The best place to hang out in woolwich

I was only with my boys and because of the proximity to the train it worked. Would not have stayed with my wife and daughter. Terrible neighborhood and run down building. The hotel is on top floor and elevator not working. The stairs looked so dirty was a total mess. Look for other places this is just not an option

Love this place, hope the temporary closure isn’t too long. Visiting it is my second favourite event after seeing Punchdrunk … Fantastic beer, great sausage rolls, friendly bar staff, eclectic seating, lovely locals, all that AND the deco. It’s close to being my favourite pub in London.

This pub has a unique and welcoming atmosphere. A great selection of beers, wines, and spirits, and the staff is knowledgeable about the different varieties. Loved their live music, it's a great, fun spot to visit.

Dark & depressing - why pay £6+ a pint?, when the nearby wetherspoons is better....& cheaper!

Best pub in the area for my money. Nice atmosphere and decor, friendly staff - sure it's a tad expensive but everywhere is now. The one thing they could improve on is the food menu - it's very limited - if that was better they'd be pushing 5 stars.

Lovely old spacious building, very much in a classical European style with cosy decor and lighting. Friendly staff , tasty cooked food and live music too. Just the sort of pub Woolwich town centre needs. We will come back again.

A fantastic pub in serious peril since the pandemic. A succession of poor managers has left the staff miserable, the food unreliable, events ill thought out and punters thin on the ground. I really hope it can bounce back.

I just had the best 40th birthday party at the Woolwich Equitable. They made the pub look gorgeous. The staff were super friendly. They sorted everything from music equipment to food to security on the door. Everyone had a great time.

Nice pub with good beer selection

Manager double face, staff very rude. In fact there were only 3 customers , 4 with me. Manager said that was booked we’re I was sit. And was not true He lied. Never ever I will be going there again. I made a huge mistake. Highly don’t recommend this pub at all

Großes Wohnzimmer. Super Personal. Günstige lokale Biere und Biere zu Londoner Preisen. Als Pub absolut zu empfehlen. Zum Essen würde ich aber woanders hin.

The old HQ of Woolwich Equitable Building Society now a pub of the same name. Wonderful art deco building with features still in tact. Great beers and wines. Very comfortable and chilled. You can relax here and take in the great architecture. Marvellous.

Drank in here on many occasions, but no more. They have no concept of customer satisfaction. Sky high prices and low standards.

We haven’t been for a while as there was no chef. I’m pleased to say the food didn’t disappoint tonight. The chips were done well especially- a lot of places undercook chips slightly and it wasn’t the case here. We’ll be back 👍

The staff is very friendly and the beers are simply perfect! Francesco has the typical Italian way to make you feel at home, an impeccable management. all the staff is friendly and helpful, attentive to the needs of the guests. Location suggestive, easy to go since it’s just 4 steps from the the new Elizabeth line Woolwich tube station. I’ll be back for sure! Well done!

Went for a party, had an amazing night, kareoke!! I was pleasantly surprised, last time I was in here it was a branch of "The Woolwich Bank" it's a much better pub than it was a bank 🤣 staff were friendly and extremely professional. The manager impressed me with how he dealt with "unwanted" guests! Will definitely be returning, heard they have a quiz night!! Nice space for meeting up or a party

We just had the most wonderful Sunday lunch special- incredible portions & truly tasteful! I had the Sunday roast - beef, whilst the blonde had Sunday chicken… Marco the waiter really made us feel welcome. great recommendation - we’ll be back!

Fab Sunday lunch. Wonderful roast pork with all the trimmings. Nice chocolate brownie too. The staff are amazing and the manager is the best, Marco!

First time having a classic Sunday Roast here, service was good and food was amazing. Would definitely come back

I really really want to love this place - the building is beautiful, and the inside is really warm and welcoming for such a big space, and the beer offering is pretty good. But they don't really have any idea what they're doing: non-beer drinks are all over the place, the prices on their food menu didn't tally with the prices locked into their till, and despite offering gluten-free options, chef actually had no idea which dishes actually were gluten-free (and her idea of a gluten-free burger bun is, weirdly, a lettuce leaf). If they sort out the Fawlty Towers sides of things, it'll be great. Until then, roll the dice...

A very fun quiz night. Definitely coming back! Didn't eat food whilst I was there, but maybe I will try it out next time.

Great staff above everything else. Yes, the building is fascinating (used to be the HQ of the Woolwich!) and the beer is nice but the people are what's memorable. We were after food, and at the time of writing (14/06/21) their kitchen was closed (chef still in training) but they encouraged us to come in, order takeaway and have some drinks - and even got us cutlery etc. Love their attitude, so friendly. Nice music on too. Classics.

After a break I have return to check this place out - so glad- session ale is chilled but not cold. Perfect to get the best from it. The service is excellent and attentive. This pub in woolwich is the best pub in the centre but also for a fair distance. Love the historic location and decoration classy dining tables in the old bank with cinema seats and quirks a plenty. This really is the kind of pub where you can take in the atmosphere and chill with friends prefect for the Sunday chilled vibe. Music is great as it is at a level that you can hear enjoy but not to intrude.

