Worzals in King's Lynn and West Norfolk

Beautiful place . We love the food unfortunately have to say that the portion of the chicken dishes are disgusting . My son had Katsu curry which was lovely but the chicken breast was tiny . Also we had chicken Katsu chicken mini totters hash brown starter with 4 tiny bits of chicken . If I had known I would have paid extra for a normal sized portion . But the dish tasted beautiful in flavour . My hotdog was very burnt and hard too . Told waitress but there was no comeback . I think it had being standing on the hot plate for while before coming to our table as it was very busy .All staff are lovely .

I have been to Worzals twice, the first time I ordered a starter and large steak. The starter was like eating mulch and had no resemblance to what it was supposed to be. The large steak was overcooked, despite being ask for medium rear. After that point I lost interest in the food being offered, I would not even take it home for the dog. My Wife and family finished our food paid the bill and we left. On reflection I thought that every restaurent has a bad day and left it at that. Yesterday my daughter told methat she had booked a table for eleven people at their carvery, (Sunday Dinner to me). I had some missgivings about this considering the last performance but for the sake of family harmony I would go along with their wishes. We arrived at the appointed time, a short way from Kings Lynn where we live just 15 miles away, other members of our family party came from Gloucester. (a long drive). On entering reception I saw my daughter standing at the counter looking rather glum. So being Dad I asked what the problem was. She said that they had run out of the main dishes, Beef, Lamb,Pork, etc and could only offer us Chicken, pies or sausages. I ask to see the Manager who told me that lots of people had turned up and that the food had gone, So I ask how there stock control had allowed this to happen especially as 11 prebooked covers should have been accounted for. I would get a better choice of menu at the local lorry drivers cafe. The Manager apologised and said that the kitchen had only notified him 15 minutes before we turned up and that they were trying to ring other people who were booked to warn them. By now it was 1530 in the afternoon, some of the party especially those with a long Journey decided to go for the pie and chips. I decided to leave, to which we were offered a 25% discount. What an insult, they completely mess up are family party, some who we had not seen for months because Worzals could not get there act into gear. So never again we will not be back. What a way to run a business.

Very good first appearance, members of staff a bit offish. I had fish finger sandwich, dont thinkCaptain Birdseye, these fingers were actually pieces of fish in batter and no way could they be eaten in the sandwich. The fish was also overcooked. The salad served with the "sandwich" was excellent. My wife had potato skins which were also declared to be overcooked. The coffees we had were at best served luke warm.

Table service Sunday lunch. Good meat options, but everything else served generically, including the gravy which was very thin and flooded the plate. Opted for beef. Plenty of it, two very thick slices, but tough and chewy. The meat was laid on top of a large mound of mash with a couple of sad looking ‘roast’ potatoes. The mash was lumpy and honestly tasted like instant mash. We won’t be rushing back to worzells in the future. Much better local Sunday lunch options that provide traditional self serve or much better table serve options (gravy boat is a must!). Try The Anchor in Sutton Bridge or The Barn in Terrington.

We visited Worzals for an evening meal on a Wednesday evening - we were half adults and half older children group of 8 - while the online booking said children up to 16 the menu was very childish in appearance so all straight away went for the adult meals. There was a deal 2 courses for £19.95 and a bit more for 3 courses but no-one could manage 3. The loaded potato skins were tasty as a starter, the black and blue chicken was one of the nicest meals I have had in a while and those in the party with ribs and steak really enjoyed them. Milkshakes were good as were the other meals but the children struggled with the mixed vegetables, especially with leek in. We will certainly be back

The place it fine. They seem to try hard with the food, but sometimes its a miss. Randomly the chips seem to let meals down. Service can vary and if it wasn't for Emma the place would proper go down hill. To be fair tastiest thing there.

Having enjoyed many visits todays was very disappointing , worst of all our complaints weren’t taken seriously. Sad end to our holiday

Awful attitude of staff and establishment. We never got further than the door as this place refuses to accept cash which is all we had. We were not aware until we arrived and saw a sign saying it was card only payment. We explained we only had cash and was not aware but it made no difference. There were other people that came in and stood behind us waiting to be seated and witnessed this conversation which added to the humiliation caused to us by this. The arrogance displayed by this business was appalling. We will NEVER return. We left and went to a nice place nearby who fitted us in at short notice and had a lovely meal in nice surroundings.

For the price and reputation I expected more. Mcdonalds serve better roasts, burnt roast pudding, lumpy mash, cold spots throughout the lamb.

In short, Wörzel's Wisbech is a must-visit for anyone looking for great food in a relaxed setting. We can't wait to return and try more of their creative menu offerings. Book your table now and get ready for a culinary treat!

