Large portion sizes, great service and a good price. Chips are on point and fish sizes are larger than expected, will be coming again.

Best chippy in Sheffield. Wish they’d get a Zettle so I could pay by card. Nearest cash point is in the co-op though, when it’s working.

Popped in just for a bag of chips for my husband and me. Sorry to say but they were the worst chips I’ve ever had.. they were very dry and tasteless. Overpriced at £3.70 a portion Didn’t have anything else so cannot comment on the rest of the menu but the chips were awful

It was recommended by a friend as I had allways gone elsewhere so tried it and the fish and chips were sooo good the batter so crispy and delicious. The lady who served me was lovely and it had a lovely atmosphere Will definitely be going again .have told friends and family they must go .0

Sometimes pop in Derbyshire lane fish and chips takeaway when I pass it's very convenient the fish and chips are OK they do a verity of meal deals which is very good 👍 fairly priced and quite nice I don't go in a lot but it's always been OK sometimes the chips were cold but hey ho all in all its good 😊have to mention super friendly staff 😉

You guys, not great. The fish was way dry yet greasy at the same time. The batter certainly left something to be desired, from texture to flavor to mouth feel, it definitely didn’t lack in grease, I was a literal walking oil spill after “eating”. Sad!

Bought a fish cake here fri 29th Sept. Hour after eating it severe diarrhoea now being off work a total of one week and I've been told by the doctor I've got food poisoning because the fish in the fish cake must have been off or raw. It happened within hours of eating the fish cake I am so poorly. Won't be buying from there again I must admit it didn't quite taste right hence I threw half of it away if only I had not bought it last Friday

Been a regular at this chippy being a local but gosh this place has gone down hill. Staff rude and obnoxious order wrong twice, and chips not done properly. Don’t know what’s happening here but will not be using again

It's been our local chippy for years and once belonged to my relatives. I don't know what's happened but recently it's been terrible. On a number of occasions the fish has been so dry and covered with too much batter. The fish has shrivelled up inside and just left a large piece of batter at the end with no fish in it!. Chips are not bad and the service is great but its a fish and chip shop and the fish needs to be right. I have wondered if they are frying the fish too early and warming it for too long? I have made the decision after too many bad fish suppers, to go elsewhere even if it means driving to get it. Unfortunately, many of our local friends have said the same.

Just called at this chippy and the fishcakes here are disgusting, I wouldn't feed it to an animal..!! A fishcake is potato, fish potato covered in batter, NOT what you serve. Minced up fish mixed with flour, have you tried them yourself.? I suspect you wouldn't eat it again🤮

Saw that they had reopened today on our daily walk (during the lockdown) so decided to have fish and chips for tea tonight. Just finished them and I have to say they were excellent. Visited a certain fish and chip shop on Abbey Lane a couple of weeks ago and tonight's were far superior. The quality of cod, crispiness of the batter and the chips were of a much higher standard Welcome back and thanks to the staff for providing an excellent service. Stay safe and well everyone.

Well to say I'm upset & angry is an Understatement. My Husband and I have been going to this chip shop for the last 5 years every Friday. We always order fish & chips twice. My Husband always chatted to the young guy frying or if he wasn't there his father. Last week when we went the young guy was off he had injured his hand.when we got our tea home my Husband's fish was full of bones which was very unusual he called the shop and told them they told him to mention it next week which was tonight. He whispered it tonight to the young girl who was serving to be told you should have fetched it back last week Really!! We certainly wasn't going to drive back from Heeley did they not believe us ?. We would never make something up like this. We paid for our Fish & Chips tonight but will never come back.........

Travelled to visit this chippy for the first time after reading the brilliant reviews of it and I'm glad we did. It was spotlessly clean. The staff were friendly. The fish and chips were tasty. A small slight criticism (if you can call it that) , as it was our first visit we didn't realise how fast the staff would be at wrapping our order so she had wrapped before I had time to ask for salt and vinegar to be put on. I realise I could have stood and unwrapped them but to me that would have looked a bit rude. I ended up buying a bottle of vinegar from them instead. I will know next time, as I will definitely go back again.
