Ok food, without infamy or praise. To pay the bill they forced me to pay in cash because "we don't have a pos": it's nothing true, other customers paid pos. If you go, insist on paying by card! They have an ATM inside but it asks for too many commissions. Terrifying rudeness towards tourists.

Great food great athmosfere absolutely decent prices

Look at the food they serve you! We have to seperate all of the overcooked one on the site. Food also too salty. I choosed to complaint and they all claimed to be manager and ignore you. You dont have to say about whether im gonna go back here even for a slight chance ! Order an extra portion of ribs and all they serve me was 8 pieces of ribs with rice and nothing else. If you want to go to place where they dont deal with it and just choose to ignore you until you pay then do it. And for those who not come yet and read this you are welcome.

Great tasting food and it comes quick!

Really good food, amazingly large portions and good value for money. Only negative is they are cash only but have no signage to let you know this when you go in and staff don’t tell you until it’s time to pay. They have a free ATM inside but not everyone wants to pay cash, especially for me this caused some hassle later as it was a business expense

Thank you guys, I was passing through with my daughter (9) and we had dinner at this lovely restaurant. The food was delicious and my daughter enjoyed it. The service was excellent, the waitress are very friendly.

Wouldn't return have been here twice they do not know how to deal with big group bookings, the staff are very rude and also have no patience, at one point the team put the plate on the table and walked away. There menu prices are different online to what they are when you eat in which is ridiculous and they have said this is because there online menu is "takeaway". I will not be returning and I'm would recommend other don't go there. The food was not great and honestly not worth the money either.

Wood Oven, I found their Chicken and Lamb mixed platter very tasty. Quantity and quality was great. Highly recommend for good taste.

I visited this restaurant for lunch with a friend yesterday (Sept 14th, 2024). While the staff was friendly and efficient, the food left much to be desired. We ordered lentil soup and a Donner (lamb, chicken), along with a pint each. The lentil soup was very disappointing, the donner (both lamb and chicken) were awful. Living near Green Lanes in London, I’m accustomed to some great Turkish restaurants, so perhaps my expectations were high. Unfortunately, the meal was not worth the £30 per person we paid, and I won't be returning. Also, they don't accept card payments, so if you need cash, you might have to use the ATM on their premises(!?), which is quite unusual.

I got the £98 platter however we were very disappointed! Not enough chicken, lamb ribs, meat! But lots of rice and bulgur!!! We started dinner at 8:40pm weekday but that’s no excuse, service was poor! This used to be a good restaurant but it has changed

A nice Turkish place with outside sitting area. Ordered steak and seafood casserole. Both were tender and well balanced. As a goodwikl gesture we were served with snacks. Would come here the second time. Recommend for visiting.

Very authentic food was amazing the restaurant is very clean. The atmosphere was lively with a good mix of customers. The service was warm and friendly Good value for money all in all a winner. Would definitely come again when back in the area

Had great lunch at the restaurant and workers,named yasin.ali...ibrahim.and nuri.all the others were very welcoming, helpful and friendly . Ibrahim got some jokes and is very kind., ali is also kind , professional and honest (deeply appreciated) and Nuri our young buddy freshly started working and he's a hard working individual. Furthermore very friendly and helpful . Another shout out to Yasin who also works hard and , is friendly and has a warm smile . Thanks for the great lunch and the warm Ambiente.

The worst Turkish I’ve ever had portion sizes are tiny especially considering the price you pay wouldn’t recommend this place at all, they also only accept cash which raises red flags straight away they tell you to use a cash machine they happen to have in there restaurant yet another red flag what sort of restaurant has there own cash machines inside to me that screams scammers working there avoid this place at all costs there's better places to eat in the surrounding area this place is the worst

CASH ONLY...Ordered two sharing platters with starts and drinks. Service from staff was good with smiles in faces and patients when the kids changed their minds 3 times. Food was good. Not too oily or burnt with good flavour throughout. When it came to payment they then revealed to me they only take cash. At the end of our meal not when we first started to order. But they "conveniently" have a free cash point right next to the till. Bearing in mind the restaurant is on the high street and is a literal 2 min walk to any and every retail bank. I wouldn't have minded if I was told before hand but I have two under 3 years and I had to l3ave them in the restaurant while tsking out cash. Not going to return there but not a "bad" place to eat.

Restaurant sent out food that wasn't correct and food that I didn't ask for. Order was overcooked burnt, and not forgetting portion sizes of the meats shocking small! Restaurant filled each meal box with rice, which we didn't ask for or wanted completely incorrect order. And then Restaurant topped up with correct order, which we did asked for lamb doner, chicken doner, and chicken beyti 3 separate meal. They did this so they could save money by putting in less meat and more rice in each 3 boxes. It ended up being less than small size, not large size, which i paid for, because of the filled up rice. It was so bad, even the taste was disgusting. I had to bin it, and my family was unfed Wood Oven Turkish Restaurant refused to refund me. I spent over £49 order! Look at my clear evidence in the photos unbelievably shocking restaurant refused to refund me!

we didn't asked for rice? there was rice in each meal which we didn't asked for and was not stated in the food option. There shouldn't be any rice in our meals. Lamb doner was dry didn't taste right. All 3 meals portions was not large it was normal or small size! waste if £50! Sorry but we won't be ordering again. We chuck the food straight in the bin

Bluntly to say, the portion sizes are a joke. I have been dining here on and off over the years. The portion sizes used to be much bigger, bigger rice portion, bigger sea-bass as well. They get their fish from the local fishmonger in town and there are two sizes there, the small one and large one. They now buy the smaller sea bass, serve it and charge the same price as they did before. Diving into the rice portion, it used be one whole scoop akin to the size of a bowl but now, it's half a scoop and they spread it out to make it seem bigger than it is but it's a joke. Funnily enough, on the complete opposite spectrum, the big platters they do are full of rice but they have reduced the serving of meat / chicken etc. There also used to be steady supply of bread but now it's one basket and that's it. They used to bring out loads of bread. Service was good, atmosphere is good as usual but without good food or sizeable portions of food, there's no point coming here.