Purchased a family steak and ale pie (allegedly) for £10.99. Turned out to be a mushroom and carrot pie with a smattering of beef. My son and I hate mushrooms, the main filling, so I wouldn't have bought it had I known. There was no breakdown of ingredients on the wrapper just a label stating steak and ale pie. I notice another reviewer experienced the same thing in the restaurant 2 years ago, so no improvements have been made. Now feeling misguided, disappointed and hungry!

We met up with long-term friends who live in the Wisbech area and enoyed an excellent meal togther. Our waitress, Courtney, was particularly welcoming and helpful thoughout our time there. The food was hot, full of taste, and nourishing; the deserts were delightful, and beyond expectations! Not our first time there, but certainly one of our best!

OMG😳Is this a nursing home? 7.30 the restaurant shuts! No snacks available apart from desserts. Then the ‘Last orders follow within 45mins. Who is this place open for? The kitchen staff? I think so - Tater tots! OMG!! These are a cheap frozen American side dish for kids!! They don’t change even if you serve them with truffles 🤢. You have a beautiful building and welcoming environment, yet this is what happens on a Thursday night in Wisbech. Bite the bullet, fire the chef who designed the menu. Replace and let people know you’re open until a reasonable time.

Visited early on a Saturday evening with friends and every item I had prepicked out was not available on the menu, really poor planning from staff that early on a Saturday night. Ended up with a main which was very average for the cost of it and my wife went with a burger that had seen better days and we have had better burgers from weatherspoons. The drinks were excellent though some really nice cocktails with good service and desserts were really good. Overall when spending £150 per couple you expect a lot better quality and availability of food menu. Unlikely to return anytime soon after this.

I really don’t recognise the recent poor reviews on here. This place is always brilliant. On our last visit, the staff were as welcoming and as helpful as ever – despite the place being packed. The food was as superb as it always has been. The Halloumi Chili Wrap and the Bacon & Brie Sandwich were tremendous, and the coffees were great. The surroundings are comfy and cosy. It’s always a pleasure to drop in here.

Our meal was very poor. Portion size extremely mean and food quality unsatisfactory. The extremely dim lighting in our area of the restaurant made for a very gloomy experience.

Arrived host was very polite and friendly, put in a freezing seating area with elderly parents, had to ask to be moved, drinks served by manager, asked for bottle soft was told no just draft no alternative, ordered food , starters camembert, wings garlic bread, wings and camembert deep fried! Greasy Bbq chicken and bacon burger bacon not crispy it was burnt and unedable, hamand eggs fine, rib eye steak over seasoned rare and not medium as requested, chips awfull, like bag of frozen , not cooked very much no colour and unacceptable for a steak dinner priced at £24, the feel was of that of a business cutting costs on everything, sauces cheap plastic sachets, when paying restaurant prices would expect sauces served in ramacins, first time I've seen my parents in 4 months, whole experience very disappointing for myself and parents, manager was unconcerned about my views , chips wernt home cooked,burnt bacon isn't crispy, no bottle soft drinks, no apologies, we won't be returning

My partner and I’s first time visiting Worzals and after reading some of the recent reviews we were slightly skeptical but the reviews couldn’t have been more wrong! Upon arrival the waitress who seated us told us there was a 25-30 minute wait which i thought was super helpful. As soon as we sat down, a really friendly waitress came over and took our drinks order, my partner wanted to try the 2 red wines on the menu and the waitress was more than helpful bringing samples over. We were then brought our starters which were duck Bon bons, tempura prawns and hot cheddar garlic bread. The Bon bons were incredibly tasty and flavourful, the prawns were super crispy but the garlic bread hardly tasted of garlic at all, could only taste cheese. We then had about a 45 minute wait for our main course but if you’re with the right company you don’t tend to mind… the mains came and the steaks were cooked to perfection and the chips were gorgeously crisp. The waitress came over after about 5 minutes to check everything was okay with our food and to get us another round of drinks. We then got the cocoa, baileys & caramel meringue roulade for pudding and it was gorgeous! Overall I can’t fault our experience at Worzals, the food was amazing and the waitresses were equally as incredible! Will now definitely become my partner and I’s new date night spot Can’t wait to come back!

Very nice staff and tables very nicely placed. Coffee at £3.50 very poor with little flavour . No whole miolk available and coffee was cold with half left. Resturant also was not warm enough. Was told upon entering (1pm) that goats cheese sald was not available ( that would have been my wifes choice). I ordered the steak pie, 1 minuet later waiter returned to say none left! Instead I ordered as did my wife The Brie, cranberry and mushroom pie. Well upon eating I thought I had been served the wrong pie. Full of mushrooms, spinich (not mentioned on menu) and rice (??) . No brie or cranberries. Was told by waiter that the brie and cranberries were all mixed in togeter with rice as well. Could not notice and cheese or cranberry. Not very nice, changed to scampi which was fine. The baileys dessert was lovely. Very disappointing as was not a cheap meal.

