The choice for children was very good. The adult hot lunches were delicious especially the Scouse and were reasonably priced.

The extended part of the cafe, after the toilets is like a fancy restaurant, they've put table in a hallway type area and it looks and feels really good. I sat away from the toilets because they were noisy with the air blower and a bit smelly with kids coming in and out but near the door down the hall is lovely. The service was good, we ordered Scouse with read cabbage and bread and a portion of chips. They gave a buzzer which was supposed to buzz when it was ready but it didn't. The food was amazing, delicious warming wholesome scouse stew with delicious bread and cabbage. The chips were really nice too. There was free water available which is always a bonus.

This is an eatery that has the wow looks factor in its 50/50 Edwardian / Victorian wing ..... sit in the old part of the wing and you are back in time. That is the price you pay however for tea and coffee out of paper/plastic cups. They used to have proper cups and mugs but everything now is disposable which is not in keeping at all with the decor. That all said the food and drink here is ace.

We go to the museum regularly and on this occasion decided to have lunch. Scouse was on offer, which my husband opted for and I wanted a toasted sandwich and we ordered a bowl of chips too. My husband was given his meal before my order had even been put through to the kitchen, so we explained we wanted to eat together and handed the meal back, asking that both meals be served at the same time. We sat down and waited, and waited, then waited some more. After 20 minutes wait we asked when our food was likely to arrive and it was evident my toasted sandwich had not even been started (obviously totally forgotten). When the food finally arrived, the portion of chips was a tiny amount and when we queried it, we were blamed for ordering a sandwich with chips (we didn't) and were told we should have ordered a sandwich and a full portion of chips (we did but that obviously was not what was enetered on the order). We then had to wait for a full bowl of chips to arrive by which time my husband realised his meal was not Scouse - it was a stew - no pearl barley - and then he found the potatoes in his stew were not cooked and had to leave them. Absolutely awful.

Visited the Museum on Fri 4th Nov to see the Dr Who exhibit. Can't fault the museum but the cafe well it was bad. We started our visit with a coffee. I only drink de cafe, my daughter also drinks decafe but she drinks it for medical reasons. Having reactions to caffeine. We placed our order for 2 decafe coffees. That we now know we was definitely given ordinary coffee. The museum cafe was the only place we had coffee and my daughter later had her reaction. We also went in the cafe around 1pm for lunch, where we was served cold chips cold beans and cold chicken. I took my meal back and although they did replace my meal with a wrap the attitude of the staff member who dealt with me was i felt very off. But other than avoiding the cafe I would definitely visit the museum and probably take advantage of the provided picnic area.

Stopped for tea and cake after visiting the galleries with the little 'un. Lovely light, bright space for cafe with gluten free chocolate cake and loose leaf tea in good pouring pots. Nice, think I prefer this space to the Walker next door. Would stop again.

Overpriced food that you can get anywhere. When you spend a day in this area, take the few minutes to walk to Lime Street or Liverpool One. At this cafe, you will wait in a long, slow line to get premade foods, cafeteria style, that cost more because there are no fast food chains right at hand to give it competition. This is typical of all the museum cafes that I have had to eat at in Liverpool.

We had a delicious lunch of ham and cheese paninis and chips to share followed by coffee. The only negative point was that the chips were almost cold. On my previous visit the chips were cold so this time I asked for them to be brought with the paninis so that we could eat everything together but they were still cold. Perhaps the method of keeping them hot needs to be reviewed? We sat in the room at the back which was the former technical collage with its beautiful ornate plaster work and columns, a lovely setting for lunch.

This is one of our go to places for a light lunch/snack in Liverpool. There is plenty of choice including sandwiches, cake and hot meals. On this occasion I chose the egg sandwich, crisps and rose lemonade. The sandwich was well filled and very tasty. No problem finding a table - in fact we went in the overspill area and were able to admire the lovely covings depicting maritime events. The tables were cleared and wiped down regularly. A good experience

This is a spacious cafe with ample places to sit next to the foyer. Mam went into raptures about the carrot cake - sadly we were not in raptures about the tea as we prefer proper tea bags rather than loose leaf tea.

NIce to get a 'cafetiere' of leaf tea although water could have been closer to boiling when they made it. My lunch wasn't warmed up very well and was a bit bland. Husbands packet sandwich he said was OK.

For some reason in England museum cafes tend to be one and the same, and this is no exception...they tend to be tucked away in bland generic alcoves, with no view...and this one is no exception. I know there are some exceptions to the rule...but generally they are quiet lifeless places. If you travel to Europe or Asia, the museum cafes tend to be an experience and tourist attraction all of their own, with vibrancy and life. Anyway, if you only visit a cafe for its coffee then the coffee was good...so as a brief stop off to enjoy a caffeine refuel then it does its job well.

