didn’t seem fussed. The salad did seem fresh at least, and you get free water and ice, so well done for that.I don’t mean to be damning here, maybe some training and basic quality improvement might be helpful. It is Dobbies after all, they should invest in the place.

Visited mid afternoon on a Saturday for tea & cake. Not very busy but the queue moved very slowly, only two staff on, who were clearly not bothered about the long wait or make any attempt to be friendly. The choice of cake was very limited (not restocked from the morning). There were plenty of unused tables which about half of them had not been cleared. For the price charged, this was not good value.

Today I visited the Dobbies garden centre with my mum and partner to have some lunch in the restaurant. We were served by a young lady, who clearly does not enjoy her job. She yawned throughout the entire transaction and spoke very unenthusiastically to tell us most of the menu was not available. My partner has coeliac disease and there was no food available for him. The only gluten free cake available had clearly been contaminated by other cakes as there was frosting all over it (which the gluten free cake did not have). There was also no separate serving utensil to use for this. Tea and coffee was served without a teaspoon, to which we had to go back up and get. My mother and I ordered a toasted sandwich each, and we both commented on how what came was not a good value for money at all. My toasted cheese and chutney sandwich was barely filled, and it came with less than a handful of crisps which looked like the craps from the end of the packet and a salad. When sitting down, not a single member of staff looked happy. I think they all need a customer service course or two.Definitely will not be returning to that cafe. Costa is much better, and the staff are at least friendly.

We have just returned from visiting this Garden Centre – Huntingdon Garden & Leisure.Whilst there with our 12 month old grandchild we had refreshments in thecafé and purchased a play area ticket for our grandchild for £3.50, including compulsory50 pence charity donation. When we went to the play area, the tables within the play area enclosure were uncleared with all the debris from previous visitors including a filthy high chair. The Toddlers (under2yrs) play area was no bigger than 2/3rds of a single garage. A lot of establishments would not charge for such a facility when purchasingfood. I also suspect, as the wrist band procedure was not being applied, that the majority of parents had not paid, people seemed to using it ad hoc, whilst parents sat in the main café.Whilst we were there, approx 1hrs at no time did any assistant appear to clear the tables.A very poor and overcharge facility. Would not recommend

Use to be good before it had been taken over. It's full of rubbish taty old Christmas display and other bits. The cafe is awful. £6 for a toasted sandwich which is done on thin bread looked like a pancake!! What a rip off. £2.50 for a can of drink wow another rip off!! Miserable staff as well. Not like other nice dobbies centres. Won't go there again! Was much better before.

Went to the restaurant on Friday 8th November 2018, the centre has been sold to Dobbies. I asked for tea for two (normally in tea pot) and was given large breakfast cups with a tea bag in each, I asked for saucers and was told they are waiting for the new china. We ordered fish and chips and hunters chicken plus a pudding. My fish was dried out and so I returned it and eventually received a replacement after my wife had eaten hers. The wrong pudding was delivered to the table and we had to wait for a replacement.Give the restaurant a miss and have a coffee in Costa and eat in a pub down the road!

The place looks nice and does fresh food. I had hunter chicken and chips and it did taste nice and it was what you expect from a garden centre cafeteria. The only thing that I can pick up on is that it did take over 30 minutes to get the meal. I don’t expect it to magically appear just like a that. But with the amount of staff that were on why it took so long. I myself have worked in garden centre cafeterias and know how they work. It does seem to take slightly long than what you expect. It is a good place to go and I will come back again.

We have been using this restaurant for some time. We have been very pleased up until the last few months. The food quality and quantity has gone downhill no end. We went the other day with friends and have decided unless things change we will not want to eat here, The mains were not great at all and the crumble that once was packed with lovely thick chunks of apple was just a pureed slop and the crumble on top was burnt. I don't know why there has been such a downturn in standards, but I really hope they get it sorted as it is nearby for us and means we don't have to travel far to go out for lunch. The staff are always friendly.

Lovely place to have a quick snack or a full meal. Staff were all lovely. Plenty of open plan shops to visit in the centre too. We spent a couple of hours just wandering around. Best of all the centre is very dog friendly. The only area they are not allowed is the Farm shop which is understandable. Will definitely go again if we are ever in the area again

Visiting family in Hemingford, we usually pop over to the garden centre, as I like to compare the offerings between this Wyevale against our Surrey Centre. And, my wife usually suggests we have a snack & drinks too. Service sometimes slows things down but today was all great

We were the only customers in for breakfast unfortunately I now know why. Poached eggs were hard, bacon was cold and fatty and the eggs with hollandaise arrived without the hollandaise with cold toast. Breakfast was returned for a fresh one which came back with egg shell in it. Crockery was chipped. Not a good experience and certainly not worth the £14 paid.

Please do not see this as advertisement as an outlet. Nearly everything is full price and a very small amount of items are 30% off which was disheartening as I made the journey down to visit especially. Absolute rip off and poorly advertised. Trading standards need to look at this advertising .

You hear that crunchy layer? 😋 🐟 FRIAR TUCK’S OF YAXLEY 📍 🇬🇧 A few weeks back, I stumbled across a new Fish n Chips spot! I am on a quest to find the best tastiest Fish & Chips combo in the UK. 🇬🇧 I am a big fan of fried fish in general but UKs fish and chips is my new obsession. 🤩 Each month I select a fish n chips spot to review its service, ambiance and most importantly its taste of its food. FRIAR TUCK’S OF YAXLEY have been on my radar for quite some time now. I finally went there and had to see what they working with. The location was convenient. I like the set up of the store, a very well put together to-go spot. The workers at the cash register were sweet. When I asked the difference between the two types of fish, the cook at the counter seemed annoyed that I asked that question. 😅😅 They also didn’t have had their large size fish option at the moment, which was a bummer. 😕Nevertheless, I was still excited to try their fish and chips. So got a Medium size Cod. They fried the fish right in front of me which was superb 🤩 The pricing wasn’t that bad as well. Something I did appreciate was that they wrap their food in paper which made it feel more authentic. Their medium size fish was HUGE, as well as the small chips order. 🫨It smells Devine! Once I got my food, I was ready to eat it right and then! As I was leaving, there was this MOST BREATHTAKING PICTURE PERFECT RAINBOW I’ve ever seen 🌈 I mean, it was just out of this world! That’s when I knew this fish and chips was going to be amazing! It was indeed amazing! It was well seasoned with salt and vinegar with my chips as well. It has the perfect crisp to it. The fish tasted fresh and great quality. Would love to visit again! If ever in this area, it’s a MUST! If the owners see this raving review, feel free to reach out and thank me by sending me a to-go box 😁😊😋

A valentine meal, waited 35 minutes for a starter, and then an hour for our mains to arrive. And we can't say the wait was worth it. The food was shocking, tough Ribeye steak. Frozen chips, lacking any colour , for the cost of the meal, you would have expected fresh homemade chips. Mushrooms dripping in fat. 🤢 The poor very young waitress taking flack from several diners, having no support from the owners or managers. They should award her for keeping professional throughout her regular apologies. On paying the bill the manager/owner didn't seem to care that the food was bad. All he seemed to care about was punching in the amount of the bill into his till, and us pinging our card. We will not be returning or recommending to friends