Seems to be going downhill which is a real shame. We visited yesterday and the service was appalling. Our meals were pretty much thrown down on the table and the waitress walked away. There was an empty glass right in front of her nose, but no offer of getting another drink. We flagged down another waitress to ask for salt, sauce and drinks. She didn’t seem interested either. Our drinks arrived 10 minutes later but went to the table next to us. When the guests explained that they didn’t order them, the waiter took them away. He didn’t check to see if they were for anyone else. We again flagged down a grumpy waitress to explain the situation and she reordered the drinks. Another 5 minutes and they arrived. The waitress said she’d put through a large coke rather than a small and hoped that “would be ok”. She knew she had made a mistake but there was no attempt to rectify it or apologise. Coke costs pennies so why not just charge us for a small? We were too thirsty to make a big deal out of it. The food was ok, not that anyone checked. It could have been awful and nobody would know. The chips were majorly over cooked and the roast barely had any gravy though. At no point did we see a manager so no wonder the standards are so poor. We had to go to the bar to pay the bill as the usual card machine apparently wasn’t working. Again, nobody was interested if we’d had a good meal or not. When we left we walked past no less than threes waitresses and none of them said thank you or goodbye. We’ve been going here for years, but I don’t think we’ll go again now. Such a shame.

Very very disappointing. My friend and I meet each month for a lunch and a catch up and have often used Worzals. We thought as within the festive season we would have their Christmas lunch. On arriving we were told that the Christmas lunch is only served on Sunday - this is after I had previously emailed and specifically said we were coming for their Xmas lunch - a quick look at their emails could have helped us choose a Sunday rather than a weekday. We plumbed for a couple of starters - quite plain. But the Turkey burger we had was awful. Thin processed and tough as old boots turkey burgers served with shrivelled pigs in blankets, instant mashed potatoes and rock hard camembert bites. We left most of the meal. I would have had more fun burning the £59.00 we had to pay for it. The only good thing was the 2 glasses of Merlot wine which we needed to take the sting out of a rotten experience.

I went here with my dad and younger sister and our meal was lovely! The service was amazing, we were served by a lovely young lady called Ebony, she was very professional and served us with happiness and made our trip a lot more enjoyable. Thank you Ebony and all the rest of the staff at worzals.

I don’t think our greasy spoon Sunday breakfasts could have been of poorer quality, and didn't match the surroundings and hype. Smart places such as this must improve their act. This is a long message, so please bear with us. We hope that the management will give us all a detailed response, and visit some other garden centres to learn how to deliver quality. We paid pour bill in full, so were not trying to get free food, and we were not just having a bad day. We challenged the manager afterwards, as it is not proper to make a public fuss. The manager however, only wanted to point out that they had served over 100 people that morning, and that we should have put our comments (to the very competent and well dressed) serving staff. This is not fair on them, and we had actually politely commented to them several times ). The food was little more than slopped on the plate. + Watery tinned tomatoes overlapping a pool of baked beans with a mushroom amongst it all fighting for life. Come on! + Two eggs with hardish yolks + Two undersized half-length sausages + Overcooked chewy bacon + Two halves of toast on the same plate (not a side plate) so their edges became tainted by the other food + One foil pat of butter underneath, so it had been melted by the warm plate + The half full teapot had two tea bags, not full, so poured like dark fence paint + When requested, a small extra pot of hot water, again only half full + The two hash browns were delicious This is what the menu said: “Growing up we have fond memories of visiting our Aunty Eileen. In times of joy or sadness, her way of giving you a big hug would always be through spoiling us with comforting food and a cup of tea. Her renowned breakfast has been number 1 for our customers for over 10 years which is why it takes prime position, right at the top! “ From this, the verdict is that Aunty Eileen was a dreadful cook, but somehow able to hypnotise her family into believing she was something else. Now, it's management's turn.

Very disappointing! The service was incredibly slow, despite it not being very busy. My sausage and egg in a brioche bun was the size of a muffin from a famous fast-food restaurant. Despite the menu clearly stating, 'with 2 fried eggs', what I actually received was basically a yolk with a little white hanging from one side - not even a whole egg. The sausage was more of a chipolata. Compared to the size of most dishes at Worzals, this was quite surprising. If you are scaling back on the size of the dishes, please correct your menus to reflect this, instead of being so misleading.

