Very quite , usually a busy pub but seemed very empty

As a regular I would recommend this pub prices are reasonable , food.brillant , staff are lovely Took my kids to their kids party and it was well presented and amazing for the kids will defently carry on going to the events and carry on going to the woodman things for all the family even dogs!😀💙

I visit here at least 2/3 times every week for lunch with different family and friends for food and I have to say now Ali has taken back over it's back to becoming a family orientated community pub 😊 Well Done Bar staff are always helpful and friendly

A Pub with No Beer. Visited 2pm 30th July 2024, on entering on a very warm day noticed there was no one in the pub apart from 3 members of staff, one with a laptop out on the end of the bar, seemed to be having a meeting. One of the young female staff asked what I wanted to drink, asked what lagers had they got. Bierra Morretti had a glass over the pump so that was a no go. Offered Carling and Cruzcampo, the staff tryed to pour carling and gave up due to not coming through. Said I will have Cruzcampo that was frothing all over, the young staff said it's been like this all day we have nothing on draft. All I can serve you is a bottle. At that said leave it I will go elsewhere, I can drink bottle beer at home. Very disappointed, this is the 2nd time I've tried this pub since new ownership. 6th August 2024 on social media FB pub advertised closed due to unforeseen circumstances. Email was sent to Marstons 30th July 2024, and still no reply 6th August 24.

We brought some residents from the local nursing home for lunch,Ali who was behind the bar was very helpful and pleasant,and made room for us with the wheelchairs.

Visited the Woodman today with residents from Netherton Green Care Home for some lunch and drinks. Staff were very friendly and helpful and the food was lovely! Thank you😊

Absolutely disgusted that your staff refused to serve my 16yr old daughter who asked for a GLASS OF WATER on her way home from college, particularly as it is a very warm day! She was told she wouldn't be served as she's not 18, didn't realise there was an age restriction on WATER!!! Do better.

Haven't been here for as while for food as had a couple of bad meals thought we would try it as a new manger there food was superb cooked and served lovely

I'm a little lost for words. All the staff seem to be disappearing, along with customers! Yet another new owner in but the same old mistakes being made. The place is still dirty, still in need of a tart up in general and the (remaining) staff seem more interested in pouring their own drinks rather than the customers. Waited 10 minutes to be served when there were only 3 other people in the whole pub. This pub has changed hands so many times recently but no one seems to have a clue. Marston's are ruining get another pub with their clear lack of interest or investment. Either put the effort in, do it up and put in a good manager or knock the place down!

As a regular we often come in for a drink and occasionally food. We have just ate the nicest meal we have probably ever eaten in here. Two different steaks cooked to perfection. Fast service. Will definitely be eating here more often.

Visited this pub today(12/6/24)for the 1st time since 2017.. Excellent food , reasonably priced, pleasant atmosphere. Will definitely be returning very soon .Can highly recommend it

My first time at the pub yesterday and I had a great time! I didn’t have food but drinks are decent prices for a marstons pub and the staff were lovely. They’ve recently had a new manager come in and I think she’s doing an amazing job! Can’t wait to come in on the weekend for the karaoke disco 💃🪩🎤

Family friendly pub. With great facilities for watching sports. Very reasonably priced. With a stunning beer garden. The food is absolutely delicious. I would highly recommend the woodman to anyone!

We visited today due to not visited for a while due to other places locally to eat. We had been told the woodman had new owners and to give it a try. On arrival the carpark was pretty quite, the entrance is not very appealing due to the stink of smoke and something else between the front door and the main front door. "something needs either repainting/decorating perhaps it's the entrance carpet giving off a stench. Old icebucket full of fag ends and very stinky just outside the front door, think that needs getting rid of I know it's a pub but no one had smoked that much since opening this morning. We carried on into the pub and noticed it's not been done up or renovated since previous owners, in fact missing items from behind the bar missing possibly a TV due to wires/cables hanging down. We ordered 4 drinks and 4 meals, on average each meal is approx £10 not particularly cheap to say it's a Marston owned pub. The meals was average compared to quality from other surrounding pubs serving food. Saying all the above I do hope the new manager and staff can make a go of this pub, and get Marston to spend some money on doing the place up.. Marston are known in the midlands for running pubs into the ground and closing them for good. I know this pub had a live band on at the weekend and karaoke planned for most Saturdays. Hope to visit again in the future, and see some improvements in what I noticed on this visit.

