Woodies At The Barn in Eastleigh

Do not visit this bar. I went there last year and despite typing my car reg in their tablet, I still got a ticket from a company. The company didn’t send the ticket to me, and then I got another letter saying I’m late to make payment which means I’ll be charged for the full money. I tried to appeal and then the ticket company sent my details to another company. And now I’m being contacted by another company that won’t even let me appeal and is now threatening to give me a CCJ for this. I called woodies to discuss this but they wouldn’t help and somehow my data has been passed around from one company to the other. I now have a random company harassing me for a parking ticket which I shouldn’t have got in the first place

A warm welcome on a cold and wet day. Started with a lovely bottle of delicious Zinfandel wine. The food that followed was divine! The best Chowder I’ve ever had, (better than Boston USA). Sandwiches are lovely too, with pre seasoned fries, scrumptious. My partner’s pulled Beef bourguignon starter and pizza were lovely. Portion sizes are generous. the prices very reasonable. Great selection of food on the menu. Bonus, loving the playlist background music. Lots of free parking, as per signage, you simply need to give your car registration. Lots of outside seating too, (for warmer days). Toilets very clean. We’ll be back for sure. Highly recommend!

Fish and chips were great .Could not have had better . Service ok and could have been better . A more friendlier approach ,coming to the table after hubby had finish his drink !! Ask g if he required another .When paying he asked for the bill which came to the table ! He paid at the bar !

Went for a few drinks and food. Apparently as it is a Bank Holiday Monday they only do a roast. Have to say it was the worst roast dinner I have had in many years, not one element on that plate was executed well. I ordered the slow roast belly of pork , it was presented as fatty slabs of pork belly chops, nothing was rendered down and hardly any meat to be enjoyed, it was supposed to come with seasonal veg, roast potatoes pork crackling, apple sauce, there was no crackling or apple sauce. Roast potatoes were made from New potatoes,(they were the worst) don't get me started on seasonal veg, all the lovely fresh veg that is available at the moment and what do we get served!! One roasted carrot and a small amount of french green beans, nothing else!!. Absolutely appalling for £16.95. Don't waste your money, Prince Consort just down the road is a little cheaper but it's excellent with an abundance of fresh veg and proper Roasties.

Cute little place, great atmosphere, tasty food and the vegan options are great too. The super salad was really tasty Waiters and waitress had a quirky sense of humour and friendly It'll definitely be a new favourite of mine 😊 The only reason I didn't give the service 5/5 is that the glasses were a bit dirty, one that we were given had traces of lipstick on.

Met friends for food and drink, had a parking fine for £100 come through a week later. There was no clear signage of parking restrictions for the premises car park nor where we told by any staff members! Will not be returning to this establishment because of this, I feel seen off. This has also happened to others I know who live locally to the bar, very sneaky. They should train staff to tell customers or make it more clear what you need to do. As I said there was no signage for this or we would have seen it and put our reg in, this is a clear problem at this place and they will lose a lot of customers over this problem.

First visit today. Nice place. Tried the chicken roast. Unfortunately, I was hugely disappointed as the size of the chicken on my plate was extremely small... I did mention this to the waiter and he said this is a normal portion. I would have thought a manager of the chef would have come to see me about my dissatisfaction, but no one came over. I also found the roast very bland. I don't think I will be going there again.

Verry bad experience I only stoped in the car park to make sure I had keys they was so rude giving me dirty looks so I said why am I getting dirty looks for them one guy the chef came over to me in uniform and he physically slapped me in my back twice and when I proceeded to say you can’t do that that’s assault don’t toutch me you can’t touch me he tryed to put his hand on me again as he’s telling me your on your bike now f of when I’m fully legit and I go this this place quit often and the way I’ve been treated today is disgusting

Starters were really amazing, the main courses were sadly a let down. I had beetroot falafels and a superfood salad and felt it was a very dry course, way too many falafels and don’t think the salad was not what I would expect of superfood. The chicken burger was good but couldn’t taste the marinade. We felt that we were forgotten, we had to ask someone to take our order as we’d been waiting more than 15 mins and the restaurant wasn’t busy otherwise it would have been understandable. Also my friend doesn’t like sachets of sauce as he feels it cheapens the meal and we had to cut them open with a knife.

