Very delicious food and friendly staff. Would definitely recommend.

The food is horrendous - No one in Wood Lane goes there anymore. Cheap meat!!! I want a refund please. You CANNOT use cheap meat and charge £13 for it. The reason you put your prices up so high is because no one returns!!!! You'll be closed down very soon.

Used to love this place and come here often with friends. Good price and much kebab meat. Been here only a few times this year. Recent trips I have to say it now.. The large is not a large anymore. It's so little meat. Looks like a small! Always ordered either large chicken or lamb doner. Chips over priced too and the last large chips I ordered with my doner was not even fully cooked. Couple of the chips was actually still cold inside. They rushed the chips I'm guessing because there were customers waiting. Disappointed. I come here often before but not so much now. And the last meal with the little meat and cold chips just pushed me to write this review.

I love this kebab but only Dagenham this is not good

You need to go back to the old Doner Kebab meat you used to use. If you're losing money, it's the meat you use. Use good quality meat, lower the price = good profit. You can't use cheap meat and put the price up to make up for your losses. Doner meat is chewy and bouncy, not like it used to be. Tastes different to how it used to be a few years ago. Used to be hand made out the back when the old guys used to run it. £13 for a large, meat not put in the pitta? I ordered large and looked like a small!!?? Change the meat and customers go elsewhere, especially original Dagenham customers. Agree with F Khan.

Overcooked lamb doner very dry . Not chips fries. Looked crusty. And not nice so didn't get any

I’ve been a loyal customer despite the higher prices, but this time was disappointing. I bought a mixed doner for my kids, but when we got home, the meat was rock hard and tasted stale. Even my kids, who usually love it, refused to eat after one bite. We ended up eating just the pitta bread, and the £13 felt wasted. When I called, they only offered to replace the meat if I came back the same day, which wouldn’t help with the rest of the meal going cold. While polite, they didn’t offer much to fix the issue, and the taste isn’t what it used to be. Such a shame and will be telling all the friends I initially recommended.

If you want to taste a very good service and taste, the address is certain and the employees are very friendly. I would like to congratulate Mr. Mehmet the most.

Use to be good. Hasn't been the same since lockdown. Now it's over priced and the portions are smaller and inconsistent. Even the chips are over priced.. regular customer lost.

Lamb doner or lamb shish food is best

Overpriced food, dont go large portion they will trick you with lots of chips and salad with LESS meat (either chicken, lamb or mix). Avoid !!!!!

Used to be the best but since management changed a few things have - prices have gone up, donner goes cold immediately after opening your order, donner cut inconsistently, some thin, some thick.

Bought the special mix for 3 people got home to find its very small , only a few strips of Donna meat a hand full of chicken Donna, 3 pieces of chicken shish,4 lamb shish and the kofta cut into 4 small pieces not worth the money and not really enough for 2 people let alone 3, disappointed is an understatement and when I spoke to the shop there was no real care what so ever. Use to be a great place for food what happened?? .

Did a google search to try find the highest star review for kebab In Romford. Found this. Went there and ordered a large Donner kebba. was upset when the portion of a large, came out looking like I ordered a small, as well as the food being super cold so fast whilst I ate it immediately in the shop after purchasing. The sauce given was also a very small amount. I paid £12 for a large which is must more expensive than other kebab shops, and sadly received pretty much a cold kebab box. Will never be returning, but upset with how I had spent my £12. The food needs improving as I've never had such terrible kebab before..my friend who came with me that day and ordered. Large also agreed :/.. £24 down the drain. Thought the portion would increase after I indicated to the owner whether this is a large, and he said yes. But it was a small portion as seen from photo. Nothing more to speak about but not returning as gutted with portion to price ratio.

Cash only is a no go. Dirty, dodgy, charging Cash Points around. Double no go. Smells nice although.

Usually lovely food .today i got chicken shish . No.maranade so very bland ..ended up in the dog. Need to do better ...

Got the Meat and Chips for £8.50. Very fatty meat, ate it outside the shop and within minutes the meat was cold and chewy. Could taste the fat. The fat to meat content is very high was alot better in the past Cash only!

I come here a few times a week. Very lovely and polite staff, always fresh and tasty food ontop of that they have made a sitting area oustide covered with flowers and it gives a restaurant vibe with same quality for cheaper price, would recommend all families to give try.