Visited the woodman on Saturday night and what a great night we had , me and my friends were made very welcome by Graham and his staff and to make things better there was live music on , will definitely be going there again 9/10

This really is a lovely pub with lovely and helpful staff, nothing was too much trouble. Food was delicious and prices excellent. Highly recommend.We visited on Thursday last week and will be back.

Lovely early lunch spent at the woodman today. Bar ladies were friendly and welcoming and the food tasted as good as it looked. Glad I gave the place another try since new management have taken over.

Not at all what it used to be since taken over. If u like foul language and the smell of weed and drugs then this is the place for you . Absolutely terrible pub .

Utterly disgusting. Dirty, badly run, drugs everywhere. Ordered 2 different drinks to be told they didn't have them... Couldn't even get a coke. Don't waste your time or money!

Poorly run. Went in on a busy Saturday lunch time and there was only one member of staff running the entire pub! She was doing her best but one person in a pub that size just isn't enough. I asked to speak to the manager and was told that they had "gone out". Simply not good enough. We enjoyed our food but won't be going back after what we witnessed. Shame, as it used to be a lovely well run place to go for a bite to eat with the family.

First time in this pub. Beer garden was a mess with a rat running by the bin, empty glasses on the tables. Ordered some food before we saw this. Ordered chicken wings and ribs sharer and garlic mushrooms. When the waitress brought the plate over she asked if everything was ok, I said no we haven’t got the ribs. She said oh they’ve ran out so we have given you extra chicken wings! They should have come and told us first so we had the chance to order something else. The owner then came by the table and asked if everything was ok, I said no we didn’t get what we ordered and he said but I’ve given you extra chicken wings instead, the ribs are so bad you wouldn’t eat them so we’ve taken them off the menu! No apology or anything. Extremely disappointed, will not be going back!

Now has new owners who r both very rude refuse people to use there bathroom with continent problems I was asked to leave pub for no reason just cause there staff don't like me and refused to serve me under age drinking in there drug use by owners late night attics with owners and customers after hours no chef so no meals the place has gone down since last owners need closing down the land lady Lilly wotton and her boyfriend haven't got a clue tbh they r both very rude threatening customers and barring them from the pub just cause there staff don't like them no other reason

Service was friendly and attentive, couldn't apologise more for the slight wait on food, which we didn't mind as it was delicious and really reasonable for the price! Will visit again. I had the Philly cheese steak and it was very good!

Brilliant afternoon had by all only thing missing was a Steam Engine the day I was there no Steam .

Lovely birthday party. The food was off the menu and we all chose differently. The kiddies menu read very flexible so they could choose just what they wanted. The staff were very helpful and patient with us. A good time was had by all. We will definitely going again.

Staff were friendly. The pub was clean. The food was ok. Unfortunately, the burger was on the dry side, and eating the fries made my jaw ache. Shame really.

Went on recommendation about the food. Couldn’t fault the food. Sadly, if you’re not local, you have no idea how much filthy bad language and shouting level stories about sexual activity you have to endure whilst you eat. Totally disrespectful to everyone else. Management stood about doing nothing to keep louts in check. To compound the issue, at least three males were vaping in the eating area. I can imagine on big sports nights it’s a great atmosphere and once again, the food was very good. We won’t be returning and they probably won’t miss us. Shame really.

