Wraggy's in Sheffield

Absolute top draw... my family and I called in for a chippy treat after the circus. The chips were perfect, the haddock cooked fresh and the batter not at all greasy. It was a beautiful meal. Seven of us had something different from the menu and we all agreed it was the beautiful. Some even said it was the best chippy they had been to. Doesn't quite beat the Yorkshire Fisheries in Blackpool for me but it is a VERY close second! We will be back.

Had cod, chips and peas tonight and they were really good. Fish was excellent - cooked to order and really good quality. Loads of chips and was also offered tartar and a lemon included. Been quite a few times and fish always good. Cost on par with others for large cod and chips. Highly recommended.

The shop has a good exterior look which makes it inviting. On entry, the shop appears clean and tidy. There are seats if required. A TV on one wall and a clear, reasonable and organised price list on the other. The staff are practiced and skilful from order to service. The food is well cooked and wrapped, giving a good impression on dishing up at home. This then provides a good eating experience, satisfying hunger and expectations alike.

Popped in on the way home, never visited this shop before. Our fish and chips were cooked before our eyes, fresh, hot and delicious 😋

Ran in for a quick tea last night and qas taken back by how well there food was presented. Everything so clean and organised while on the rack. Is was a quiet time and the staff and owner are very friendly and good banter. The fish and chips are my new favorite in the area 😋

Welcoming as soon as we walked in the door. I have several food allergies which were takin into account when I was ordering my food. The fish (haddock) and chips were super tasty (I would even go as far as saying they were better than a famous chippy in Whitby) with decent portion sizes. Thankyou, it was really tasty and we will definitely be back soon!

By the time you get your food you'll need to order again. The service is so slow it's unbelievable. The food is mediocre. I've heard its closing down. I won't miss it.

Good fish and chips but no customer service at all. Wasn't asked if we wanted salt and vinegar on, just got thrown a load of sachets in bag that expired in April 2021. Same lack of customer service by same man everytime we have visited hence the rating.

Chips amd curry are really nice, batter on fish and sausage is always soggy and ends up getting wasted. It's never open say 11:30 till 14:00, past 2 days I've been around 12 it's been closed. Updated times would do.

Not been to for years. Loved the fish. Curry sauce nice flavour but a bit runny. Chips were on verge of some very slightly under cooked. Portion size was good. Inside looked very clean and tidy with 2 staff on.

I only popped in for a chip butty. I expected a breadcake with a small portion of chips inside. When I got home I found a massive portion of chips, and only £2.50. Chips were spot on too

Good value for money, tasty food

Came here as it was the closest fish and chips to my hotel, absolutely made up I did, warm welcome, brilliant fish and chips, but the best thing about the meal was the curry sauce, absolutely outstanding. If you’re a local or around the area with work, this place should be top of your list. Wraggy even recommended an Italian across the road, looking after the community.

Not bad, chips were the frozen type which are pretty much tasteless and stodgy.

The best fish and chip shop in Sheffield. Why? They actually take card payments - why do no other chippies take card? I'm guessing its fees but really its a few pence per transaction now. They serve in a cardboard box and paper bag rather than polystyrene container and plastic bag - brilliant! Most of all, the fish and chips were lovely. Nice staff behind the counter too. Well done Wraggy's.

Very slow. Only two staff on a Saturday evening.Waited outside in the cold for 20 mins for a simple order. Quite expensive. Generous chip portion, fish average size. Better chippies available not too far away.

Not much to tell, the prices are horrendous, the food is at best average, but at worst, really poor. I live close enough that if they had reasonable prices and good food, I'd use it regularly, instead I use it about once every 6 months for a bag of very average chips.

No he estado aquí por más de un año y debo ser honesto, ya que estuvo cerrado mucho durante la pandemia.Pero llamamos hoy, abrimos fish and chips y nos sentamos afuera en las sillas que proporcionan. Tengo que decir que fueron muy agradables por encima del promedio. Creo que comerlos abiertos siempre es lo mejor.Buenas patatas fritas muy buen pescado y una masa encantadora sin duda llamaremos de nuevo.