Favourite local place to hang out. Great range of beers, ales and ciders on tap. The food is smashing and the menu changes frequently so there's always something new to try. Lovely staff and great cosy atmosphere. Occasionally, there are some nice local events on, such as a Christmas fair or a New Years Eve party.

This place looks like an old theatre/cinemas, definitely one of the most stranges pub ive been to til date. It's a fantastic place to escape the cold, especially on a Sunday ( their roasts are phenomenal).

I didn’t know what to expect but it was exactly what I was after to kill some time, relaxed, good music, large enough to be fairly anonymous but friendly staff, nice chips, mismatched retro furniture, an old bank headquarters but not a Wetherspoons, very nice.

Gorgeous pub in the old Art deco Woolwich Equitable building society HQ. Trendy decor, good pub grub and wide selection of craft beer. They often have live music on during the weekend.

Nice gastro pub in the middle of Woolwich. They host events a few nights of the week, the bar prices are reasonable for London and service is always friendly. Usually come here on a weekend on the way back from London.

Top notch service from Ellis and co. Really welcoming. The food is great and reasonably priced. A cool pub avoiding the prices and pretentions of Dial Arch and the unnerving atmosphere of Wetherspoons. Worth it!

Nice place - but I go here simply because Tuesday they are host to a group of board gamers... so I can't say too much about the place other than - they are nice enough to open up their upstairs part on a Tuesday for board gamers (which is nice - and I think relatively safe... though I don't think they earn too much from the group... so doubly nice)

Great pub, only open after 5pm.

Absolutely relaxing pub with delightful staff and great music (often classic rock) soothingly flowing throughout this eclectic cool space with very high ceilings, theatre chairs and leather sofas. Food is good and very reasonably priced (unlike in Royal Arsenal pubs across the street...). They always have some special beers on tap and a good selection of regulars. It's my favourite place to relax in Woolwich!

Esta fue la segunda vez que mi familia y yo cenamos aquí, la primera vez que visitamos aquí, la comida era buena, pero esta vez fue absolutamente horrible, la carne era tan dura y las verduras duras, lo único en el plato que era comestible el pudin de Yorkshire. Definitivamente no volveré aquí para una comida, ya que fue una pérdida total de dinero, lo cual es triste ya que está bastante cerca de nuestra casa. Si quieres a. Buen almuerzo sabroso de domingo, entonces este no es el lugar.

This has always been recommended just never saw the attraction. 3rd time have been there and every time there's been dirty toilets and vomit in the sink. Sort it out guys.

Visité por primera vez el lunes para encontrar que estaba cerrado por comida, así que volví a intentarlo el miércoles en 1945 y les aconsejó que hubieran dejado de tomar pedidos de comida para no estresar al chef. Entonces 5 personas se sientan a esperar para ver si se levanta el toque de queda.El personal del bar está muy contento de que las reglas sean reglas: no es un negocio serio ir a otro lugar

Knowledgeable friendly staff, quirky steating

Wow! This place has everything: a good selection of beers, well cooked and tasty Sunday roast (please try the topside beef! You'll love it), attentive and warm waiting staff...and the ambiance! The place is beautiful to see, maybe slightly too dark, but we'll furnished and vintage looking. They have an upper floor with an internal balcony that overlooks the main floor, with quick table service. Just try it!

We had a group booking... and it was disappointing from beginning to end. Even the food has gone down hill. I was absolutely shocked with the recent standards. The staff does not understand food and also tries to fool you. Lemonade is not sparkling water... the portion sizes were inadequate.... just the few examples. The cooking, table and cleaning service needs immediate attention. I will never return again, not even for a pint. Drastic changes need to happen. Shame... you used to be quite good and you will continue to loose customers this way.

Visitamos el pub el domingo ya que mi otra mitad había estado entusiasmada con la comida allí.Estaba casi vacío, lo que los domingos a la hora del almuerzo siempre es un poco de alarma, pero pedimos. Luego vimos al chef salir de la cocina y comportarse con rudeza e intimidación hacia el personal detrás de la barra. Sin embargo, el personal del bar era encantador y finalmente llegó la comida.Se veía encantador pero hacía frío. Mi amigo lo llevó de vuelta al pase ya que el personal del bar estaba ocupado. El chef luego gritó "¿por qué me traes esto?" Y continuó maldiciéndole y alejándose. Esto es claramente inaceptable y nos devolvieron y nos dejaron la comida. El chef fue tan grosero, nunca he conocido algo así.¡Evita este lugar a menos que no esté en turno!

En general, esto me pareció un lugar de música para conversar con gente tuya o agradable, pero todavía es triste decir buenas bebidas y comida, aunque por lo que tenía es una pena que me invadieran, nunca antes había visto al hombre. hombre grosero gente normal bien Woolwich es un lugar divertido aún después de los disturbios y Lee Rigby, principalmente de la zona local de clics, todavía muy pobre y disturbios y Lee creo que han convertido el lugar pueblo fantasma que quiere una mejor vigilancia