It's ridiculous and completely ruined the birthday atmosphere. In thia day and age....They do not take CARD payments... any tax avoiding experience, they have their own ATM inside the restaurant.... DO NOT use it. Go outside. Better still, DO NOT eat here! How we managed to pay a £400 bill with cash was so embarrassing as a family. Complete afternoon ruined!

The food was mediocre at best, the rice was bland and the only thing that saved the dish was the chicken/lamb shish or the donner. I personally had the creamy chicken which sounded quite appetizing. This dish was a disappointment. It consisted of chicken, mushrooms, peppers and a watery cream sauce. The dosh was accompanied with rice as well. All of the above was lacking in seasoning. The sauce was the real issue to be honest, if it was seasoned properly and not watery... the whole dish would have been lovely. Now the reason I have given the restaurant one star is because our booking was for roughly over 20 people and the service was all over the place. 1.The birthday girl's food arrived hours after everyone else. 2. Waiters were busy chatting and laughing and kept forgetting certain parts of people's order All in all I would not recommend this restaurant. For those of you who made it to the end of this very long review, thank you for reading.

If I could give no stars I would. Came in for a business meal a month ago and what brilliant food and service. Went back yesterday in work cloths, wow what a difference in service and food. After spending 14 hours with stomach cramps and watching your chef I'm now not surprised. I watched your chef take a leaf of lettuce from the display eat half of it and throw the other half back in the gastro. Wish I had of seen this before ordering. As someone who runs successful reastrants I've never in my 24years in the industry seen something like that. You refuse to take cards as you have a ATM inside, no where does it say cash only, but considering your not paying VAT it dosent surprise me. Oh and the VAT number you wrote on the receipt, by the way a legal requirement to have it on EVERY receipt doesn't exist as communicated to myself by my account team today as I can't claim VAT back for mine and my colleagues meal. Get it right or get shut down, expect a visit from EHO and HMRC

I'm neurodivergent and I don't get to go out a lot. So yesterday my husband and I wanted it to be special. When we got there the place was empty but the door was open. I was reluctant to get in tbh, because I heard some restaurants use leftovers from previous buffets when they don't have a lot of clients. My husband was keen to try it though, so I wanted to make sure I was making the right choice for myself. And being neurodivergent I asked an honest question. I asked the waiter if the food was fresh. Immediately, the guy took offence and he started bullying me. His reaction was dreadful. He continued his mistreatment right till the end. The food was okeish but nothing like it was described here. Maybe the fact that the restaurant was empty had something to do with the quality of the food provided that day. I'm never going back. I would rather go to Nandos on the way or take the bus to Stratford where there is far more choice.

Absolutely delightful experience! From the moment we stepped in, we were greeted with warm hospitality and a charming ambiance. The food wasn’t tasty compared to other turkish restaurants, and yet expensive. Portion is poor regards to price.

Disgusting service since the entrance of the facility, making jokes with brand new customers for a basic question if they had an outside area cause of the beautiful weather, and his response was the car park... Whichever after, we haven't even ordered yet, and they take the plate of my partner because she wanted to order something small like something from the kids' meal because she wasn't as hungry. They did not let her eat because of that.

The service from Constantin was amazing, very thoughtful and even provided me with a prayer mat after I opened my fast.

Went there for my baby turning 1 and iftar. Was running late, so told them to get my food ready for when I get there which they did do. The food was amazing, the best Turkish I had in a while, even the drinks were on point, just was missing fizz. But then closer to the time of going home my partner and baby were looking out the window and she had touched the window (as a baby would do) one of the waiters came to my partner and asked him not to let the baby touch the window and that she has made the window dirty. This was very upsetting as she is only a baby! That had ruined the rest of our evening and experience of choosing Wood Oven to dine in.

Food was too salty , meat was so chewy and hard not tinder . Overall food was not good , ambiance was good. They took almost 30 min to prepare after that lamb was so hard and chewy and salty . All excitement gone .

Food was good and the inside environment was so nice. But they just took only cash, it’s so annoying. I don’t know why most of the restaurant owners doing this. Nowadays most of the people don’t carry cash with them. Because of those restaurants owners, we need to go outside to withdraw the money after finishing food. It’s so stupidity. They should allow both cash and card. They couldn’t force the customers to give them cash instead of card payment due to the reason that they can give less tax and vat to Government. Government should do any particular rules due to this kind of harassment to general public.

Absolutely delishious! I enjoyed my meal, the meat was lovely & soft. Only critism, I ordered Halep kebab which consists of Kofte & lamb shish. I received Kofte with what could be aubergine underneath no lamb shish. It was like I said delishious. Just hopefully Next time I’ll get both. Thank you for an enjoyable meal.

Restaurant run by Turks in the center of Barking. We were full on our England adventure. Food kebabs are amazing. The appetizers served on the side are also great. And on top of that, Turkish style tea. What more?

We are coming to this place since 2017 and we never disappointed. Staff is very friendly and the food is very tasty. Price is good for value. The payment is always with cash and they have a cash machine inside which is not problem. We will come back another day for a lunch or dinner with the family.
