Cafe Debenhams in Lincoln

Nice hot and tasty breakfast. All freshly prepared. A good selection of condiments.All cutlery clean and tidy. Very polite and friendly staff. Well worth the long haul upstairs. A nice atmosphere and excellent views out the windows. Free WiFi.

I've been here before, back in 2015, and it hasn't improved. I was shopping downstairs and decided to have a coffee and a light-bite before I left.The place is 'tired', noisy and the floor dips when people walk past, causing the table I was at to rock.The staff were OK, but again not as good as other Debenhams restaurants.I don't visit Lincoln often, but I have notice quite a lot of cafes and restaurants in the city so I doubt very much that I would come here again.

The worse lunch ever! Sunday lunch was boiled veg till it had no colour left, tasteless food. The girl that served had gloves on but she picked something off the sole of her shoe then carried on serving. If you can’t cook meals then don’t serve them stick to sandwiches and snacks!

We always call into the cafe because it's convenient. The coffee and toast is excellent before embarking on our shopping expedition. The staff are polite and friendly and prices are reasonable.

I had a meal here yesterday when I was in Lincoln, The food was fresh and tasty and hot, The only thing I can fault was my drink I think the fizz had run out, Good value and clean .

We enjoyed an Americano and a soya flat white with a slice of chocolate and orange cake, which was identified by a green leaf logo. The price was reduced significantly by the cake and coffee offer which kicks in after 2:00 pm. The cake was lovely and the staff were very friendly and chatty. There were no vegan savoury options but the member of staff I spoke to was keen to have suggestions posted on the website, such as vegan panini, scones, ciabattas and sandwiches. The cafe is spacious with comfortable seating and a selection of local scenes displayed on the walls.

I haven't been in a department store cafe for over 40 years, so this was a bit different for me ... the place was clean and tidy and the servers where friendly enough.But there's a limited menu, all the hot dishes were over-cooked, sitting under stay-warm lamps, so it all looked rather crispy. There was nothing wrong with the baked potato & cheese I had, but prices are too expensive for the quality of food served.

The flooring has been changed since I was last here and it looks great. The tables were clean, but not the seating. No problems with the cakes we chose but I think that chipped teapots should be thrown out.

You could not ask for a better lunch if you are in Lincoln town centre, very tasty, friendly staff, and a great lunch. Recommend the pork sandwich

Big, spacious room, but a bit dull. Nice coffee, but food doesn’t look anything out of the ordinary.

The coffee at Debenhams is always great. As long as I don’t need to eat (I am a Coeliac and the choice of gluten free food is very poor) I would choose to have a coffee here. It took us 4 table moves yesterday before we found a clean seat and table at 11.15 am. It was obvious that the floor had not been swept- maybe from the day before and are the easy chairs ever cleaned?

I often come here to eat with my grand daughter and great granddaughter due to their being excellent baby facilities and plenty of space for prams. Staff are always helpful and friendly especially one young girl who knows my drink order off by heart. Lovely clean restaurant!

The worst lasagne I have ever eaten. Bland watery beef mix, pasta more like mashed potato than anything else.

Are here on a Tuesday lunch time. Ordered turkey soup And a main course. Hot. Very nice. Restaurant a little noisy. Staff very helpful.

Popped in to the restaurant in Debenhams while we were shopping in Lincoln. It’s a nice open plan space with air conditioning, so you don’t feel crammed in. There were some nice choices of food available from light bite snacks to main meals, so something for everyone. We had the toasted sandwiches which the staff warm up for you and then bring to your table.They were very tasty and went down a treat.All in all, a nice lunch.

I had been here once before a couple of years ago, and been delighted with their selection of gluten free main courses and desserts. So, on a trip to Lincoln, this was my first choice of café. That was the positive.Sadly, on this occasion, there were no gluten free cakes, and no listings of gluten-free lunch items. We asked a member of staff what was available for me. He was new, so had to ask his supervisor who was busy talking to other members of staff. Eventually he came back to us and said they didn't have anything special, and then his supervisor said that we would just have to look in the allergy file, and walked off. We did look in the file, there was very limited choice. Regardless, we may have had something had we seen any reassurances that the staff were clear on cross contamination issues, or appeared eager for our custom. We had neither and left.This was a real shame, as so many restaurants are now clued up on specific dietary requirements, and I was disappointed that such a large chain of stores are falling behind.