I have visited this venue several times since the new owners have taken over. The food is superb, the staff are wonderful and the atmosphere is great! Joined them tonight for a game of their usual Sunday bingo... brilliant! Such good fun and great prizes. I'll be going back next Sunday for another go! 100% recommend this pub!

Nice find. Was seeing family in area and popped in. Team were friendly and food really good quality and value. Will have to pop in again when next there.

Please do not visit here, especially for food. We walked into the pub after having pre booked a table. My husband who is a big man and Asian was given several filthy looks by one of the barmaid. We were lead to a filthy table, which was then given a cursory flick with a cloth after we asked for it to be cleaned. The starters were ok aside from the cheap margarine instead of the usual butter. The mains were produced and were not good. My steak was tough and when I asked where my onion rings were I was told, 'oh, we've run out'. My husband's meal was curry, again something was missing. I queried the lack of popadums and was told, 'none left.'If I hadn't mentioned the missing components the staff would not have, let alone apologised or offered something as a replacement. To top it all, one of the many tiny black flies that were plaguing us flew into his rice. Our friends fish and chips were passable but our other friends lasagne was said to taste like a £1 Iceland one. Overall this was a dreadfully disappointing experience.

Come in for the first time this Thursday evening, 2 lovely girls on the bar Allie and Elizabeth, they were very smiley throughout our whole visit, having a laugh and a joke with me when ordering my food and drinks. They kindly asked me to leave a review for them and made a joke about it, I didn’t mind as there service was very good and has made me definitley want to come back again in the future!! Fantastic customer service and a very welcoming place. Food was great we had the curry club deal which we thought was a bargain! Well done Woodman 10/10!

Reasonable choice on a pretty comprehensive menu the service was not bad drinks pretty generic but as expected nothing to moan about really it was ideal for a quick pub meal can’t fault it but it’s Marstons so it should be a fair standard

The Woodman is quite a large one room pub with good selection of drinks and an excellent food menu which does not cost the earth. There are big screen TVs showing sports and a bowling green outside. Staff are very friendly and service tends to be quick and efficient. A great place for decent food and drinks.

I had the pleasure of doin an 80s disco here last night. The pub it's self is set out perfect. It's great for kids inside as there's plenty of grab machines and arcades and outside a lovely play area and park. Chris and jake who run the pub make you feel welcome and have a great stocked bar at great prices. I had the pleasure of trying one of there beef roasts and it's divine also with a deal 2 for 10 pound this place is well worth a try and is going places. Hope to go back soon

The four of us used to go to the Woodman for a meal for many years on a very regular basis. Unfortunately the food deteriorated gradually until we reached the decision to go elsewhere as the quality of the meals simply was no longer acceptable.

Been a while since visiting for food, the last visit about 1 year ago the food was terrible, the place itself was run down... Staff not the best.

As I work In a Marston’s pub itself I’m very critical and always find something to moan about, in this case I couldn’t, the food was amazing and everything was as it should be. The drinks and atmosphere was great and was a great lively pub to be in.. I would definitely recommend this pub and also use it again in the future

Came here with my girlfriend for a meal had 2 courses each food was great and the lady who servrd us was pleasant and our waitress was very helpful will definetly be coming back here.

Visit here with family and friends. Nice pub with a wonderful atmosphere. The girls that work there make the place always got a smile on there face. Food wasn't always the best but has improved loads since the young girl who used to work on the bar started doing the kitchen

I came in on Wednesday 8th at about 2ish with my mum, nan and children. Was impressed with the menu and service at the bar was quick. Girl with brown hair served me and she was very smiley. Thought the food may take a while to come out as it was busy but I was pleasantly surprised with the waiting time. Food was hot, well presented and tasted lovely. The waitress with black hair was very friendly and made sure we were happy with our meals. I hadn’t been in the Woodman for a while because I had a couple not so good experiences before, however I will be returning as often as I can now because the experience was very good. Impressed with the staff and also the food presentation and waiting time has also improved loads since my last visit. Very good