Fish was soft and delish. Chips were best i've had, and curry sauce you've just got to try it.

Lovely fish but chips were very bland. Only do a cone or regular chips and the regular portion is a little tight on the size. The fella serving was lacking decent customer service skills. Price is OK but overall there are better options close by.

Over £6.00 for a very small fish and portion of chips. When I got home the fish looked really small so I weighed it - it was under 5oz including batter so I'd guess the weight of the fish was well under 3.5 oz. Yes they do cook to order. I'd guess so you can't see how small the portions are of the fish being served. My first and last visit

I don't often indulge in fish and chips, but if I ever decide to I am very discerning as the idea of feeling like you have a greasy stodgy lump in your belly, which many chip shops seem to leave you with after eating, is never appealing. This is not the case with Wraggy's, everything is cooked fresh (so be prepared to wait just a few minutes... good things come to those...) and the fish is always excellent, with lovely flakey white meat in a crisp light batter - not the least bit greasy! The chips are outstanding also, the best potatoes cooked to golden perfection! Also, the owner takes great pride in what he serves, which means you are guaranteed a great fish and chip experience! This is a must for me, a fellow shop owner who prides himself on good customer service. In short, I now only ever go to Wraggy's if I'm wanting to indulge. Would certainly recommend...

Gorgeous 'proper' Fish & Chips (and scraps too!) Very helpful friendly staff. We we're there half an hour before he was opening, but he let us come in and watch the tv! Seating available inside and out. Good mug of tea too.

Nice chippy not been for a long time but they still good fish and chips. The portions are enormous the fish really tasty and lovely chips. Love the seats outside so you can sit and eat your chips fresh.

All very mediocre. Chips where dry but sausage was really nice, No real effort made by the bloke to make us feel valued, however the lady did. Not bad if there's nothing else open.

I have been working in hotels, restaurants all over England... this cod and chips which we bought today (for the first time from Wraggy's) was spectacular. It was just different, fresh, cooked to order and yes it was not full of oil. It was cooked to be an healthy option. I don't know what type of oil they use, but it was best I have ever had. It was better then a good restaurant's fish and chips. Very strongly recommend. Thank you chef ;) You will be in a good business if you carry on that way ;)

What can I say a great quality local fish & chip shop with good quality fish at a good price. For those that want more there are plenty of other things on the menu and for those who are as old as me scraps, mushy peas, curry sauce and more.

Excellent service. Fish cooked to order absolutely delicious, still piping hot when I got home. Large fish is massive.

Best in area but check order before leaving. Mines been wrong a few times now but by time your home and starving little motivation to go back and change it. Won't find a better chippy anywhere near though!

Thought we'd try this place for a change not been since new owner took over.A bit more expensive than other local chip shops and portions not as big but nice quality would go again.

Best chips in Sheffield, no undercooked or brunt scrappy bits. Good sized portions freshly cooked on entering sausage's great tasting batter piping hot still when I got home. Great service got chips with curry sauce on a small tray whilst we wait and asked to try a battered mushroom. Call in once a week on a Thursday for over 2 years now.

Just original fish and chips . But the best ive had for a long time, the great thin crispy batter. And perfectly cooked fish did it for me. Ace!!!!!

Superb fish and chips. Some of the best I have ever eaten and definitely the best in Sheffield. The portion size might be slightly less than some of the other nearby chippy's, but they are more than enough for me and my family and are superb quality.

Always get nice fish and chips from here. Service also very friendly to. Best chip shop in this area.

Terrible experience, overpriced, poor service, spent £30 and got home to find peas missing from order and had to heat up can of peas, curry sauce tasted vile first and last time I will use this chip shop

OMG the fish and chips here are amazing, one of my favorite chippys in sheffield, the batter is crisp and not greasy, the fish and chips are perfect along with good prices, i try to keep away as much as possible from naughty food but sometimes its hard to resist when passing this place

Best fish and chips I have had in a long long time. Cod was fresh and white, batter perfect and chips beautiful, not at all greasy. Lady serving was very happy and friendly and also included slice of lemon and scraps (not had scraps since I was at school!!) Will be sure to visit next time i am in Sheffield