This was my first experience at Woodies, (Easter Sunday so only roasts) I came with a party of 11 who had been before (Sunday roast about 5 weeks ago) Everyone said that the food was worse than the time before, which they loved then. Normal roast had gone up from £14.95 to £16.95 and the chicken was a leg! Not much meat so not worth the £2.00 extra. I had the small plate which was £8.95 on the menu but I was charged £9.95. The roast potatoes were over cooked as was the vegetables A choice of 3 desserts which didn’t look very appealing. Won’t be going back or recommend.

Enjoyed a delicious lunch here . We had the lamb tagine , it was perfect . The service was excellent 👌 Loved it

I have been to this facility a few times , the food is nice and friendly staff , however imagine my shock when I received a parking fine of up to £100 or £60 if paid within 14 days , this must be new as I haven’t had this before and what makes me more angry is the place was more or less empty on my visit and the staff were stood at the bar , I parked out the front so they must’ve seen me park and not one person told me, I did not see any machine on the bar to prompt me to put in my registration number and certainly did not see anything on the land about parking . As a result I won’t be going back again the most expensive coffee I’ve ever had

This has become our go-to place whether popping in for a quick drink and tapas/quick bites or meeting friends for a meal. Always a good atmosphere and never been disappointed with food or service.

Lovely atmosphere and food was very tasty, I had the chicken burger which was delicious with chips! Waited a bit too long for the food to come out and when it did it was cold. Chips are inside cold metal tins which is probably why. Probably a good idea to warm tins just a tad! Or get food out quicker. Service was good, but very serious faces~almost like they didn’t want to be there. Wasn’t impressed with having optional gratitude added to the bill. I’d like to decide on that thanks. Overall a really great place. Could be perfect though 👌

Lovely place, but I don't think the food was the best, went for my daughter's birthday. My dad ordered the pizza which I found we needed a chainsaw to cut it with it was terrible to cut, maybe a pizza cutter like I have seen in other places. I had the Bruschetta but the bread was so hard you could barley bite it when I did I nearly chocked as the bread was so dry. Didn't find the staff happy at all, could of been more friendly considering they are front of house

My partner and I decided to have a walk around the woods, of course we wore walking boots and raincoats. We came out to this lovely looking barn and decided to have some wine and a light dinner. To our surprise we were rejected the entry, even if the place was empty and had no customers, we were told that they are super busy and are fully booked. This encounter and what we saw did make us feel like we were rejected due to our outfits not being classy enough for them. Maybe next time you can politely say that there is a dress code instead of lying about being busy and booting is off the premises.

the place looked really nice but it was small. The staff were nice and kind but service did take forever. The food was good we both had the fish and chips and some mac and cheese bites. the fish was beautiful but the mac and cheese bites didnt really have any flavour. We asked for the bill and it was brought over but we waited a further 30 minutes to be seen again to pay, and took us asking for the card reader. Id probably come again but not for food as it was quite expensive, Would be a nice venue for private hire

Impressive. Great value in terms of food and pricing. Great, attentive service. A nice festive experience. Return visit with elderly parents. Really good service and nothing appears too much trouble. Nice location and feel to the place. A really good addition to the area. Shame the Camden Hells has been replaced though.

We've frequented Woodies quite a bit and never been disappointed with the atmosphere, food or service. Hence we booked my mums wake here on the 9th Jan 2024. I'm so glad we did. The food was wonderful and plentiful and the staff were great. Thank you for making a sombre occasion very pleasant and for the wide variety of fabulous food that everyone complimented. Along with the lovely service your staff provided. We will see you soon under happier circumstances 😊

This looks like a lovely place but the food and service don't live up to expectations. It took a while to get served by a reasonably indifferent waitress and then everything took a while to come despite it not being that busy. I had a tagine which was reasonable. My partner had a burger which was dry and didn't taste that great. It's not what I expected but I may give it another go as it's fairly local.