Thought the children's meals may have been too small for the teenagers we sent but both said really tasty and filled them up, Husband and I had sandwiches, also tasty, staff attentive and friendly. Lots of variety in the meals and snacks. Had visited before but only for coffee. Definitely improved now serving meals as well. Normally ate upstairs in the Museum but the area now for people who wanted to take their own picnic.

Saturday afternoon. We were looking for somewhere for a quick lunch and I remembered they have a cafe here so thought we’d give it a try. Glad we did. Hubby had lasagne and chips and I had frittata and chips. Both were really tasty and good size portions. Value for money at under £12 total. We had drinks but there was water available for free. Staff were kept busy clearing tables. Plenty of seating with tables of different sizes. The place was buzzing and it was lovely to see so many families - who are well catered for. The space is large and echoes and there is a frequent rumble of the underground trains beneath your feet but this is a historic, cultural experience and I felt it added to it all.

...visited twice in a visit to the museum. Visited with three small children as two families.Good enough value and good food....but...at the end of the day went for a final brew as we were all heading on decent enough journeys home. Whilst we were the last ones in we were still in time but evidently the staff wanted home and “turned off the lights”!!!! Turned off the lights with small children in a cafe. Won’t revisit.

The last time we came to the World Museum the café was in a location on one of the higher floors that wasn't particularly impressive. It is now been relocated to a newly restored part of the building on the ground floor with plenty of space and lots of interesting features. It made a very pleasant place to take a break while visiting the museum.

On a trip to Liverpool and lunched in the wonderful elegant and spacious dining rooms at the World Museum. Scouse with red cabbage was the best I’ve ever tasted with plenty of good quality lamb and well cooked vegetables. The sausage roll and salad was equally fine and prices are very fair. Highly recommended.

The museum was very busy (last day of the Terracotta Army exhibition) so we had to queue for at least 10 minutes, and there were signs up advising of possible delays. We picked ready made sandwiches, but there was a good selection of fresh food from the salad bar and hot counter, and home-made cakes. I was disappointed to have my tea served in a paper cup because it just doesn't taste the same.

Really need more staff as people were coming to see the warriors! Plenty of seating, if you could be bothered to wait for food. Coffee more expensive than Starbucks or Costa, dirty tables. Used facilities, passable.

We queued patiently for a good 25 minutes for two pieces of carrot cake and two teas . One girl serving hot food, one on the till and onechap to do teas and coffees . The girl on the hot food would shout out “anyone for hot food ? “ then would just stand there when there was no response , at one point she went into the back presumably to the kitchen. With a mouth full of food. No thought to assist any of her colleagues

After an early start to get to the museum in time for our entry into the Terracotta Warriors exhibition, we needed a coffee when we arrived. The cafe looks beautiful on the website but on arrival it was cold, grubby and uninviting. Coffee was being served in paper cups, due to “too much washing up” for the duration of the exhibition YEUCH! This is not a station forecourt fast food outlet and surely the exhibition didn’t come as a surprise?! Hire more crockery and an extra person to do the washing up instead of adding more non recyclable rubbish to the pile we are currently drowning under! Not a good example to set! As I was with my parents and didn’t want to make a fuss or have time to go out of the museum again to find somewhere else, I ordered coffee which was as OK as coffee from paper cups can be and my dad had a piece of fruit cake which he described as eating wall paper paste! Will be back to the Museum which is wonderful but will sadly give the cafe a miss next time.

I'm generally a fan of costa coffee - the tiffin is usually great, the coffee is fine. However, on this occasion it just didn't work. Quite a limited choice of food on offer, and one of the least friendly customer teams I've come across. The toasted sandwich also tasted a bit stale frankly. There was also no decaf coffee on offer. The tiffin was lovely however. Not sure I'll visit this branch again soon - better off going to other places around the corner.

I'm a 21-year-old guy from Denmark who was visiting Liverpool solo on a day Everton played a Premier League away match, and wanted to watch the game among local Evertonians. Perhaps looking like an alien in my yellow Danish club's shirt, I cautiously entered The Brick and, after introducing myself, was immedeatly taken in by a few guys. For the majority of the afternoon we talked and talked, they bought me beer on their own initiative, and I had the most wonderful time in The Brick. Even though Everton lost the game, everyone I talked to was always friendly, including the owner of The Brick, and I always felt welcome despite not being an Everton fan; everyone was an exemplary representative of Everton F.C. All in all, I was left with what I felt like was an authentic cultural exchange and English match-day experience, and I'd highly recommend the pub to anyone in the area.
