Flying solo, I needed a break from visiting family ! Only one customer present and a lady serving. I had a lovely pint of 6X in my own dimpled handle as none were available. I introduced myself, as she did, Molly, and we had a lovely conversation about life in general. From this, I could tell that she is passionate about her pub, and very keen for people to enjoy themselves. The interior was all kitted out for Halloween night. Another couple came in, and hellos were exchanged, all very friendly. Large car park and the toilets were fresh and clean. All in all, a very nice visit, lovely landlady, a decent pint at a good temperature and reasonable cost. Well done Molly.

We are so lucky to have The Pear Tree as our local pub. It is our go to for a friendly drink and the recent light bites menu has been amazing. Great beer garden and ducks and geese at the end of the garden to go say hello to. Very dog friendly, we often pop in with our dog and everyone knows his name. Pictures are a selection of a few of the meals we've had there recently. The ploughmans and the buffalo chicken wings have been a particular favourite of mine. But everything is always excellent and great sized portions. Check their Facebook for an up to date menu as it changes weekly as it is all fresh cooked. Thanks Pear tree team! See you again very soon!

Sunday roasts are back! So glad to be back at the Pear Tree for Sunday roasts. Varied, excellent, home cooked fayre as always. Great salmon salad followed by a smokey succulent lamb shank. Highly recommend this place to everyone. Oh, and I’ve always been warmly welcomed with my puppy. Dog treats at the bar, water bowls outside. Very dog friendly place.

Our dog dared to put a paw on the arm of the chair… and the manager then decided this was reason enough to shout at us all across the bar! The reason being…? Absolutely awful customer service from the manager which is such a shame because most of the customers are amazing…Tina…

I booked the refurbished skittle alley for a 50th party with catering. Molly and her team (she’d roped in her Mum and aunty!) totally exceeded our expectations. We’d arranged a chilli and buffet and it was superb and so generous adding curry and jackets to the endless buffet dishes. I expected a bit of a ‘beige’ buffet but it looked pretty healthy! Always attentive and friendly the team helped make my special evening a real success. Worth every penny for the food and the room hire was free. (Steamtown quoted double and I doubt they could have catered as well as the Peartree crew!) I also hope we got through most of the extra cask you’d ordered Thankyou so much Molly, Nyle and the family. I hope those who came will remember to come back at other times and spread the word. You helped make the night special. I know there’s a bit of ongoing work on the pub and hope it all goes to plan. Pubs like yours deserve to flourish after these last couple of years. Thankyou!

We went there as a change from the bar in the hotel. Prices were good and the drinks were as expected. Only thing missing were other customers. It's a shame to report that there were only four other customers in there apart from the bar staff on a saturday night at 8.00pm. I hope the locals start to use the pub or it is much busier during the day

I haven't visited the Pear Tree in a couple of years due to the Pandemic. I saw recently that they had opened back up for Roasts from September so I booked a place for my self and my family (table of 12) as a sort of reunion after many months of not seeing each other altogether. Molly (Pub manager) gave us a private area within the marquee for our event which was lovely. The food was a good as i remember and they even catered for the Dietary requirements of my two children that have dairy allergies. The staff were very attentive and kind and gave a special welcome to the children to make them feel at home. Between courses, we were able to wonder down to the duck pond and have a little look at the kitchen garden which i was told was used to make the soup starter that I had! Fantastic! This is a very friendly and welcoming pub, who have made a lot of excellent changes since taking over a few years ago. I look forward to visiting again one day.

Visited this pub a couple of Sundays ago for a roast and was quite easily the best roast I’ve had and at a good price. Due to dietary requirements I couldn’t have either of the starters on offer which the landlady and staff had no problem accommodating and made an off menu suggestion for me, which was amazing! Staff were polite, friendly, welcoming and always on hand for anything. Will definitely be booking in again.

We've visited here a few times and it's one if our favourites. The food is absolutely delightful - tasty, fresh, good portion sizes, and really reasonable! The staff are very friendly and helpful and the pub itself is beautifully decorated, clean and has a lovely atmosphere. You can tell the landlord/landlady put a lot of pride and effort into the look and feel of this place and the huge beer garden and ducks are a bonus! Thanks as always Pear Tree Inn ☺️

So happy that Roast dinners are back! By far the best lamb roast I have had, combined with a great atmosphere and friendly staff. If you are in the area give this little pub a try, they have plenty of options for seating and a nice garden to relax in with a pint after your meal. 10/10 thanks team!

This is without a doubt the best roast dinner I have had…I’m really fussy when it comes to roast and this is just amazing! The service is great and Molly the landlady is always so smiley and friendly. Also tried out the pie night which was equally amazing and can’t wait for burger night next week!

This pub is shocking, we can for Sunday roast and was abysmal at best, food was cold, given the fatty ends of meat and very old fashioned pub. When try to tell staff we were basically given the cold shoulder and ignored for the rest of our stay. Cutlery was dirty and my glass had lipstick all around the rim. The men's toilets were like a public toilet and the smell was horrendous, I have no idea what food hygiene rating they have but if the toilets are anything to go by I'd say not even a 1. My strong recommendation would be new staff, new owners and a new pub.

Don’t bother! Went to celebrate a special occasion, and despite them guaranteeing to cater for all dietary requirements, they poisoned our coeliac. They were violently ill for 4 days after visiting. Called t9 tell them, but the manager couldn’t care less, let alone apologise. Vowed never to return. Then I was invited to carvery lunch there last weekend. A year had passed so I thought I’d give them another chance. They didn’t deserve it. We were a pre-booked party of eight taking advantage of the two course carvery. Only two of the group managed to have the soup starter as this was the last of the soup available. We asked if there was more soup and was told some would be coming. After 20 minutes we gave up waiting and went straight onto the carvery. The plates were cold, they explained the plate warmer was broken. By cold, I mean ice cold. They do have a hot plate, but the plates were stored next to the counter. I’m sure if they want to, they could find a way! I took my serving of meat and then help myself the vegetables, sat back at the table, took my first bite, and everything was barely warm. I asked a waitress if they had a food thermometer, she looked at me and then just wandered away. Everyone at the table, found the same. Nobody’s food was hot. We decided just to finish up and leave as quickly as possible. As we finished the carvery, they finally replenished the soup. Unbelievable from start to finish. Absolutely diabolical. I’ve vowed again, never to return. This time I mean it.

Food is great for a cafe. Very large menu of quintessential british cuisine. Breakfast, snacks, lunch, dinners, sandwiches, plus more. Coffee is fantastic, and the flat white is pick of the bunch. Staff are very friendly and accommodating to you needs and nothing is too much for them to arrange. It can be very busy during midweek mornings, which is a testament to the quality of the place. Builders, students, mothers, business meetings, couples, elderly groups, and others. Worth a visit.