Liked the little place till I got a hefty parking find for parking outside the building,,, badly lit outside so you don’t see any of the signs and no one mentions you need to sign to cover you from getting this huge fine. Phone the bar up and they said wasn’t anything to do With them. Strange that as the family own the land I parked on !!!!! Won’t be going back. SB

Food for our group of five arrived promptly. It was hot and tasty on a miserable day. The room was warm to my relief. Christmas decorations look good.

watch out you dont get a parking fine, whilst parking in Woodies car park grange road Netley. They say they dont own the car park. What a put off, going somewhere you would like to meet Mates and have a drink, then get a fine. Even at 6.38am in the Morning.

We've been here many times, and it consistently delivers. The food is amazing and the staff are friendly and welcoming. Just go.. you won't be disappointed!

This an amazing place to go to enjoy a fantastic meal with friends and family.

Bit disappointed. We both shared 2 starters. Meatballs lovely, but only 3 small pieces of halloumi for £4.50. We both had a roast. Beef was gorgeous and the roast pots. Yorkie very dry and the beans and broccoli were rock hard. I are my veg as was starving and my partner left his. No where near a proper portion size. Even with starters we both left hungry

I have been to this place a couple of times and I love visiting. Staff are friendly and helpful. Everything on the menu is made fresh and what I have tried has tasted good. Added extra, easy parking. Would recommend.

Met workmates here one evening after work and have since received a parking fine in the post. There were no warning signs or parking meters that warned us about any restrictions being in place. No one in the bar told anyone in our group either. Not at all happy

This review is long overdue for the wonderful Wedding Reception that we had at Woodies' in June last year. Woodies went above and beyond with the organization beforehand - communication was simple and effortless. Food and service on the day was amazing - we felt looked after so well, and in such a delicate way that we could focus on enjoying the event without a single worry. All of our guests were really impressed, and so were we. The atmosphere, the stylish premises themselves and the quiet, green location was just perfect for us. Thank you so much to Connor and all the staff for all the work you've put into making our special day so perfect.

Expensive drinks. Poor service. Frosty atmosphere. Seemed like we were gatecrashing a locals pub. The last time we went there it was shut on a Saturday night for a private party. Nuff said!

Our first visit and we definitely be back. The service was brilliant and friendly. The food was excellent and the live music was a nice touch. See you again soon.

This has become a regular part of our lives right now - the 'girls' go for a walk and then partners with dodgy knees join them for a coffee (with the occasional bacon roll thrown in). Always a genuine welcome and first class service. A new parking system introduced and the staff were very helpful in making sure we were registered ok - much appreciated. We will be back!

We had our wedding reception here on the 1st July and I cannot put in to words how amazing it was! From the food, to the service, to the organisation it was all first class. Special mention to Connor who was incredible from the initial email until the end, I cannot thank him and his staff enough for everything they did for us. Went for Sunday lunch. Had the Woodies roast beef followed by their homemade ice cream. Well cooked & presented. Friendly staff. Nice pleasant atmosphere. Recommended & will visit again when in area.

Popped in after visiting the fete just now. Ordered two cokes, the waitress (young, blonde) held the card machine out, I said "ohh sorry, where do I scan the card", "just on top" she replied ... "Ohh sorry I couldn't tell"... She then muttered under her breath "not like it tells you on the screen or anything" I said pardon and she said not to worry. I don't expect to be spoken to like that, I only came in because I thought it'd be nice to sit outside and have a drink as we were already there... To top matters off, my wife's coke was 'soapy' and mine tasted watery. We Definitely won't be back anytime soon.

Lovely food, live music, good service. I chose a small roast but didn't realise quite how small it would be - if only they had asked if I would like a Yorshire pudding! Dessert was delicious. Nice atmosphere and surroundings. Everyone else's meals were great, will choose differently when we go again.

