Woody's Bar and Restaurant in Lincoln

When you pay £6.99 for a portion of chicken wings for your starter, you don’t expect 4 hummingbird wings on your plate when they arrive. 4 tiny wings for that price was just laughable. Two of us ordered the ribs for the main, was told they didn’t have any. Ordered a consolation burger instead. Burger was very average. For the price I expected a lot more. Onion rings on the top were cold. Others had mixed reviews of the food, some positive, some negative. Finished my main to see not one table but two being brought ribs. I thought they were out?! All in all the service was very okay, the quality was very okay, but the value for money was pretty shocking. I will never not be bitter about both my 4 tiny wings and the magic ribs that just appeared after I ordered them. Shan’t be returning.

Many thanks to everyone at Woodys from the Lincolnshire Gliding Club, Strubby for looking after anll our Members this evening at the end of our flying week. Good food, excellent service, friendly and helpful staff and very reasonable prices. Thankyou, look forward to next time

Six of us came for celebration meal at short notice. Service very quick and staff very polite. Food very tasty. Husband ordered off specials menu. Chicken chorizo in white wine sauce, he said it was amazing. The ribs and chicken combo for me absolutely beautiful. Would definitely recommend you visit. Compliments to the chef.

I had the full English breakfast and it was spot on. It was nice and hot and the quality was very good. The staff were friendly, the coffee was very good also

Visited with hubby to treat him after an operation ( first day out). We both ordered z sandwich platter. Hubby ordered fish finger sandwich platter with a portion of chips. Platter arrived with not a fish finger in sight. A slab of battered fish!!!!!! I asked hubby if it was ok, he said it was tasty, but chips were cold. I said we should say something. He said if he did he would have to wait for new chips and his sandwich would go cold. My prawn sandwich was ok, but ropey brown tinged salad. When we went to pay, waitress Sked if all ok? I said that hubby's chips had been cold. She said she would mention to the kitchen. Said without much concern or conviction. Aanyed by the response, so when I got home I emailed Woodthorpe no response as yet. Hence review.

Ordered king prawn cocktail it came out as a plate of shrimps I then ordered fish and chips and the batter was like a Yorkshire pudding mix and the fish was not very fresh Never again the place has gone down hill

The Woodthorpe site is absolutely beautiful, we thought woodys would be the same with it being on the Woodthorpe site. However, this was not the case…Woodys was extremely run down, the restaurant wasn’t what you’d imagine a restaurant to be, it was just a large room with random tables and chairs placed in it. The food wasn’t anything to write home about, it was cheap pub food so good if that’s your kind of thing. I had the margarita pizza, which was okay…the homemade tomato base sauce was tasty however the pizza base itself was solid! My other half had gammon, chips and egg. The gammon was extremely fatty! More fat than edible meat…all good if that’s your kind of thing, but definitely wasn’t ours. The staff at Woody’s didn’t look like they wanted to be there at all, no one had a smile on their face. It was quite off putting to be honest. Not somewhere I’d visit again, however it is convenient for people staying on the Woodthorpe site.

Stayed at this park three times now always go to woodys , the food is consistently fantastic , dog friendly areas a bonus , the staff & food amazing , Jamie stood out as a professional member of staff & new manager ( to us ) very accommodating and can’t rate them enough 10/10

We booked this establishment for our Christmas party, what a massive disappointment, none of the staff where interested in customer satisfaction, the whole evening was lacklustre, devoid of any Christmas spirit, the food service was poor, the food wasn't as terrible as the service, but wasn't of great quality, meals arrived late leaving people eating alone, then we moved through to the entertainment room, surely it should be called the escape room, as we all just wanted to get out as quickly as we could, the laziest DJ I've ever come across, music was played on a loop so was repeated, no festive spirit whatsoever, more atmosphere at a wake, then the bar... where do you start, poor staff, no leadership, the slowest service I've ever seen, so it was even hard to drown our sorrows, as a party night it failed on every single level, people wasted their hard earned money on an evening that was designed to line the owners pockets with the smallest cost, disappointed isn't a strong enough description, NO we won't be returning.