Food is absolutely disgusting found someone’s hair in my kebab! And they are very horrible they take ages to make it to be that bad and gave me food poisoning! DO NOT EAT IT

Not only great food but there is a covered eating waiting area with table and chairs, ash trays on the tables if u needed them keeping the street nice and clean without the cigarette butts littering the pavement out side, well done Abby kebab. The area has some great plants in planters that form the outside seating area, another great touch.

Very good Turkish kebab but could make the small one bit more bigger portion then it’ll be perfect.

Never understand how this place gets really good reviews. I think they are living off a past reputation where they used to be one of the only takeaways open late. Chicken shish is always dry and over cooked, doner is standard and so is most other things here. The service can be hit and miss a lot of the time now. I would try Charcoal grill instead. Best place in Dagenham.

I know this place since 90s nothing much has changed, doner is made in premisses, makes a huge difference in taste, portions are big, everything seasoned right and best kebab miles around ...definitely recommended ....

Agree with some of the other posts. The price versus what the portions are now are totally not worth it. I use to visit this place 2/3 times a week it was that good and the price, quality and quantity were all nothing short of amazing. Now £8.50 for a small doner and the portions won’t even fill up a small child let alone an adult. Might aswell label it as an overpriced kids meal. Fair enough to raise the prices in this climate but atlesst maintain the portions but how can you justify raising the prices by £2 extra but then reduce your portion sizes to similar to a kids meal? Their large isn’t really a large as all they do is give you a bigger pitta bread but the same amount of meat. Ridiculous!! This place was once my favourite, bit sad now I would not be visiting this place as much.

Food is well cooked, the chips are sometimes a little under cooked. Best place for a kebab.

2 small kebabs, small chips and chips in pitta cost £24!! My god that is theft! Handed over my 20 thinking that would be more than enough, then made me go get more money out while refusing to hand the 20 back and withholding the food. Been going here for years, sadly never again.

Great shish and great burgers However while their wraps taste great they are not constructed well at all so everything just falls apart which is a shame. The chicken kebab is great too!

Just bought Large donar kebab and chips £11,more like a very small one with the amount of meat.. Not cooked very well, pink meat No colour.. Chips over cooked.. Not what it used to be, probably changed hands... Won't go back..

I had a large chicken shish that was not bad at all. It cost £9.50 it had plenty of chicken but could have done with more salad and a larger pitta bread. Over all I was just glad it was open at 11:30 pm.

They write one price but sudenly charge extra pound for what, they cant explain... AVOID!

Great food every time we go here and we did live near abbey kebab we move 147 miles away but still have family near Abbey kebab so when we are down there we all ways get our kebabs when we here

How can I give this shop any less than 5 stars. It's the BEST KEBAB SHOP EVER! They have changed the chilli sauce, but it's still amazing! The salad is gorgeous, the lamb and chicken doners are so niiiiiiice. I have never been disappointed. The chicken burgers and beef burgers are super tasty. I've been coming to Abbey Kebaby since I was in year 9! And I'm almost 40. Same people serving too! Super friendly staff with amazing memories

Before was nice. But I bay today and I was surprised. Change after 2 months I was visiting abbey kebabs. I order chicken shish and get in same box meat chicken and salad. It’s was large . Before was separated meat and salad an know is not much salad. Sorry but you’re cut half off salad of LRG . Sorry but before was very big I can eat together with my wife one meal know half meal. What’s happening gays? Be out of COVID you are saving on meal ? Star looking for another kebab shop . If not change your meniu.

After nearly four years of living nearby, I decided to give this place a try after seeing the reviews on here, and am a regular now (don't know why I didn't review sooner) - this place is amazing, I cannot recommend enough. The food is something else, I am very picky about doner as I know low quality meat is very bad, I won't just get it from anywhere - however at the Abbey this is top quality - akin to what you would get in a swish Turkish restaurant. The staff are brilliant too, so friendly and you can see the hard work they put in 100% of the time. It is strongly advised to get their phone number, and a menu, and ring up before for collection - the shop is very small and is also very busy. You will not be disappointed - apart from the quality, the portion sizes are huge! Keep up the good work and no doubt be ordering again soon : )

The best kebab shop by far. Now I've tried alot of different kebabs shops over the yrs. And my this has to be my favourite out of them all. Food is amazing and full of flavours. Salad is especially nice and fresh.

Nice food but annoying to order from and the selections are wired how puts mixed meat in a bag and not a container.