Bright sunny evening sat in outside garden. Good choice of drinks. Shared a cheeseboard which was beautifully presented and plentiful. Little buckets of sauces a nice touch. Only thing that would have made the experience perfect would be if there were a few cushions available if required as the hard wooden seats a bit uncomfortable after being sat for a while.

Brilliant. 2 roasts (they do them on bank holidays as well as Sundays) and 2 lamb kebabs - all lovely. Cocktails good too !!

Sunday lunch was very nice apart frim the broccoli was raw. Staff very attentive and welcoming. Downside was being charged £2 .20 for a shot of lime and soda water. Also got charged for extras on the plate that we didn't have so we didn't leave a tip.

Visited on Friday evening for a bite to eat and a few drinks, but didn't book a table as didn't think it would be too busy.Arrived to be told that tables were all taken and that we would be looking at around a 90min wait.We chose to stay for a drink whilst deciding where to go to eat.Whilst working on our Plan B, a tentative waitress informed us that a table was coming free and that we could have that for around a hour before it was reserved.We stayed to have a lovely meal and a few more drinks.Hat off to the waitress for being excellent at her job and caring about her guests.A very pleasant visit.Will definitely be visiting again.

To respond to the managers reply. We did not get refused service anywhere at all. We left because we were refused ice cream because it was on a Childs menu. Do you know what hospitality stands for? With your response. I guarantee that you will closed down soon by refusing to acknowledge that it’s not about keeping a business open for half an hour in which you want to close to go home. You are to have every working including coffee machines until the doors are closed. You lost our business and also many more because I come from world where if I promise a service I will deliver. If you do not feel that you can afford to continue maybe you should open your doors to customers past closing hours to help fill your pocket instead of sending them away like they are not welcome. And also trying to make myself and a friend look like we must have been trouble. Very noble of you 👍🏻 Of course if your phone, tv and what ever your business pays for that your running is more important than growing a community around you.. then you carry on believing this is my fault as a customer who has just moved back to the area and is connected in so many ways. You had your chance to apologise. If this is the way hospitality is going then it’s no wonder everyone is struggling. Again! I wish you Good luck Myself and a friend turned up after a long day to have a glass of wine at 19:10pm. The bar closes at 20:00. We got told as we walked in that because they were empty they couldn’t serve us and that it was now closed. They had still tables full. I explained that it’s the customer that is important and I don’t understand why it’s so difficult to beable to enjoy living life just because someone wants to go home. I thought it was about building business and providing a place where everyone felt welcome. We are loosing our community and places to come together. We are disappointed but we hope that from loosing our business going forward that they will understand that driving to a bar that is suppose to be open til 20:00 means we waisted out time, excitement and fuel to get there. Maybe you shouldn’t have opening and closing times. Good luck

We had a lovely 3 course evening meal in Woodies, the staff were friendly and helpful and the atmosphere was relaxing. We'll definitely be returning.

We visited later after oon just as the sun was setting and the evening was a bit cold, we had the dogs with us so we sat outside and out of the way. However, the customer service was amazing, the lady serving us was very attentive, kept us with drinks on the table and kept checking in to see if we needed anything else. She was talkative and engaging in conversation. It's a rare find these days so top notch I have rated 4 and will probably upgrade this to 5 in the next visit. Only reason I haven't gone straight for 5 is that I have only experienced the venue once and not experienced inside yet. Great little friendly place. Highly recommend the experience

Great venue, held my husband's 40th there. Staff are great, very professional. Food was also excellent everyone had a great time.

We move to Woolston in January, visited here twice now, clean & comfortably with friendly staff & good food, well worth a visit.

Went to lunch with 4 friends. The service was rather slow, we found the music was rather loud. My choice of tuna was disappointing. However my friends enjoyed their salads.

I attended on Friday for a wedding celebration, the ambiance was fantastic, the service amazing and the staff were friendly, efficient and very helpful.

Tasty Roast dinner. Very attentive service. Great location!