Table for 7 booked a couple of weeks ago. 3 out of 7 starters cold, so returned . Calamari was not good. Ordered mains at the same time as the starters, but only informed no pie left, not at this point, but not long before mains came out, so one of the guests had to quickly choose a different main course. Another side order came out as plain chips, should have been upgraded Katsu curry fries, so had to be sent back. Ordered a stacker burger, which didn’t arrive with the rest of the order, and had to inform them what the missing meal was when they saw one of the party didn’t have a main meal in front of them, so they asked what what was missing, hence the rest of the party had finished, and others nearly finished their mains before the burger was then cooked and sent out. Chicken on chicken and chorizo salad very dry. Have been to Woodys on several occasions, and always had good food and service…..unfortunately not last night! Totally spoilt birthday celebrations, and based on last night’s food will certainly not be in a hurry to return.

As frequent diner at Woody's, I chose a lasagne with a side of chips. I have had this twice in the last six months. The Meal arrived piping hot with chips already on the plate. They usually come in a bowl which can vary from small to large? As it was still bubbling I proceeded cautiously. As I cut through the cheese and pasta. I only found a tomato sauce. The meat content was virtually non existent. The sauce was lovely nevertheless. This lasagne was nowhere near what I expected from previous visits. I suspect that in portioning up, only sauce was in the pan and was still used despite the absence of meat. In my experience, it is better to add the sauce after the meat portion. (In a commercial setting. ) I am very disappointed as this is usually a good choice. As for the side of chips, we'll not up to the usual portion or presentation.

Visited a few times this week while staying on site - for drinks or food. Staff were friendly. Menu is very reasonably priced had the beef brisket with mash veg , burger , hunters chicken , rib n wings, and kids meals over the week which had choice of two sizes and a drink really good value. Tables all clean ready set up , sauces ect Watched a great singer on the Saturday night there's a Kids play area outside. Toilets clean. Dog friendly tables also. Hopefully will be returning next year for our holiday !

Lovely place nice surroundings waited over 50 minutes for our meal only to be told they had not got what was ordered. No explanation no apologies. Been here a couple of times before....... Won't be returning .

My husband and I have used this place many times either drinks or lunch. It was so clean then. However the last 2 visits the outside is dirty. Tables absolutely filthy. Saturday asked for cloth to clean table . I appreciate maybe staffing but this lovely place going down hill. Staff are so nice . Surely management can sort it.

Good portions plenty of choice with a veggie option. Restaurant well spaced. Service was slow but staffed apologised and responded when challenged ( it was end of lunch and they had been busy so kinda forgot we were still there)

Popped in for lunch. I chose the halloumi burger whilst my husband chose the burger stack. Both meals were delicious and very reasonably priced. The staff were attentive and polite and we were made to feel welcome. Will definitely be visiting again!

After such an excellent recommendation we stopped here for food on route to Sutton on sea for the week as they are dog friendly. Table service for drinks and food was prompt but then it went downhill. Firstly they got drinks order wrong bringing rose wine instead of red wine. My mum ordered veggie lasagne with salad but it arrived with chips. Salad was brought when asked. I had the gammon steak priced at £10.99 is very over priced as it was a horrible piece of fatty meat. I've had better from the supermarket. We won't be visiting again.

Really dissapointed with the venue it has got very shabby, tables and chairs in the function room are all scuffed and peeling used to be a lovely pleasant room to sit in but looks like no pride is taken in there at all .I was really upset as I took family and friends with me and I had been saying how lovely it was but was shocked when I went in not sure if there has been a change of owners The food was average good portion sizes but nothing special

Stayed at woodthorpe for a long weekend so had to try the bar /restaurant. It’s a very spacious place very clean and tidy. The bar has a good selection of beers spirits and a couple of real ales reasonably priced. We were given a big table in the conservatory very nice and bright. The food was excellent big portions,and the staff very friendly. Good value typical pub food.the breakfast was ok but not the best but restaurant is well worth trying.

Woodthorpe hall has a big car park.Its resturant could be nice but like it's sister garden centres the food is overpriced and poor.The cafe itself is dingy and the heating leaves a lot to be desired.

We went here for a family dinner out and I was pleasantly suprised.As well as the set menu there is a specials board. The bar was well stocked and the barman doubled as wait staff in this quiet evening but was very attentive.The food was good with my only niggle being salad was served when vegetables would have been better.We had no room for dessert, so I can't comment on those.The restaurant is part of the Woodthorpe Leisure Park and the nearby garden centre is not to be missed.
