Awesome chips with amazing portions

My daughter has just come in for a medium chips for £3.70 that I would call far from a medium nd they r cold nd were squashed in the polystyrene tray when put on paper it's a disgusting amount looks like om having toast!!

Chips stick to all the paper and you end up eating paper on your chips 👎 sausage ok no complaints

Popped in and got Fish N Chips, fried chicken, sausage and batter, and a steak and kidney meat pie. All very good. Friendly and reasonably priced.

Turned up to the fish and chips shop last night. I ordered serval items the cashier kept getting the order wrong. Paid then they forgot to add an item so had to pay again. Waited 20 minutes recieved food took it home. Played up the food, started eating the scampi I had ordered after a few pieces I realised it tasted off. It was watery and the scampi inside the batter was liquified, yuk!! My partners burger was also like eating plastic! Only ok part was the chips. To make matters worse the scampi has caused me to be ill with d & v, will never eat there again

I've noticed the portion sizes of the chips are going down still very nice though

Went in there today ordered a. Med cod and small batterd sausage 11.80 was charged I. Hand over a. 20 pound note I’m still waiting for my 8.20 charge witch I never received back

Arrived at 8.50pm, just before closing at 9pm. The guy serving offered fantastic customer service, fish cooked to order, tasty and great size portions of cod and chips. Would definitely recommend 👍

Went in to chippy to very lovely people even tho they were very busy they still had smile 😃 food was yummy not greasy cod bites was done perfect not overcooked and dressed it with vinegar yum 😋. Also had milkshake was good too

Great fish and chips, although seemed pricey - 2 x med fish & chips, 1 x small fish & chips, 1 x sausage & chips plus 1 x small mushy peas came to over £30. But maybe that's just the price of things these days...But can't fault the food, which was just lovely.

First time in Southampton and this place fit the bill for fish and chips, the choose were fresh and had the right amount of salt and onion vinegar 😀 The staff was friendly too

We hadn't had fish and chips here since it changed its name from "The Tall Ship" some time ago, when the quality was always good. I went in at 5pm and ordered 2 x cod and chips with a curry sauce. Once back at our caravan and eating it seemed that we may have had warmed up from dinnertime fish(don't know if that happens but that's how it seemed) the batter was awful, however the chips and curry sauce were first class. We have probably had food here a dozen or so times when visiting Hamble and this is the first time we have had cause for disappointment. Perhaps I should have taken it back but too much of a faff to drive there again. Luckily the large portions of chips were enough with the small amount of fish that was reasonable. I suspect that if I had had freshly cooked cod it would have been OK.

The service was not up to standard today not just for me, but the other customers too....if something on the warming plate has already been sold, please tell the customer....not after its being wrapped for someone else......normally you get "that needs cooking is that ok" I would of picked something else.....I also wasn't happy to find what I ordered wasn't listened too....it was such a good chippy

Skin on cod, pea fritter was just not a pea fritter, soggy batter where there was batter very greasy. When you don't often do take out was a very disappointing evening

I've lived locally for 40 years. But after moving to the Black Country their chips are so much better. However they don't do pea fritters, so I was looking forward to one when I came back for a visit. I was disappointed. They were flat. Not what they're supposed to be. Portions were good, just disappointed.

Stopped in for dinner for the first time and we were not disappointed! Lovely food with quick service, we will be back!

Best fish and chips etc in the area

We had a family take out from here this evening; haddock, chips, curry sauce, pea fritter and chicken nuggets. Everything was freshly cooked; the haddock had large flakes of fish, great chips and must comment on the curry sauce. Husband was told it was quite spicey. It didn't seem overly spicey, even the youngest liked it. It was the best curry sauce we have had; it was just that bit more flavoursome than anywhere else, delicious, don't change it!!

The best fish and chips near me. Portions are extremely generous and well cooked. Lovely moist fish in crispy batter and chips that aren't too soft and aren't too crispy. Delicious!

I've been coming here for over 20 years, both my son and daughter worked there at one stage. I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending them! Everything is cooked fresh with great service from all the staff. I have tried other places in the area and I always find them lacking, either in quality or service 😒

Best chippy!!! Never had a bad meal from here. Chicken, fish, sausage, fishcake, mushy peas, hot curry sauce and chips!! All very tasty, staff are so efficient and friendly. I won't use another chippy!!!! Thanks guys n gals 👍

Great selection (The cod bites are my favourite). The chips are just right, not too soggy like most other chippies. Also, two choices of curry sauce, normal & spicy!

Do great kids meals at a reasonable price and have 2 options for curry sauce (normal or spicy). Feels very friendly and helpful. Prices are good and food is always spot on. There is an award winning chippy nearby but I prefer this place!