Pumpkinpat bought many pumpkins and most went rotten within a week of bringing them home They are not the cheapest disappointing

Had a table booked for lunch ended up waiting 20 minutes after our Allocated time slot to be seated. Our Waitress wasn’t the friendliest and made me uncomfortable, food was poor standard considering the price . Overheard staff making rude comments about other customers. Overall wouldn’t recommend

Great breakfast. Good selection. The service was superb and prompt. One small comment is that the food could have been warmer. If cool is 1 and hot 10 it was only 7. It’s worth pointing out it was very busy and at the end of breakfast serving period. Well worth a visit

Well what can I say after my last visit as a couple and we was sat with families and kids even when their was tables free. I thought I would give it another try And yes it did disappoint yet again who ever the manger is of the restaurant and bar needs sacking Booked with friends and then told when we got their they are only doing sandwiches and wraps Even though website and Facebook says full menu This place has always had poor management and run wrong in the bar and restaurant I’m glad I don’t run my pub this way or I would be closing immediately No photos to shot as we all left and went to the locomotive down the road which to be honest the food was brilliant and the people knew what they was on about My advice is don’t go worzals it’s run by ants

Had the beef bourguignon and had about 5 pieces of beef about the size of my thumb nail. Complained about portion size and was told it's portioned out beforehand. I was given £3.00 off my bill. So basically just had potatoes and veg for £14.95 for my lunch. Worzals is getting a right rip off.

A lovely environment and staff are great BUT unfortunately the food has gone downhill, prices not warranted for the quality, last 2 visits in September vastly different from previous 6 months shame.

Been many times over the years but we haven’t been for a while - no reason though. Yesterday evening we had a excellent meal and could not fault it in anyway. The only downside is the service could be slightly quicker. Will return very soon!

The food is OK does not wow...but I would personally eat other places as I think the food is slightly over priced. Look at the other menu where you get different courses Great if you got kids as they can play outside.

The best thing about this restaurant was the toilets. Dirty tables covered with empty cups and glasses, these weren’t even removed when our order was brought over. Staff had no idea about the ingredients in the food being served - I was actually told that they don’t have allergen sheets for the cakes as “they’re not made here”! If you have a food allergy I would avoid Worzals at all costs. We went elsewhere for food.

The breakfast was great my husband had tater tots and I had pancakes definitely going again just as good as their main menu.

The fillet steak was exceptional! Big portions of home made chips. Our friends had the chicken, leak & ham pie & said it was “absolutely delicious” they also had the Macaroni cheese & said it was the “best” they ever tasted. The desserts were delicious too & large potions. Service was excellent! Very professional. Can’t wait to go again!

If you love your vegan friends and family don’t bring them here. Poor, uninspired options that you can find done better pretty much everywhere else, and charging a small fortune for the privilege. It’s generally a good idea to avoid meat replacements when eating in non-vegan restaurants as is, but this was one of the worse examples I’ve come across. The southern fried burger genuinely tastes as though it could be the Burger King vegan royale, so do with that what you will. By far the bigger disappointment however was the cauliflower nuggets starter. The curry mayonnaise seemed clearly to me like a raw curry powder spice blend had been mixed with a vegan mayo and that was it. Way too sharp and raw a taste, poorly considered by the person who came up with it. My advice to Worzals is to get rid of all your current options and start again. You can absolutely do better for nearly £19 a main. I will say though that the staff were lovely, no complaints there. Just need to rethink the menu.

I will give it a 4.8 We turned up on bank holiday Monday and had no reservation. The staff said if we could wait 1/2 HR we could have a table for 5. The starters were very good a excellent choice on the menu. For the main course the selection was very good. The food was hot and very well presented as for the taste wow Great!!!! We were first asked for drinks. Then when ordered food they had a deal with burger and pint. As we ordered the burger we should have been offered the deal. This would have saved a minimum of £10.

Met with work colleagues for a working breakfast. Asked for the Eggs Benedict and made of point of asking for the eggs to be runny. The arrived totally overcooked. Returned and perfectly cooked eggs sent to our table. Good service: no quibbles.

Worzals is an amazing restaurant, the food is delicious with plenty of choice. the waiting staff are really friendly and the whole place has a really lovely atmosphere the garden centre and farm shop attached are also beautiful and full of lovely products

Arrived at 11.45 and was told lunch orders would start at 12 so sat down and ordered a coffee .. 12pm came and went no one came to take our order , staff wandering around, 12.15 still no staff member interested in asking if ready...

We always have an enjoyable time here. The service is welcoming and helpful. The food is absolutely fantastic. The coffee is very good indeed. The atmosphere is relaxed. And there’s always something tempting in the shop to take home for later.

Pleasant place for a meal but food and drink prices extortionate. The adjoining garden centre has a mountain of Xmas decorations and baubles but prices are as high as the food.
